But you need Salt Swords to kill giant slugs! It's GGT #58!

Hahahahaha

man today has been boring. the only exciting thing today was microwaving a pretzel and the cars going by my house. -_- can't wait till my Lost Planet Colonies comes in the mail

After class today I stopped at the local TRU to see what clearance items they had.

To my disappointment, someone else had already come along and scored all their $5 of Far Cry Predator and Prey on the 360. I didn't have too bad of a purchase as I managed to get Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow & Every Extend Extra for $9.98 each and Exit for $5 on psp.

RR, this is my 9th and final play through of MGS4. All I have to do is finish the game with the rank Bee and I've completed MGS4 100%. All weapons, items, ranks, camos, face paints, ipod songs ect done. Also getting the BB emblem on BB extreme was a bitch.

I second that! More so the unlocking and not so much the 9 play throughs.
Well it took me 9 because I kept fucking up on the BB emblem/rank. I didn't think about the credits counting with the overall time, but it does 17mins or so added to your end total. I used that MGS4 LE guide to help me find/unlock all the stuff. Also helps more then one emblem can be unlocked at a time too.

I plan on doing a Chicken Emblem run which will get me 15 medals. What it entails after the spoiler:

35+ hours, 150+ alerts, 500+ kills (150 being headshots), 50+ continues, 50+ recovery items, Syringe 50 enemies, give soldiers 50 items, 25 soldiers liking me, 10 Combat highs, 50 enemies held up, 60 minutes in the can, 60 minutes against the wall, 2.5 hours of crouching, 200 dives and 100 rolls
.

This will get me the following medals:
Chicken, Bee, Blue Bird, Cow, Crocodile, Eagle, Hawk, Pig, Gibbon, Tortoise, Gecko, Lobster, Scarab and Frog
. Quite a challenge, eh?

Bee! Ha ha that is the last emblem I need. Def is a challenge man, but it's actually a lot of fun doing them. I already have syringed 50 enemies just have to finish the game now to get my emblem. You going to all the emblems as well king?

I don't think I will. I have 11 emblems already, and I beat the game 4 times, all on Liquid Easy (Last time I beat it was under 2:50:00, before that, 3:20:00) so I'm looking to step up the difficulty to the 3rd difficulty level. I'm pretty sure this long run will be my last. I'm gonna take my time with it. But I need a stopwatch first :)

I love how I'm all set to do my next run through of MGS4 yet I'm completely unsure what I wanna do. It's either going for a no-alert, no-kill run through or going for the Assassin Emblem. Maybe I'll go for at least the no-alert one since that may help with the Assassin emblem...

I wanted to do a no alert/kill play through in MGS4, but it's not really all that fun for me. I mean I'm at Act 4, so I will atleast try and finish what I started. I'm just hoping I won't have as much trouble in Act 4 as I think I will ...

Hey, GGT anime fans... Have you ever found yourself unable to stop watching an anime you really don't like? I'm currently watching Code Geass Season 2 and I think it's a horrible show, but I can't stop watching it...
Isn't CoD4 already running a modified Q3 engine?
yes, since its running of modified cod2 tech, which is a modified q3 engine

Why is the SSF2THDR beta so broken? I can't even play the damned thing, it just crashes. Guess it's good they did a beta.
yes, since its running of modified cod2 tech, which is a modified q3 engine
It's kinda crazy the longevity these things have, and what the right talent can do with them. I still have a hard time believing that the original Half-Life was on the Quake 1 engine.

G Gundam. I hated the show for the first like 26 episodes, but I couldn't stop watching. Then I ended up liking it, and now own the whole thing on DVD...

would it blow your mind if I told you NG2 ran on modified DOA3 tec?
would it blow your mind if I told you NG2 ran on modified DOA3 tec?
Not as much as the Half-Life thing. The more impressive jump, in my mind, is DOA3->NG1, since it's a pretty sizable change to the engine mechanics. But that all situated there for the first one makes the 2nd one very easy to jump to. And it's clear that, for as great as NG2 is, it could've benefited from a new engine, environmentally at least.

But, yeah, massively scalable engines are nuts. I mean Source is still be tweaked and upgraded. The N64 Zelda games run on the Mario 64 engine.

See Unreal licensees? Just because you use an engine doesn't mean you have to make every game look EXACTLY like the original game. Might as well call UE3 the Gears of War engine.

Is UT3 any good?

I want to sell my PS3 and my Xbox 360 (but keep my hard drive).

Then buy a core when the Jasper 360's come out in August.
And hopefully a Blu-ray external drive if MS announces it at E3 or this plan is foiled, I can still get a new 360 though.

Zelda and Mario is a no brainer.

Lost Odyssey looks like Gears?
Tales of Symphonia is pretty dang fun

so is Disgaea... so much faster paced than Jen Da'rk
Tales of Symphonia is the best game on the GameCube. Second-best RPG on it is Baten Kaitos, though not for everyone.

Twilight Princess runs off a modified windwaker engine, where windwaker runs off a modified OOT engine.

mind=blown.

Gundam Seed Destiny. Ughhh.
I used to watch anime that put me to sleep before I realized I should probably stop watching it. =X

I don't like talking about engines. Probably because I don't program them so it all sounds whaaaatever to me.

Tales of Symphonia is sweet. That and Skies of Arcadia Legends are my 2 picks for RPGs on Gamecube. I have Baten Kaitos, but I haven't played it.

I bought the Ninja Scroll series a few years ago on clearance. I've only watched the first disc. One day, I'll finish the other two. So I put that anime down pretty hard. :)

Twilight Princess runs off of a modified Wind Waker engine, which ran off a modified Ocarina of Time engine which ran off a modified Mario 64 engine. Clearly Zelda news an engine for itself to truly evolve.

I downloaded the COD:WOW trailer and I've got to say it looks absolutely...pathetic. Jerky animation, dull setting, not even running at 30 frames per second (Infinity Ward had that engine locked at 60). So I'll say if that game manages to sell half of what COD4 sold it'll be a dark day for gaming. It's coming out in February 09 right? I heard February 09.

super mario bros is actually running on a donkey kong 3 engine, which drove dk math that is a modified Pitfall engine.

werld=crash

I played like 2 hours of the Super Street Fighter II TURBO HD Remix beta with my brother... good times. Unlike a lot of people, I am lucky that my brother is always nearby for competition in ANY fighting game. He has natural instincts and killer reflexes. Always makes for a good learning experience.

It was fun playing the same game with new tricks... slowly using new tactics/exploits and refining the way we play was fun. Reversal/wakeup Shoryus are SO easy now... Good thing Ken can't get his wakeup shoryu to combo unless at a specific wall/character situation...

Ken landing anti meaty mp dp x 2 into dizzy corner into jumping fierce, standing fierce, fierce shoryu...
= call it a night!
No megaton MGS4 pickup pics then MarkMan?
Still waiting for one more missing piece... should arrive by next week (I hope)...

You can probably guess what it is -_-

Well, that, and I'm trying to get one of those Hori charge stands, the gunmetal ones, but I'm having a hard time finding a good price on one... there are some on eBay but they're going for like $120+ shipped... and that is ouch to me for a $15 charge unit. -_-

So I'm lookin for some homies in Japan to slice ppl up for me and help me out.
sonic rush has some terrible level design

sonic team can't do anything right anymore
Yeah, I picked that one up a few weeks ago. I was disappointed with it so I think I might just trade it in or something.
Lost Odyssey looks like Gears?
Exceptions to every rule. :)
sonic rush has some terrible level design

sonic team can't do anything right anymore
Nah, Sonic Rush is awesome. Sonic Rush Adventure was kinda crappy in the level department. And Sonic Team had nothing to do with it, which just further solidifies your point of them being completely incompetent anymore.

One of the few DS games I'd NEVER trade. I might pick up Sonic Rush Adventure since Fry's lowered the price to $20, but I really don't need more games. ;)

And yeah, Sonic Team had nothing to do with the DS Sonic Rush games, Dimps made them.

Is UT3 any good?
Some like it, some hate it. I know UT3 on PS3 originally didn't have much of an online community, but when one of my friends wanted a CAG night for it, I helped him get started (this was around 2 months ago) and it has done pretty good now, but the leader hasn't been around much (I dunno where he is, but he's one of my Facebook buddies).
maybe my tastes have changed, but its just not fun to be going fast and then randomly fall in a hole.
Sonic Rush/Sonic Advance 2 were the closest to Sonic 2 they've gotten since Sonic 2. I really enjoyed both of those games, they had some great level design. It's pretty clear when you're supposed to be running at top speed and when you're suppossed to be doing careful platforming.

Ohhh man, how good was Sonic 2 ?

First genesis game I ever had, I must have played it for 8-9 hours solid that Christmas day.
