You could order it on EB/GS online and use coupon code 10ACC50 for 10% off if you don't feel like ordering from Amazon for some reason. After shipping charges and tax it should be slightly over or under $150.

I have Prime so Amazon for me.

I'm concerned about our little local Gamestops getting the Tourney Sticks in. I did preorder it about a month ago and got an email confirming the reservation though. It was listed as this:

PS3 Street Fighter Tour. Stick (SO)

Is that normal? The (SO) and all? That couldn't've stood for a dreaded "sold out" could it?

Thanks for the heads up.. after S/H and MD tax it came out to be $149.44  $0.55 cheaper than amazon...

Now if I could either get an amazon coupon or a GS free shipping coupon.. that would be an actual deal.

I just ordered the X360 mid level stick for $80 from Amazon (I have the SC4 stick for PS3, and wanted one for 360) I'd love to get the tournament edition but I can't justify spending that kinda cash on a stick for only one system (when I have cash to spend extra, I'll go to Arcade in a box or something and get a custom stick that works for PS3 and 360 both)

I wouldn't order from videogamecentral, they aren't an authorized reseller of ours. And those pics they have are weird, we never released those lol.

Ours? You work for Mad Catz?

I might end up buying MarkMan's stick anyway (and most certainly one of those pads) but I'm wondering for now what the best Xbox 360 controller is to mutilate for the circuit board inside when building one's own stick?

I've heard of those Madcatz arcade gamesticks being used, but they seem a bit pricey at retail. Are there any cheaper 3rd party pads that are good for tearing apart and re-soldering their insides?

Yeah I'm going to go out searching tomorrow, but amazon marketplace seems to believe them to be worth $35-ish and no gamestops are carrying them nearby. (they do go for $12.99 though in store)

Just wondering if there's any alternatives.

I thought for building your own stick all you need is any old Microsoft certified device? So wouldn't any cheap shitty controller do just fine?

Yeah that's what I thought, but things aren't always so simple. I do have a madcatz wired controller I wouldn't feel bad taking apart.

that unboxing video convinced me to preorder the sf4 te stick.

only thing is, not sure which system to get it for.

im definitely getting sf4 on 360 first since i already have a custom 360 stick. (ill probably get sf4 on ps3 later on once the price drops)

however i still need a ps3 stick for super turbo hd.

i guess i could get one for each system, just not sure i can justify that at 150 each.
Where's the best place to buy one??? OMGGZZZ. QUICK NOW SOMEONE TELL ME BEFORE EVERY PLACE IN THE WORLD RUNS OUT!
edit:ur talkin about the SFIV stick right? lol

Yeah... gamestop with 10% off is about 55 cents cheaper. Is that as good as we're gonna get? Is there any way to combine 10% off and free shipping? I guess GameStop doesn't do free shipping anymore? What about that cell phone coupon? That expired already?

I just noticed these on Lizard Lick's pushbutton page:

Yenox Pushbutton with Horizontal Microswitch
Translucent Pushbutton with Horizontal Microswitch

Both are described as being a bit shorter than the Happ button, fitting the standard 1.125" hole, and having a microswitch with .187" terminals.

I was worried about the standard Happ buttons not fitting in the bottom row of an X-arcade case, so something "a bit shorter" could be exactly what I'm looking for. Think these buttons could be a worthwhile Happ alternative?

I have the Tournament Editions tick pre-ordered for 360, along with SF4 Collector's Edition. Amazon is going to get a mint from me in February.

Looks like I'll be ordering mine from gamestop.. the 10% off, combined with 3% fatwallet cash back, and my credit card's 1.25% cash back is as good as it's gonna get it seems. :\

Sexy!

I got about half the money I will need for my SFIV extravaganza from birthday and christmas money, with still a bit left to come in.

it was 140 dollars or so, but I'll be getting the TE stick the CE ps3 and the regular 360 compy, and maybe a pad. So that still like 200 more bucks.

My super evil plan is to throw all the spare change I got into the savings and put 25 bucks a week into it until SFIV comes out, because by then it won't severly affect my immediate income!

That looks awesome. If I remotely knew how to wire, I'd get one of the NAS's and give my old custom a new box.

Also on a random note, the T5 stick I got from you years ago is getting modded today :)

I fucked up!!

AGAIN!!

vspf20.jpg

imprecision strikes as always... and 2 of my button holes are WAY too close

I cant screw them both down   I'm prolly gonna hafta glue it down.

it makes me real upset becoz I lack the tools and space to do this job as good as I know I can...

but at the same time it's whatever... I'm doing it anyways.
My boy ShinJN's CLEAN ass Norris!
yeah shinjn does really good wiring. i remember him doing a really clean namco mod awhile back.

best thing i like about this stick though is that he took off the funky extra restrictor on the ls32, unlike most people. :p
That wouldn't be the same T5 stick I traded you, would it? Either way it's pretty nice.
That would be the same one :)

What was that like 2-3 years ago?

My HRAP3 just shipped out as well. I paid out the $4.98 for shipping just for the faster service. I love the HRAP3 AE I bought from Markman's friend so I thought this would be a good companion piece. My wife really likes the HRAP3 and that gave me all the excuse I needed to buy the orange/black stick. All of my friends will now have to learn to play on Japanese style sticks.

Damn I didn't realize they were releasing American HRAPs for the next-gen consoles.

MM, should I stick with my Fight Stick Tournament Edition pre-order? What is better about the FSTE compared to the HRAP that they are releasing?
I'll explain all the reasons after CES.

I can't say shit til' then.

Hi bosses reading this.
ty, i look forward to it
The FSTE is better since it has Sanwa buttons and stick. The HRAPs just has a Sanwa stick with Hori buttons.
Not exactly a fair comparison. The HRAP3 seems to be the cheapest road to an all sanwa stick. Probably $120 to $130 range at this moment.

HRAP3 $90 shipped (amazon) :hot:
Sanwa Buttons $2.50 to $3.00 each (ebay or SRK.com)

Hi bosses reading this.
2 more weeks to go till CES.

wow... great thread guys, just spent the last few hours reading it and reading up on different sticks. I agree that this should probably be a sticky.

I've just been getting into SFT2HDR on 360 and have never owned an arcade stick, but I definitely feel like i'd like to give one a try. I've been using the joystick since the d-pad blows so much. I'm thinking of trying to get a Hori Ex2 for around 40 bucks if i can, and messing around with that. I figure i can always sell it off if I want to upgrade eventually, but I don't feel that I can justify a $150 dollar stick right now.

That's a good plan. The Hori EX2 is a decent stick. I use it to play HD Remix all the time.
