Best PC Game EVER: Vote

It is hard to choose but here is my Top list:

RPG: Deus Ex (KOTOR is an Xbox game)
FPS: HL2
Strategy: Age of Empires 2
Sports: Bah they suck

1: Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (Took the QIII engine and made a STELLAR single-player mode and a muti-player mode that blows QIII out the damn water).
2: Quake III Arena

I have to do it by genre:

RPG: Fallout
FPS: Half Life 2
Platformer: Psychonauts
Adventure: Day of the Tentacle with Space Quest IV, Monkey Island 2, and Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars as runner ups.
RTS: Starcraft
Proper Strategy: Civilization IV
Racing: STUNTS (yep, I said it)
Side-Scroller: The Lost Vikings, with Commander Keen at its heels.
Puzzle: Oddworld: Abe's Exodus

This list is civilization.

Tough. I'll just make a list.

Fallout/2
Planescape: Torment
Baldur's Gate 2: SoA with ToB

The Secret of Monkey Island
Day of the Tentacle
Zork: Grand Inquisitor
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
System Shock 2
Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings
Half-Life 2
Total Annihilation

Classics I realize I need to play: Warcraft series, Starcraft, Civilization series, SimCity, King's Quest/Space Quest/Leisure Suite Larry

1) Star Wars: Tie Fighter
2) Baldurs Gate 2: Shadows of Amn
3) Medieval: Total War

Honorable Mention goes to: Minesweeper

1. Heroes of Might and Magic 3
2. Might and Magic VI: Mandate of Heaven
3. Diablo 2

Man....PC games took up so much of my free time eventhough I prefer consoles...

Diablo 2
Total Annihilation
Rollercoaster Tycoon (No one else mentioned this?!)
Starcraft

You guys are showing your age!!!

LOL!

Lots of great games, but I can't believe you have forgotten...

X-COM!!

If you wanna talk about reliability and overall hours put in, Solitaire pretty much cleans everything else up. The fact you can play it on any PC anywhere is certainly a aprt of it, because as it turns out I get bored in places other than my house.

Half Life 2...best game ever

along with Half Life 1 and Episode 1...Half Life 2 just took it to another level, so that one will always stick out to me.
Diablo 2. Hands down.
I can't believe I've forgotten it either. I was in middle school when Terror From the Deep came out and I played that damn game late into night and got my mom really pissed off at me. That was probably the first game to really get me into turn-based shit, opening my mind up to things like Fallout and Final Fantasy games in the future.

I didn't forget X-COM, it's one of my favorite PC games, but when you compare it to either Fallout or Baldur's Gate, well, I have to give the nod to Shadows of Amn, with Fallout 2 being second. The variety of characters, NPCs and questing in that game (BG) is awesome, and one game can last WELL beyond a game of XCOM. Add in mods and it gets even better.

With people mentioning multiple games I thought maybe, just maybe, I'd see some Dungeon Keeper love. So fuck you all. :p

Seriously though, I wouldn't know where to begin. I have a profound love for Dungeon Keeper though and go back to play it quite often. It's not in my top 5 but I just felt the need to mention that sexy game... Damn you EA.

Dungeon Keeper 1 > Dungeon Keeper 2 in my opinion.

I can't believe I forgot this game, but my all-time absolute favorite has to be American McGee's Alice. It's a beautifully made game.

Quest for Glory 4
King's Quest 6
Fallout 2
Duke Nukem 3d

Those are my four favorite pc games.

This is very tough. My single favorite changes with the day but here are some of the contenders:

Bard's Tale (the original)
Wasteland
Ultima 4
Ultima 5
Fallout 2
Wizardry 7
Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Might and Magic World of Xeen (Really 2 games combined)
Master of Orion 2
Master of Magic
Civilization 2
Jagged Alliance 2
X-Com
Baldur's Gate 2
Dungeon Hack
War in Middle Earth
Roadwar 2000

Not much warcraft 3 love, eh?

That game sucked up like 500 hours of my freakin' life!

Counter Strike is fun.

The original COD was the game that got me into PC Gaming

For me, it's either The Sims or Roller Coaster Tycoon. Yeah, I've never been a PC gamer (unless you count Number Munchers). However, I did recently pick up Starcraft and the Kings Quest Collection, so we'll see where they take me. Hopefully on a journey, girl.

The ones that stick out for me are:

X Com UFO Defense
Civ II
Jagged Alliance I & II
System Shock II
Planescape Torment
Fallout I & II
Baldur's Gate II
Master of Orion II
Monkey Island I & II
Day of the Tentacle
Master of Magic
Heroes of Might and Magic I, II, & III
Rollercoaster Tycoon
Half Life I & II
Bards Tale
Wizardry
Elder Scrolls: Arena

OK... I'll stop now. Oh... wait... Ultima III.

Edit: Forgot to include Fallout (which I cannot believe)

1. Baldur's Gate II SOA
2. Quake 2
3. Duke Nukem 3D
4. WarCraft 2
5. Planescape Torment...fallout1..fallout2...baldur's gate 1 and throne of bhaal...kings quest, police quest, leisure suit larry... half life..... ect you get the idea.

Half life 2, subsection CS:S. HL 2 is one of the best. Though, the first UT did take up many hours from my life aswell.
