Blockbuster 5 for $20 Sale (Previously Viewed)

Starting tuesday/possibly friday through 6/6, blockbuster will have 5/$20 on all previously viewed :dvd: & :br: movies priced $9.99 or less.

Supposedly you need a password to take advantage of this sale beginning 5/17 but its not necessary, sale for everyone begins friday 5/20

Is Christmas Carol, Salt, and Expebdables part of the sale? I was there 2 days ago and those movies were not $9.99

These 2 were listed for $5.99 at one of my blockbusters. They had one display where no circle price tags were on them but instead there was a white sqaure sticker over their barcode stickers, so I asked the guy what that meant and he said all them were $5.99. I never seen them listed under $6.99 before so I was thinking wtf. I bought a couple of them and they don't scan the actual movie but a special barcode they have behind the counter for those titles.

I tried watching Blind Side (which has the RENTAL printed on cover and disc) but my PS3 motor was making a long running noise, same thing happened with Sherlock Holmes (also has the RENTAL on the cover and disc). I thought it was my PS3 but I threw in XMEN Wolverine, and it loaded right up and started. Anyone else having this problem with their Blind Side and Sherlock Holmes? I will have to drive 30 minutes to return these if there isnt a work around.

edit: Thought it may be the disc, but verified both movies were working on my second PS3. Went to retry the first PS3, and had to wiggle the disc on load, and eventually it ended up loading correctly and video playback.

Yeah...it was the second one I opened...but alas, the only one in the bunch.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to The Kids Are All Right...Eat Pray Love?...not so much.
 
The no glue ones are from the online rental biz. 4 of mine didnt have them, they also had the "Netflix" style sleeve tucked behind the blue colored insert.
 
So I called my local blockbuster to see if they were running the 2.99 bluray sale, the employee said no. But, when I went in yesterday they must have had 20 huge boxes of something stacked behind the counter. Should I try again tomorrow?
 
I believe the places that didn't receive the big shipments of Blu-Ray's are not getting the 3.99 > 2.99 > .99 deal. I tried calling two stores in my area which never received extra Blu-Ray shipments. They acknowledged that there was a .99 cent sale on DVD's, but not Blu-Ray's. The one store that did receive a box of extra Blu-Ray's has indeed been having the sale and the Blu-Ray's will be .99 cents tomorrow.

tl;dr stores that received extra Blu-Ray's will be having the .99 cent sale while the ones that didn't will only have a .99 cent sale on DVD's only.

Someone definitely needs to buy extras for people here. All of the Blockbuster stores within a 75 mile radius are gone. My friend scored a few at a store about 90 miles away from here (he was visiting a friend), but there's nothing here :(

STopped by my store tonight to gauge my chances tomorrow morning and they were closed but they still had at least 50 on the table and i knocked to wave to the employee because he's cool and he said there were a ton in the back still so I'm pretty happy with my chances.

According to the second of Hawaiiboy's posts, that Animal quoted, BRs will only drop to $1.99 on Monday. Only the dvds on sale will drop to .99 cents.

BTW, only 2 out of the 3 stores that I checked received a shipment. The first store had all the DVDs and BRs in front of the store in boxes and containers.

I want to know this also as the 3 I've gone to (Venice Blvd, Pasadena both) only have 5 for 20 as well.

No dice at my local store for 99 cents - even though I called and they said it was on the day before. at least i got a few deals on B1G1 games.
 
Neither of the two closest Blockbusters had $.99 Blu-ray, only a giant display of DVDs. :( One store still had half the stock in boxes which I of course dug around in; all DVDs there too. That didn't stop me from buying 11 anyways, some of them I already own on blu-ray so I'll just stick them in 2-disc cases as makeshift combo packs.
