CAG Gaming Group - Call of Duty 4 Thursdays

Yeah, I'd love to be able to DVR it, but just can't afford a Tivo and monthly fees nor Comcast ridiculous prices for their HD-DVR.

Like the show too much to wait for DVD....DVD is for a second viewing of the season.
 
Sorry I skipped out early last night. I had a headache pretty much all night and Twenzor's screaming wasn't helping at all. Even after I muted him I could still hear him through at least three other people's headsets. That, and the fact that we went a good 10 minutes without getting into a game because of it just made me want to quit playing.

I just get home too late most of the time. Twen was killing me too. I have never waited that long for a match in CoD4. It's like I was playing Gears again. I just caught the end of it so it was kinda funny at first. Then the game dumped when I was 10-1 and the other team backed out bc of twen and it wasn't so funny. As soon as we finally joined a new room and it was that same group I knew he'd start up again and I don't know what was funnier twen or Simon yelling at him to shut up so people wouldn't back out. I ended up having a pretty good night as around 2 I told myself I'd quit when I had a - k/d match and I just kept playing and playing until 4:30.

I kept trying to say that when we were in the lobby waiting... Just no one could hear me over "Twen, shut the fuck up... twen seriously stop it... we want to fucking play." and "Tweeeennnzzzoooorrrr... Twwwweeeeennnzzzzzoorrrrr... Twen Twen Twen Twen Twen Twen Twenzzoooooooorrrrrr."

P.S. And the occasional "Yahh Trick Yahh".

Someone else had a good point to, but I don't remember who it was. It went something like "Twenzor you gotta go to work in 4 hours how the fuck do you got so much energy??"

Oh, man...what an insane night! I think me yelling at Twen was only encouraging him to act even crazier!! But that ENTIRE team leaving at the beginning of the game (and they weren't even a clan) just because of Twenzor's verbal abuse of them and their gamer tags, ....was simply Shaq-Fu'in Crazy.

But all of these factors made it yet another awesome [CAG] night!

And Chronotrigga, can't wait to have you back, brotha! May your 360 Rest In Peace :cry:

Had fun Saturday. Sorry I had to bolt midmatch, but my 9 mo old woke up screaming her head off. After looking at the COD4CAG list Saturday night should we just change the name to GTA4CAG cause wow. There was five of us playing COD4 and everyone else who was online was playing GTA4. Speaking of which I finally picked it up today, but I still plan on playing a good amount of COD.
 
I am still playing, just now instead of having a 50%/50% split between Rock Band and COD, i have to do a 33/33%/33% and mix in GTA IV... Today is a Rock Band and COD game if anyone is up for it

This week is going to be bad for me to get in on the games. I work late all week and haven't been getting out on time on top of that.

I do have Thursday off so I hope to get in on the fun then.
 
Chances are that I won't be on for the next two weeks at all...

This week I am home and working security/usher/crowd control for the National Golden Gloves Tournament... And then next week I have to finish two projects and all of the work that I am missing this week by not being at school. Then the following Monday and Tuesday I have my finals and am home free to wreak havoc with CAG Killas
 
Man, I ran the gamut of scores today. From 58-13 playing on Overgrown to 1-17 on Bog.

I've developed a theory that unless you hold the Marine spawn on Bog for the majority of the game, you will NEVER win. Every game I've played on Bog the team that had the Marine spawn absolutely blew out the other team. It is probably the most unbalanced map in any game I've ever played.

Yeah, how about those sniping bastards on that one map that kept gettin' us(I forget the name of that deserty town Z-shaped map with that long main street). They had a technique where one team member would run back and forth behind the sniper in in the windows as a distraction.

My favorite quote of the night was the one from Joe....don't recall how it went exactly but it was something like

"I like that double penetration [perk]" --joe :rofl:

Maybe when we don't get the Marine spawn, we should try hanging back in the back corner of the map, near C, staying under cover well (behind the fences) and waiting for them to come to us:



In the image above, we'd set up position in the red box. Two snipers could fire down the green lines (one at each pair of lines), while the rest of the team covers the middle area (red sight lines) with medium-range weapons.

Has anyone ever tried this strategy?

That actually looks pretty decent. If nothing else, they'd have to come at us to get us and could potentially push back so far that we get the good spawn. I hereby appoint WetNinja as General of the CAG army. haha

Also, I don't have a problem with you Twenzor as long as you're not screaming like a three year old that just drank a case of Redbull.

Yeah, I think my 3-yr old is better behaved when we play....he just "Awww!"'s when I kill or get killed.

BTW, I've been thinking about how we could probably greatly increase our killage/ownage (share some of that killin' hamster) if we would really communicate more (I'm looking at you Khondor ;-) and really team up and watch each other's backs (i.e. like the other teams in those couple of maps we got owned on last night). I know I'm not the best at communicating with all of my "SOB"'s but I try to communicate where there is somebody that just whacked me and I recall hamster doing the same. Just my 2 cents wrt things I've seen as of late.
 
I would definitely have more wins if I played with a steady core of people. I added cagcod4 to my list finally so I'll be looking some of you up.

Yeah, I know, I Know.......

I'll work on improving my gameplay communication.

I do like Ninja's strategy for Bog. Lets try that out tonight.


As a side note, During my previous prestige runs I never really
concentrated on leveling my weapons, but this time around I decided
to give it a try and now it's a damn addiction.
Im working on the Assault Rifles right now.
Close to red tiger for M16, M4, AK47 and Blue Tiger for the rest.
What do do you have to do to get Gold?

Cool, Bizarro13! I think you'll have a good time! All [CAG]s actually use good teamwork, are cool guys, and to be honest, are the reason I bought the game! (and Twenzor sings, too!)

Anyways, Fleshribbon, I agree with you, I will work on my communication a bit more too! I'll spend less time hitting on Hamster in-game, and more time....well, you'll see... xoxoxoxo

Complete every weapon in the class. Basically red tiger out all the weapons. I'm not even going to attempt such a thing until I get to the gold cross. I've actually been using no camo for all my weapons lately thanks to Blood Covenant. I'm actually ashamed that I was like "how do you get the Black M16?" at first. haha
 
I won't be on much in the near future either. Will be out of town most of this month, and swamped with work, dissertation and teaching a course through mid July. If purge is needed you could drop me.

Has anyone ever tried this strategy?[/quote]Honestly, the only time I go to that area of the map is to flank a sniper so I'm not sure of the sight lines, but this looks like a pretty good strategy to me. I have to agree it's hell when you are Opfor and the marines have 2+ really good snipers. I was in a TDM that was brutal just yesterday. I knew it would be bad when I ran across the street headed to the first box at the very beginning of the match and a sniper got me. In the killcam, I actually got to watch him from the very start of the match just standing there then run to the end of the wall, post up and blammo on a running target across the map. From the marine spawn, a couple good snipers can cover the street and the whole middle area, a couple troops can cover the door chokepoint on the left and the rest can go right side and flank. Ugly. Maybe worse than getting pushed back to the movie store spawn in Chinatown which I hate. By the time I broke through the door chokepoint and took out all three snipers it was way too late.

Ninja's strategy is much better than those who hole up in the opfor spawn as the sniper cover and grenades tossed over the wall and into the building make it a serious slaughterhouse. I just would like to add that when you get an airstrike that depending on where and how bunched up the close range opponents are it may be best to aim it for the snipers and follow it with a push to try and take their spawn.

Some more in depth strategy talk and planning would be really cool not that I don't like hearing all the jokes. I'm just not that much of a strategic leader cause this is my first online fps (second online shooter overall after Gears) so I don't know all the typical spawning patterns and the like.

Speaking of which, this may be a common strategy that all you fps veterans know about, but I figured out a trick when you've been stunned or flashbanged (sounds like something Simon would do, but I digress) especially when you're trapped in a room and someone tosses it in the door. I toss my own flash down by the door which restuns me, but often stuns the enemy who of course follows his stun/flash toss with a rush to kill me. At least this way we are even footing trying to find eachother as the stun wears off on both of us at the same time. Also, I think that when not in hardcore my flashbang won't affect any teammates in the room so once the opponent's stun wears off them they can see while the opponent is still stunned.

In Mercenary Team Deathmatch on Overgrown
I went 20-2-3
I was called a cheater by a member of the losing team because, and I quote

"You where not camping, you killed me all over the map, and there is no way you could have only died 3 times"

His reasoning is I had to have some kind of game hack or something.
Never mind that I had a silenced MP5 with UAV Jammer and killed most of his team from behind due to flanking. forget all of that, It was a hack :roll:

Okay that is completely irrelevant and makes no sense... But I am tired and could care a less, and missing the homo-erotic fun that is eluding me these next two weeks while I patiently finish out the term...

Lucky. I'm guessing you're probably a Spurs fan since the game is at San Antonio and you listed them first, but I'm pulling for the Hornets to win so hard just because the Spurs absolutely embarrassed the Suns in the first round.

And yeah, I'm going to be playing COD tonight since I didn't get a chance to last night. My new goal is to be gold crossed in a month.
 
After a GTAIV fueled absence, I should be making my glorious return to COD4 tonight. And by "glorious" I mean craptastic, as I have been away from the game for more than two weeks.

PS - I am in favor of Ninja's plan: The more coordination the better.
 
I should be on tonight too. If we try that plan on bog, I should not be one of the snipers. I am horrible with a sniper tifle.

It looks like the plan is worth a shot, when the other team has snipers in the middle it takes all of the fun out of that map.
