What are the chances the PS3 Mad Catz SFIV arcade stick or TE arcade stick will work on the next console barring there also being USB ports on the next one?
usb port or not, doesnt mean it will work. if that was the case, there would not be a different arcade stick for the ps3 AND the 360. microsoft has a priopritery code on there systems so u have to have there key to have a controller work on there system. thats is why the 360 stick costs more than the ps3 one(regular fightstick) the licensing costs more $. same with the hor fs3 and ex2.

He's talking about PSIV though, so even if there is a proprietary system, it should still incorporate bc for past Sony products.

yeah. sony has always been good like that. unless its not backward compatible like the current ps3's. thats y its so hard to find good adapters. also, the 360 cant use original xbox controllers. i know he meant ps4 but you never really know. plus we could have a super-reliable wireless by then that is as precise as a wired cord.
The shoryuken forums are down...I think I'm going to have a breakdown. Hey Markman, will bestbuy have the TE sticks in store?
nope..

If you want your boxes nice going through ups, do one or two day air, or have it small enough to fit in a small sort bag (think harry potter book size).

Otherwise, yeah your shits gonna get fucked up. I worked there last year, and we had no problem throwing shit around and stuff.

It's hard to be delicate when you have 500 packages coming at you an hour.

Yeah, I did overnight UPS air from Amazon for like 9 bucks. So they should hopefully not beat it up much.

I've received plenty of beat up boxes though. I watched them fling my motherboard I was mailing to get repaired into the back of the truck, double underhand. Dude just chucked it full force. O_O

So here's my first stick that I put together over this last winter break. JLF w/seimitsu buttons on a UPCB.

That's really pretty, and it looks like there's enough space under the buttons and stick to seat a small child.

Good work!

Where did you get the case?

Haha, I'm a giant dude of ogre-sized proportions and wanted to be able to rest my palms comfortably on the face of it.

The red is suede matting and the box is a "shadow box" I got from a craft store.

Yeah, it's a db15 connector. With the upcb you can make cables connect via db15 which tells your stick what system you're playing, you can read up on it over at SRK.

I really dig that stick. brighenne. It's simple and classy, not bling bling like some of the ones I've seen. Plus I've always wanted to make a multi system stick using DB15 cables.

I hate that the SFIV TE stick exists. Mostly because I can't explain why several times I almost pre-ordered one.

I have...

-Modded T5 PS2 stick w/ Sanwa Stick/Buttons & Custom Artwork
-Custom PSX/PS2 stick w/ Happ Comp Stick and Buttons & Custom Artwork
-HRAP 2 SA (Sanwa Stick/Buttons)

and two PS2--->PS3 converters (with no lag).

Still....I was contemplating getting the SFIV stick, even if it could only be used for PC/PS3

I hate you MarkMan :)

i started taking apart the hrap3 to mod it but stopped since i was still waiting on a part, decided might as well wait do it all at once.

anyways when reattaching the bottom plate i couldnt get it to fit back in flush all the around. no matter what i did, there would always be at least part of one edge sticking out.

now its probable that im an idiot, but i have no idea what the hell is going wrong here.

Holy shit. That dude's nuts, I can barely get past the first level unscathed using one ship, much less using both at once.

Wheres all the reviews of the standard edition stick?

I am going to get it for 360 no matter what, but instead of finishing my PS3 stick mod, I could use the buttons(sanwas)/stick(LS33) in the 360 stick if need be, since that will be my console of choice for SFIV. What do you think MarkMan?

i dunno if you can fit an ls33 at the proper height in any of the madcatz sticks because you would need an s shaped plate because those sticks have the short shaft and are meant to be mounted with flat mounting plates on metal control panels.

Hello everyone :D I'm new to CAG but looking for some advice on arcade sticks.

A friend of mine recently gave me his Dreamcast with MvC 1+2 and Power Stone 1+2. (He didn't want it anymore and he's too lazy for eBay! :p) The original DC controllers feel awkward, especially for fighting games :whistle2:( The Agetec ("Green Goblins") go for about $100+ on eBay, but I've heard a lot of differing opinions: people either LOVE them or HATE them. I can't find the ASCII Fight Stick FTs anywhere. I've heard mixed reviews on the Mas Super.PRO Sticks... they look solid and have multiconsole support, but they're ugly as sin (IMHO).

I'd like to get a stick for my PS2, but preferably something on the cheap. Something that will work with a Cube converter for GC would be even better. :D Any recommendations?

I've been playing the hell out of Tatsunoko vs Capcom lately. I'd like to get a good stick for my Wii/VC, but the only 2 I've found are from Exar & Hori. The Exar TvC edition stick is sexy as hell but it looks a little flimsy. The Hori stick looks pretty solid for the money, and the extra 2 buttons are a plus. Has anybody used either of these?

MarkMan: the TE sticks look awesome. I duplicated my order with Gamestop by mistake but with all the fervor that's ensued, I've decided to hang onto that 2nd stick :p I've heard there's a multiconsole Cthulhu being tested now; that would be a GREAT solution to purchasing multiple sticks. I'll probably mod one stick and keep the other as is. Hell, if it offers Wii or GC compatibility, I'll be in heaven!

Any feedback/advice you guys can offer is greatly appreciated! :)

DC stuff - I use convertors on the Dreamcast that allow me to use Saturn pads on the system. I think the one I primarily use is a Pelican convertor but I've had a couple different ones over the years. Some of them also allow the use of PS2 controllers which opens up a big world of stick choices.

I don't really like MAS sticks. I have one that is wired for DC/Saturn/PS2/Xbox but I almost never use it. The thing is too big for its own good and I learned through experience that I don't really like the Perfect 360 + HAPP joystick configuration.

Thanks for the advice everyone :D

I just picked up a HRAP2:SA (PS2) off eBay for $110 based on MarkMan's great ranking list (http://sdtekken.com/tech-area/arcade-sticks/arcade-stick-ranking/) and I'm getting a Cube Joybox Pro for my GC/Wii needs and a Pelican Total Control Plus for my DC needs. I'd say I'm pretty set!!!

With that, however, I'm probably only going to keep one of the SF4 TE sticks now (360 ver). I know what a great value it is for a top-notch stick but I don't think I can afford both anymore :whistle2:(

I think MAS love depends on your geographic location. I know everyone who plays marvel in these parts loves them, there's like 10 at each gathering.

I really like them, but I can't play them on the ground (the legs out around the sides, and back slanted down) because I'm way too tall to do that. It's very uncomfortable, but if you can find a good table or something go for it.

Edit: Oh shit hrap2sa = sexy. Hard to play marvel on jap stuff though, since it makes jumping weird compared to p360's

One of my favorite things about PS2 sticks is that there is pretty much a solid converter out for any system you might want to use it for.

MarkMan, I asked this in the FG thread but what is the best Saturn converter for PS2?

As much as it hurt to do it, I cancelled the pre order on my TE stick. I just couldn't justify having it and a HRAP3, and I needed the GC I preordered with.
