To clear up any confusion, front row games are the games that are displayed at the checkout counters in large blue boxes. All the games have big white stickers with their prices on them. They range in price from 4.99-14.99. These are NOT normal stocked items, nor are they the yellow stickered items found in the normal game section. Some stores are now moving these games into their normal stock sections, but they will still have the white stickers on them. If they do not have a white sticker, they are NOT a front row game.

********
Etymology of the phrase "Front Row" *******************
********************************************************

The term front row game stems from the name on a receipt for these items. They will all show up with the generic title Front Row instead of their actual names. The term does not specifically have to do with the fact that these games are found in the front row of a store, although that was where they originally were found. If you find a game without a sticker in the front row of a store, IT IS NOT A FRONT ROW GAME. It is only a Front Row game if it has a white sticker with a price tag along with a white upc sticker covering the original sticker.

**********************************************************

**PLEASE READ THIS FIRST ***
Ratchet & Clank for 9.99 is a Frontrow Game ONLY. We all know it's 40 on the website. All frontrow games are NOT normal stock games and will not show up online. These prices are good IN STORE only.
I see a lot of people saying OP Pirate's Carnival for PS2 is $4.99. I've never seen it for that - it has always been $9.99 here, with the frontlane $9.99 stickers. I'm positive, too, as I've bought several ;). That would have been a GREAT game to get for free (trades for $11 at Gamecrazy).
The OP:pC at this BB was weird. They had 2 copies marked at $4.99 and the rest were $9.99. The $4.99 sticker wasn't the yellow BB sticker either, but similar to the frontlane circle ones.
Also - WTF!?!? with people still finding $4.99 Katamari Damacy's! Hell, I'd be glad to pay $4.99 for that, I wouldn't expect it to be free! And I've already beaten it - I'd pay $4.99 just for a sealed copy to keep for posterity ;).
I was surprised, too. I picked up a $4.99 Katamari Damacy when the BB clearance started and now this one. I'm thinking it was old stock that they missed the first time or a customer return. This is the same BB that had 2 x Suikoden V for $1.99 in plain sight over a week after the clearance began.

Hey, I didn't see a trade thread about BB sales, and I am desperate for a copy of

:gba:Advance Guardian Heroes

If anyone can pick this up for $5 after the coupon, please PM me! I will pay $11 to cover game, shipping, and incentive. Thanks!

Ippo 2 for $5. Even without a coupon, great steal. Ugly graphics, but awesome bargain game for anyone who likes even a hint of boxing.

I just picked up Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones for GBA at Best Buy for $9.99 yesterday. It was one of their Blue Bin deals.

I didn't see that one listed in the list in this thread so I figured I'd add it. Excellent game for ten bucks!

I scored Kill.Switch for 9.99 last night. I'd gone to BB for something else and so I didn't have the coupon. Still, I'd been thinking about that game for a long while now and I feel I got a decent deal.

I saw a bunch of new $4.99 XBox games in the front lane display. These included:

Demon Stone
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
TOCA Race Driver 3

Also, Ruff Trigger (PS2) was priced at $9.99.
I saw Frogger for xBox for $4.99. Has anyone seen the GC version?
I saw the Xbox version as well (no GC version).

Another PSP game I saw was Ghost in the Shell: SAC for $9.99.

TOCA Race Driver 3 for $4.99 is a steal of a deal.

Weird, TOCA was $1.99 during the Feb clearance. I don't get these games that got clearanced out reappearing at higher prices.

There have been a bunch of new PSP games showing up it seems like, most notably Sega Genesis Collection for $9.99...

From http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134990

9.99 Gunpey (One Copy)
9.99 Pacman World Rally (One Copy)
9.99 Exit (this mysteriously re-appeared at my store after being gone for months...only one copy though).

Older 9.99 PSP Games (Most still in stock at my stores):
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
9.99 Ultimate Block Party
9.99 Crossword Puzzle
9.99 Go! Sudoku
9.99 Puzzle Challenge
9.99 Virtua Tennis
9.99 Ghost In The Shell: SAC
9.99 The Hustle: Detroit Streets
9.99 Death Jr.
9.99 Death Jr. 2 (YMMV)
9.99 Pinball
7.50 Metal Gear Acid 2 (as some people reported, though its $15 at my store)

Games are "re-appearing" because it is likely not Best Buy doing those front row games. We have discussed this in the thread. They have a different SKU so they can be tracked, and Best Buy is probably getting a consignment cut or something.

Yellow stickered but in this BB the games were incorporated in each platform section VS up front.

Bought PS2 Xenosaga II $9.99 ($14.99 - $5 GP coupon)
Good Deal? I think (now I have all three)

Found a couple penny guides today, but no Legos or Madden

I should think the fact that a DIFFERENT SUPPLIER is providing these front row games as some part of a SPECIAL PACKAGE should be OBVIOUS by now.

Which also means that removing the SKU sticker to get it to scan at BB's price, rather than the front row games supplier price, is a jackass move of the highest order.

If you're referring to my post, which was linked from the other thread, I am VERY aware how they do things at best buy, I was merely stating that a bunch of titles are hitting $9.99 at once. As for exit, it was stickered months ago for $9.99 and disapeared...its just funny to see if come back after so long. Now lets quit making obvious statements about the Different suppliers...once one person says it, four other people don't need to repeat the same exact thing. Someone asked if MG3:SE or Subsitance was the game for $9.99, and after I answered the question, three or four people posted just to answer the same question...even a day after I answered it. It seems that no one here reads anything...If anyone made it this far in this post, I'd be surprised

Speaking of MG3:SE, I went to BB this past week to look for it. No luck. Instead, I found one copy of Subsistence (mixed in with the Xbox games) for $9.99 with a yellow BB sticker and used a $5-off coupon. The lady took a long look and I thought my first reject was on its way. She was just reading the cashier instructions on the coupon.

New addition that I noticed:
Mighty Beanz (GBA) - $9.99 and comes with some free bean character (?) inside

Just yesterday, I happened upon a copy of Super Monkey Ball 2 with the white sticker labeling it as $9.99. Looks like that can be added to the Gamecube list to accompany the first game in the series. After coupon, it was five dollars and change...definitely an awesome deal for a AAA game.

I didn't even READ your post.

And, no, I didn't make it that far in this one. :p

Guilty Gear: Judgment [PSP] + Monster Hunter [PSP] are two titles that I am looking for.
I have Sega Genesis Collection for trade, or can buy, please PM if there's anyone who can help.

Crash Tag Team Racing (GCN) was 9.99 white labeled. Didn't see it on the list here before. Picked that up along with Super Monkey Ball 2 (Player's Choice GCN).

No Sega Genesis Collection. :(

Toca Race Driver 3 for $5 is a serious steal... I happened to come across it today and picked it up in a heartbeat.

Now I just have to return the copy I just bought at Fry's a week ago on clearance for $12... grrr.
The $5 TOCA 3 is only for the Xbox version, isn't it? Do they have the PS2 version for the same price?
I didn't see a copy of TOCA 3 for the PS2 at BB, unfortunately. If you really, REALLY need the PS2 version and someone else can't confirm that it's $5 at BB, you could use Circuit City as your last resort, as I do believe it's a $16.96 clearance title there.

Bought Splinter Cell Pandora's Box (GH) for the PS2 for 9.99 yesterday. So that one can be added to the list as well.

I bought a lot of incredible PSP games for 5 bucks a piece. Really impressive from BB. It's a shame the DS games are 15, 10 with coupon. I would have gotten more than Nanostray.

Pandora's Box??! do ya mean Pandora tomorrow? lol

So, did anyone else decide to pick up a copy of The Bible Game just for the novelty of having a Bible game that might be some landmark in stupid games years down the road? Ya, I did, I'm keeping it sealed until I can find it in me to play a game based on the bible :)

Some some new one's today that I remember:

Rampage: Total Destruction (PS2) 9.99
Transformers (PS2) 9.99
Taito Legends (PS2) 9.99

Rave Master (GCN) 9.99

Note: Not sure if it's a Boston thing, but these "front lane" games were mostly with the rest of the videogames deep in the store -- nowhere near the cash registers up front.

Hey guys/gals I picked up Devil May Cry 3 (special edition) for 9.99 from the sale boxes by the registers. I did not see any other copies in the boxes, but I did not go through them. The store is in Springfield, VA. For any Northern VA cats, it is across the street from Springfield Mall.

Hey sausage, that's the closest BB to me! I'm in Springfield, but it's almost Burke. Anyway, I saw a few "open box" games @ the BB across from Potomac Mills. Picked up a copy of Metos: Disney Magic for $10 and have already logged 5+ hours on it. Fun little puzzler with the added bonus of Disney (I'm somewhat of a Disney freak along with my wife).

It depends on the Best Buy's layout. Some have them all in the front next to the checkout line, some all with the rest of the games, some have them both places.

I'm assuming you got to that price with gift cards or reward zone certificates as well?

Yeah, it's just funny that the receipt says "front lane" more as the intent.

I'm inclined to think they're selling more when thrown into the games dept. Those checkout lanes are always empty and it's easy to bypass those out of the way blue/yellow boxes off in the corner.

Just glad they sell these at a nice price.

If anyone cares, they also had:

Godzilla: Save the Earth (Xbox) $4.99
wow, you're fucking lame.
Typing in alternating caps isn't?

TOCA 3 is a buy at that price, too bad you can't locate online.
