CAG Achievement/Gamerscore Group - EA & 2K strike again - FIFA 10 & NBA 2K11

I read today on x360a.org that the next Community Racing Day for NFS Undercover will be held April 3rd through the 5th. I think this will be the third or fourth one but I have no clue how many they will be doing in total.

I'm PMing Cleaner, but most everything on the list I can be available for.

I am super interested in finishing War Tech and MINESWEEPER FLAGS and need the online help.
I am sure I will be talking to Cleaner tonight more than likely before she checks CAG, so I will let her know you sent a PM MrNEWZ.
Muchas gracias. I'll be joining the leaderboard from home tonight since it is blocked at work.
Wanna set a time for K & L?
I was usually available late night on Saturdays but I have a new "Lady Friend" that is taking that time up right now. :D

I am not seeing her the next two Saturdays 4/11 and 4/18 so we can get a bunch done then if we can get the whole group together.

I maybe around during the day this saturday as well but I'm not sure yet.

I'm always around after 9pm EST. I can make things work on the weekend during the day most of the time as well. Actually I'm pretty clear for this whole weekend as the better half has friends coming into town on Friday and Saturday. Just let me know when works for everyone.

If anyone needs any assistance getting the campaign based achievements in GOW1/2 or Halo 3 , feel free to shoot me a PM or friend request. I can always lend a helping hand (I just enjoy playing through the games). About the only campaign based achievement I really need for any of those 3 (that I can think of off the top of my head) is the Vidmaster Annual in Halo 3.
I'd be up for Gears of War 1 and the Vidmaster Annual achievements. I'll send you a friend request in a minute.
Anything in particular for GOW or just the co-op achievements and the normal/hardcore/insane ones? (Can't remember if there are any others)

Also for Halo 3 we'll obviously need 2 other people.

You available tomorrow? I'm off work and can do it pretty much any time then. Otherwise we might have to work around my work schedule a bit.

I only have like 90 points in the game, so I'm up for almost anything. I'd like to run through the game.

I should be free tomorrow and this weekend if you're available.

Available all day tomorrow and Saturday , only available in the evening sunday. Just let me know when you might want to play.

I'm up for achievement helping, everyone is talking halo 3 and gow 1 so just need the specifics to what achievement. Also for the L4D players out there I'm trying to get the one for taking out the tank by yourself so if anyone wants to do that one also, and I think expert or what not than that'll be great.

I'll post back as to what time I can do it too.

We can do some weapon achievements if you guys want. We will need 3 other people. I can play tomorrow during the day just let me know. If we play on war zone for some of the weapons we can probably get 30 kills every 25-30mins.
im down for some gow or halo
xbox live me
ps-i dont have any of the new maps
Gears of War (1) maps are free now.
Anybody need to do Kane & Lynch? I have some co-op and online ones that need to be done. Hard mode as well.
I recently got K&L too so I can join in on the multiplayer goodness. Been wanting to try Fragile Alliance for awhile now.

Also, I received everyone's PMs and have updated the list with their games.

Well, I just got DOOM so if anyone wants to just add me to yer friends list and we'll go hunting onrine.
I'm down for some DOOM too.
Same here. Still need to finish Acts 3 and 4 and beat the game on Ultraviolent as well , although that can't be helped here.;)

Down for Doom too. Single player achievements can't be unlocked in co-op and all players have to be present at the end of a multiplayer match for the kills to count toward the multiplayer deathmatch achievements, although it can be a ranked or unranked match.

I need Doom achievements, too. Campaign on Ultra Violence and 100 kills. With 3-4 players this should be pretty easy.

Hey fellow CAG's, I thought I would post on here to see if I could find a Co-op Professional campaign partner for Army of Two. I am available anytime during the day and on certain nights I will be able to stay up a while. Please let me know ASAP as I might not have the game for long.

I'll play through with you. Can I play on Professional if I haven't completed the game on a lower difficulty level?

Can I take it that you have given up on the Billion Dollars achievement? ;)

You might need to Glock, but there's only 6 missions so you could easily buzz through it on Easy to unlock Pro. There's achievements for kills using certain gun types anyway so playing through the game twice will help with those.

How's the achievements in that new Leisure Suit Larry game, are they easy ?

Yea, I just read that you have to beat it on a lower difficulty level first. I am about half way through so maybe I can grind through the last part quickly.

Do not, I repeat, do not get Leisure suit Larry. It is not a quick 1000 (15+ hours) and it is a horrible game (bad camera, glitchy, not fun). I got 5 for 70 in about an hour and that was all I could take. I actually only picked it up because it was a good Goozex flip ($19.99 in GS credit for 900 goozex points) so I will be happily mailing it out today! :applause:

Hmmm, thanks for the advice, I'll give it a miss. I'd have been tempted if it was a really easy 1000 but I'm not sitting through 15 hours of it.

haha i was actually looking at trying the game lol. Yea I mean I might try it i am in a group now but they havent boosted it yet. I was looking at the amount of time it would take and somebody calculated it to be around 167 hours to get it. I am still on the fence. I at least want to get the achievement for passing on Pro and all of the weapon achievements. I played mission 7 and 8 today and I found those kind of hard even on the easiest difficulty. Maybe it was just that I was going through the level too fast. Yea if your interested in getting the weapon achieves I will happily go through the easy difficulty with you again. Maybe we could get the brief cases also. I just need to start working on these because it seems all of a sudden the Goozex line is going fast im number 17 now and just last week I was 25. I should be ready to do this anytime after tonight.

To unlock Professional, you can do 1 of 2 things:
- Join a Professional game Online
- Beat the game on Veteran

RE5?
How did you even find Leisure Suit Larry at Game Stop? I have been searching for a few weeks now and none within 100 miles =\
It says that for me too on the website, but every store I've been to has it on shelf. Possbily it never got updated correctly in their inventory system? Maybe because of the price drop prior to release, or maybe a different UPC? I'm willing to bet any GS/EB you go to will have a copy.

Hey glock from what Kingbroly is saying, it sounds like I would only have to host the game since I have it unlocked. You might not have to complete it on a lower difficulty. Let me know when you wanted to start

Did you read the prior post to this? He says Army of Two. lol

And yes for AoT you can beat it on a normal difficulty and Pro will unlock. Pro isnt even hard on single player, either. Just take it slow.

i'm up for joining a gamerscore boosting group. Mainly on evenings and weekends. Would love to get some multiplayer culdcept going. Also have nhl 09, halo 3, gears 1 + 2 and many more that i cant remember. If anyone wants to add me to their buddy list just add cag somewhere in the invite so I know where ya came from.

Anyone else read the article on 1up explaining the "new" rules of achievements?

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3173929

Way back in February of 2007, Microsoft made their only public declaration regarding Xbox 360 Achievements limits: A retail title must release with 1,000 points, with an additional 250 points allowed to be added through downloadable content afterward. Since then, games like Halo 3, Fallout 3, and Fable 2 have clearly broken that limit, leading many a hopeless Achievements addict to wonder what gives.

The folks at Xbox360Achievements.org (via Kotaku) were wondering the same thing, and seem to have uncovered a simple answer: The rules changed. According to a "very credible source," there have been two important changes to the Achievements rules since that Gamerscore blog post in 2007: First, the new maximum points allowed for any retail game (including subsequent DLC) is 1,750 points, spread across no more than 80 Achievements. That puts those aforementioned titles that broke the 1,250 rule in the clear, although it still leaves Valve's The Orange Box unaccounted for with its 99 Achievements. We're assuming The Orange Box received special ex-post facto clemency, because it's awesome.

The second rule is that every game can add a maximum of 250 new points and 10 Achievements through DLC every yearly quarter (but only until reaching the 1,750 point cap). And evidently this rule is also cumulative, so that theoretically, a developer could release a new game with 1,000 points, not add any new achievements for the next three quarters, and then release a massive 750-point DLC pack in the fourth quarter. The anonymous source explained this rule is meant to discourage developers from releasing a ton of content and all 750 points immediately after a game's release, and instead doll it out slowly over time.

So there you have it -- the unusually complicated rules governing your
unusually ridiculous Achievements addiction. Feel better, junkies?
You mean the 1up article quoting Kotaku quoting Xbox360achievements.org? lol
Which in turn was quoted in the xbox group on yahoo. (where I found it in my email).

The only reason Microsoft changed their policy towards achievements is because Sony started having DLC based trophies.

"Microsoft will not sit idly by as cheaters continuously try to tear apart their highly-regarded achievement system. They have done everything in their power to keep it as balanced and fair as possible and continue to do so via an announcement straight from the Major himself:

"As you know, we are committed to keeping Xbox LIVE a safe and fair place to play for the more than 17 million active members. As part of our regular safety monitoring we have pinpointed a group of players who have unlocked specific Gears of War 2 Achievements through an unauthorized hack. Deliberate cheats like these are in direct violation of the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and will not be tolerated. As I post this, we’ve begun taking steps to reset the Gamerscores of the offending players. As I have mentioned in the past, this is something we do occasionally to keep the service free of cheating in order to maintain a fair and level playing field for everyone. If you play fair and earn your achievements without glitching or cheating, you have nothing to worry about. Read my original post that shows what a cheater looks like and head over to Xbox.com to read the Gamerscore correction FAQ that may answer some of your questions.""
It's just referring to people who have the Level 100 achievement
Is that what the glitch was? I wasn't sure what they were talking about.

Either way they aren't targeting gamer score whoring or boosting achievements. They have reiterated that a number of times, including today in Stepto's blog:

Now, we do this on a periodic basis and I always get asked the same questions because I know a lot of people like to boost, etc. We tend to issue resets for a very clear set of actions that users take to get achievements without even playing the game. So those of you boosters, if you’re not glitching or doing other things in violation of the Terms of Use, don’t worry. Also to be clear, this isn’t any type of bug or issue caused by Gears of War 2, it’s just people cheating their profiles to toggle a specific achievement they didn’t actually earn.
Remember, the best way to avoid a Gamerscore reset is…earn your achievements!
