CAG Killzone 2 Game Night [Currently Inactive]

sorry had to bail early :( family came over.

i was getting insanely pissed that i couldnt get my mic working. i could see the icons, but hear nothing, i could speak tho. the second time i joined my teammates may have heard a loud noise...that was me throwing my mic into the wall :D:D:D ill test it in a bit to see if it works or not out-of-game.

its also unlikely that ill make it sat...work. but ill try

Sorry I didn't show up guys. What time did you guys start and end? I got on at around 9:50 and only saw Salton.
 
Sorry I have been busy with UFC on the 360 this week but I did play last week. When was the time posted for the game night today? I could of sworn I check this afternoon and didn't see anything about it. I guess I'll have to click into the thread each time instead of just checking the title.

Ya, thats recommended. The thread title is updated pretty well, but not as fast and often as it used to be.

Hey guys, I'm interested in joining a clan and playing with you guys. I'm pretty good (always in the top 5 on 32-player games) and I'm a team player and have a mic. I live in SoCal and usually go on after 10pm PST. My PSN is Socratic-Method.
 
im going to start hosting a server every night at 9 pm est in an attempt to try to get more people around
and hopfully get some clan matches going eventually
the games wont always be password protected so they might be a little hard to find
add Salton-Milton to your psn to make it easier to find the game
 
those games last night were a riot, salton. That kid that that kept calling me a bitch or something lol. It was because I kept hiding by their spawn and killing him every SINGLE time he came out. He never thought to go a different way around and come back to kill me.
I never teabag people in games but when he started calling me names I just constantly teabagged the kid every time. shit was hilarious. A couple times he would start talking trash while shooting at me, miss, and then I would kill him.
 
I can vouch for Salton's awesome 6v6 games. It feels like the way the game was meant to be played. 32 is too many for most of the maps.

Thanks for volunteering to host, Salton!

Maybe you could password protect the games on Thursday at least, as we generally get a pretty good turn out that night and it'd be a shame for CAGers to fight against walk-ins.

good games tonight. had to deal with some insanse campers on one game tho...it was pathetic. they literally sat there the Entire map.....oh well..noobs

other than that.. fun fun.
 
I haven't been able to make the last couple of cag night games because of business travel. Still can't make it this thursday but hopefully I can the following week. Thanks Salton for hosting, I'll hop on tonight and tomorrow night. Will you have any of the new maps in the rotation? I got them and haven't had a chance to play them yet.

I was mainly just thinking about the rest of the week but 1 more day wont hurt.

yeah I tried to host one
anyway I think i failed miserably
not many showed
I think I'll just stick to being online around that time and try to be in the same game as other members

Stopped by to mention an update patch is coming out TOMORROW, v 1.27 with the following highlights:

The ‘Join Friend’ option has been changed so that the player can automatically join a friend’s faction and squad – even if faction balancing is on. In addition, squads and their factions are now persistent over multiple games, so friends can keep playing together continuously.

When [the High Precision] option is switched on [off by default], it makes the analog sticks more responsive to small movements. Turned off, the controls behave exactly as they did before the patch. It’s not a radical overhaul of the control system, so the layout and the ‘weight’ of the controls remain the same.

And most importantly:
For starters, Patch 1.27 allows players to switch factions manually if the factions are unbalanced. If the factions consist of, say, 13 players versus 11 players, a player from the largest faction can manually switch over to make it an even 12 versus 12. Switching in the other direction is not allowed, so players from the smaller team can’t defect to the larger team if the battle doesn’t go their way. Players who switch over retain all their points, but squad affiliations will of course be lost.
Furthermore, we’ve removed the temporary invulnerability awarded to players who spawn at a spawn point other than the base camp. The players will still be safe at their own base camp, but custom-placed or mission-based spawn points do not yield temporary invulnerability anymore. This will hopefully give opposing players already at this location a fair chance.
Finally, we’ve made a couple of changes to the Badge abilities. The Assault Badge, for instance, was deemed too powerful by many players – so we tweaked down its Armor ability from 100 hit points to 50 hit points. The Tactician Badge’s secondary ability (to request air support from a Sentry Bot) has also been tweaked to make the Sentry Bot more useful. It can aim more accurately now, and its health is a little higher as well. To make it even more useful, we’ve reduced the way automated turrets target them, so they’re not shot down as fast. It should certainly make the Air Support Specialist ribbon easier to obtain!
May not make CAG night tomorrow, but it's a heads up for those who are to start up earlier than intended to patch the game before playing.

instead of just changing options, they need to make everything a controllable server option. that would please everyone because youd be able to host your server the way you want. especially the spawn invuln. some people are gonna hate the new dynamic..it should definitely be a checkbox server option.

Not a bad idea, but first they need to fix the search options. You already can't tell what kind of game you're joining, and if more stuff was customizable it would be even worse. I really hope they improved the search, but it's not mentioned on the blog.

Patch is looking good otherwise.
 
I, for one, am overjoyed at the spawn invulnerability being removed.
When I was going for honor I was thinking "I can see spawn invulnerability when you spawn at home base, but having it when you spawn everywhere else is a bit overpowering." I can see spawn grenades needing to be better placed and maybe defended.

As for things being "checkbox server options", yeah, I think ALL options should be just that, optional, but like mad alien said, you need improved search for that to work. It sucked enough trying to find a server you like when all you have to go on is the server name and game type.
 
I like the tweaks with that patch. I hope that no invulnerability for spawn grenades makes people think twice about where they throw those things. Spawns at Search and Destroy targets can be a pain in the ass. The Sentry bot tweaks are also great as I can hopefully and finally get those damn ribbons.
 
Those are some pretty good updates. I won't be able to make it tomorrow night but will be on tonight at night. More of you guys needs to come join Saltons nightly games.
