CAG Killzone 2 Game Night [Currently Inactive]
get a PSN card at the store if anything.
I don't think they have any PSN cards right now in Canada.
I think someone said ebgames is having them soon? I don't think they have it now though.

Also, the paypal plugin is only for americans. I tried downloading the plugin and it told me I couldn't since I'm accessing the site from Canada.

poor me

Burnaby, eh? No way to hitch a ride down to Washington?

But this is Killzone 2 we're talking about! You don't think it's worth it?
Or.. Can't you get some kind relative to put some money on the account?

I have Killzone 2 Map Pack available, thought I would offer it here before I go elsewhere. I bought them and I have 1 slot left to share. If you have something you want to trade for them or buy them if you dont have a CC or PSN card, LET ME KNOW SOON.

I'll offer you my kindness and a hundred thank yous =)

invin: my friend said he was going to buy it and share it with me since he has a credit card, but he went to toronto to see his gf so iono when he's coming back. i might be able to ask my bro, 25% chance he'll say yes, before he leaves for taiwan in 2 days. my sister would likely say no

Oh god... Playing bodycount only with "strangers" is really annoying.
First, I was using the rocket launcher (I was getting my boost medal... so sue me ) and about a quarter of the time when I killed someone I'd hear "Rocket n00b" or "fucking rocket n00b"... funny, later that night I was playing against people using rockets when I was using a shotgun and could dodge the rockets at least half the time. I just kept thinking "If you don't want to be bothered by rockets, play on a different server."
Then, there was a guy who would scream "WHAT THE fuck!!!!" "BULLSHIT!!!" "fuck!!!!!!!!" everytime I killed him... he end up getting muted.
Then, in the same game, there was a Hispanic guy (who was on my team :D) who was constantly saying "puto." I was laughing, but the guy from above's friend (they were in the same clan) wasn't and was constantly making fun of him... someone got a grief report.

I'll be happy when this week is over.

haha yeah I love it. Rockets are easy to dodge but people call the people using them "noobs."

I nailed this kid one time and I hear him go "Really? You had to use a rocket? really?" And then later I was camping his base and I naded him and he goes "Really? You had to use a grenade? really?" lol there's only so many weapons.

Basically if you kill someone your a noob. haha. makes sense, right?
there was a guy who would scream "WHAT THE fuck!!!!" "BULLSHIT!!!" "fuck!!!!!!!!" everytime I killed him...
You sure that wasn't me? I bitch and moan all the time! at least Im aware that i do it tho :D

Sometimes it's downright amusing what people say, the other day I boosted and Mike Tyson-ed two guys on the other team that were standing together and I could hear them talking to each other "that was gay" "totally gay" and belly aching about it and I was just chuckling to myself. Another time, it was a small match 3vs3 at first on the Corinth Crossing map and as a helgan, I threw a spawn grenade by the ISA seek and destroy area. I got killed by this guy 2 or 3 times in a row until I figured out what he was doing and started picking him off instead. It quickly went from him gloating to him being like, "ah, what the hell... what was that?" :D

On the other hand, I was following a guy and shooting at him with a pistol and as we rounded a corner, I was reloading and a teammate who was standing there got me and next thing I know the guy who I was following turned around and said, "Good night! Goooood night... goood night" over and over at least until I respawned. It was pretty obnoxious. I don't use my headset (as much as I should) so I bitch and complain like a madman since no one else can hear me, but I'm pretty good at biting my lip while playing with it. I've been caught on a tangent once or twice but nothing out of hand.

Tonight I was playing in one of the insanely long matches on Blood Gratch, you know where every gamemode is like 30min. And the team I'm on stinks(When you shoot up to number 1 on your team within minutes of joining a server in progress you know something is wrong). They don't switch class to adapt to changes in the game, so we're getting steamrolled over and over again. Mind you this crazy total warfare is netting me plenty of airbot kills so I don't much care. Finally the last round rolls up, assassination, they have to defend, and since they have us bottled up in our spawn it's a sure win and shutout. So being a bit crazy I decide to switch over to assault and take out the target. I can guess where he is (behind that staircase on the ISA side) so I begin spawn and make my way over by taking the paths they aren't on. I'm halfway there when I finally get seen and I hit the boost. They start going nuts, "oh shit" and "hey! watchout" but by that time I've already gotten into position and take the guy out with a rocket and get killed by half the team coming to the target's rescuce. And what do I hear: "Of course, a rocket. pfffff. that's weak."

The rockets are so painful because most of the maps have narrow corridors where most of the action takes place. I can only think of one that has a lot of room, but even that is broken up be long narrow bridges/passage ways.

I'd love to see what happens then there isn't as many solid items to create splash damage on. I'd love a wide open field type map. Though this is killzone so there seems to always need to be something to lean against. And plus I like my rifle so... Distance = my friend.

nampaehc: weve been playing without rockets and nade launchers the last few games and its been more interesting. now they just need to add ability to ban hand nades and wed be set.

Now that I think about it, you were bitching about my knife in Warhawk last week.

Last night I was playing in pistols only bodycount, it was fun.:D
I got a lot better with the pistol/magnum. Though, I kept getting annoyed since people would only set up spawn points for the first half of the game, the second half I'd have to boost over to where the action was taking place to try to get a few more kills.

Speaking of pistol only, we should do a pistol only CAG night.

All right, I have a lot of news for everyone. Please don't expect me from now on to post in the thread with updates.

For Thursday, May 14th, at 9pm EST (6pm PST), I MIGHT go ahead and host (I'll let karmafeed or someone know I will not host), not 100% guaranteed. If I do host, the Assault class will be turned on; however, BOTH rocket launchers and grenade launchers are going off. One day I'd like to have a night for the map pack (since I have it), but I honestly don't know when it would work out. Same information as every week to join.

For Saturday, May 16th, at 4pm EST (1pm PST and 8pm GMT + 0 for those in the U.K.), there will be a clan match against GAF (their European clan, that's why this is an afternoon game). Only 5 people from the main CAG clan are needed. If you have NOT been invited to the main CAG clan or accepted your invite as of today, you will NOT be able to participate in the clan battle (KZ2 locks clans from adding new players just to compete against a clan. That is why people who were added couldn't join other battles).

As for a game Saturday evening, if someone wants to host, I will add a Saturday evening game to the schedule (I apologize for the mistakes last week). I will not be there.

I'll show up for CAG Night tomorrow but I won't be able to make the match on Saturday. Good luck to those who play... GAFe is pretty good.

PSN-ID: norcaljr20
Headset: not yet
Clan Choice: casual
Time Zone: PST? im from CA

i have the new maps also

DD83 your weekly stats are insane! If you don't get an honor ribbon I'll seriously cry. Mainly because I'd have to work even harder then that to get it.

I'm still gonna get around 3500 more points before the week is over. I figure, if I rank up to General of the Armies I'll for sure get all the honor ranks in one go. Thankfully pistol only bodycount is a hella fast way to earn points.

I'll be there tonight (I've missed the last 2 CAG nights, sorry). I can do Saturday as well, but I haven't played much KZ2 lately so if we have enough people, I can sit out.

are we doing new maps? or is it same as always?

also, Ribbon nights would be great... basically play Melee matches strictly for a bit or assasination or something, whoever needs what.

I second this. I'd be down for this! Also, I should be on tonight.

haha good games! too funny! at one point I had an awesome spot set up perched up on a window ledge and I saw Allah in the alley and shot him through the grates. Then I hear him "you better not stay up there!" lol I was like "no way! he did not see me up here!"
So, I take off and get killed then go back there and sure enough there he was to kill me lol!

Gotta say that the time I've been putting in has helped. I actually yelled out some defensive warnings a few times tonight and my throwing arm is getting better as well. I was following someone on the verge of reloading and tossed a grenade that exploded right in front of them on the tharsis map. Another time I chucked a grenade slightly off and it looked like a teammate kicked it (bounced off his foot) and I ended up getting the kill. I guess it'd be slop in pool terms, but close enough counts with explosives. I even zoomed in and picked off a sniper or two in blood gracht (whatever it's called).

All in all, it's definitely fun playing with the CAG crew. Certain members like to sing and bust out random one liners mid game play and it sets a better mood. :bouncy:

fun as always. and thanks to those that died by my sniper rifle. you are helping me to increase my ribbon count :) unfortunately ill be sniping a lot until i get the ribbon, after that ill play as normal. i also change off sniper for gametypes like assassination and such.

Bleck, was out yesterday so I couldn't make it to the game. Only a few more points till the next rank too...
Anyways, reading QiG's post, I remember one time I got an accidental kill. I threw a grenade into a room full of Helgast though it didn't look like it'd reach the group, but Allah ran in as I threw it so it bounced off his head and into the group netting me 3 kills.

It was refreshing to play with this group tonight, as I feel more free to be vocal other then shouting encouragements and warnings like I do with strangers. I would have stayed longer but was a bit tired and hungry from all the KZ2 I had been playing before the CAG night started.

It's kinda funny that after playing KZ2 a lot during any given evening, it fills my subconscious, so that when I lay down to sleep that night all I see is KZ2 warzone. It's weird to see Helgast red eyes moving around, shooting and geting shot as I drift off to sleep.

haha! That happened to me when I first got it. Drove me nuts. I would close my eyes and see multiplayer killzone 2 battles going on in my head.

So I'm not the only one! Oh man.

I have to say that this is the most infuriating game I've played in quite some time. I've been stuck on the palace level fighting radec and his waves of assholes for the last 2 days.

I'm so sick and tired of my useless ass AI teammate (Rico) just standing there and getting killed rather than helping. The retard can't even do something so simple as watch my back as I kill most of them. Because of this I make it to the part where they come out with rocket launchers, but no further.

I'm pretty close to just taking the disc out and snapping it in two.

Anyone have any advice for getting past this part?

I guess I'll spoiler this just in case:
What difficulty are you on? I had a hell of a time getting through this on easy for the "no deaths" trophy. After a while you pick up on the waves that come through. First from the far side of the room, then some flamethrowing guys spawn behind you and as soon as you can get up on the balcony, camp out up there. Make sure you make use of the grenade launcher for the first few rounds of guys that spawn on the floor level and then keep an eye out for a few stragglers that make up on the balcony with you. This is probably the only real point in the game I made use of the cover system. But.. grenade those guys and when the RPG enemies spawn at the far side of the room, run up the side of the balcony and cram some grenades down their gullets. A ship will crash through and more RPG guys spawn, so don't stray too far. At this point, I'd go back to a regular gun to finish off what's left on the ground left and make sure you grab the shotty to take care of Radec. If I didn't have surround sound and could hear him rummaging behind me, I don't know how I would have won, but as soon as you don't see him, make sure you're moving and spinning around til he's in sight again because he'll run up and stab you and finish you off pretty quick if he gets a drop on you.

I found Rico useful moreso to draw fire than kill enemies. You'd think he'd take a few more out than he actually does the way he stands there and takes bullets while lining up his shot, but I guess you can't count on him to do all the work. Also make sure you're not in Radecs line of sight while on the ground floor before he comes out to fight. He sits up there shooting at you the whole time.

The other day I played a lot and later that night, when I was trying to sleep, all I heard was the sound of making a kill, you know, that "bring" type sound.

Thanks for the advice QiG. I'll try that out. I'm on veteran difficulty right now. There have been some other tough sections throughout the game, but damn, this is on a whole 'nother level.

As for Rico, he does a good job of drawing fire alright. It's just that he is always standing next to me when he does it.

Yeah that battle was ridiculous. I was able to finish after a gajillion tries. And that was on Veteran! Now I have to do it on Elite just so I can say that I'm truly a man...

I'm sure the devs intended it, but that sound is so nice to hear... it's almost a drug. It's something that feels great when you hear.
