Welcome to the Official CAG Blu-Ray/DVD Coupons and Rebates Thread

WE DO NOT HAVE PDFS OF THE COUPON PRINTING COUPONS, THE COUPONS ARE INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED

Please keep trade and other off topic chatter to a minimum. It is healthy and unless it gets out of hand or really off topic or in a direction that is heading towards fraud or illegal actions, please do not worry.

The Disney Movie Rewards site has changed, the coupon printing is now associated with your account, printing 2 times per account is now the limit, as well as per computer. This was tested at the end of the Toy Story craze a while back. If you know someone else with an account, see if you can have them print their extra coupons if you need them.

(not available/valid for online or for in-store pick-up). Coupon indicates it's restricted to regular priced items only, however it automatically works at the register on sale/discounted items, but as always YMMV on that.

$19.99 for Iron Man: Extremis and Spider Woman: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Blu-Ray (Coupon is only good for June 17 & 18 and only valid at Best Buy!)[/CUSTOMSPOILER]
So for those of us that didn't get an Amazon pre-order in, what's the best deal on Tangled?
Probably Target with the DMR coupon -- after the coupon, it'll be $19.99.
Picked up the 2 disc combo and the free plush at BB for $14.99. I'm content.
Oh shit, somehow I completely missed the free plush. I would have totally paid the extra $3 for that. Oh well, not worth the effort of doing the return to Amazon at this point. :whistle2:(
Does anyone know for sure if there will be some kind of DMR coupon for "Tron"? I'm holding off on preordering just in case.
Looks like Target's the place to go to for Tron next week. There's going to be a $5 coupon off Tron Legacy (probably DMR). Then if you get both Trons, you'll get $8 off. I just cancelled my Amazon order for the 5-disc set that had both.

If you frequent TRU, be on the look out for these coupons

It's a one by one inch sticker placed on DVD's.

It's a TRU store coupon
Image3.jpg

Coupon could be used with other offers. Was able to use this coupon, DMR coupon, Tangled pre order coupon and Cars pre order bonus to knock off $20 at my store today.

Just bought the last copy of Tangled 4 disc 3D Blu Ray for $14.99 before tax. I used the $5 off coupon from the Target spring mailer and the $5 off DMR coupon.

of course my copy from amazon got "lost in the mail," so I went to target to try to get one b&m to watch tonight and they were sold out...

my replacement should come tomorrow from amazon..

Bought the 2 Disc Tangled at Target for 14.99 after DMR coupon. They were all out of 4 disc BR packs so I figured I'd try the coupon on a 2 Disc pack and it rang up the $5 discount automatically. No extra button presses at the register, no overrides, just worked like it was meant to have worked that way.

You almost had me until I remembered how awful TRU is with stacking coupons and returning pre-orders. Never again, fuck them.

I haven't seen this posted yet. Tangled Blu-dvd combo pack is $26.99 at Kmart. After the coupon you pay $21.99 + tax and get a free Disney Rapunzel doll ($14.99 value). If you have a little girl, I think this is the best deal out there.
prim, do we have next weeks info yet?
I could have sworn the TRU prices for next week were already posted...

IIRC, Tron Legacy was same price as Target, Troc Classic was $5 higher, and there was no other discount

The doll was gone within minutes of opening from what I've read online. None around here, unfortunately.

The 4-disc 3D version is $29.99 if anyone wants to give Kmart a shot.

Target is cheaper by $5 on the Blu-Ray. The Cars pre-order and DMR coupon will still bring the 3D combo down to $19.99 along with the graphic novel.
So is the CARS preorder at TRU the original cars movie reissued or is it a sequel? I saw the preorder card today for $10 off.
It's a reissue but in a Blu/DVD combo pack

Well, crap. Just tried playing the Tangled 3D blu-ray, and got the following message:

This disc has recognized that your player and/or display does not support 3D playback.

To begin your 3D experience, please insert this disc into a 3D-enabled Blu-ray player and connect to a 3D-enabled TV display with an HDMI cable, or insert your disc into a 3D-enabled computer with a Blu-ray drive.
This is on my PS3 and my 3D-compatible TV (Samsung LN46C750), with recently updated cables (my girlfriend needed some HDMI cables for her non-3D setup, so I gave her my old ones and bought new ones for myself, knowing that I was going need to upgrade them sooner or later anyway) -- which probably means what I was afraid of, that my older Yamaha receiver isn't 3D compatible. Dammit.

Really annoying though that you apparently can't even watch the blu-ray in 2D mode without all of the 3D hardware. Glad I found this out with a combo-pack (first time I've ever been happy for a combo-pack, I think) rather than with a 3D-only release.

I guess that pretty much also ends the debate on which version to watch if you bought the set but don't have all of the 3D hardware yet.

Guess it's time to start shopping receivers . . . :bomb:

just a head's up/reminder that today (3/31) is the final date for the $5 coupon for 'the fighter'. i'd recommend getting a copy at target. right now it's 29.99 which would make it 24.99 after coupon, but in the ad for next week that has been leaked it is down to 17.99 which would make the final price 12.99 after a price-adjustment.

Target Stores Price Adjustment Policy

• If Target advertises a lower price either the same week or the week following your purchase, bring in your original sales receipt to Guest Services for an adjustment.

just do hdmi out directly to your tv from the ps3 and digital audio out to the receiver. if that doesn't work then do audio out from the tv to the receiver.

I don't mind keeping my 5-disc pre-order on Amazon, but I'm afraid that when Amazon goes and price matches Target's ad, they'll ignore the 5-disc set since that isn't listed. If that's the case, then that version IMO becomes grossly overpriced, since you'll be getting less and paying more.

Guess I'll take my chances and hope if that's the case that a friendly amazon CS rep will price adjust for me afterwards.
just do hdmi out directly to your tv from the ps3 and digital audio out to the receiver. if that doesn't work then do audio out from the tv to the receiver.
Yeah, it gets complicated because I've only got two digital audio inputs on the receiver (one coaxial and one toslink), and they're already taken up by other devices (the computer on the coaxial, and the PS2 on the toslink). So unless I want to get into cable swapping . . .

Anyway, I wasn't posting as much to bitch about my personal problems as I was to warn those people who think they're going to watch the 3D blu-ray in 2D on their 2D setup that it isn't happening.

I wonder if that happens with all 3D blu-rays (this is my first one), or if this one is coded that way in particular. I would expect at the very least that Tron: Legacy will be that way as well.

Appears as if Disney is not only dropping the coupon values but now pushing them to only be used on 3d blu bundle versions also.

Also thanks to Disneyboi81 at blu ray forum in case anyone hasn't seen this yet

Pinochio Blu-ray Exchange Program
I was contacted by Disney Home Video this morning about the missing lines during "Give A Little Whistle" in Pinochio and they have corrected the issue. To start the exchange call 800-723-4763 and they will send you out an envelope to mail-in your Blu-ray and send you the corrected one after your disc is recevied.

To add to this have the disc's case ready as they will need some numbers off the spine conversely #100057 if you don't have access to your case. They told me they will send a postage paid mailer to return only the movie blu and then send a replacement disc out.

I mentioned it in the stickied thread.

No word if this includes the DVD, since it has the missing line, too.

They likely issued the BR coupon to get people to purchase higher profit Blu-Ray movies. Now it looks like they are trying to get people to buy 3d.

I hope they go back to the old coupons for the combos. I don't care if it is only $8. Better than nothing which is what I'm getting now.

Gah...Cannot find a Tangled blu (3D or regular) at any of my nearby Targets. Any chance they will restock before the sale price ends Saturday?
Gah...Cannot find a Tangled blu (3D or regular) at any of my nearby Targets. Any chance they will restock before the sale price ends Saturday?
If it's an item in the ad flier that's on sale, you can rain check it and get it for the sale price another time.

If it's a TPR (Temporary Price Reduction), then it's not rain-checkable. Sale items from the ad flier, yes.

It'll also print on the rain check where the nearest stores that have the item in-stock as of that morning.

You can watch the 3D Tangled Blu-ray in your 2D setup. It's what I did and the much more detailed backgrounds are a lot better than the blurry 2D-only disc imo.

You have to rip the disc with a program like AnyDVD first, and then you can play it back on your PC with the restrictions removed. One way to do it use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema, navigate to the playlist folder, then select the 0004.mpls file. This is the "left eye" (2D) stream on the 3D disc.

Although as mentioned there is the issue of some black bars on the sides. Another benefit to using MPC-HC is extensive panning, cropping, and moving the picture around options. You can crop it slightly to get rid of the black borders.

You can also remux that playlist file into a format that the PS3 can read and then watch that file on your PS3 that way. There's always workarounds for dumb format restrictions like this.

*New coupons on Coupons.com-- Haven't seen this mentioned yet. Apologies if it has been...

Blu - Ray -- $3 off
Because of Winn Dixie
The Robe

I vaguely recall seeing some of these at Target the other day for decent prices, but don't recall what they were....

Any word on an Incredibles coupon? Its out on the 12th, and I'm hoping I can get it for less than $20.

Yeah, I really don't want to pay the $30 my Amazon pre-order has it at.

High traffic Target near my office had five 4-disc copies of Tangled today (but no 2-discs, oddly), and I've heard other locations here had plenty as well, so it looks like they did restock. If you're still looking to take advantage of the sale and the DMR coupon, looks like you have a good chance of finding some tomorrow.

Hate to be a downer, but "no rain checks" is printed on the sale signs for all copies of Tangled.

Erm, ok, yeah, if you really want to go to all of that effort. ;) I'm not that interested in watching the 3D disc in 2D, I just wanted to test it to see what it looked like.

And we've been through the depth of field discussion already, so I'm not going to recap all of it, but the "blurry" backgrounds are blurry for a reason (google "depth of field"). If you're going to watch it in 2D, then the 2D disc is the way to go.

What the hell target? They link to the DMR coupon for most of the week and then do this later after most sales have already occurred? Actually, tricky good from a business standpoint, but it still feels like dirty pool to me since I bought day one with just the DMR coupon. I tore up my left knee, so reprinting a DMR coupon, and this one and using gas driving a stick shift with a bum knee to a nearby target which MAY still have one in stock and again hit a YMMV where the DMR coupon is applied to the 2 disc doesn't seem worth the effort trying to get it for ten instead of fifteen.

Wow thanks. Wasn't planning on getting it with only a $5 Manufacturer coupon, but add this in and $14.99 for the 4pack is great. Clerk was confused how I found the 3D version in stock, it was in the row labeled "Bambi" but once I pulled it out, all the copies behind were normal Tangled :br: copies

My first 3D purchase, no TV of course, but I wanted to try out both 3D/2D discs

Most Targets around Atlanta seem to restock Thurs. or Friday. I stopped at the Douglasville one tonight shortly before closing and they had a ton.

Just got back from Target and paid only $21.53 for both Tron films. I had the DMR coupon (-$5), a Target Disney Bluray coupon (-$3), save when you bought both (-$8), my employee discount (-$2.90), and Redcard discount (-$1.05), plus tax (+$1.50). Good deal for both films.

Obviously I can't get the employee or Redcard discounts, but where did you find the Target Disney Blu-ray coupon?

I guess it's a foregone conclusion that buying each movie separately (either through the above Target deal or Amazon) is cheaper than the 5-disc combo set?
Picked up the 3D pack for Legacy and Tron Classic 2-disc for $31.98 before tax. Rep scanned both the movies, then scanned the coupon. Worked without any issue.

If people are planning on returning one to keep the other movie, the $8 discount is split out proportionally between the two movies. It deducts $3.55 from Tron Classic and $4.45 from Tron Legacy 3D, so your return value is $16.44 for Tron Classic and $20.54 for Tron Legacy 3D. For Tron Legacy 2-disc and Tron Classic, it's $4 off each, so it would be $15.99 for each of the two returned on their own.

The $5 coupon showed up on the bottom of the purchase list, so I would guess that you wouldn't get any of the coupon refund back unless you returned both movies back to Target. Might split it up proportionally, might not.
The $3 off coupon was a coupon my wife received when she checked out last week. It was four $3 off any Disney Bluray and it printed at the register.

Got the 4-disc Tron Legacy and the original with the $8 off and the $5 DMR coupon...and .05 for using a reusable bag. $34 something with tax.

I actually stood there for a while asking myself: "Do I actually LIKE these movies?" The original has its retro charms, but its numerous flaws are well documented. And I liked Legacy more than most, but I think a lot of that had to do with its very effective use of IMAX 3D....and Daft Punk. So I'm going to sit on them for a couple days and decide whether I want to keep them or not.

How are the bonus features?
