So I happened to find a list of their games that they are giving some good money on, I guess to compete with Gamestop. Here is a copy of the list. I dont know if you have to trade in more than 1 game to get the deal, but thought others would be able to chime in with their experience. Of note is the hot shots golf trade in for PS3 (if you were able to get it from the sears clearance).

Added by Io: Note that you can also trade games in using this site:
http://ebay.eztradein.com/ebay/
which is handled by the same processor (Dealtree) used for the Best Buy program. In this case, though, you can get PayPal payments instead of Best Buy gift cards. The trade-in values and processing methods seem to be exactly the same.

-----
I tried looking for the $20 and $30 trade in value games but came up empty, if you want to provide the link so I can add it here, let me know via PM.

UPDATED: since it keeps getting asked

1. Can I take them to a physical store?
Games need to be mailed in. If you try to do an instore trade from the website it will redirect you to mailing it in.

2. How many days do I have to mail it in?
30 days from initiating the trade. Mail it in ASAP as the processing time until you get your money differs and could be a wait.

3. Are trade in quotes locked in or do they get valued at time of processing?
Get your games in fast enough and you will not have to worry about this. But the majority believe that you are locked in as long as it gets there before the 30 days are up.

4. Do games have to be complete?
Case, Manual, and working game are your only options. So yes, full credit if you have everything. But we are not too sure on how they determine scratches affecting playability (if they physically test the game during processing). Just clean all smudges and fingerprints prior to mailing, and if you have deep scratches it is up to you to chance them saying the game does not work.

5. What happens if they say the game is worth less than trade in quote?
You can either accept their valuation or PAY to have your game shipped back to you.

I actually locked in too many SMB:S&R, TSM, AC2 and Lego Indys. I can manage to get enough 360 LI2s (my closest store had 4-5 copies complete) to cover my order, but I didn't realize that I would be 3-4 TSM short, 3ish SMB short and didnt have the time to hit up the stores yesterday for the remaining wii/ps3 LIs (so many around here). I am going to completely pass on the AC2 portion of my orders because I dont care to wait on GS. Of course, I locked most of them all in on one order... so it was dumb on my part anyway.
Is it just that they don't like being "blamed" for late mail or is there actually some metric that effects their ranking/performance based on the original "mailing date" vs delivery date? If it is just the former (that they don't like people coming in later and complaining about the apparent transit time being long) that is pretty stupid - the people these things are going to aren't going to complain about it.
I dont know about his, but mine will always say stupid things like "we can't manually back-date a postmark and that is what buying postage w/ a date on it and waiting a week to send it is doing." I've gone in on a Monday with postage purchased on a Sunday and they threw a fit saying that I "should have mailed it yesterday." Of course, explaining that you can't just "reprint" pre-paid postage with a different date is like explaining the sensation of sight to a blind person.

I already hate my post office because they, without fail, inspect my media mail (which only bothers me now because they run the risk of destroying my stuff if they sloppily tear the package... or forget to seal it back up and it falls out in transit.). My post office always bitches about my mailing, but I have the biggest absolute dicks working at my Post Office (to the pt where I'll drive 20 minutes out of my way on bad days)... I just cant win with mine.

Is it okay to send prepaid to a different post office than your town, like the next town over or do they not get paid because it is prepaid with your zip as the return address?
Yep, anything that was $30 dropped to $25 (or less) when the new promo started on May 29th or 30th.
What is the new promo?

Speaking of which, has anyone tried sending in just part of an order (and say, crossing out the items that you aren't including?)

What does can't manually back-date a postmark even mean? Is it okay to send prepaid to a different post office than your town, like the next town over or do they not get paid because it is prepaid with your zip as the return address?
I've had one guy bitch at me about this before, and it was a few years back, but I just chalked it up to him being an asshole. The "backdate the postmark" comment doesn't make any sense because it's NOT a postmark on the label at all. If they really wanted, they could just stamp i t with a real postmark to indicate the actual acceptance date.

Amazon lets you just send part of the order without crossing it out, and they seem to be the strictest out of the trade in companies via mail. That is the best I can help you.

I know. Believe me, she makes sure to make a big deal out of every little thing... and stamps it while it's on the counter to make sure they know the date it is "actually shipped." It was an even bigger pain in the ass to get her to accept my package when I just marked out the date.

As for shipping them without stuff.... on Dealtree, when you go to the USPS shipping label, you just have to click the items (check mark them) for your shipping manifest. I guess you could, theoretically, just take a black marker to the items you aren't including. For amazon, you just ship it without the items... same with gazelle (or you can also just cancel individual items)

Dammit! i sold AC2 on craigslist a couple weeks ago...

By the way, does anyone know what bestbuy does with the used games they take in? I don't see used games being sold in my store...

I just wish Dealtree had a nice way of cancelling items on the site.

I had two bizarre orders that, for some reason, generated UPS labels. They were two-game submissions but for some reason I got customer-paid UPS labels for them. They actually say that the UPS clerk is supposed to collect payment from the customer upon drop-off! That was strange. I resubmitted them the next day and got the standard USPS first-class labels. But on those two oddball orders I actually got emails from Dealtree this weekend asking why I haven't sent them. Here is what it said:

Thank you for participating in the ezTradein.com eBay Trade-in Program program. We have detected that your trade-in item has not been shipped.

If you need the shipping information, we''ve provided that below. If you''ve decided to not send your item in, please let us know. We would love to hear your feedback to help improve our trade-in program.

That's great - I'd like to cancel. But how, exactly, do I let them know!? I don't want to send a generic email because I don't want some CS person cancelling the wrong ones. If I could do it with a click or two like at Amazon/Gazelle, I'd clear those two orders out. But without an easy way to do it, I'd just prefer to leave them alone.

It's funny, though, because I have older submissions I didn't send in either and they never wrote about those. It's almost like those two didn't get categorized as video games so the shipment/notification was all different.

I hope to god I do not receive those messages for every estimate that I did not send in.... it's bad enough they spammed the crap out of me with an email for each game listed on each order.
Lego Indiana Jones 2 is on the list for a $25 gift card, but is in store for $19.99.

I guess that's why they have "list subject to change", otherwise FREE MONIEZ!!!
Heh, well, it didn't take them long to invoke that clause!
Sorry, too late on that one.
Yep, and in addition to Assassin's Creed II, they dropped Lego Indy 2 and Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll. So, yeah, they pretty much killed off all the good parts of this deal...

Requested the trade when they were $25 earlier today. If I ship them out tomorrow will I still get the original price or will I be quoted the new value of $8?
Requested the trade when they were $25 earlier today. If I ship them out tomorrow will I still get the original price or will I be quoted the new value of $8?
I had some 360 Beatles Rock Band verified at $20 on May 19th and the value on those dropped to $9 or so on May 1st. So, no, they don't do that as a matter of habit - we'll see, of course, with all these ones that just dropped a ton. I'm sending in a few Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll myself tomorrow.

But the whole idea of locking in a trade quote and getting it in within the submission time is that the value holds no matter what. All their talk of "revised" values is meant more for Electronics and other items where the condition may not be as you described. As long as it is the correct game and complete and playable, you should have no problems. YMMV on any imperfections: nom-standard case, missing manual, etc. We simnply don't have enough data on Best Buy/Dealtree to say for certain how they treat those things.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I only have three SMBs but they're brand new and all that so I should be alright on that front.

Thanks again for clearing it up. Appreciated.
Not all of them. *run and hides*
What, Madden 10? I love the secretive CAGs ... and yes, I understand there are lurkers all over the place but good lord does it get old with the ridiculous secret flipping cliques that have come and gone on CAG over the years.

Wow, im glad I got in my last Lego Indy, Madden, AC's and SMB's last night before the drop. They're definitely going out first class so they get there sooner.
I just wish Dealtree had a nice way of cancelling items on the site.
I just pulled this from their website, but I totally agree. A cancellation system similar to Amazon would be nice.

How To Cancel A Trade In
To cancel a trade before shipping the item, use the Trade-in Support contact form, include your name and quote number, and specify what you want cancelled in your transaction. We will send you an e-mail confirming the cancellation. You may be asked, but not required, to provide a reason for cancelling the trade. Once we have confirmed receipt of your trade, the transaction cannot be cancelled.
Wow, so I could basically get $50 in trade in value Smash bros brawl? Jesus, I may do that.
No, you will get $25 for trading in 1 SSBB.

time to head back over to my local sears. They had a bunch of these games for $10 or less. Gonna grab a bunch and filip em and grab a turtle beach head set and maybe the Tim and Eric AWesome Show Great Job.

SWEET BERRY WINE

Does anyone know if the "locked in" trade quotes are completely locked in or if there is a chance that they could give you less? I have shipping labels printed with the $25 quote for SMB S&R but was wondering if it's better to ship them or return them since they're not opened. Any help would be appreciated.

As long as you ship them by the 30 day deadline, you're good. LBP had long since dropped when they got mine and I still got $30 for them...

Will do. Thanks for the quick response. :)
This is the best deal, but may be YMMV. Worked for me though.

RZ members can print a coupon for $20 off Monkey Ball Step and Roll. The game is currently "on sale" for 29.99 at BB. If the cashier accepts the coupon, the game will come out to 9.99! Trade in for $25 GC!

I bought the game at that price, I noticed a few prompts come on the computer but I guess the cashier bypassed them. So this deal my be YMMV.
this would of been a good flip but i checked BB.com and the game is priced at 49.99, mayb the sale ended over the weekend, did u purchase MBSR before sunday???

Edited the title of the thread. Before it implied a free (additional) $25 gift card, when in reality, it's simply a list of games with a $25 TIV.

Yep, I just got a massive amount of payments too - like, everything that has been verified over the last two weeks. I'll have to check them all to make sure.

^^ Nice to see you back, Gwen ;).

Through Saturday and for the last two weeks it was $9.99 after the coupon. It seems they killed it from both sides: the trade-in value and the retail price.

Anybody else have their estimate orders disappear from the site? I know that they didnt receive the ones that disappeared, because i hadnt shipped them yet.

I sent in my SMB games and got a verified value email on May 26th. About when should I expect my gift card? Also, when an above poster mentioned canceling a trade in... I reserved a Halo ODST trade in when this promotion started (don't worry, I did not put it in the same thing as the SMBs that I shipped) but decided not to ship the game. Does that matter at all?

I just checked mine, they're all still there and I shipped them today.

^^SMBSR was still on sale yesterday. Unfortunately, the TIV tanked late yesterday. Does anyone know if it will go back up again which happens for Amazon/NorAm TIVs?

I also shipped mine today and all my quotes were still there.

I have six Lego Indys on order from Gamestop.com, and it's too late to cancel the shipment. Glad I locked in the price Sunday.

I hit up the two closest Sears and bought x4 :ps3: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, x2 :ps3: Dirt 2, x2 :360: Dirt 2, and x3 :ps3: Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. Even with tax they were all less than $15, so I'm making out like a bandit.

EDIT: HOLY fuck! I'm glad Gamestop said it was too late to cancel the order, because I just got an email with six $10 coupon codes! I didn't know used Lego Indiana Jones 2 qualified for that. Combined with the 25% off I got from another coupon code, I really just spent about $20 total on shipment. Not bad!

No freaking way! I also got an email with 6 $10 codes, but I had ordered 6 qualifying games (in 4 different orders) last Friday. I was still surprised I got all of them so quick and in one email though. I was tempted to order Lego Indy 2 as well, but with the stock at local stores being near zilch I didn't want to get stuck with disc-only refurbs with no way of swapping them out. I guess I should have anyway since I could have just returned them. But then there was that whole banning scare - though I think some of that was misplaced as it seems GS was just having problems with checkout on Thurs/Fri and orders were getting cancelled for no reason. Had I known coupons would come along with it I certainly would have ordered a few, anyway.

Really Indy 2 qualified then where the fuck is my coupons, I didn't see it anywhere on the page, but if its so thats awesome.

Finally got a bb gift card for an older order.. took their sweet bippy time :p Sent on 5/12, verified 5/20, card arrived 6/1. Almost a month turn around time isn't exactly amazing, but I guess I can't complain (profit is profit). I'm a believer (but still lazy to use them under normal circumstances, gazelle was 3x faster than this).

It was never listed as a qualifying game. elrobo8 either just got lucky with a mixup at GS or forgot maybe he ordered some other stuff (like Assassin's Creed II perhaps?). I got my codes for SSFIV and Assassin's Creed II. The surprise for me was that they came so soon (before shipment for the AC II codes) and that I got multiples as I ordered 3 PS3 copies and seem to have gotten codes for each one!

Yea I have so many coupons sent to me that I'm not even sure which order its from, they should make it clearer.

I'm still trying to figure out what(if anything)I'm going to do with my $10 codes. I have one from the UFC contest thing and one from my single copy order of LBP GOTY for PS3.

I think I'm going to give one of them to the CAG who gave me their RecycleBank $15 off $20 code that I used on the EA Store double code stacking glitch back when that PAXEAST code stacked with it to get 9 $20 games for $2.72 each shipped free to my house.

@io
No, this is my first Gamestop order since February. I can't think of any reason I'd get the codes other than the Indys. Six games...six codes...fits perfectly.

Since it looks like no one else got them, I'm wondering why the heck I did. Glitch in the system, perhaps? :whistle2:k

So is the $25 trade in credit still valid for Assassin's Creed II or has that dropped to $7 indefinitely? Because on the list of 140 games it says prices valid until June 5, 2010 but it also says list subject to change yet it's still on the list.

The TIV is what you get when you search the estimator. Simple as that. That list is worthless, it's just a rough guide. It was only accurate the day it came out.
Don't follow the other BB trade thread so i'm glad you posted this. $25 for Madden 10 is to good to pass up. I never play it and NCAA is just around the corner! :)
you're very welcome im glad u appreciate it. i normally get flak

there seems to be confusion with this. i wish i could elaborate better
Does anyone know if it will go back up again which happens for Amazon/NorAm TIVs?
Yes, I have insider info. April 2013 TIV will be $29 bucks.

So...since you all have been doing this a lot longer than me, do you think it'll matter if I send in 10 PS3 Lego Indy 2's all factory sealed? I know sometimes Gamestop doesn't take sealed games because they think you stole them or something, but I don't know Best Buy's policies. I read back on the thread and people said they have sent in sealed games and Best Buy accepted it, but I don't think anyone sent them TEN games all factory sealed.

Oh, and I'll be buying the games in 4 seperate orders from bestbuy.com (they have a max 3 per order, and I locked in 10 PS3 Lego Indy 2's so I'll have 3 orders of 3 and 1 of 1. Basically buying games from them and sending it back in for money.

Opinions?

Just got my first paypal payment in from DealTree and I had previously gotten about $400 in BB credit. Went perfectly smooth. I'm locked in for a ton of extra Assassin's Creed II and Lego Indies. Using this deal is probably the best thing going on the right now site. Thanks to all who posted good info here; amazing deal for cash! :D
