Look, we're listening to what you guys are saying and (as far as I'm concerned) definitely not trying to take the fun out of CAG.
But check out this thread:

In there, several people were complaining that things were too loosely modded around here and we needed to be stricter in order to return CAG to the "good ol' days". I think the infraction system was put in place partly to address this.
So we have one group of users feeling things have gotten out of hand and the board isn't fun any more, another set reacting to the changes saying the exact same thing but for completely opposite reasons, and the vast majority of CAGs waiting it out to see what happens.
This is still a beta thing - let's see where it goes. And yes, I'm well aware some of you think it has gone to a very bad place

. I think we need to give it a bit more time though.
The problem is this set of people that constantly post "Oh god I miss the good old days of 2007 I'm taking CAG hiatus because everyone sucks! Blah blah blah" get to run this system by reporting anything just a bit offensive and getting the poster punished.
One big appeal of CAG to me was the fact that it wasn't a board where the number one rule was "This is a board where pre-teens post, so it needs to stay G rated." CAg was a place where you could be more out of line than that and it was accepted, because everyone was mature and knew what was going on. People got in bitch fights, and got over it. It was part of the community that wasn't hurting anybody, except, apparently, this group of people that want their message boards as clean as a Saturday morning cartoon, which is ridiculous.
