CAG Gaming Group - Rainbow Six: Vegas Thursdays (Gomer V1 or Wowous Hosting)

Quick question for a 1st timer, what game types and maps does the group usually play? Also are there any specific settings, etc. that I should know about or do we pretty much make it up as we go along? Sorry if this is posted somewhere and I missed it!

We will do it as we go along, switching in between team sharpshooter, Attack and Defend, and reg. sharpshooter when the room is small and time needs to be killed. Make sure to have both map packs downloaded.

I only started playing this week, but at worst I'll be one more target for people to shoot at! ;)

Gomer I will be there tonight, but not until 11:30 or 12, hopefully some people will still be on. I know the first time we played until 1:30 or 2, so hopefully we can do that again.
 
I'm off from work tomorrow so I'll be on late tonight so everyone should get something in. We may have over the ammount of people for one room so if my room gets full and you're on my list, make another one or see if another CAG has one already. If another room does get made, please make sure to write stats down after each game, thanks!!!!
 
I can't make it tonight. I am beat. My dad had cardiac arrest last night and almost didn't make it through the night. He is doing fine now, but I haven't had shit for sleep. This friday I should be on late though. Trying to keep my mind active and not worrying. Anyway, can't wait for next week!

pretty fun tonight, no playing with douche bags. cheapy and wombat sounded a lot different from their radio voices.
 
Good games tonight, but I've got to say, I'm a bit miffed at the QoS we're g getting from Live. If that's the best 16 people can muster, MS needs to start hosting servers for the big games. Also, 100 friend limit = lame.

Enough of the complaining; it's still great fun playing with CAGs. See you next week.

Also, I think we had some name confusion... Crimson Paw was the one that hosted the first R6: Vegas night, and his Gamertag is Cronus Weep. I had him confused with triforcer (crimson noir ^) all night. Sorry.

Sorry.[/quote]yea i noticed that too when someone said that my hosting was pretty good. would of used triforcer for my gamertag, but it's been taken since i used it on my original xbox (stupid how they don't delete expired accounts, especially since you can't renew them after they expire). and from someone who used to play battlefield 2 on the PC, 16 people is puny and i think are money should go into dedicated servers.
 
Sorry I missed out on tonight, but you know how life goes. Glad to hear lots were involved and will look forward to it next week.

Also, I agree with you Coke, that 100 friend limit is biting my ass right now.
 
Sorry to the people I had to kick, but majority of us stayed with pistols. Figured that after the first kick, people would get the hint. Oh well, still fun night. And I guess we learned that I can host at least 9 people...unless you guys were lagging and didn't say anything about it. And Coke, what was with the joining and leaving?

I got dropped, and when I came back the screen was dark (had some sort of filter left on it). So I left, then came back. The darkness was fixed, but I got dropped again, and gave up.
 
are you letting the game load past the "game experience may change during online play" screen? I've noticed that if I don't do that it loads up a blank screen with "game lobby" at the top and I'm not able to do anything. this chick I used to play t-hunts with told me to let it load past that screen to the main menu and it shouldn't do it. I usually load the PEC lobby before trying to hop into matches.
 
Thanks for the games last nights gents, was a lot of fun, even with the connection/my 360 freezing issues.

Don't sweat it, we probably deserved it anyways! :lol: Once someone broke out an assault rifle you knew it would go downhill from there. Actually other than that game I dont think we had any real issues last night. Except for the poor connection causing people to freeze up the first few games. Once Cheapy started hosting the QoS seemed to improve. Those japanese servers must be wide open based on the number of 360's sold in japan! :bouncy:

D'oh... that was probably me. I didn't realize it was a pistol only match... I had setup the voice chat setting to mute anyone but friends, so if there was an announcement over the chat about the match limitation I missed it. Sorry.

I'll give it another shot next week... but for future reference, is there any other way of finding out what sort of limitations there are for a match before joining?
 
Yup, good times. That hallway in the Library was a good spot to get together with fellow CAGs and get killed. Attack and Defend in Dante's Casino was pretty damn fun as well. I thoroughly enjoy that machine gun emplacement covering the hallway.

That's hilarious because in response to you shooting me with the assault rifle a couple times I definitely busted out the famas for a while.

I had a blast last night. Not to get too teary eyed or anything, but I love gaming with CAG. So much better than pressing my luck with "quick match". I've grown a new appreciation for XBL having cool people to play with.
 
So I’ve been strongly considering purchasing this game after I knock out all the Gears achievements. Gathering from this thread it sounds like yall have a lot of fun with it. The only tactical shooter I have ever gotten into was Counter Strike; is this game comparable at all to CS?
 
Great games last night guys. I don't usually play live much anymore, but a good group like the one last night makes it so much better. Sorry I had to drop out so early. Can't wait for next Thurs.

Not exactly...If you're looking for CS replacement, get Shadowrun. This game is tons of fun, though not sure what I would compare it to.

Our whole team was even telling you, so thats why I ended up booting you. And the pistols only thing was just a spur of the moment decision; we decided to have some fun since I was going to head out and I was the host.

yeah, sorry about the assault rifle kills. Someone mentioned that the other team wasn't using pistols so I switched for a minute, but I went back to using my shitty glock after I realized they still were.
 
Im def gonna try to join you guys this week. Ive been playing nothing but Vegas for the last 2 weeks anyway, I might as well get in with some good people online.

Also, my roommate (X2hot2holdX) won't be on, unless its while I'm gone, since his 360 just died yesterday. Anyways, someone who's willing to be on at 8 PM Eastern and host, let me know and I'll let everyone in the OP know you're hosting.

I can host if no one else wants to.
 
I'll be on tonight from 8pm, I could host it but my connection didn't seem as strong as others last week so Lord Wow is probably a better bet.

I'm available as a back-up if needed.
 
I'll let you host to start off Wowous. I'll post it in the headline and OP so people know who to look for. Whenever you have to get off of LIVE, I can take over the hosting duties. Thanks for helpin out dude (may need you to more often if work ends up coming up Thursdays).
 
Ill probably hop on, but it will be later in the night. I dont get off work untill 10 pm EST, and I still need to get home and eat. If the main CAG room is full, I can run a backup room if people are still on at that time.
