Welcome to the Official CAG Blu-Ray/DVD Coupons and Rebates Thread

WE DO NOT HAVE PDFS OF THE COUPON PRINTING COUPONS, THE COUPONS ARE INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED

Please keep trade and other off topic chatter to a minimum. It is healthy and unless it gets out of hand or really off topic or in a direction that is heading towards fraud or illegal actions, please do not worry.

The Disney Movie Rewards site has changed, the coupon printing is now associated with your account, printing 2 times per account is now the limit, as well as per computer. This was tested at the end of the Toy Story craze a while back. If you know someone else with an account, see if you can have them print their extra coupons if you need them.

^^ it gets better if you read it regularly. But let the other people yell, at the end of the day, you are just trying to be helpful :)
I found the coupon thread a very tough read.....
most do. People have voiced their opinion of how you should just continuously read the thread and you won't miss the deals. I disagree (and I Looove shrike) but he will merge this into that thread whenever he gets a chance. I try too follow it but in the end I just go to slickdeals or highdefdigest to find out about coupons.

Again thanx. I pray the transfer is top notch and disney gets their expected sales so we can see more of the director's work hit the blu scene!!:D

Agreed! I definitely want to see Mononoke Hime on Blu :D

Thanks OP. I never would have known either.

I like Miazaki movies and Naussica in particular holds some nostalgia value for me. Why, just thinking about the crazy sandworms and the cool glider and that badass old man...it takes me back to my college days...but you know what I hate?

Putting shit like this on my computer. "Install our Coupon Printing Software". What? NO. Maybe I'm just a paranoid old man but I don't want the Disney government stealing my secret informantions! Plus, who wants all this garbage on their computer?!

Signing up for an account is one thing but installing coupon printing software, ugh...

I really want this Blu. I guess I'll choose "fuck it. Just mail my fuckin' coupons" and see what happens.

Here's hoping Mononoke and Howl's show up on Blu someday soon too.
I tried to print the Bambi coupon, but my printer crapped out. Is there any way to print another?
Call dmr and they can mail you a coupon.
Thanks, OP. I don't read that coupon thread, either. It's a total pain in the ass.
that is my fault, i have had alot of stuff come up and have not updated the op lately. am going to get the op up to date very soon. like tonight or tomorrow.

the coupons.com printer app is fine. i really dont get why people have such a hard time with it. years ago, it used to do some weird stuff. they had to clean it up but companies use it because of the people who abuse the hell out of coupons from websites that are not individually numbered. sometimes i wish they would up the limit to like 4 or something but thats what multiple computers are for.

And agree with ya about paranoid people and a coupon printer. It is in place to keep order, not cause dis-order and problems!!

I understand the need for the app, believe me. I've been cashiering at Walgreen's since I was laid off. People abuse coupons there like no tomorrow for toothpaste and deodorant. God only knows what one of these people would do for a Blu Ray...

I don't abuse deals - I'm not looking to get the Blu for fifty-eight cents or something through some tomfoolery - but because people do that sort of thing I have to install some junk on my computer I may only use once.

Ahh, hell. Just ignore my old man rant. haha. It's time for my metamucil anyways. :oldman:

Restatement of the coupons available on coupons.com:

$4 off DVD or BD:

$3 off DVD or BD:

$5 off BD:

There's some decent deals to be had on the BD versions of some movies right now at Best Buy B&M (Thelma and Louise @ $14.99, Ever After @ $12.99, Something About Mary @ $12.99) as well as next week (Easy A @ $13.99, Eat Pray Love @ $13.99) and these coupons.

FWIW- Several of these titles are 8.99-12.99 at Fry's starting today.
IF (and it's a huge if as Fry's acceptance of Manf. Coups is legendarily YMMV) you can get the coupons to work there it's a huge deal.

If not, it's easier to price match the Fry's ads or try and PM at Target and then try using the coupons.

This weeks fry's bargain :br:s credit to Fidodido and his thread:
Walmart also takes the coupon without any issue at the register, as it scans at the register without any issue like Target. They'll also do PM + manufacturer coupon, since they get reimbursed for it. That's why whenever these coupons show up, I always to go Target or Walmart for the no-hassle checkout.

I have no idea why they won't either. If it was one of their coupons, that's one thing, though they're getting their money back on a manufacturer coupon, so I don't know why they have such issues with them. All the more reason why I go to Target or Walmart when manufacturer coupons come out.
I've had problems with my local Wal-Mart for the past year and half now with the Disney coupons. Before they ALWAYS did a PM and used the coupon with no questions. Now they are hard nosed about it and will NOT do anything with them. It's one or the other. I've tried explaining the logic that they are getting reimbursed for the coupon by Disney and the Price Matching is their own policy. They keep saying "We are loosing too much money so we can't do it." Wal-Mart corporate has been no help, they send notes to the store and Assistant Managers call me saying they approve both to use, and when I go to the store and speak to associates and the same assistant manager on the phone they balk and say they defer to the store manager who says NO WAY.

Big load of steaming $hit.
I have the coupons printed, is it time to cancel my Amazon orders for Bambi and Nasicaa?
I'm waiting to see what the sales will be the first week.

Yeah getting a pm & dmr coupon stack is a frekin pain at select walsmarts.

I had to double fight last week for Alice on Blu.

1rst to get a pm without the ad( you don't really need a paper ad as long as there is one at csm station or the cs desk)

2nd using the coupon because "coupon can't be used with any other promotion" label on the printout.(note to self: cut that out nxt time)

Luckily they allowed both as long as the coupon scanned (it did with a little trouble).

Fight for you right to stack,
If they're smart they lose the profit for the sale and hopefully future sales

(hint: make friends with a cashier/electronic manager/photo tech/ electronic floor associate...just don't abuse the relationship)

If not, well Ef wit them by buying a memory card that look like it's been open and fill it with porn and have a grade-A meltdown return...actually don't do it you might get in trouble with LP.

OTT ps: anywhere can I get a "professional cheap @ss" t-shirt

For my coupon use on items between Target and Walmart, I opt for Target mainly because it's quicker to find the new releases at Target than Walmart for the ones I normally frequent.
I'm waiting to see what the sales will be the first week.
Same here, though unless it's under $14.99 AC and after tax, I'm sticking to my Amazon pre-order. I doubt it'll be, though we'll know in a couple of weeks of what they are.
Ever After is $9.99 at BJs Wholesale Club (if anyone else is around one).
Hmm. Does BJs accept coupons like this one? I've never tried (only used their store coupons before), and while I have a membership, the store is far enough out of the way for me that I'd like to have some idea what to expect before running over there.

BJ's definitely takes manufacturer's coupons, but Costco does not. When the live-action AiW came out last year I used the DMR coupon and an in-store coupon and got it for $9 plus tax. I also grabbed The Great Mouse Detective on DVD for $6.99 with a $3 off any Disney DVD DMR coupon last year as well.
Traditional DMR coupon for Nausicaa. I know nothing about this movie but will be a blind buy since its studio Ghibli!
Then you're in for a treat. This is one of Ghibli's best.

Price-matched Easy A at Target and got it for $9.99 no hassle with coupon. Got Ever After for $6.99 at BJ's with coupon as well, no problem.

what is studio ghibli? is it those anime people under disney?

lets say i thought poyo was an abomination, and dislike anime in general, would i like this?

Studio Ghibli is an anime studio in Japan. Right now disney is importing the movies and publishing them with hired american voice actors. I've seen probably half a dozen of the movies. I liked Ponyo the least but then Ponyo was made for small children. This one being released now is much better IMO. The best I've seen is Spirited Away, that movie is just fucking fantastic. The Cat Returns and Howls Moving Castle are both decent. Nausicaa is a decent one too. A lot of people are waiting for Princess Mononoke but I personally prefer Nausicaa - I think I like it better because of the flight and it seems more whimsical while Mononoke just seemed kind of dull to me.

Well, it sounds like you hate joy, so no. ;)

In all seriousness, if you dislike anime, Hayao Miyazaki's (the originator of Studio Ghibli and the creator of most its output) films, while the pinnacle of the form IMO, are probably not going to sway you. Still, it's worth a shot. As others have recommended, I'd start with Spirited Away and work out from there. If you don't enjoy that one, there's no hope for you. ;)

I will say that I'm a massive Miyazaki/Ghibli fan (for the record, I LOVED Ponyo, but yes, it is aimed primarily at kids) and Nausicaa leaves me a little cold. It's one of his earliest films and it suffers from pacing issues (I fell asleep in two separate attempts to watch it before finally making it through) and is a bit preachy (so is Princess Mononoke, but that film has a lot of freaky stuff and gruesome violence to snap you back to attention pretty regularly). But it certainly has its adherents.
Question about the coupon will i be able to use it with the Amazon pre-order or should i just assume the pre order price is the best.
You can use it at Amazon. Just put the coupon with a self-addressed stamped envelope in an envelope and mail it to:

Amazon Industry
c/o Gladys Giffords
1614 W Pike St.
Seattle, WA 98052

Then in 8-12 weeks you'll get a form to fill out where you confirm that the coupon matches a specified item on the order number. Return it to Amazon and wait about 4 weeks and it'll be credited to your account.

Is this a joke?
Is this a joke?
Ya, it's gotta be. Someone quoted that on another forum and said that address is actually for some random Gamestop.

Really? You thought I was serious? I just pulled that out of my ass. Amazon is a digital retailer that keeps prices down by not having to hire floor workers or deal with coupons or store presences.

Oh well.

Also, DMR's Facebook page hinted at a Tangled coupon. No details yet.
TRU has their $5 pre-order deal going on, but I'm hesitant unless I see there's a good deal there. I got burned last time reserving Toy Story 3 there.

I finally decided to print the $3 off Say Anything coupon. BB currently has it on-sale for $12.99, but it's not in any ad. Now to see if I can get BB to use it without giving me a problem...

They just hit F7 on the register for Manufacturer Coupon and enter the amount of the coupon.

Thanks for the reassure, I'll give it a go sometime this week.

EDIT:
Just got back from BB, got Say Anything and Thelma & Louise each for $9.99 with coupons, no hassle, cashier was very nice. :)

Ymmv but my local Sam's Club was selling The last unicorn for $13.98 earlier than the release date listed everywhere else of 2/22/11 picked it up for my kids.

Some of the coupon.com coupons don't have the "not valid on sale prices" wording on them so Best Buy wouldn't have grounds not to accept them even if they read all the fine print. Off the top of my head I think Easy A and Grownups did have the wording, but the $3 off coupons like Say Anything didn't. And if anyone wants say anything but doesn't care about bluray, Best buy currently has the DVD for $5 before the coupon.
Anyone know of a MegaMind coupon?
I highly doubt it Dreamworks very seldom has coupons and if they do it'll be much later after the initial release.

They did it for Shrek The Final Chapter but it was like a month after the release.

Doesn't Amazon ship the movies before you can cancel normally? I'm starting to get worried about my Bambi pre-order. I'm thinking I"ll just cancel all my movie pre-orders from them. I remember reading about all kinds of unfortunate experiences people have had here. Plus, we've already seen TRU have the price "accidently" at $19.99 on their site before they changed it to full price.

They also did one for one of the Madagascar :br: releases, it ran in a half page advert. in newspapers, IIRC the weekend after the release.

I'm not buying this one until it is super cheap, if at all.
