I was kinda dissapointed in the bikes. I really wanted to like them, but the whole crash thing just ruins them. If they showed the crashes it would make them much more enjoyable. I do want to keep this game if they are going to continue to give it such ridiculous support though
I just picked up this game. It seems like there will be a pretty steep learning curve. Is there any way to set a waypoint to a race I want to go to (or shop/junkyard/etc.). Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
I was going to say the same thing. It's better and cheaper but no split screen. There will be local play sometime next year with the whole Party Mode announced.
Midnight Club's more of a pain in the ass to play than Burnout Paradise, but it's not bad. If you want a racer that toes the arcade/sim line, Midnight Club's probably your best bet this year.
Among its other planned downloadable content for 2009, Burnout Paradise is preparing to unlock an entirely new island. Dubbed "Big Surf Island" for its massive jumps, the area is said to be about the size of Downtown Paradise. The island will be the ultimate destination of the incomplete suspension bridge off the coast of east downtown. Big Surf Island is centered around long drifts and jumps larger than any of those in Paradise City. The most recent Crash TV also has an inside look at the new area from the developers, if you want to hear the direction of it straight from the horse's mouth. Like the other announced DLC for 2009, this pack won't be free. Though pricing isn't confirmed, adding a large area to the map is likely to be more expensive than additional cars, even if those cars are famous among geeks. We'll let you know more about pricing and release dates when we know.
Yea I had read that before but man after taking a look at these screenshots I'm def getting this:
Can't wait, although I can with the amount of games I have atm lol.
Edit: Ok after watching Episode 15: The Island Update, holy shit I'm so in for paying for this! Those screenshots show so much more gameplay and gameplay elements, I can't wait to drift around the circular parking garage!
I played a little more last night and I'm just starting to wrap my head around the amount of stuff that is crammed into this game. I have my Class B license and I'm 22 victories away from earning the Class A license. I'm finding the races to be the hardest events - the crash and marked man events are fairly easy and I've only tried a couple of stunt events and have about a 50% success rate there. I haven't focused on them though. Also, maybe I'm getting old but the game seems a little fast - I am crashing all the time.
This is just one of those games that gets a grip on you for a weeks.
A lot of people already have it. A lot of people really want it. And a lot of people have had it, gotten rid of it, and want it again.
That's pretty impressive for a game that's been out for almost a year.
ive put this down since i got new games, might play it tonight though. glad to see so many still loving this game and glad criteion keeps supporting it.
This game is so awesome - I'm probably going to by the DLC when it comes out. I like how they say the Charger "looks great in orange too" - I wish they could have kept the flag on top but I totally understand why they ditched it.
If the DLC is reasonably priced (mainly Big Surf Island), I'll definitely get it. This game rocks! We need to get some CAGs together and do the online Challenges. They're kind of hard to do with randoms.
Picking this up tonight, now that it's under $20 at GS. I rented it last year and had a great time.
Maybe we can get something together tonight.
That sounds fun. I'm going to go to the bank and get my LIVE account unsuspended today (so embarrassing... ), so we should be good to go by tonight! The best car in my possession is a Fastback Special, so I'll do some single player events beforehand. I get smoked every time online because of those damn PCPD Specials.
I was planning on it, but didn't expect the required 445MB update to play online. And with my luck, I just busted my internet down to the lowest tier last week. This is gonna take all night. Maybe tomorrow.
I have this game but haven't played it since I rented it months ago. I think now is the time to start playing since a lot of CAGs should be on for the mulitplayer, which I heard is the best part of the game from Giant Bomb. I'm glad the price drop came when it did. I'll send out a few FRs.
I need to get this soon. But what's so different about the Ultimate Edition?
It's basically everything that has been included to the retail version of Burnout Paradise so if you're new this is the edition to get. Basically its like a game of the year edition but unofficially lol.
The Ultimate Box includes an enhanced version of Burnout Paradise, Burnout Paradise Bikes and multiplayer options that allow you to challenge your friends either online or at home for the ultimate social driving experience.
