Oh, also thought I should mention there were a few TV show seasons mixed in with the DVDs. Specifically, I saw Lost Season 2 and Breaking Bad Season 3 at $.99/DVD. If either were Season 1 I may have bought them, but I don't want random seasons sitting on my shelf.

So if you don't mind DVDs, it may be worthwhile to flip through them even if your store has the $.99 blu-rays. I'm also curious if they have TV series on blu-ray.

If anyone grabbed any copies of anything they bought for. 99I may pay double. Depends what they are. I'm not looking for anything in particular but if I already have It or it holds no interest whatsoever. But most titles do. Please pm me
This is one crazy sell.
Most of the BBV closed and one only carry DVD for $.99:cry:
One of mine had 99 cent Blus and one didn't. They both had things set up stupid. I was buying blus and next to the table is another table with 5 for 20 DVDs with the same movies only 3 dollars more. I got kind of annoyed because there were a lot of blus that were on the 99 cent table and the 5 for 20 table. I asked the manager if they were all included he said only Blus that have no sticker are 99 cnets. I felt like being a dick and just start pulling stickers off but I didn't.
Neither of the two closest Blockbusters had $.99 Blu-ray, only a giant display of DVDs. :( One store still had half the stock in boxes which I of course dug around in; all DVDs there too. That didn't stop me from buying 11 anyways, some of them I already own on blu-ray so I'll just stick them in 2-disc cases as makeshift combo packs.

For anyone interested, here's what I ended up with:

All About Steve
Leap Year
How to Lose Friends and Alienate People
Valentine's Day
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Fame
The Vampire's Assitant
Carriers
Jennifer's Body
Amelia
The Darwin Awards
That's a pretty good deal for a $1 each even if they're DVDs. Going to go check out my local store when they open at 10 here in Calif. Hope to find blu-rays but I'll settle for decent dvds.

Yea, sadly my Blockbuster only had .99 cent DVDs as well. And most of them were pretty crappy. I was hoping that all of the 5 for 20 blus, would go down to .99 but apparently that wasn't the case and it was only the select stock from other stores.

No $0.99 Blu-ray at the 2 Blockbuster's within a decent driving distance, Abington and Maple Glen , PA

Grabbed 5 for $20 Blus
District 9
Hurt Locker
Valkyrie
Rocky Balboa
Sherlock Holmes

This is more than likely a really stupid question, but when you buy blank blu-ray cases does it have the plastic on the outside so the artwork can be placed in it? I've never bought blank cases for blus or dvds so I'm not to sure how it all works. Also where would a good place to buy them from for pretty cheap? I also picked up 36 blu rays today for 99 cents each I was so excited when I saw that hardly anything was picked over.

Flip through the first 5 or 6 pages here there should be some links to blank blu-ray cases. And yes from what I can tell they have the plastic cover to put cover art in. I went to Best Buy but all they had in store was 10 double disc blu-ray cases. I need to find some empty ones too.

I've bought about 60+ blank blu-ray cases from them and I'm completely satisfied. These are exactly like the retail cases and it comes with the clear plastic outside so you can slip in the artwork.

I would go with the Viva Elite over the premium ones as they are a little thicker and feel sturdier.

Just wanted to add that there are a lot of TV seasons included in the $1 sale. They are $1 a disc so you might have to dig to put together a full season. I got Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles for $3. Band of Brothers, Greys Anatomy, and True Blood Season 2 are also included. Only 3 discs of Band of Brothers at my BB but if someone wants discs 1,3, and 6 on BR they are there for your taking. True Blood was missing a disc and actually gone but the clerk told me they had it.

They have more stock to keep putting out too. I have gotten about 25 BR's so far, including some newer releases like The American, Boondock Saints II, and the Twilight series (for the gf of course!).

There were tons to go around so I pretty much bought one of everything remotely interesting + it is not worth the effort to repack and re-sell movies to make $2 lol, so save some for your fellow CAGs.

Dish is apparently emptying out the stock from all the closed stores. There were a lot of closures around here for what its worth.

Confirmed in Reno area. Just got back from one and they had a bunch of good stuff. I reluctantly put down a bunch of the Bond blus, but I had to limit myself lol

Picked up:
Karate Kid (2010)
Million Dollar Baby
August Rush
Expendables
The Chronicles of Narnia
Be Kind Rewind
Crimson Wing
Pirate Radio
Bruno
Adventureland
The Heartbreak Kid
17 Again
Going the Distance
Up in the Air
The Ghost Writer
Harold & Kumar Escape from Gbay

The Informant
Killers

I called a couple of other stores, 1 in which is around the corner from my house, and they got the BR's for this sale and haven't even put them out...WTF what a waste.

I can confirm the Blockbuster on Fry Road in Katy, Texas has .99 blus. It was pretty picked through when I went around 12:00 and there were people with 60 plus stacks including employees. I picked up:

I asked the girl working if they had anymore BR's in the back and she said they did, but they were saving them for another 99 cent BR sale scheduled for the 4th of July. :whistle2:(
Anaheim on euclid and katella is having the sale!

Picked up 17 blu's
How is the selection at that locations? Do they still have a lot?
How is the selection at that locations? Do they still have a lot?
It's a pretty good selection. It's only one table but there are several different tittles. The lady that works there also said she has another box full of blu's left.

I ended up buying 36 BRs at .99 cents each. I saw most of the same people at both stores I checked out. I laughed when I overheard a guy tell another that the sale wasn't going on at another store but that same guy was at that store when I got there.

At the second store, there was another guy that was dragging around a big tub full of Blu-rays. We were all waiting around for him to decide wether he was going to buy them or not. He ended up buying what must have been well over 100 BRs.

I got 36 films.

Sorry in advance for the long post. Please don't quote this long post and clog up the thread. I wish right now I knew how to use that "Show Spoilers" function.

Here's my blu ray purchases for those interested in whats out there. About half of the stuff I bought was stuff the stores only had 1 or 2 copies of though. I could have literally bought around 1,000 different blu ray titles. I had the first pick at two different stores. One of the stores still had all the 99 cent blu ray boxes in the back room. The employees let me rummage through the boxes before they even put them out on the floor. I must have said "thank you" like 40 times.

If I had more money, I'd probably buy even more stuff. For 99 cent blu rays, I'm going to have to put off paying some bills.

When making/editing a post, highlight the text and click the last button above the text box... It looks like an emoticon holding his finger to his mouth saying 'shhhh.' That will insert the spoiler tags around your text. You could also type [ SPOILER ] in front and [ /SPOILER ] at the end of your body of text; without the spaces inside the brackets of course.

So what I'm starting to hear is that a lot of Blockbusters actually do have $.99 blu-rays, but aren't putting them out until a later sale? How disappointing! I don't want to wait!

I stumbled on one today that hadn't put them out and ended up with over 50 blu's! I'm sure I got doubles of a couple, by accident, LOL! But I still I could have found 9/Mean Girls! :(

Nice haul so what location was this? My closest one in Delaware only got the dvds.

99-cent sale not happening at the Fleming Island, FL location (yes, I asked an employee), nor does it appear that they received any new stock.

one 5 minutes from me isn't having it but a location 20 minutes away from me is hmmm gf wants to go though so I have to wait until 2pm here. Hope they still have good movies left at that time!

I called my local Blockbusters and they said they aren't doing 99 cent BRD. So I take it this is YMMV? Or is it more akin to employees not knowing what is going on??

ok went to a 2nd store...here's my other haul

From what I've gathered after googling it... Apparently some BBVs got boxes of BD's shipped to them specifically for this sale. Rumor is the highest-selling stores got them.

I finally found a store about 12 miles away that is doing it, but they haven't put the discs out yet, probably tomorrow, they said.
