CAG League Sports: Madden 12 "JV League" - We Finished 3 Seasons! Thanks Everybody!!!

I always figured you would count the players that you were trading away. I do not care about honoring any real life deals.

Also, why would you just not use the trade system built into the game? Is there something wrong with it that you would drop players to FA then pick them up? Doesn't make sense to me.

well when u try and do a normal trade through the system u still cant trade ur picks i would still have draft the player he wants then drop the guy to FA because i cant trade a pick there for when i draft for him i would have to drop the rookie pick to FA for him to pick up so its easier to just use FA or atleast in my eyes

Well, the limits were put into place to keep people from mangling their roster, getting upset that their trades didn't work as well as they wanted, then dropping from the league, leaving a crappy shell of a team which nobody would want to play as. Plus, I think having the limits forces people to be a little creative with their transactions.

Dropping the players to FA and the other person picking them up is how it works though. There's no issue with that part.
Yeah, that's kinda where my thinking was with it. It would allow you to acquire a few core players from different teams, but not completely dismantle your own. The only thing that would worry me with that is team's that have tons of draft picks praying on the rebuilding teams (ala Patriots in the official league). But I guess if we're not honoring picks involved in real life trades like they were, it probably wouldn't be as much of a problem.

So, is that what we want to go with then? You count the players you trade, that way you can't trade AWAY more than 3 core players?
Yeah, I think that makes the most sense if we're trying to limit the turnover a team has.

I had no problem with the limits, I understand there purpose, I was stating it should be based on who you trade away and not who you get.

And I didn't know that's how the trades worked.

All right, well, if everyone's cool with that, these are the deals I've got worked out. I'll have to look up the potentials for these other guys after I feed this hungry baby, haha.

Ok, sorry. I must have misunderstood your question. Haven't slept much lately, haha.

Ok I have Bryant now! Last I checked (about 30 mins ago) Foster was in th FA list. I messaged DV so he could snatch him up. Also are we doing the Slaton deal? What team is he going to? I need to add it to my list of draft picks for next year!

The TEXANs now have 2 First round and 2 Second Round picks!

The Slaton deal was approved on the last page.

How did you get two #1's and two #2's?

Cardinals -38 Giants -0

Cardinals defense came to play with only 69 total offense yards allowed. They had 9 sacks, 2 INTS, 2 FF, and 2 FR one for a touchdown. Kevin Kolb was 8 of 14 for 204 yds with 2 TDs and 1 INT. Beanie Wells ran for 102 yds and 2 TDs on 14 touches. Cardinals advance to 4-0.
TRADE ALERT

The Bengals trade WR Jordan Shipley (Age 25, 74 overall, A Potential) to Dallas for RB Felix Jones (Age 25, 81 overall, B potential).
Seems fair to me, both will go up next season and be fairly close to the same rating.

it all looks good but that 3rd round pick i think should be moved up to atleast a 2nd rounder maybe even a first round pick

i understand that mark ingram is going to go up alot with progression next year and i could see bart scott losing some but i dont see Bart Scott dropping any further than an 88 and thats if he even does drop he could very possibly stay right at 90 and i dont see ingram going any higher than a 86 with progession
I've got mine plus the Cowboys in the first round and yours plus mine in the 2nd.

What team are you?
Bengals. I sent you a PM in fact.

It depends on what Bart Scott's potential is. If it's a B, I could see him dropping further than an 88. I would say definitely not a first-rounder should be added.

hes that old and still a 90 his pot is for sure an A no doubt in my mind pot B players dont make it to the 90's

For shits and giggles, I went the other Madden League's XFN site and looked at Bart Scott. He's an A potential and he dropped to an 87 in Year 2. Ingram went up to an 88.

well with thoughs types of facts i guess the trade is fair then

In a defensive struggle the Browns win 23-17. The Titans drive down to the 30 and ended up coming up short on a 4&7.

Also, I would like to trade for a solid DE. Hit me up with offers. I am the Titans.

any other opionions on this trade???????

I am fine with the recently proposed trades. For the Saints-Jets trade, I think a 2nd rounder would be the highest it should be upgraded to, if it is decided it needs to be.

this trade plus the newly made trade below is up for approval

denver sends eric decker WR 72 overall age 25 pot B

for cowboys 3rd round pick

the only thing about this trade is it cant be transfered till after FA opens up becuase denvers owner wants to wait till then but wanted to still put the trade up for approval

lets here what the leagues got to say about these two trades

I had Eric Decker in the other league, and was going to make an offer for him soon lol. In my opinion, Decker might be worth a little more than a third. While his overall is low, his catch ratings are pretty high (86 catch, 87 catch in traffic,).

That said, I'm not sure how much more he's worth, so a third is probably reasonable.

his release is also i beleive a 52 although his catch is very nice his ability to get open is rough

Yeah, actually, the original request was for a 2nd rounder. I countered with a 3rd taking into account the 10 year age difference between Scott and Ingram, and the fact that their difference in overall would most likely be made up very quickly.

I think it looks pretty good. Looks like both teams are filling positional needs.

Jaguars - 24
Saints - 10

Ugh..after being shunned and ridiculed for weeks, the Jacksonville Jaguars took out their pent up rage on the New Orleans Saints in a beautiful monsoon game. The Jags jumped out to a 10-0 lead before the Saints were able to mount any kind of attack, tying the game at 10-10 on a pick 6.

That would be it for New Orleans though, as their offense could never get going, and their defense COULD NOT stop Maurice Jones-Drew. You think he's difficult to tackle under regular conditions, try getting him down when he's all lubed up (that's what she said). I had a couple chances with deep balls that I thought should have been completions, but Drew Brees accuracy was shot in the shitty weather. gg to pitfallharry, but that's why I picked a fucking dome team, lol.

I'm comfortable approving this one right now. I'd like a few more comments on the others if possible. We're in no huge hurry. I anticipate the trades to be approved shortly after we advance to Week 5. As of right now, there are 3 remaining games.

Panthers vs Bears (pretty sure we need a sub for the Bears here. Bears are 0-3. Do we have a volunteer with a similar record?)
Steelers vs Texans (???)
49ers vs Eagles (???)

Let's try to get these done asap, guys. I don't want to be worrying about things like trade approvals and free agent pick ups when there are still games needing to be played. First thing's first.

Anyone know of a cause/solution to 'The connection to your opponent has been lost?" Might just be my internet acting up, but I played the last week without issue. Wondering if there's anything I can do to make the connection more reliable.
Might need a sub for my game..Can't connect..I have no control over my NAT..Anyone who is up willing to play for me?
I can do it, but I too am stuck with a moderate NAT. Haven't had any connection issues before, though.
I can do it, but I too am stuck with a moderate NAT. Haven't had any connection issues before, though.
Thanks Man..I'm here at school and our NAT is strict...I have no control over it and have already sent requests to IT to reduce the situation

Sorry G33

Could be my connection as well; mine isn't exactly what I would call reliable. It isn't currently showing any other signs that it's causing trouble at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if my connection is the problem despite that. I can try to drop and see if you two can match up; if so, I need to play around with the settings on my router (misplaced my password, so I have to go and reset it).

You two try first..I just backed out of the league

I had a tough time connecting with Blade 2 weeks ago so it seems to be an issue with my connection

I'm getting commish approval just to be sure

EDIT: He signed off, lol. I'm gonna go ahead and join as Philly.

could you sub for the bears?

lol...sorry, man. Baby starts crying = Xbox turned off, haha. But yeah, of course that's fine. Nice to see everybody willing to pitch in. Maybe we'll advance tonight after all! :)

I hope that this connections issues dont continue to happen or I may have to drop out of the league.

Not that I want to but it would probably be in the best interest of the rest of the league.

The three games that I have played have had some game lag so I dont want to affect the games being played because of an problematic connection, including one were it was almost impossible to connect with Blade.

Hope You All Can Understand my Situations

Eagles - 38
49ers - 21

Fun game. After Alex Smith made an errant throw about twenty yards in front of my receiver right into two Philly DBs for a pick and an eventual TD, I went on major tilt and pretty much threw away the game in the second quarter, going down 7 - 31 after turning the ball over four times in three minutes. After throwing one more pick for good luck in the third, I finally got myself to calm down, and in an attempt to salvage my dignity, kept it on the ground and racked up garbage time yards and points as the Eagles played it safe to ensure their win.
