To clear up any confusion, front row games are the games that are displayed at the checkout counters in large blue boxes. All the games have big white stickers with their prices on them. They range in price from 4.99-14.99. These are NOT normal stocked items, nor are they the yellow stickered items found in the normal game section. Some stores are now moving these games into their normal stock sections, but they will still have the white stickers on them. If they do not have a white sticker, they are NOT a front row game.

The term front row game stems from the name on a receipt for these items. They will all show up with the generic title Front Row instead of their actual names. The term does not specifically have to do with the fact that these games are found in the front row of a store, although that was where they originally were found. If you find a game without a sticker in the front row of a store, IT IS NOT A FRONT ROW GAME. It is only a Front Row game if it has a white sticker with a price tag along with a white upc sticker covering the original sticker.

Thats the most I can recall. Its the best stock Ive seen. The PSP games were removed from the fromt and were spread out by the retail PSP games.
 
Last week I printed out the $5 off (PC game) coupon to use, and it ADDED $1 to the bill! WTH? I had to go back into customer service to get my dollar back, hah.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?
 
I just got Resevoir Dogs & Just Cause for XBox, but I didn't know what else to look for.

Going back to look for Yakuza, Pacman Rally, & Urban Chaos!
 
So what are the best choices at BB/front row for the EB extra $10 for 2 psp/ds trade in fodder? Besides Gunpey and Harvest moon?

Firefox > File > Page Setup > "Format & Options" tab, then reduce the scale % and play around with that setting until you get something reasonably smaller and coupon-like in the biz card range.

Sorry I don't have the exact dimensions of the coupon.

(Not that it matters since this whole thing is nonregulation. Especially with it being "expired" and highly dependent on the register monkey.
 
Picked up Virtua Tennis World Tour for $5 after coupon today, and also got Wipeout Pure for $10 with the coupon. Both times they scanned the coupon and it worked fine. Very nice.

I wish they had Loco Roco or R&C, though. Virtua Tennis was the only decent front lane PSP game there. And something tells me they won't be adding any.
 
The coupon still works on their systems, but it's up to the cashier to scan it and accept it since the coupon's, well, expired. I was shot down yesterday trying to use it for some more EB/GS trade-2-PSP/DS-get-$10 fodder since it expired 7/21.

That is the BEST FPS you've never heard of, and in the off chance that your BB has it, you're an idiot if you let that go.

Well, I guess you might not like FPSs, but UC:RR is just so much quality.

Hulk:UD is something that you're also an idiot for letting go, but it can be had cheap relatively easily these days. UC:RR, not so much.

does anyone know if Demon Stone :xbox: is any good?

and man, no gamecube titles to pick up. i haven't seen any decent gc title in the frontlane.

Cold Fear? Nice.

I liked Demon Stone, but I'll play anything Diablo/Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance/Bard's Tale style of game. It's quality, just not groundbreaking.

Aw, man! When it was first posted here that Urban Reign was in the front lane games, I made an excuse to go to BB thinking it was Urban Chaos. I would so like to find it for $5.

Went to one BB yesterday to pick up The Tick vs. Season 2. Nothing in the front lane games. Went to a different one today. A whole lotta nothing, although they had a ton of front lane games.
 
Crud - no Yakuza in my area. Are these front row games restocked regularly with the random stock, or are you pretty much stuck with the titles you already see in your stores?

Thanks for the suggestion! I got UC:RR yesterday along with Just Cause and both games are REALLY fun, especially at $5.

Anyone know if :xbox: Resivoir Dogs is any good?
 
I know of at least TWO Front Row games I'd buy, if my damned BB's here actually stocked BOTH and if the one were 2 player.

Demon Stone(Xbox)-hate the fact that it's 1 player only, thus further making it seem like those who play games have no friends TO play with, yet my friend n I blazed through both BG games on PS2 and Xbox(first one on PS2, second on Xbox), as well as the first CON and even the Fallout Brotherhood of Steel game.

Just Cause(Xbox)-even though my Xbox which I got 2 years ago disliked that game(kept locking up on it), I'd like to try it on my spare Xbox and see if it works....one of the better GTA sandbox clones...

Oh and for anyone thinking of getting Urban Chaos: Riot Response, a word of warning, you can use the riot shield throughout the ENTIRE game and beat it just THAT way from what I remember, since I own it already.
 
Stopped by my BB today and noticed what seems to be a new smaller version of a front row game display thing. Was with labed 4.99 signs.

There were some others, but if they were good then I would probably remember. I also noticed a new clearence table at my BB, but this seems to be a YMMV. Anyway, your BB is probably worth checking out.

History Channel's Civil War for either $4.99 or $9.99? Not bad, since I've been looking to try that out for a while now, but $35-40 was too much for what many people told me was a FPS set in the Civil War era.

EDIT: Nevermind, as that game looks mediocre at best, like Gamespot said.
 
I passed by BB tonight, and I saw a price tab (those white plastic stuff) for Demon Stone :xbox:, priced at $4.99.

so i think it's also for both FrontRow and their regular stock. I already bought one when I found a copy at frontrow lane.

so if anyone might need to check their BB locations without hitting all a dozen or so just to look for it, I got their SKU or Numbering.

Demonstone: 6870549 25589 (i'm not sure which one is the SKU)

so there, i guess this will save you guys some gas money, and just ask your closest BB if they can look it up for store availibility.

Just Cause is a weird game. I'm trying it out on Xbox, but I can't get over the light-bloom "haze" effect they put on everything. Plus the fact that the main character is semi-transparent makes me feel like I'm playing the game with sleepy eyes. The game does widescreen though, so I'm trying to like it...

See, it's weird, as I never noticed any of that, but the smallest discrepancy in other games I notice like they had a big flashing neon sign over them. However, I did notice in certain episodes of the old Star Trek series that some of the effects are transparent(Doomsday Machine episode). You can either see the stars through the Doomsday Machine or it's some sort of weird reflection.

Either way, I know my chances of finding JC for $5 locally for Xbox are slim to nil, since I checked ONE BB store already and came up empty. Now, I just have to check the other one to see if they have it.

Yea I am in mn. and was wondering if this is all BB stores. We have it here as well. They had 360, ps3, ps2, wii, gc,psp, ds, and gba games on the display at the store in roseville. 50% off as well. these are the ps3 I remember. I picked up nba street and vt3 for 42 out the door. Figured get the others cheaper later.

If these 50% off clearance are at all stores this should have its own thread. I saw a post in the mn regional thread but couldn't find anything in here when I did a search. It appears as though they are clearing out to get ready for the holiday season and all the new releases on the way. If anyone can confirm this deal other than mn. fire up a thread just for this because this really isn't a front row games deal.

Hmm, I just started to look for the $5 Xbox games this week and found Just Cause at the second BB I checked.

I found Urban Chaos, and got a copy of Rogue Trooper for $1(a story more for bragging rights than here ;)).

What I REALLY want is a $5 copy of Godzilla Save the Earth. But since I started to look sooo late, I doubt I'll find a copy...:cry:

You won't like what I saw today then ;).

I went to a fairly new Best Buy (opened in June). I had complained before because this store didn't install a frontlane display for games - they had about 3 or 4 for DVDs though. Imagine my surprise as I'm in there today buying Simpsons Season 10 with the $10 off coupon (thanks yet again to CAG) and they have a brand new frontlane display up by the registers. It is the official blue cardboard one with the printing on it and all - just like the ones that were removed from all the other stores around here. I had assumed that frontlaning was on the way out with all the removals. But rest assured, more stock is on the way.

They had a crapload of Just Cause, Urban Chaos, a bunch of crappy $14.99 DS games, Ant Bully for the GC, and some PS2 stuff. But the target I was after were those PSP goodies since I was on my way to EB to trade some other games anyway.

Fortunately I brought coupons with me just in case. UNFORTUNATELY, they didn't have Ratchet & Clank or Field Commander, which I've been looking for high and low for my personal collection. They had a ton of Gunpey, Pac-Man World Rally, and (is this a new one? I'm lazy and didn't look in the OP) Ape Escape Academy. All $10, or $5 after I used my well-expired coupons (which still work automatically by the way leading me to think there is an August set out there somewhere). I actually only got two games as I didn't want to push it along with the Fox DVD $10 coupon. Not bad, though, paying $30 for Simpsons Season 10, Pac-Man World Rally, and Ape Escape Academy (the latter two were promptly turned into $22 of EB credit). I want to get another set of those to keep (they had at least 10 of each) so I'll try my luck again soon.

Even though the selection kind of sucked in terms of stuff I'd actually want, I was glad to see the frontlane dfisplay make a triumphant return. I need to check out the older stores that removed them several weeks ago and see if they were restocked.

Actually, I think I've seen Godzilla: Save The Earth at one of my local BB's. If I see it, I'll nab a copy and we can trade if you want for Just Cause(xbox).

It's weird how my BB didn't get JC, but others had their stores get copies, while those other games they're looking for we got, etc, etc.

my BB store got fresh supply of titles today, majority of them were those i already got (Rogue Trooper, etc.) and most from the current list on the 1st page. it looks like it's gonna be busy hunting trip tommorrow as i'll be checking some titles that i want.

I dont know if RD is any good but Urban Chaos at $5 is awesome.. I was happy to find one at wal-fart for $15 like a month ago for PS2.. Thats one game that vanished even the used game stores around me dont have it..
Now as far as Cold Fear goes do they have it front-row for PS2 as well? I would snag one for that price, it was a pretty good game...
