Yeah, Gears was awesome the other night, last nights session was too late for me.

I'm definitely up for playing more. I'll be out of town from Monday for a week or so though. May possibly be up for some this weekend. Probably not tonight though.

Hey all! So I have an OT question. I was planning to get back into NG2 when I got back, but am now wondering if I should try out GOW instead. Between: GOW, NG2, Lego Indiana Jones, R6V2 and Oblivion, which game should I try next? Thanks!! :)

Gears of War undoubtedly.

1. there's still a very good CAG and Non-CAG online community in there.
2. it is, without question, a game that has sold many 360s.
3. part 2 is coming out this year. What better way to warm up?
4. that fancy new (and cheap) limited edition is out now!

I'm sure the rest of the games are cool, but Gears is still a very important game in the grand (gaming) scheme of things!
 
I haven't played Oblivion, but have either owned or played Ninja Gaiden 2, Lego Indiana Jones, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, and Gears of War.

It depends on what you want to next experience. I'm sure you know what each game entails, so I won't prattle forth. I will say that the camera was a bit atrocious in Lego Indiana Jones and Ninja Gaiden 2 with the latter featuring the worse camera of the two.

In regards to online multiplayer play, Vegas 2 and Gears of War would be your best bets. I rank Gears higher due to the intense nature of its small, intimate teams (maximum 4-on-4 play). It is a game where it's much better playing with people you know.

Vegas 2 is billed as a tactical shooter, but I feel Gears (or even Team Fortress 2 and Bad Company) offer much more strategic value. It also doesn't help that Vegas 2 looks very bland in comparison to all other games you listed. A couple good points about Vegas 2 would be its Terrorist Hunt mode and solid party system.

I assume Oblivion would offer the best story, given the fact it's a fantasy RPG. While the remaining titles are just average stories, I'd rank Indiana Jones higher, as I rather enjoyed the humorous cutscenes and film references. After that, I'd have Gears above Ninja Gaiden 2 with Vegas 2 trailing. Vegas 2's story just falls flat in every regard.

It is your choice. Choose wisely. ;)
 
Wow that was a lot of fast, informative responses! Sounds like a consensus that Gears is the way to go next with Lego or Oblivion to follow (or intermix)....

Have played TF2 a few times and actually really enjoyed it before getting sucked into COD4! I love the cartoony look to the characters. :) Will have to give that one some more goes when I get back!! (it's not like I don't have enough to play ; ) ).
 
Yeah, I can attest to Oblivion's soul sucking powers. I dumped 180+ hours of my life into that game and would have probably done more if I hadn't accidentally erased all the save data from my hard drive when trying to clear space. And this is coming from someone who originally looked at the game and scoffed at it, telling my friends who gushed about how awesome it was that I would never play it. My friend (the same friend who borrowed my copy of Gears) has my copy right now and I don't want it back.

I can say that of all the games I'd recommend Gears just from the last two nights play sessions we've had. It has honestly be just about the most fun I've had online playing with you guys. Its also the only game that'll get me screaming at my tv like Simon does regularly, haha. There's just something waaaaaay too satifying about three of us ganging up to chainsaw Fleshribbon in half...

Work makes me miss you guys, that and drinking after work.

Everytime I play I only last 4 or 5 matches before I'm either too fucked up or my eyes have grown puffy....also from drinking.

I'll see about UT3 later on down the line, right now I'm dissapointed in Bad Company, I know the objective is to grab the gold but it's just so frustrating getting there and I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing...the squad system confuses me greatly and I think some of the Online Achievements are broken.

However, if any of you guys have Burnout Paradise, I've been having a helluva blast on and offline with that game....

Also, if anyone's interested in Rock Band full set...I know an outlet store selling it for 80 bucks. If you live in the LA area.

i will add you on my slimjim account for burnout and even battlefield. i am starting to get bored of call of duty a little and i have been playing a lot of bladestorm on my one account. i need achievements in burnout still and enjoyed it while i was playing it and battlefield is alright if you have your own squad with you. it really sucks when there is only 2 of you in one squad and like 8 in the other squad.

Joe, I'm game. I got my copy around the time I really got into COD4 so I need to revisit that one as I remember it being oodles of fun :bouncy:. I have yet to play online.

I had a lot of fun last night Khondor.....uh, the UT3 co-op campaign was fun ,albeit fucking confusing at times. Epic makes an effort to guide you, literally with glowing arrows on the ground, with what the hell to do in some of those game types but it's still pretty damn confusing as hell. Sorry, you couldn't get in chase, I'm not sure if I needed to wait to start the level, if there is a 2-person limit, or if there was something else going on there.

One last thing, the GoW2 MP preview on the UT3 disc looks pretty damn sweet!

yes, and i am almost getting too excited, and eager to Play Gears2. and watching that, makes me want to play gears more.

'Walker Texas Ranger Roundhouse Kick to the Face' is my specialty. along with a long range headshot ;)
 
You know I think I am going to head back to COD4. Bad Company is not that good.

It has the most annoying/worst spawn system I have ever came across. The weapons all seem so weak.

I am really not liking it that much.

i agree with the spawn system in battlefield, it is terrible. defending the gold crates is so easy to do that i have never lost while defending (and i have barely played it at all). if you have a squad of your own set up though, it is actually not that bad if the last person knows to stay alive and everyone is talking to each other in that squad.

i still find myself playing call of duty 4 the most out of everything, but it is getting extremely boring / annoying. i have been playing S&D lately and dominating on there, but i think it has some of the most annoying players i have ever dealt with in it (not trash talking, but perks). everyone either has a grenade launcher to shoot the spawn or 3x frag, juggernaut has been popping up more in this than any other gametype i have played, and martyrdom of course is always there too. i have been enjoying C4'ing people on s&d though, it is the first time i have actually used it and i was getting 3-4 kills a game (not round) with it.

I didn't get a response from FourZeroTwo (Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward community manager) in regards to testing the new game modes. :whistle2:( I suppose it's for the better - as absence makes the heart grow fonder (or Fonda), or something.

I'm glad I made last night such an enjoyable experience for all of those who killed the sh*t out of me.....especially DCriminal getting all of those head-shot snipe kills off of me.

I had the shittiest night on COD4 in a long time other than 1 match where I was at the top of the list on my team. It was a fight between me and gravytrain for the bottom spot ;)

I'm just going to blame it on the stress from work lately :bomb:
 
Alright Soodmeg is coming back to COD4 and he is bring out the big guns.

Bad Company fucking sucks. I rarely ever really hate a game but that games just plain sucks ass.

Looks like its COD4 unless a good shooter comes out. I am going to try to beat my personal record of 78 kills in the next couple days.

Gotta agree with you there Sood. I was actually in a couple of games with you but the squad system makes it impossible to join in on a friends game, or communicate with any other players.

It's fucken Impossible.
