Borderlands 2 - Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep - 6/25 - 800 pts.
This might be far fetched but would anyone pay MS Points for Gold Keys? I honestly feel like they could make a killing if they put it on the MS Store. 5 keys for 80 points ( $1.00 ).

Thoughts?

I feel like I would rather pay 80 points and get my keys immediately instead of waiting and waiting for Pitchford to post more codes, usually always too late to redeem them as well :/
yeah but then ppl will complain that its not fair and gives unfair advantage to those who have more money etc etc

Realistically speaking, they would likely sell 1 Golden Key for 80 points on the marketplace. Maybe 3 at the most, but definitely not 5. MS would definitely step in if they tried to "give" these things away.

They apparently stepped in when Valve wanted to give out more free Left 4 Dead (2?) DLC for free, and MS said they [Valve] needed to charge for it.

I don't think the MS Store is really set up to sell things like that. After you buy a distinct item on the store, that's it, it's unlocked for you and you can't buy it again. So every person would only be able to buy the Golden Key pack once. Or alternately they could set up "Golden Key Pack 01" through "Golden Key Pack 10" or something so each person could buy it up to 10 times, or whatever. It would be pretty unwieldy.

Gearbox could also set up an in-game store that would allow multiple purchases like Mass Effect 3 did.

Then their games would be removed from Steam, unless they offered the same products in the Steam store.

Quite a few games offer in-game stores in the actual games, most are free to play though but they have done it before.
Yeah - I think they are realizing the 1k limit is a bit silly - just waaayy too darn small a limit.

I had even busted out my chatpad - figured it might give me an "edge" !
It sounds like all of this has been a test for them. And as part of the testing some people are getting free golden keys, so it's all good in my book.

I see it as a test as well but a tad different. I really thinking they are trying to show everyone that getting a Golden Key for "Free" is going to be a hard task to accomplish. Next week I can almost guarentee these will be sold for some price by gearbox.
yeah but then ppl will complain that its not fair and gives unfair advantage to those who have more money etc etc
Not really. Unless you are always dueling other people having a better weapon doesn't give anyone an advantage over anyone else in a sense since normally you all work together.

considering you can farm chests (and it's actually encouraged by the devs) and there is no effort involved except some platforming and the off chance you have to mow down some tricky enemies to do so...i don't know how i feel about buying keys w/ms points. but hey...if there's a market for it and they can make some $, good for ms & gearbox.

i think i would however spend a few hundred ms points on new skins/head combos and def on new dlc characters.

Sure, be like Mass Effect's packs that you could buy with Microsoft Points. I never did once but yeah it's there for the people that would want to and it funnels that money to the developers as a big thanks for this awesome game I'm playing donation. Or throw on a Golden Key for each DLC picked up as a Premium Club member, so that's 4.
Wow. I was literally typing in the Xbox code for the 1,000k the split second he posted them and they were gone when I hit submit. Ridiculous.
Same here. Glad to see it wasn't just me.

Exactly. It's just stress testing their new shift set up. Consider this Beta testing.

I think it's just testing to make sure when they do a mass release of 100k or more it's not a debacle like lots of other games have had.

I wouldn't have any problem with in-game ms point purchases for keys/etc. I never bought any in ME3 but I might actually buy something in BL2.

I'd like to see something with eridium purchases - maybe a loot chest that costs eridium or a slot machine that takes eridium.

I think you have to pay a fee in Eridium to fight the superboss.

i first played as zer0 then switched to salvador once i reached level 25. as i played as salvador, i realized one thing about this game.

this game isnt really about the action skills, the melee combat and the vehicles.

its about the GUNS

i swear, im having so much FUN playing as salvador. as zer0, i just wanted to kill and level up so i can improve my action skills and melee attacks. i dont really care about the weapons because my melee attacks deal a lot of damage, especially when you reach the bottom of the bloodshed tree. well this might be different if you go the sniping route.

but as salvador, i get really excited when i find loot chests :D because hes really dependent on guns.

last night i was playing coop in finks slaughterhouse and i was being chased by an ultimate badass goliath (i cant remember the exact title, but i think its the highest level goliath in the game?). as i was running, i realized... hey im fricking salvador, im not zer0, i can take this guy head on! so i turned around, activated gunzerking, and unleashed everything i had.

it felt gewd!! xD
I think you have to pay a fee in Eridium to fight the superboss.
yep - 4 eridium from what I've read - which isn't much - and honestly I can't say I'll be doing terramorphous runs anytime soon (or ever if a "farmory" equivalent comes out in dlc form) as I wasn't ever big on crawmerax runs (I'm a looter at heart!). So in the mean time - I'd like to not just be sitting at 99 eridium letting all that I see go to waste. But it's really not that big of a deal - just a very minor complaint. Honestly I don't have much to complain about as this game is completely awesome so far!
God-like Goliath is the highest level I believe.
This, or something like a 'Hulking Mass of Destruction'. (no real difference)

Kind of lost interest in playing... not sure why... Commando's 38 in early PT2 (farmed the final boss quite a bit and got a few extra levels and some incredible gear) -- Siren's at 23, and Zero/Sal are at level 7 or so.

I suppose I could stand to play more co-op. Like hell if I'm ever playing with randoms. I see HydroX on a bit with his 20ish Siren, but I think he's taking his time and savoring the game, so I'd hate to disturb that.

Lol. I only get time to really play when my 2 year old is occupied or napping. I do a lot of dicking around in Sanctuary otherwise, or I'm busy helping my friends on certain quests -- only to watch them drop from the game 3/4 through the mission. At least I get loot? err..

When I DO get time to play, I've been trying to get the majority of the side quests done and I tend to do lots of exploring, just 'cause. All of my friends have multiple characters (because they have time for it) so they usually end up catching my Siren so I've done the same early quests multiple times.

Seriously though, if you're on and you want to do something, shoot me a message. I don't mind being severely underleveled; it just adds to the challenge. During the day is tough for me as I'm usually chilling with my son (or watching Netflix with him) but after 9-10pm Central Time, it's game on. ;)

Considering how long you've played in a weeks time, it's not that surprising.

And yet there are people with two 50s and more, farming Terramorphus for kicks and trading level 50 legendaries like candy. :whistle2:#
(_____

Candy canes are disgusting. What's wrong with you? Walkin' into a grown man's home, offerin' him a candy cane... Sheeit.

Oh, and the solo loot drop rates are terrible. Worse than BL1 for sure. I hate that it's actually a serious decision whether or not to keep the +5% rare loot relic on. :whistle2:#
Lol. I only get time to really play when my 2 year old is occupied or napping. I do a lot of dicking around in Sanctuary otherwise
Sounds like me - I have a two year old daughter that I stay at home with so I do a bit of real gaming when she's napping and maybe a bit of boring and silent (to her so she doesn't care to watch) Sanctuary playing around when she's awake. I'm taking my time and savoring for sure. I do all the side quests before I move on to the main quest. I also do a bunch of jumping around trying to get to high spots usually. And you know - in BL1 there were "rewards" for that - hidden chests and such and I really haven't found much of any of that in BL2 so far. I've been all over and waayy up high in Sanctuary and have yet to find a weapons chest. Just some money boxes and cardboard boxes that *might* have a white pistol or some junk in it...

Stay at home dads UNITE! My 4 year old son just started preschool so I've had a lot more free time during the morning to play now. That will end in Jan though since we are expecting a little girl. Oh the joys of trying to get any gaming in with a newborn, its worth it though.

@bordjon, I have been all over Sanctuary trying to find chests and havent found a single one either. I've been way up on pretty much every building in the town.

Awesome - who knew there were so many stay at home dads rockin' the borderlands here at CAG! I've run into a couple others in the OT forum as well. Congrats Daz on the little girl y'all are expecting - that's exciting! We have just started trying for number two this month. My wife thinks she may already be pregnant - seeing several tell-tale signs. You are right - not near as much gaming time these days - but totally worth it!

Thanks! Yeah we're super excited to have a little girl...not looking forward to her being a teenager though lol. Good luck to you and your wife!

i didn't have the time to ascii draw Moxxi's candy canes.

That volcano challenge was a pain. I had a real hard time determining what was flareup from the sides and what was the insta-death flareup.

I think im done with the game for right now as well. Got up to level 50 last night with Zero. I do want to go through again as maybe the Commando or just wait til Mechromancer but I got my hands on RE6 so thats calling my name right now.

If anyone who is appropriately leveled or has an obscene assortment of overpowered Legendaries that would like to help me beat Terramorphus so I can start a TVM playthrough with my Axton I'd appreciate it. I know I should probably be saving him for a Salvador TVM, but I'd rather start my Maya playthrough instead.

If interested just know I'll be playing micless and competent enough to follow direction. My Axton is Lvl. 37 and I couldn't care less about any Legendaries since my inventory is full. Mainly interested in XP, money and any Commando customization items that drop. Everything else is yours. I just want this thing f*cking dead asap so I can get the side quest achievement done already.

I didn't think it was possible to beat Terramorphus before level 50?

I've learned when it comes to gaming nothing is impossible. I just don't have the patience to figure out a way to do it myself and don't want to run through the game with the same character just to beat one boss to complete an achievement.

Keep an eye for a late game Side Mission called
Get to Know Jack
since there is one part in it where it can glitch out on you, making it impossible to complete.

Hopefully Gearbox patches it soon. I hope I can get their attention on this.

the only glitch ive seen is when i had to fight
bloodwing
after i beat him, he fell through the floor so i had to run all the way back through the entire mission but it disappeared by the time i got there. had to exit then re-enter the level and again run all the way back to where you fight him. good thing i didnt have to beat him a second time but i did have to fight all those enemies again when i made both trips back to him
You get out of here right now.

Man I'm loving this game now, it seems like the more you play it the better it gets! Going as a Gunzerker atm on my main PT.

I joined a game with my friend last night and he had to step out for 5-10 minutes... So, his character was chilling by a reconstructor/spawn point in the middle of nowhere, and I kind of kept close just in case something came his way.

Out of nowhere, he got bumrushed by a named stalker mini-boss and a named skag mini-boss (complete with attached mobs). So I dispatched of them (which was a total PITA) and the skag boss dropped an orange shotgun. It's rather "eh" in comparison to Moxxi's Heartbreaker, but it's the first orange I've seen drop. Totally unexpected.

I still haven't seen an orange drop myself =(

I've seen exactly one orange, a shield dropped from the final boss.

Now that I've beaten it I'm not sure if I should dive right into PT2, try to finish up all the sidequests I skipped in PT1 first, or just start a brand new character.

I have found 1 orange assault rifle in a vending machine, thats all I have found between my four characters (lvl 24,17,11,4). I also have the orange shield from the Lilith quests

Pimon and Tumbaa?

I have 3 orange - a kerblaster from an early boss drop (midgemong) and the orange firehawk shield and the awesome maggie two fer pistol (slash shotty slash sniper!) from the slots.

a friend of mine who is 50 helped me beat him (i was 41). he also used his level 32 maya and put her in a fail safe spot so in case we both died, terra's life didnt reset.
What is the glitch or how does it happen I mean? (Behind a spoiler tag again please)
Basically
There's a switch you have to pull to get an Echo. It's supposed to be Green, but for me and others, it's Red. Which means you can't pull the switch.
Apparently saving and quitting may help
and then you have to shoot Rakk to get it
but it's still pretty bad programming. You can also fix it by finishing it in someone else's game.
Moxxi's Heartbreaker is just as good, less damage but way more accurate. I will out level it soon, so I guess Deliverance is its suitable replacement.

I totally caught the Pimon and Tumbaa reference at the time but blanked on the names when I posted. Lol. Are they supposed to be roaming the wildlife preservation? They just came out of nowhere and full speed charged my friend who was sitting idle. Never saw that before, totally unprovoked.
They're two of a handful of rare spawns that aren't always around. They all have specific legendaries they like to drop, too.

More keys any minute now.

Edit- code will go live at 5:15 CST and will be good for 30 minutes

Worked perfect
