To clear up any confusion, front row games are the games that are displayed at the checkout counters in large blue boxes. All the games have big white stickers with their prices on them. They range in price from 4.99-14.99. These are NOT normal stocked items, nor are they the yellow stickered items found in the normal game section. Some stores are now moving these games into their normal stock sections, but they will still have the white stickers on them. If they do not have a white sticker, they are NOT a front row game.

********
Etymology of the phrase "Front Row" *******************
********************************************************

The term front row game stems from the name on a receipt for these items. They will all show up with the generic title Front Row instead of their actual names. The term does not specifically have to do with the fact that these games are found in the front row of a store, although that was where they originally were found. If you find a game without a sticker in the front row of a store, IT IS NOT A FRONT ROW GAME. It is only a Front Row game if it has a white sticker with a price tag along with a white upc sticker covering the original sticker.

**********************************************************

**PLEASE READ THIS FIRST ***
Ratchet & Clank for 9.99 is a Frontrow Game ONLY. We all know it's 40 on the website. All frontrow games are NOT normal stock games and will not show up online. These prices are good IN STORE only.
Edit -, OK, Godzilla Save The Earth is worthless on Xbox (about $7 on ebay) but I'll keep it to play, no problem (if it is BC that is). The PS2 version is incredibly rare for some reason though - I can't even find a completed auction new or used.
That's why I sold my PS2 copy on Ebay some time back for $70+. Was able to replace it with a $4.99 Xbox copy. :D
So, of the 4 stores I've been to the last 2 days, only 2 had any frontlane stuff and not much was new in there at all. They all seem to have been restocked with piles of Harvest Moon DS, though, if anyone is still looking for that. There is one more I can go to, but it is way out there and I can't bring myself to trudge over there for the inevitable disappointment. I could try calling to see what frontlane games they have but I just have a feeling that will be difficult (I don't want to find out they have regular R&C's for $39.99).
How much were the Harvest Moons? I'm assuming 14.99 but I wanted to double check before I added them to the list.

I just saw a PS2 version complete and minty at my local used store...$39.

Pretty sure they've been $9.99 forever it seems.

R&C seems to be an abhoration. I only recall 3 postings, 2 confirmed via pics. It certainly isn't here in the San Jose area. I make the rounds every week or so to check. Nothing to report so far.:censored:
I hit one up myself, and again: no dice on R&C front lane-style. I'm starting to think that the front lane R&C deal is strictly west coast, since *nothing* like that is being seen here in the Detroit area.
Well, I'm on the West Coast .

deathscythehe, Harvest Moon DS is $9.99, but is NOT a front-lane game. That is the normal UPC price ;).
The July GamePro coupons are up, thanks to the generosity of ryansebiz.

They expire July 21.

io, would you be willing to do your "magic" again on this set? ;)
Abracadabra!

This time I made a nice symmetry out of it by making 3 PSP/PS2/PS3 coupons and 2 Wii/DS coupons while leaving one for each of the other items - thus, 1 couopon for each "system" and other item. I expect that I and most others in this thread, anyway, will mostly use them on frontlane PSP games  (though I might as well get a few more Harvest Moon for DS givem how many I saw today).

Note that hopefully like the last set (which I just used today in fact) they won't actually expire on the 21st and we can use them at least for the rest of the month.
Abracadabra!
Thanks, io, and thanks to the person who originally posted the coupons for this month! Now, if I could just track down the ever-elusive Ratchet & Clank front lane PSP game.

Hmmm. I wonder if they have it online... ;)

Do these scan correctly this time? Or did Bustbuy still not fix it.
I saw Urban Reign for $9.99

and whoa, Guinevere, is that $9.99 for Yakuza universal? I'd buy it in a second at that price.
Can anyone else confirm Urban Reign? I'm going to make a trip up to Best buy and really want this game.

I've seen this myself. Wasn't interested, and therefore I can't remember which local BB in the Detroit area it was it, but I'm sure it was at more than one.

I saw Urban Reign for $9.99 (w/generic upc sticker) the day the $1.99 clearance started.

Same here. It's been sitting on the shelf for quite some time.

can anyone tell me if these $5 coupons are valid on new release video games?
cuz i just got back from my local Best Buy, and they wouldn't let me use one of those preferred cusotmer coupons on "All Pro Football 2008" for PS3 , they said it was a new release.. even tho the coupon says New DVD releases, and video game hardware, but no mention of new release video games.

also, are these $5 off coupons that are printed out on our home pc's universally accepted at Best Buy?
or is it one of those situations where have to get lucky and find a clueless cashier?

thanks!

b

I haven't tried the new ones, but I can tell you that the old ones (which have EXACTLY the same bar codes as the new ones) worked just fine for me yesterday on a PSP and DS game. I would expect them to work fine with PS2 games as well, so the frontlane stuff (minus Xbox and GC of course) is covered.
which harvest moon game are you referring too
Isn't there only one DS Harvest Moon? In any case, it is titled "Harvest Moon DS".

These should work on new released games no problem. YMMV as to the cashier accepting them. I had no problem for a long time and then ran into a period where they didn't take them because they were copies. But now, for some reason, I've been able to use them again - even well after they expired. The codes work automatically (at least for PS2/PSP/DS, I'm not sure if they fixed up the accessory and PC glitches from before). It is just a matter of getting the cashier to scan them.

thanks, i guess i'll give it a shot. i was gonna argue about that 10% off Blue preferred customer coupon, because it doesn't say anywhere its not valid on new video games.. just NEW DVD's and video game hardware.

should i argue that point with them? has anyone else here been able to use that coupon on a new release video game?

Well, there is Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon for the DS as I recall. Dunno if that's what the poster means.
Well, there is Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon for the DS as I recall. Dunno if that's what the poster means.
That's for the PSP.

There's a DS Harvest Moon coming out called Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon, but that's next month.

As for the "New Releases" issue, a Best Buy manager tried that on me too. I just called him on his bullshit about new releases not being eligible for coupons, because there is no legalese excluding them on the coupon.

I think it may be a new company policy to try and deter "coupon-clipping devil customers" so keep a lookout.

Military style additions only:

XBOX Rainbow Six 3 4.99
XBOX Just Cause 4.99
XBOX Men of Valor 4.99

PS2 SOCOM 3 9.99

Great deal for the last three. Never played RS6 3.

Carry on soldiers.

Anyone know if this will work on a price match? Because I want to price match the CC Wii games, (Yeah, i know i know, they are on clearance so you can't but it is worth a shot) and try to add the coupon and then swap them out for a brand new wii game at EB. Thaks for your help.
They are good through the 21st right, not actually expiring until sunday?
Like io mentioned, (if BB hasn't fixed it) you can still use the coupons past the expiration date. The coupons do say though that they're good until July 21. When I used the expired coupons, the cashiers didn't bother looking at the dates.
Do these scan correctly this time? Or did Bustbuy still not fix it.
I used the DS and PSP/PS2/PS3 coupons today and they scanned correctly. A pop-up window comes up and the cashier just has to hit "OK" from what I saw. No manual override this time.
Can anyone else confirm Urban Reign? I'm going to make a trip up to Best buy and really want this game.
I can also confirm Urban Reign. I've seen that game for some time now for $9.99.

Thanks again for the magic, io. I used them today to get the last Loco Roco and Outrun (PSP) for $4.99. I also got a few copies of Enchanted Arms (PS3) for $14.99.

There's no issue with those two coupons. The two problem ones were the PC Game one and the Accessory one.
There's no issue with those two coupons. I used it on a PS2 game and it rang up as "PS3" so the cashier had to call for a manager override to apply the $5 off. My receipt even said "PS3 game."

Yup its there its a really good fighting game. Overlooked I think. Anyway multi-player is a blast.

Urabn Reign is great and will also kick your teeth in lol. If you people can not find it at BB I found one at Sears for the Same price a few months ago and by now it may even be cheaper.

Yeah, Urban Reign is nice for $10, and has been at every BB I've been to. It is one of the easier ones to nab.

It is a pretty swell fighting game, but it is one of those games that will quickly become no fun at all once you and your friends get absurdly good at it.

Plus, the Story mode blows. Not as bad as Marvel Nemesis, but it blows.

Hulk Ultimate Destruction (xbox) - $ 9.99
Urban Reign (ps2) - $ 9.99
Metal Gear 3 Snake Eater (ps2) - $9.99
Rogue Trooper (xbox) - $ 9.99 (though i bought one for $4.99)

I saw Full Metal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy for the DS marked frontlane, 14.99.

Got that with GrimGrimoire and use the respective coupons, with $15 in RZ certs. Ended up paying around $30. :D
Wait, WTH?! I don't even have a copy of that issue yet, and the things are already expiring tomorrow? Are people just getting the issue now? That's certainly a super shady way to make sure it doesn't actually cost Best Buy anything.
i wonder if there will be anymore coupons since Best buy no longer carries Gamepro mags

Can i use multiple coupons in one purchase on different games? I mean if I buy two games at $9.99 each can i use two coupons and get $5 off both games and pay $10 for both games combined?
Can i use multiple coupons in one purchase on different games? I mean if I buy two games at $9.99 each can i use two coupons and get $5 off both games and pay $10 for both games combined?
You should be able to, but it just depends on the cashier you get. Sometimes it's hard enough to get them to let you use one.

Well, I went to the 5th and final Best Buy in my area today. This one had always been good before with the frontlane stuff so I was hoping for R&C or Field Commander. But dammit, THIS one has also removed the frontlane games (in favor of more crappy DVDs). I found a few of the former frontlane things back in the regular shelving. I did find a new one (for the OP anyway): Neopets for PSP. I picked up 2 since I drove all the way out there and had 2 coupons with me. I'm not sure what I'll do with them (already have the game unopened - I may give my PSP to my daughter if I get one of the new ones and she might like to play this).

Other than a few odds and ends like Viewtiful Joe ($14.99 with a little Best Buy logo sticker, not the frontlane one), Ultimate Block Party, and MX vs ATV I saw nothing else there. It was very disappointing.

So that means out of the 5 Best Buys in my area, only 2 even have frontlane displays any more, and they both have very pathetic selections with none of the new stuff discussed here...

im sure your daughter will love the neopet game.. Its a fun little game Always remember to check every game (sometimes people hide the better games) I found hard rock casino psp hidding behind 7 bible games

The Front Lane displays started disappearing from Best Buys this week. Of the 5 I hit this week, only 2 still had the displays in the front. Though some had the games moved back into the regular game section.

Anyway I saw these new titles in the remaining displays:

Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 (PSP) - $9.99
Kingdom of Paradise (PSP) - $9.99

Those were the big ones I remember. I was quite surprised to see a lone copy of DW2 (PSP) and eagerly picked it up.

Oh, and by the way, the June Gamepro coupons still scanned as I used one today.
Oh, so you live in the Detroit area, do you? ;)
Ha, nowhere near there ;). I guess you are seeing the same - and Josef too with the 2 out of 5 experience also . It's too bad as it looks like they are phasing out the frontlane games just as they start getting good.
