well, seeing that I've been waiting close to 2 years for the rival schools comic, I'll probably pick it up.
Yeah well that's Udon for ya.
This just in - Spectral vs. Generation is crap
haha, beat you to it about 2 pages back;)

it plays like a really bad guilty gear.

Oh I didn't realize you posted - yeah it's pretty weak, I honestly don't think that I'll ever play it again. Oh well.

the rumble fish is available somewhere as of yesterday, but umm...things aren't sharing it. if anyone can inform me in regards to this matter, please have your people contact my people via pm. [/cryptical]

I've been playing a ton of KOFXI lately. There's probably going to be a tournament at the end of the month at the arcade I play at. We'll hopefully be able to get the matches recorded. Stay tuned...

Rub It In!

When is the last day to sign up for evo? once I know what I'm doing this summer, I'll figure out if I can go or not... saddly it'll be my first tourney experience...

Also, are Arcade Sticks mandatory? if not, I may have to go with the the old (and less capable) PS2 pad... I hope I would get my ass kicked so I can learn quick.

It's BYOC(Bring your own controller). So bring whatever you're most comfortable with.

You can sign up at EVO at the event itself. If they do online signups again this year, that'd be a better way to sign up since you won't have to worry about the long lines the day of.

I hate lines... awsome about BYOC... if I'm up to par on a stick, I'll go stick, but if not, then pad it is.

The lines suck. But last year they did online registration and we still had to line up to sign those lame waivers. I hope they streamline it this year

MI2 is very fun. Everything cancels into everything and the chain combos are ridiculous. the game is soooo fast, but feels tighter than MI1. on a craziness level of VF4:Evo to MvC2....I think it might be more chaotic than MvC2 actually. the game would blow up your tv if it had a tag mode.

The original KoFMI was chaotic as is (most animations had minimal, um... animation or frames) KoFMI2. I like the pace of it since most 2d fighters matches always felt slow. I'm glad to hear all the combo damage has finally been fixed. I want it really badly, but I guess I'll wait... when's the US release?

I can't tell how much different it is from MI1. I played MI1 a few times right when it came out and disliked it, but my taste in fighters has changed a lot since then (I used not play any SNK games.) I just remember whiffing everything and being really confused as to what was going on in that game.

and Gigan is right about Luise-- she's insane. two very fast air dashes in ANY direction FTW. and if you don't roll out every time you fall when fighting her, there's a good chance she get at least 6 hits off of you  some other characters have ridiculous ground game as well, but back to homework for me...

Well, one insanely unfair fighter from MI1 was Mignon... her crouching punch had a long ass animation and multiple hits... not to mention her specials could pull your character off the ground, combo you, then kill you with a super... very broken IMHO.

Oh, and I checked on US release of MI2, and its "TBA" according to GameFAQs.

if I could sum up MI2 in one sentence: a 3d fighter with 2d timings, 2D special moves, 3D evasive tactics and parrying, but with the typically shorter 3D fighter life bar. basically, it's made of awesome and cool.

the dial-a-combos are really well implemented and don't break up the action too much, unlike say, 3D MK...were those in MI1?

Rolento: hopefully it'll be at E3. don't see why it wouldn't be.

on a side note, all these japanese ps2 fighters have online play. i'm jealous.

I never heard of it officially, but does MI2 have Japanese online play?
damn... yeah they are lucky then.... I hope they do that for US release or I'm genna get pissed, alot like when I heard Sony became anti 2d fighters...
of course it won't! Last Blade collection and garou are online too and I bet KOFXI will be. SNK has some other companies working with them for online play, i think.

This gave me an idea though...some 3rd party needs to offer publishers server space for their games so more ps2 games can go online in the U.S. charge them a cheap rate to act as host, offer streamlined software so it's easy to hook the games into their system and voila...that company gets rich and we finally get some ps2 online fighting games >_

anyone remember this?

It looked like it could have turned out pretty awsome... plus it had Haggar... HAGGAR! :(

EDIT: weird.. the picture disapeared...???

There's a lil backtalk that Namco might not have Tekken 6 at E3 after all. I hope they're able to get through crunch time and have the announcement ready by Tuesday.

PLEASE.

Sup everyone!

EVO DVDs... check www.shoryuken.com .... the 2005 DVDs will not be for sale physically... you'll see what I mean, check out the site.

Just bought... WoW today... -_-

wel, I guess that's the last time we'll be seeign markman for a long while;) . good luck with that though. any try not to literally die like that one guy in... korea was it?

here's hoping that namco delivers the goods to us next week. I'm not too big on tekken, but any news of a new fighter is good news.

and mignon isn't as cheap as she used to be, but duke still has the same rush down combo he had in the original game.if you're good at parrying, it should be a problem.

I've played with a little over half of the roster, but i still need about 13 more characters to go.

oh yeah, maxima is a monster! his counter attacks do way more damage than they should. plus he can now combo into and out of his command throws.

hyena is a joke character like dan, only far uglier. his projectile attack has unusually long build-up an moves slowly. his lvl 1 super is funny though. it's a walking counter and when hit, he instantly "dies." then he's revived back to his original health level, does a low kick and follwo sit up with a crane kick ala the karate kid.
plus he had a "flop" move where he stays on the ground and...well flops like a fish to greatly increase his super bar. you can also attack in this ground mode as well as bust out with the same super mentioned before minus the acquired counter. over all, a fun character with limited movesets intended to be used to own noobs to the series to ridicule them.

that's my report for now, I'll be back with more when I have more time to play. adn everything apossum said about how the game feels is accurate. this is one of the fastest fighters i've ever played. after a session of MI2, I played some kof 96 and was sucessfully able to air grab everybody that came my way with daimon's hcf+ a move. even those that were small jumping towards me. I saw it and felt like i had an eternity to react with it. that's just to give you a comparison of speeds. ok now I need to get ready for work. see ya.
Maxima has counters? Did anyone get new moves?
uhm... no , sorry i should've rephrased that. remember the counter hit message that every character gets when they counter someone's actions.... well that + a good 7 hit combo= 25+% of your life with maxima.

i got WoW when it first came out and i could not get off of it..

so much that my 3s game suffered

and i hardly ever came to check out CAG during that time

I can say that everyone I know that has purchased WoW has suffered in some area one or another due to WoW-aholicism... In fact I think 2 of my friends lost their girlfreinds due to WoW...

I can see how fun WoW can be, but seeing how addicted to FFXI I was when it first came out, I am staying clear of MMOs until they release a MMO brawler or MMO fighter

I was on the WoW bet for 6 months, the only way i got off was because they told me they wanted me to pay for it

I will not lose to WoW. I am strong. :)

When I used to play Diablo II: LOD I played then quit as soon as Tekken 4 came out... then I used to play City of Heroes and quit as soon as Tekken 5 came out... then now WoW... until Tekken 6 is out of course. ;)

Online games ain't no thang... Fighting games are my true love.

*I'll post back here in 6 months*

Hahaha.

i am a prime example of what happens when mmo (ffxi) goes bad.

grades dropped, nonexistant social life, crankiness, elitism...

........ say no to mmo!

luckily for me, I only played one MMORPG and it was for less than a month iirc. it was R.O.S.E. online, and it was free (the reason why iw as drawn to it ;)) it was fun and all, but I stopped while I was still able to. I think I joined a clan while I was playing. not sure who they were or what they were called, but whatevers. I don't want to remember.

I still think a river city ransom or final fight MMO would kick ass... somehow.

Hell yeah! with the original 2-d graphics too. it would be a pain running through hundreds of screens just to get to where the quest is, but hey, that's just like the original version ;)

the only MMO I played was Guild Wars...got over the wall, then I stopped caring because it got boring. I just can't get into the whole stat building and gold collecting thing. it needs some kind of a story and less people asking me a/s/l just because I used a female character

okay, just gotta write 3 more sentences to finish this paper, then back to MI2...

hmmm, i remember seeing a kof MMO a few years back. I recall seeing a whole bunch of kula's and ralfs. this was way back when kofonline was still around.

a KOF MMO would be interesting, but hectic...
