I will be on XBL for the next for hours.

If anyone wants to play VF5 send me a invite no matter what I am doing.

I'll play you after I eat lunch. Then I can see if you've improved. :)

Good matches, Logg. You've improved. You even beat me once. :) The best way to beat me is to overwhelm me. I like to control the pace of the fight.

So I played some VF5 las' nite. It's been a while, so of course I forgot how many freakin' moves there are to learn. Spent quite a while in arcade and dojo trying to relearn everything. Then I went into quest mode and proceeded to unlearn it all. :p

At least I did the unlockable/dress up stuff. that was coo'. 8)

I have a tech question.

Can you still have lag if you are playing a PS2 game on a PS3 (HDMI) with the Pelican PS2/PS3 controller adapter? Can you still get lag from the TV (LCD in this case)

I ask because I was trying to play CVS2 on my PS3 last night. Either my timing has really gotten off on my A-Vega and N-Akuma, or there is lag.

So I just got started playing Super SF2 on the VC. I can't remember, since it's been such a long time, but has Guile always been this good?

One of my friends has a Samsung LCD. I played Tekken 5 DR on it and I noticed it had lag. And when he played Wii on it, the cursor lagged behind the remote. His TV has a game mode that you have to switch on, and it greatly reduced the lag.

I just finished quest mode in VF5, now I need to beat all rivals and get all items and emblems. It will take awhile. . . My record right now is 437-18 with Aoi.

You are right. I hooked up my PS2 to a CRT TV just now and tried out CVS2. No problems in execution (A-Vega corner CC or Raging Demon off a Roll). Stupid HDTV's.

Also is VF your main game or do you play anything else?

Lately I've been hardcore into VF5, but I also play just about any fighter. My favs are VF5, Tekken 5 DR, Guilty Gear XX AC, Melty Blood AC, Third Strike, CvS2, MvC2, Project Justice, and KoF '98 or XI. Like I said, pretty much any of them. Fighting is my favorite genre, 2nd is RPG.

As far as HDTVs go, I'll never part with my Sony Trinitron CRT HDTV. It's only 27" and 4:3, but it does 480i and p, 720p, and 1080i. And it looks great. I'll eventually upgrade to a big plasma monster or something of the sort, but I'll always have this beast ready to go with some old school games.

Kof XI online would be fun for the 1,000 fighter fans that bought it, but not economically sound especially considering SNK USA or whatever's pretty low monetary stature.
HEY JOE!

Long time... yea you might have beat me once :(

But then the record now is like 32943804238-1! Right? Hahah j/k... I hope we all get to play T6, I'm just waiting for an arcade in SOCAL to get it...

But the thing is, since it'll be at the arcade, it's going to be a cut throat fest...
I think it was more like 1-5. The only time I really played you was when n8 had that session at his garage before Comic-con '06. =P I think the last time I spoke with you was trying to get in touch for AX '07. Damn... that's a while.

32943804238-1 was more like my record against Ogre at T5... or Ace at HSF2 =)

When does T6 come out again? I've been keeping myself busy with that unholy trinity of Rock Band, CoD4, and Halo 3...

Damn, I wish Tekken 6 would come out in Arcades HERE in SOCAL already... but for console... I don't want to say for sure... but a 'lil birdy told me May. So keep your fingers crossed.

Hopefully I'll get a playable build/preview of Soul Calibur IV soon.

Until then... Imma do it like I do them girls... Smashin....

The news/leak is all over the place... EVERYWHERE lolol...

May, huh? That would be sweet. And if you get a playable build of SCIV, I will be very jealous.

I'm playing some T5 DR online. I needed a break from VF5. It's surprising almost lag free. Last time I played online, it had a decent amount. But that was whenever the update came out. :)

Edit: NVM, lag showed its ugly face.

Word. I think that applies to a lot of us here in the FG thread. A friend of mine gave me some advice. It was basically to stick to one game and get down the mechanics/play down flat. So instead of juggling a bunch of different games and being decent at some of them, I'd be great at one.

Since CVS2 is my favorite fighting game, I decided to put a lot more time (most of it) into getting better. It definitely worked and I'm a lot better than say I was maybe 2 years ago. Then again I like playing a lot of different games, it kills boredom.

Also Sunnyvale Golfland here in the Bay Area was featured in a Gametap article. Read up everyone! :)

I've always wanted to visit Sunnyvale Golfland.

Yeah, I know how it feels to want to become better at a fighter. That's why I've been playing so much VF5. Having an online mode that's mostly lag free is great. I can beat the AI's ass all day, but playing against a human is a whole other story. . .
Nice. I can't describe the feeling, but it felt kinda like...I dunno, pride(?) when I was reading that article.
I just saw that you were Daly City. What do you play? Do you hit up MGL, SVGL or any other places in the Bay?

I never got to go to SHGL. I heard nothing but great things about that place.

Alsooo (courtesy of the SRK boards) looks like Arc Systems is working on a new 2-D fighter called "Blazblue"

*SCANS*

P.S: Dear Japan, release Battle Fantasia and Sengoku Basara X on PS3 and PS2 already. IMPORTZZZZZZZZ.

I used to go to Golfland, but now a lack of funds (and a lack of a car) has put a stop to that. I used to frequent Pier 39 ALL the time about 10+ years ago, back when it was something to brag about.

Nowadays, I'm out of practice on a lot of things. I should probably start playing KoF XI again. Last time, I was practicing with Shen, because he seems so good. My last team was Shen, Oswald (leader), and Duck King. Duck was someone I desperately needed practice with.

Those scans look nice. Blazblue? What a weird name.

I used to drive up to SHGL when I was in High School ( I live 2 hours away ) and that shit was so memorable. I'd drive 2 hours and ditch class just to get my ass handed to me in fighting games.

I'd do it again if I had the chance.

In for 10.

We need to play VF5 sometime Hank. I hear you're pretty good and beating arcade mode with everyone=props. Not sure I've ever beaten Dural

Chacrana and I are evening out a bit, but he still gets 5-7 win streaks in. I need to go through training mode for real and actually try to commit the subtle moves to memory-- Pai has a lot of variations on her strings that are a bitch to remember in the heat of a match.

Fighters > class, anyday. High school was a joke.

Blazblue looks sweet. I'll be on that when it comes out.

Yeah, we need to play sometime. I'll add you as a friend. I used Pai a TON during VF4 and VF4 Evo. I had all of these combo starters and combos that I'd just blitzkrieg the AI and my friends into dust. She's fun. She was the only character I had up to high king rank in both.
Hank - What-cha doing right now? Care for a match in VF5?
I'm just playing quest mode. You can beat me down now if you want. :) I didn't notice your friend request when you sent it because I wasn't looking at my TV. I was beating some kyu and low dan level scrubs in quest mode without looking at the TV by just pressing PPPK.

Hank - Thanks for the games, you kicked my ass. I really gotta practice more. I'm free tomarrow so maybe we'll play a few then.

That was a great series of matches, Rodimus. I honestly didn't expect to do so well against you. My Aoi is a lethal weapon, I guess. I had help from phantom range attacks though. ;)

I'll be up for some more tomorrow.

I have a friend on XBL that plays Aoi too, but he kicks my ass with her. So I've been practicing so I can beat him. He hasn't been on much lately though.

I tend to do much better against defensive players. I gotta hand it to ya, you were very relentless. Lei Fei's stances leave him so open and you were in my face the entire time I couldn't think fast enough. I had you going for awhile, but after 5th match you had my number. Let's do it again tomarrow!!!!

I was curious and checked my ranked stats. They are - 311 W 163 L

I wonder what they'd be if I kept playing....

My ranked record is 264 - 211. I always host, so I always seem to have higher level players challenging me. I'm getting better though. After I'm done with quest mode completely, I'll be playing ranked matches all the time.

 rodimus, you are having too much fun >_<

on that note, rodimus, I got a ton of fossils in animal crossing for you. I can't get them for you this weekend, but next week we can figure something out.
How is the online play in Capcom Vs. SNK 2 for Xbox? I've heard it's laggy.
That's what I've heard over at SRK. Then again it's always up and down with Xbox Live games. SFAC for instance...

I think CVS2 on Xbox is like the Gamecube version. Rebalanced characters and the removal of roll canceling.

This is correct, as the Xbox version is based on the EO version on the Lamecube.

If we want to get technical, the best version is considered to be the Dreamcast version.

Which I have ;)

Whatevs Mr. Showb0at. Play that shit.

I've also heard there are very little differences between the DC and PS2 version. I love my PS2 version.
