Look like I'll be getting a 360 stick and dual modding it since its apparently "100% easier" to do than PS3, and I can still voice chat on 360 that way!

Oh and maybe a Ken pad since I have to support the man!

Hey MarkMan, will the FightPad controllers have any of the home console exclusive fighters on them?

Cammy FightPad anyone?

You know, that's a good point.

If we can't pre-order specific characters/designs, then how will we know what ships to our store? I feel like the Gamestop pre-order system should streamline itself a bit more to let customers pre-order specifically which model/character/color they want.

I remember when the Transformers movie game came out GameStop had Autobot and Decepticon faceplates for the 360, but you could not choose which one you got if you ordered online.

Well, a bigger concern if mine is that it doesn't seem like there's an option to choose in store either, as no one has mentioned anything about it and people have evidently placed preorders. I don't want Zangief plastered all over my controller, thank you very much. No offense to 'gief players, but he's not the prettiest character in IV.

I'm just wondering about how good the d-pad is on that thing. Since, if it's good, I might finally have a replacement for that godawful 360 controller. Imagine enjoying games that require use of the d-pad!

It's a wonderful thought.

I couldn't agree more.;)

A new controller for the 360 is definitely a priority and everything's been pretty much hush hush as to what style and construction the D-pad will be. Pretty much anything will be better than the 360 though, so I'm hoping they set their goals a bit higher. ;)

Hahah, if they offer a Cammy, I'll definitely pick it up. I'm basically looking to get Chun Li, Cammy, and Ken. Anything extra will be icing on the cake. I might just load up on controllers so that when I have friends over no one can complain about the d-pad.

It seems like the artwork on the Pads has been really good so far. A Cammy controller would be the best news for SFIV since she was announced! LOL!

I picked the akuma pad and the standard 360 SFIV stick--couldn't find the 360 tourney. There's time to change my pre-order if cammy or fei ever comes out and the tourney for 360 sku appears. :)
I'm getting a 360 stick and throwing a Cthulhu board in it. 360 and PS3 in one stick, mission complete. :)
Ditto.

I put in pre-order for a ken 360 pad and an arcade stick. Although, I'm not completely sold on the arcade stick, so I could end up just ordering a pad.
Anyone know if you can plug in your xbox microphone in any of the fighting sticks?
All retail Xbox 360 fighting sticks give you the option to plug in your headset.

The fightpad looks like it could be cool. Can't tell how good the d-pad is, obviously, but it seems like there are indeed oversized buttons on the face, which is just fucking fantastic. Seriously, nobody does that anymore, and I dunno why.

the 360 stick is there its just mislabeled. If you look at the pic you can see the guide button. I think I've pretty much decided to get a PS3 stick to be able to play all the ps2 fighting games with that Ive been using the DS3 for and for all future fighting games that may or may not go multiconsole.
B - Rank

 • Hori Fighting Stick EX2 (360) - Same as Dead or Alive 4 Arcade Stick and Soulcalibur IV Arcade Stick.
 • Street Fighter IV Arcade Stick (PS3, 360)
I missed this post. I never read the OP for some reason. So... if this bracket is still correct, am I to assume there's no reason to pick up the Street Fighter IV Standard Arcade Stick if I already have the Hori Fighting Stick EX2 (if I don't want to mod)?

I mean, that's $80 vs $45 (or $60 MSRP) and the cheaper is available right now. I feel like there should be a difference other than the fact that Street Fighter is slapped on the front, right?

Those rankings will change.

Especially with all the changes done.

So I'll update my personal tier ranking soon? I wanna say after Thanksgiving.

Yay! Looking forward to it. :)

How hard would that be to do?

I preordered the PS3 standard stick. Might switch to 360 if the cthulu thing is easy. 110 is way more than I should spend though.

I thought cthulu was for ps3 and pc only. Wouldn't you need to hack a 360 pad?

I was gonna switch my pre order to 360.
if you preorder a stick on amazon.com when do you get charged?... my guess is when it ships?
I believe so. That's how it was when I ordered KOFXI and Fire Pro Wrestling Returns together.

Well I'm slowly trickling through the process of getting my stick modded. I was thinking of adding custom art, so akuma001 referred me to http://www.mamemarquees.com/. Any tips on using that site? I need the art on a polycarbonate sticker, but I guess I gotta make sure the button holes all get put in the right place. It's my first time ordering something like this and I don't wanna fuck it up!

Is there a chance that they'll have a ready-made hole layout if I tell them I need it for an x-arcade? Or should I get a series of measurmements or something along those lines?

This looks too complicated for my taste, especially for a first timer and maybe operating on a tournament edition stick. I would be afraid of permanently fucking up my stuff.

I guess I don't really need a PS3 stick seeing as how I hardly ever play anything on there but if my friends had a ps3 w/ a fighting game i'd love to be able to take my stick over.

Maybe I can pay someone to mod one for me.

It is sorta complicated, because its delicate work if you have big clumsy hands like I do. However, its not too difficult to understand once you actually get inside the stick, the diagrams tend to make things look a bit different.

I would suggest looking at some actual picture tutorials on it when it comes out before deciding for sure.

Ok, Amazon corrected the SFIV tourney stick listings, so I canceled standard pre-order and went for 360 tourney. These look heavy duty, so I think it'll be worth it. Jus' waitin' on the official specs to come out...

Amazon should be fixed now, also you should be able to preorder the 360 FSTE at B&M GameStop stores now.

ALSO! Those of you preordering, Amazon stock is VERY limited. And they're going fast. So don't sleep... Amazon has free shipping and based on preorders so far, it might get ugly come launch.

Just so we're clear, Amazon is quite possibly the worst when it comes to pre-ordering. If they don't get enough stock to cover orders, they do not have a queue system, meaning that the guy who orders a day before launch can quite possibly get the stick that you had pre-ordered today. This has happened with several exclusive items.

And if you choose Super Saver Shipping, that screws you up even more because Amazon arbitrarily decides that in addition to sending your shipment economy class, they're also going to sit on your product for a while before shipping it out.

That's a definite possibility GuardianE (also sorry I didn't reply to your PMs yet, work has been really hectic because of the upcoming holiday weekend, I'll def get back to you soon).

Also, if anyone cares you should be able to preorder on GameCrazy website pretty soon.

I don't know when preorders will go up for the items on the Mad Catz store, but I'll find out.

Will there be an incentive / deal for pre-ordering on the Mad Catz website? (Similar to the way Red Octane hooks you up for ordering the GH games from them)

Nothing as of yet, but I'm working on something. If you don't want to be left out, I suggest preordering now just in case.

Preorders for the sticks and fightpad are now up on GameStop's site and on Amazon.

You can also preorder at B&M GameStop and GameCrazy stores.

GameCrazy will have online preorders up soon for these items as well.

I will say this, and I'm not even joking. They are limited. So if you can't find one later, don't cry to me!

Please look forward to an upcoming post on Capcom Unity regarding the latest info on these!

I just pre-ordered on Amazon and GameStop. Hopefully Amazon will be able to cover my order. Free shipping and no tax saves a ton of money.

MarkMan, why are they going to be so limited? Also, your posts seem to hint that Amazon knows how many they are getting and logically they wouldn't let people pre-order too many more than they are allocated (more in case people cancel). Is this accurate?

Perhaps that is the info he has to share, that they are limited to a production run of X.

anyone know where to find a cheap Hori stick for the 360... i tried ebay... all of them are about 50... i was hoping to find a stick to play with until the SFIV stick comes out

just preordered a tourney stick and gamepad
though i might cancel the gamepad if its not going to be hard to find like the tourney stick

I jus dropped $230 on a xbox stick to dual mod, and one pad for each system (jus to have them) and standard shipping was only $7.

that's a bargain and hella worth it considering the overall price of the package, as well as the tax on that in california is almost $20
