I'm not a fan of buttons going over faces. Just me tho. Maybe you can order PS-14z and do the art thru them in the future?
tried out ur advice

looks cooler!

This may or may not be of interest to anyone following this thread, but I will mention it anyway. I drove to a couple of distant TRUs to find that they had some Hori EX2s in stock. I am keeping at least one for myself, but I have a few extras that I bought to hopefully make mine cheap/free. They run about $64 in store. Looking for $85 shipped (which is considerably cheaper than what I am seeing on ebay). If anyone is interested, drop me a PM - first come first serve if there is any interest.

On another note, I have been playing with my EX2 for about two weeks now. I had to switch my main from Sim to Balrog because of the square gate, but I am finding the game to be much easier to learn on a pad once you get comfortable with the button layout.

Crazy weather... it got so warm yesterday that the glue on my troublesome solder point (the right directional) just fell off! I reattached the wire to the solder point with electrical tape, and it actually seems a lot more secure that way. Is there any harm in this (other than exposing my complete ignorance of proper soldering techniques)???

are you saying the glue fell off and took the wire off the solder point too? are you just using glue/ electrical tape to keep your wires in contact with the pcb?
are you saying the glue fell off and took the wire off the solder point too? are you just using glue/ electrical tape to keep your wires in contact with the pcb?
Actually when I got the stick in the mail (custom job) the wire had already come off the solder point slightly, I guess it got jostled during shipping or something. I moved the wire back in place and sort of pushed the glue into it... that worked, but every now and then it would come loose again. So the whole time I've just been playing with the wire and pushing a gob of glue around, I never really got a "secure" solution.

Now that I've got a TE on the way, I'm thinking of changing the art. Maybe something from one of my book covers. But I was also thinking about getting a SE just to mod the heck out of. Are there any step-by-step tutorials yet? Thanks.
Is the Hori Fightstick 3 good for an average-intermediate player like myself?
i'd say i'm an average/intermediate player and i really didn't like the hori ex2 which is basically the 360 version of the fightstick 3. i'd say try to get a fightstick SE that way you can use the stock parts, and when they no longer satisfy, quality replacements are easier to swap in than on an ex2 or fs3.

They are decent once you swap out the guts, but they are typically built with lesser parts than even the EX2. i have an EX2 that i put Sanwa Buttons and GT-Y gate and it feels pretty good other than the microswitches on the joystick. Once you swap out at least the buttons its decent, but i agree with Milky try to get your hands on something nicer like the SE or a HRAP

One of my buttons (Happ comp) occasionally gets "stuck" (like, you push it in and then it stays down for a sec before popping back up). Is there a good way to make that happen less?

Goddammit Lizard Lick is closed again until early May!!! They were open for all of 10 minutes. I should have ordered last night when I had the stuff in my cart. Ugh. I don't want to wait any longer for my JLF...

So they were really open for a lil bit? I been waiting since last month to get some Seimitsu buttons and a ball. If they were only open for like 10 mins it would've been impossible for my to ever put in an order. I don't check the site every second, only maybe once a day when I have time.

I wonder where MarkMan got his buttons & sticks from?
What site do you guys recommend buying a SE Stick from?
Not Capcom's store, that's for sure.:lol::lol::lol:

Amazon or GameStop might be good places to try.

This is driving me nuts, I'm tempted to buy a TE stick off craigs or ebay. It seems no one has a Cthulhu board or Sanwa White OBSF-30 for my T5 Hori rebuild.
Got my TE plexi from art thong today! This guy is awesome! He even laser cut my art and the buttons so it can fit in semi buttons!

http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/index.cfm

Now I'm just waiting for LL to open up again so I can get my clear semi buttons.
Did you take the stock art off the TE, I also bought the 1/16 plexi but haven't had a chance to switch it out. I contemplating on leaving the stock art on there.
Did you take off the stock art off the TE, I also bought the 1/16 plexi but haven't had a chance to switch it out. I contemplating on leaving the stock art on there.
I know on my HRAP3 i left my stock art on, but i know the TE art is a bit thicker.

I took off the Stock art. It was relatively easy to take off. I think if you want to put art on your TE you're going to have to take off the stock art due to the thickness of the art and the plexi.

Received my Mamemarquee custom art today and man, it's just as nice as everyone has said! I expected something really good and I was not disappointed! Unfortunately I don't have the buttons nor the screwdriver on hand right now so I can't do anything other than stare at the art. I'll have pics of it when it's done if anyone cares.

Also, thanks to Eastx for answering all my questions!
Wow that auction stole the bullets/descriptions on my site hahah, they changed a few things tho.
LOL I actually thought the guy was never going to ship because i thought it was a mistake, i was thinking that maybe he meant to put a buy it now of 100, that wasn't the case, dude really wanted 10 bucks for both of them

Great pickup. Congrats.

Best deal I got on Pelicans was when Barnes & Noble had a price error when they first came out. I bought 10 of them for $4.99 each.

Everyone thought they wouldn't honor it, but they DID!
