Silent Storm and Political Machine were at Big Lots a LONG time ago, I doubt you'd find them now. Evil Genius was around 6-8 months ago, it's possible you could still find it.

If anyone wants me to check my local BLs for certain games, PM me. It's been a week since I've visited any of them, but at the time there were 2-3 copies each of Flatout, Flatout 2, and SiN ep1 and they'd been there for a couple weeks.
Sin Ep 1 is a bargain at twice the price. Good shooter fun. Ain't the best, but it is definitely worth a buy.

And I've never seen Evil Genius or Silent Storm at BL. I'm sure some BL somewhere had them briefly, though...

Political Machine is merely uncommon as far as BL games go. Would've been a lot easier to find a year ago.
x2, I picked up Sin Ep 1. Easily worth the money, its an awesome game.
just thought i'd let you all know the store i work at received like 500 anime dvds this week for $3 each. Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, DBZ, Lupin and others.
Hey, has anyone seen any extra Cowboy Bebop? I have disc 4 and 6 already and have been looking for a good deal on the other volumes. My local Big Lots had some DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho, but that was it.

Yeah it was around a year or two here in Richmond that assortment came and went. I remember Riddick came with that Evil Genius assortment and I was shocked they were all $4. Usually games that show up at Big Lots are well into their liquidation cycle, or in other words have been on the market for 3-5 years.

I've noticed that titles that show up at Big Lots, especially the big budget ones, often find their way back in a later assortment. Kind of like Max Payne 2 which has been disappearing and reappearing for around 2 years, lol. Anyway, point being...dont panic if you miss a particular title on the first go-round, because it may show up again.

I just saw Deus Ex: Invisible War there, and I know it's been quite a while since they last had it.

I just picked up Sin to try out. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who get sick playing some First-Person games. Sin, apparently, is one of those games. Can anyone tell me if this copy of the game is useless now? That is, now that I've registered it on Steam, no one else can ever use it, right or wrong?

I don't believe it's useless. While I haven't tried it myself, my brother has. The system works like Windows Activation, but you have to call a # to get the serial number transferred to the new owner.

Nope.

You have to pay Valve $10 for a new CD Key to be able to use it again someplace else.

I tried to sell it to someone and this is the exact response I got from Valve. Buying a new CD Key was going to cost me more than I even paid for Sin, so I said fuck it.

all the Cowboy Bebop dvd's my store got were the Perfect Sessions one. which is like a greatest hits disc of the creators favorite episodes.

Are you sure? I was able to reinstall my Half Life Anthology set on my new PC, with new hard drive, etc using the original CD key. It wasnt any more trouble than the original install. Their server had to have seen it as a new "location" considering it was all new hardware. Unless they use some other method to ID the user.

Ok. Thanks for the update.

That is simply not true. The Perfect Collections/Sessions are just re-releases of the series, mostly packaged together. Most anime comes out initially as a regular series of releases, then later is repackaged in a 'limited' collection and a 'perfect collection'. Don't let the nomenclature fool you, it's the whole series, not selected episodes. And I think there are 6 or 7 discs in the Bebop 'Perfect' Collection...

Yes, it's called Steam. CD Keys are tied to your Steam account. You can use that account on any computer anywhere on the world, but only that account can use that CD Key. You must have played Half-Life pre-Steam or didn't upgrade to Steam. However, "Half-Life Anthology" only includes the Steam versions of the games; In other words you NEED Steam installed to play. Perhaps you didn't have Half-Life Anthology, but one of the billions of others Half-Life 1 re-release "packs" over the years. Half-Life Anthology at Big Lots definitely needs Steam to play.

It was the Anthology version that I was able to use on 2 different computers. The account name and password would be the hitch in letting someone else play the game I guess. I suppose someone could try changing their user name and acct # to something generic before giving up their used game set, but it probably wouldnt be worth all the hassle. This Steam nonsense almost makes Starforce seem benevolent. Almost.

I think I got the last one at my store, but I'll check again sometime this week.

Awesome. I'd really appreciate that.

Yep, you can use the account on as many computers as you want. Giving up teh account to the other person is an issue because you could have other games on that Account already there. If you ONLY have Half-Life Anthology on the account, I suppose you could give the login details to whomever you want to sell it to, but they would be using your email address or whatever your login name is, which could be a concern. And then what's the point of trying to sell the actual discs? Just sell the login. And what if the person wants to add HL:A to their existing account? Regardless, I agree, it's not worth the trouble.

Made a stop by Big Lots today. Picked up Sin episode 1 for $4.

One game that kinda surprised me was Civilization 3 for $6. To bad I already have it. A couple Auto Assaults and that was about it. Edit: Also a copy of SWAT 4.

Also picked up:
Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta - Chapter 1 + 2
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed - Vol. 1 + 2 and The Empty Battlefield movie
Cowboy Bebop - best sessions

All for $3 apiece.

Camden, SC

I get the Big Lots email newsletter, and I just got an email with the subject line "A new shipment of Big Lots closeouts arrives Sunday, July 1". So, I don't know if that means I'll get the games you guys got or if there is a new shipment that nobody has seen --- or I don't even know if this includes games!!! :booty: ;)
Can anyone hook me up with a copy of half life anthology? My Big Lots didn't have it.
I went to the one in Danville and my local one and neither had it. Sorry.

I just stopped by my local one and snagged

Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 for $6
Dues Ex for $4

No half life anthology there, saw auto assualt and flat out 1 and 2 for $6 ea, also civilation III for $6 hat i almost bought.

Went to two Big Lots (Newark and Milpitas)... no Sins or Flatout 2s, but a BUNCH of Flatout 1s in Miplitas. Found Law & Order: Criminal Intent for $6.
Man, I have been to three Big Lots and haven't found any Cowboy Bebop at all.
All I've found are many copies of the "best sessions" collection, which has six of the best episodes. I had hoped Big Lots was selling the individual DVDs from the complete set. Oh, well.

List of finds today at local BigLots! $6 each

a Law and Order 3 game compilation (didn't notice the titles)
Missing since January
the Moment of Silence (another adventure company game)
Obscure
Roller Coaster Gold
Roller Coaster 3
SiN
SWAT 4
Traitors Gate
Traitors Gate 2
Voyage

Anyone need any of 'em let me know. $10 paypal for one, $18 for two, and we go from there (sorry, but the pc games are a little heavier and paypal fees stink).

A few days ago I picked up Swat 4, Swat 4: The Stechkov Syndicate, and Tribes Vengence. The Swat games were $6, Tribes was $4.

I played a few missions of Swat 4, the game is a blast. I just wish I had a better PC so I could turn up some of the graphics options. :\

As for anime DVDs, I saw a ton of Dragon Ball Z discs. But 3 episodes a piece? I might put up with that crap on newly released anime, but DBZ is old. lol besides the fact I'm not a big DBZ fan anymore.

The DBZ should all be Uncut though. One I got was when Gohan became the Great Saiyaman. Videl's dad was called Mr. Satan and not Hercule and Bulma was smoking. Minor stuff, but worthwhile IMO.

Tribes Vengeance is a BL standby. You can usually find one at most BLs, and it is definitely worth it.

I will continue to maintain that Space Colony is worth it, too, but that's just me.

Neither of mine up in Fort Wayne have anime though, dammit. I'll have to see if I can find some anime back home... if there's any left.

YOU DA MAN! Going to stop by here on the way home. THANKS!

Kepp in mind that on the anime, they generally have many copies of a single volume in stock for each series, so you're not likely to be getting much variety or completing any sets. At least that's how it is at locations near me. For example, they had only the last disc of the Wolf's Rain series, but about 6-8 copies of that one. I think the only thing they had a variety of was Dragonball Z.

I found a copy of Sin, but it was open box. The cashier let me have it for $3, the same price of the anime dvds I was buying, but can anyone tell me how many disks it is? Was there some sort of bonus dvds or anything like that?

I just opened my sealed copy. Only one disc.

Alright, thanks. I was a bit worried becase this type of case looks like it could have included some more disks. Hopefully the cd key has not been tampered with or anything like that.

I saw an open box in San Leandro of Sin, but was lucky enough to find an unopened one --- wanted to make sure nobody took the key. let us know how it works out...

Cold War - $6
StarCraft "Best Seller Series" - $6
The Godfather: The Game - $6
Pitfall: The Lost Expedition - $6
City of Villains - $6 (Previously at Big Lots, but back again it seems)
Mall Tycoon 2 - $6
Airport Tycoon 3 - $6

And some other crap, none worth mentioning. StarCraft is a must-buy if you never played it. Although the expansion is just as good, it'd be nice if Big Lots got that, too. They might, I know the expansion is part of the "Best Seller Series", too.

EB and GameStop were selling the Starcraft Battle Chest for $10 for most of June. I'm not sure if it's still at that price, but it's definitely a better deal if it is.

Unless I find The Godfather, I'm not seeing anything on that list that I need, especially since I haven't actually gotten around to my last few Big Lots purchases. There's always the next shipment, though... :)

True, the battle chest is a better buy. It's been clearanced everywhere for a while, it may be harder to find now.
I saw an open box in San Leandro of Sin, but was lucky enough to find an unopened one --- wanted to make sure nobody took the key. let us know how it works out...
Didnt work out so well. It was the disk acutally, cant get through the instalation :( Dont even know if the CD key will work or not. I guess I'll have to return it whenever I get the chance.

If you punch the CD-Key into Steam, you can just download the game through Steam. I don't have a DVD drive, so that's the only way I could've gotten it.

I'm a big Godfather the game fan, so much that I bought it on PS2, and then bought it on Wii. This one comes from similar EA minds that brought us the sublime 007:EoN, so I'd say it is worth the money. However, a GTA-a-like might not be for everyone. If you're on the fence, do some research, but at least keep in mind that I at least gave it two thumbs up.
The PC version of The Godfather is only compatible with a few controllers and using only the keyboard / mouse combo is impossible for fighting. I would keep the $6 for a rainy day if you don't have a compatible controller.

It's so fucking stupid considering that Windows XP recognizes many more controllers, but the game only recognizes a few.
Acutally it's over 10 controllers, including the most popular like my Logitech Dual Action.
Acutally it's over 10 controllers, including the most popular like my Logitech Dual Action.
There's a way to get some of the unsupported Controllers going.
You have to EDIT the Default.INI file, basically....

Of course, always back-up your original INI file, just in case something goes wrong.

Theres a thread on EA's boards on how some got other unsupported controllers going. Click here to go find the thread on how some gamers got some OTHER controllers going on Godfather PC....

For those who have the same PC gamepad controller I have -- The Logitech Wingman Rumble Pad US -- just Copy and paste this AFTER all of the game code already there, ADDING this at the end of the Default.INI file.

This is the controller, BTW.
