Borderlands - Gen. Discussion & Info - OUT NOW (8.0 GS, 8.8 IGN, 88 Metacritic)

So I finally gave in and got this the other day and I must say...this is one game I could spend hours on end. Anyways, I was wanting to play online sometime, Zero Omega420 is my PSN and I have a lvl13 soldier right now.
 
Just got this a couple weeks ago. lvl 22 Hunter if anyone wants to play online. psn jax2001.

Just beat all of Knoxx but the 61 mission. The DLC was really fun and I enjoyed it alot.
I wished the regular game had as much talking and comedy as Mr. Shank and Knoxx did in the DLC. Knoxx reading his letters to the baby admiral were freaking hilarious.
 
Yeah Knoxx DLC is awesome.

Btw, anyone figure out another way around the Armory Assault glitch? fucking crap, can't turn in the mission because of glitch.
 
After buying this game while it was still pretty new, I'm just now getting around to playing it. I'm loving the single player and look forward to some co-op which I havent tried yet. If anyone out there is still playing, I've currently got a lvl 13 hunter and my psn name is Jville808.

Best thing to do is play with somebody who doesn't have the mission completed and turn it in when they're host.

A few friends and I are playing on Tuesday- mostly in pairs since we can't ever seem to get a whole group together. 3 of us are in New Haven (1 mission into that bounty board I think). Our other friend is at the 2nd boss.

Feel free to join tomorrow- we play around 8pm central time to about 10:30.

Recently bought all the DLC for this game and trying to get all the trophies. Almost finished the Knoxx DLC (think Crawmerax may be all that's left), beat the game itself, but haven't touched the other two DLC yet.

Level 44 Soldier. Hit me up if you wanna play.

I will add you two. I have a couple of the DLC's but not sure which ones, it's on my game share account I will download whichever ones I have.

I usually play between 5-7am before I go to work during the week. But I'm on at other times as well and randomly during the weekends. I would like to get all the online trophies, I know there is a couple of dueling trophies as well...only problem is I"m not sure how to duel.
 
I just recently started playing Borderlands. Level 13 soldier.. currently working towards battling the first boss. I would love to play with other CAG'ers even if I'm woefully underleveled. My PSN ID is Bored_Doc.

You initiate a dual request with another player by meleeing them, and if the other player melees back, then you have a duel. If we're in the same game, you could just kill me and get the trophy easily ;).

I'm usually on after 5:30 pm Central time. So if you want, just send me a request if your on and we'll work towards those trophies. And there's the BRAAAAIIIIIIIIIINS trophy for the Zombie DLC that is definately easier to get with other people.

Saw you on last night, but I didn't want to interrupt the download for Shank. Damn that took forever to download and install. But I'm on pretty much every day, so if you see me, just send a request over.
 
I'm usually on Week nights 6-10 central time, and Saturday mornings between 8-12. I'm not actively playing Borderlands- but I would be if I had some co-op partners.

Like I said, I'm a 25-26 soldier at New Haven. Sounds like I'm behind all of you guys, so i'd probably have to host.
 
We should set up a game night for sometime this week, Monday - Wednesday work for me its supposed to be way too hot to do anything outside. I would like to try and finish up the braaaiiiiiins trophy that we started IwillKILLurGOD, and if anyone else would like to join.

I also just bought a psn card...and debating on which DLC to get? I already have Dr. Ned's zombie. I will get both if anyone feels like boosting trophies...I would like to platinum this game as well.

I haven't tried to do the Moxxi DLC yet, but I heard it wasn't so good. My main complaint with the General Knoxx DLC is that there is a lot of driving. And I do mean a LOT of driving. It would be better if you could quick trip everywhere, but you can't. So driving is the only means to get anywhere in the DLC.

And I won't be on tonight more than likely, but tomorrow and Wednesday are good bets. That Braaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiins trophy can be a pain.
 
fuck GOTY...they're awesome if you can possibly hold off for that long, someone who buys this game from the beginning and downloads the dlc spend $100 (granted they bought it new and didn't gameshare) and then a year later they hand out the dlc for free. This typically turns me away from purchasing any DLC from the company.
 
i bought the game new when it came out and then proceeded to sell it (i had A LOT of issues with playing online. friends wouldnt show up, no one would see me on, etc...). i wont rebuy the game just for the dlc, so ill have to wait till someone trades it in at gamestop so i could do the ole gamestop free rental service.

meh, you already get a shitload of content in these kinds of games to begin with. I don't think I made it through any of the Fallout 3 DLC, aside from opening the game with Broken Steel. maybe I beat Operation Anchorage.

I'm usually very over WRPGs by the time the DLC comes out.
 
I would like to set up a gameshare for the existing 3 DLCs and the new upcoming DLC for myself and a friend. So I would need three more people in the group. Anyone still interested?

Btw, I can do any day of the week for a game night. Would prefer to have it before 10pm EST.
 
I'm not sure about the DLC yet if I'm going to purchase anymore. So I would have to pass on a game share for now.

I did the same with Fallout 3 didn't buy any of it, mainly because it took so long to come out. Then when it did I heard issue of it constantly freezing. The only one I bit on was LBP:GOTY due to trade-in's and nothing being out at that time.

I can play tonight probably anytime after 7p if anyone wants to get a party going.
 
just a little fyi for everyone, i heard the dlc isnt on the disc for the goty edition. there will be a voucher in the case for a free download of all the dlc.

getting so tired of this voucher crap.
 
I'm getting closer to the BRAAAAIIIIIIIIIINS trophy so if anyone needs it now would be a good time to meet up. I'm also about to fight the boss Korm and could use some help with United We Stand trophy. I should be able to play Saturday morning for sure let me know if anyone is available to help.

I think the United We Stand trophy is the only one I have left to get in the main game. Saturday morning should be a good time for me, especially since the missus will sleep till noon usually.:D
 
i got a question about weapon stats.
at the top of the weapons stats it has dmg, rof and accuracy. below that it has any added effects.
now if a gun has say 50% added dmg, is that already calculated in the above dmg or is it 50% more on top of that?
 
Anyone picking up the GOTY edition today? I'm curious about how the DLC is handled. If it is on disc, or a code.

EDIT - I looked it up. It's appears to be tokens/vouchers in the box. From the sound of it- each one is seperate too, but that may be wrong.

Amazon reviews for Xbox 360 confirms this. Codes for the DLC's what a total rip-off :bomb:
Can someone confirm this for Ps3?
 
Gamefaq message board confirmed the PS3 version too. I'm not too surprised. There was a lot of DLC- and in order to get it all on a blu-ray, they may have had to use the dual layer discs or something.

Well for that price ($60) it should be on a blu ray disc, just like Fallout 3 GOTY. Really? I thought 25gb (single layer blu disc) were enough space for 4 dlc's but maybe I am wrong... :bs:

So I just got this game and I don't know many people to play online with. Also, I have been having issues. First, when I send an invite to my brother never seems to get the invite. If he invites me, I get a connection host time out error. He can only connect if I am playing a public game and he connects that way. Also, when playing online I am not able to hear his headset nor him mine. I cannot figure out if is a problem on my end or his since sadly he seems to be my only PSN friend who plays the game. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

On an added note I would love to play with some fellow CAGs if possible. Also, it might help me figure if it is my problem or my brother. Please feel free to add me as a friend. My PSN ID is ProfWho.
 
i had a ton of online problems when the game first came out. no one would show up on my friends list. no one would get invites or i would get invites. terrible lag. didnt bother trying to talk to people.

terrible to see gearbox never bothered fixing any of these issues and was just worried about pumping out DLC after DLC.
 
so, anyone still play this that would want to help me kill crawermax?
i got a lvl 48 siren on pt1 and that's the only mission i haven't been able to finish.

Question: with the most recent patch that ups the level limit to 69, does craw scale up with the players? i believe that a level 69 player would have a much easier time with craw than a level 61 player if he would not scale.
 
Not being able to deactivate quests has to be one of the most frustrating things about the game. ugh! I usually go online a lot, and I pick up random quests. I now have about 50 quests in my log and I have to scroll through to find the ones I need to do. It's a bit frustrating..

Anybody down to let me whomp on them for 30min or so?

I just picked up the Game of the Year edition, is there any benefit to installing it prior to playing a brand new game? I'm right at the part where I'm about to leave the Arid Badlands and go to New Haven. Just figured I'd ask if extra guns thingies or items or something came in the DLC.
 
I recently got the GOTY addition and was trying to play with a friend last night but we almost never heard each other. Is there a known problem with this and if so are there any fixes or suggestions to make it work better?
 
I've encountered sound trouble playing with Mad39er. It cuts in an out, I miss half of what he says, and its an all-around crappy experience. Although it's slightly better when I host...

We've learned to communicate through a series of gunshots and jumps. I haven't heard of any fixes (although I haven't really looked).
