Seriously man - awesome awesome job.

So I made the decision to stop lifting again. It was creeping up on me over the last few months and I think it has something to do with my 8lb. weight gain (that and the fact I can't seem to lay off the snacks in the house). Also, every freaking weekend seems like a "special event" or some bullshit where gross food is everywhere. I need to dial it down.

Anyway, I did Insanity this morning and followed that up with a 30 minute run. Feels great. Hopefully I'll slim back down by the end of September or so. When I initially lost some weight back in 2011 I was running every morning and then doing the elliptical (no weights and no Insanity).

I can't do the no weights, I just feel like a putz when I do that. I'll do less weights if needed but that doesn't happen often lol. My biggest fear is becoming a shrimp. I know my chest will shrink if I stop lifting and at this point I just don't want that to happen lol. I used to have a 44.5 inch chest when I lifting just to be big mass wise, and already am down to 42 inches and don't plan on losing anymore LOL.But slim down for sure. I love being slim and smaller. Rocking 175 consistently has been great, I feel healthy and like I shaved 10 years off body (even though I'm way younger than you).

I'd keep lifting, just limit the snacks. Will power, man!

fuckin' a, man.

I'm still 187-190, fluctuating. Not watching what I eat, but more when I eat.

That said, I left the house today to run some errands wearing a pair of size 32 shorts, and quickly realized they were gonna fall down if I didn't hitch them up every 15 seconds or so. Embarrassing, but more than weight, that's the kind of gain I find motivating and significant. Half a year ago I was puttin' some stress on size 36 pants, now I'm getting too small for 32s. That and moving down from XL to a comfy M in t-shirts - that's not the kind of gain you see on the scale, but elsewhere. Also, free stuff from cute girls working in stores. That you can't measure on a scale. ;)

Sucks for my wardrobe, though.

Very nice, Myke!

I said it before, if im not losing pounds but still losing inches, I'll take that any day of the week!

And Diddy, that is very impressive. 13 more lbs is very obtainable for October. Keep up the good work!

Speaking from experience, this is easier said than done...especially with young kids in the house. But I try, trust me!

I hear you on that, just without the kids. I also have stopped shopping when I am hungry. Doesn't help my waistline or my wallet.

Congrats Mang. You do some intense, consistent workouts so it's well deserved. I still wish I'd lose more. I swear my body is an anamoly.

I guess I should clarify. I expected more out of my cut. My lifts have maintained (and actually gone up 5%) but I've lost maybe 4 pounds in close to 3 months. It's straight up depressing when you eat clean and work your ass off at the gym for results like that.

My fiancé says I've had really good body recomposition but it's hard to see on yourself.

Those kids will be the death of me. There are always snacks in the house. My will power is pretty good but every now and then I hit a rough stretch and have a hard time staying focused. Ever since my daughter was born in May I've been just trying to hold it together.

Once the semester starts I'm kinda fucked, so I gotta get it in where I can.

You don't have much room to lose weight, though.

Oh, for fuckin' real. I don't see much of a change in myself, and I still have that fat kid mentality psychologically. Each time I notice someone checking me out, though, that helps chip away at that for sure.

Amen brother! You just summed up my life. At least I'm maintaining.

Day #3 of cardio only went pretty well. I'm already up to 8.5 on the treadmill and it was easy as hell to maintain - I thought I would have lost my endurance/speed since I quit running on the treadmill at least 6 months ago. I guess Insanity has been keeping me in fighting shape.

The reason I stopped lifting is because I am naturally jacked (note that jacked =/= ripped). I have really broad shoulders and a big chest without lifting any weights. I want to slim down to practically nothing and then work my way up from there. I'm thinking this would be a good look for me:

Actually, I want to know this was achieved:

He is almost a year older than I am so maybe it isn't too late?

Yeah, but that was also 13 years ago. A very strict diet, supplements, steroids, and a few hours in the gym everyday for 6 or so months. Don't forget: getting into that kind of shape is literally a full time job for them.

I know. I always say that if my full-time job was to look like that and I had unlimited resources to do so (food, nutritionist, trainer, etc.) then of course I could do it. Notwithstanding all of that, he's been in pretty good shape for the Batman movies at age 38.

The way I go about it is for every snack I don't spend money in, I get to put it towards game. You won't believe how many games you can get on the long run

Yeah, I know...but to be honest, I really just wanted to post another Patrick Bateman pic.

Good job Mykevermin. I don't think I've been in this thread for over a month :/

I took about a month off the gym and have maintained 160lbs, but I want to drop 5lbs by 5 Nov and rebuild the strength I've lost. It's a vicious cycle. Diet wise I've been pretty good, I've stopped using the Lose It app, but I've been moderating my intake and making healthier choices. How's everyone else been doing.

This would be a good system if I was allowed to spend any money on anything ever.

It's ridiculous how many games I still buy, and yet, I barely ever play games these days.

I've turned the PS3 and 360 on *maybe* five times this month...and all were to watch Netflix with the girlfriend.
Yet, I picked up five or so games recently from the Best Buy clearance, have a couple games on preorder and bought that cheap Band Hero bundle from Newegg.

Work, eat, sleep, workout, girlfriend...pretty much what my life is these days.

I can sympathize with everything said on the last page. Let me summarize: Getting old/married/kids is for the birds!

That said, I would not change it for anything.

The only assistance I think I would need is someone to cook the food for me. I know my way around the kitchen pretty well from working in restaurants in the past, but it just seems like I can only ever motivate myself to either a) train hard or b) prepare the proper food but never both at the same time. I always end up focusing on training and eating lots of sandwiches.

Just yesterday I was watching an NFL pre-season game and thinking about how lucky those guys that can afford a private chef are. They get a variety of fresh food that's suited for their training regiment and they don't have to make it. Lucky bastards.

It's because all of that stuff takes time - a lot of it. Food shopping and preparation are a pain plus fitting in a 60-90 minute workout. It's very time consuming to do all of that. Sometimes I wish I just didn't care about my health or the way I looked like 90% of people. I could be eating something disgusting right now!
Have to get my ring re-sized, it keeps slipping off.
hahahaha. duuuude, you don't even fuckin' know. mine straight up disappeared after I got out of the shower this morning. I went into full on panic mode because I was convinced it slipped into the drain.

Found it 30 minutes later in the laundry hamper, but not before I started considering cutting into my ceiling in order to get access to the drain trap.

Totally getting it resized.

I threw my ring away by accident. Put some lotion on, ten minutes later washed my hands at work and realized my ring disappeared. I had to dig through a garbage to find it (thankfully I found a janitor with some gloves before the digging began).

I would have freaked out if I lost it in the shower. My wife got me in the habit of taking my ring off before I get in, so thank god I haven't had to deal with that yet.

Losing weight sucks sometimes.

Gained about 3 pounds back this week. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Trying to eat less/healthier and have been running/exercising more.

I have noticed I've been able to run a bit longer which is good, but still very frustrating.

More than the looks think about it health wise :bouncy: , and the bills you would have to pay from insurance/doctors on the long run . I was never over weight or anything, but once I got into college I started working out like never before (Workout 6x week). I think I'm in pretty good shape, and thankfully I love veggies and healthy food so its not hard to find healthy stuff to eat around my place at all times.

Just keep going and don't give up. That ring falling from your finger is already a good sign :applause: . And yeah my backlog keeps on growing from all the saved money + CAG. Now I find it hard to bite on a game that is not 20 or less :whistle2:#

Any weightlifting?

Any weightlifting?
Unfortunately no, don't own any weights or anything of that nature. When I still lived at my parents, they had a nice weight machine I used quite a bit. Unfortunately, there's no room in my own house to take and set it up.

LOL@ the ring discussion...I'm on my 3rd Wedding band. My original one doesn't fit anymore since the first time I dropped 80 lbs, so that's in my wife jewelry box. My second one is somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of New Jersey. That one slipped off playing with my kids when I dropped 70 lbs. This one I'm keeping...I got it sized before I dropped the last 65 lbs.

Reading that I feel like a human yo-yo. I don't think I can do it again, so this time I'm sticking to it.

While I love football and it sounds like it would be fun, I don't have time between now and the start of the season for a draft, unfortunately. Have fun!

Damn - 170 is the dream but I'm still a long ways off (~15lbs give or take). I think my no weights tons of cardio is working though. Weigh-in is Friday so we will see...

Ran 11 miles today in 1 hour 44 minutes. Maintained 8:30 pace for the first 6 miles but then started getting into some steep hills and it killed my speed. Definitely put my 3 liter camelback to use today, but it made my traps pretty sore for a for a while.

I don't get how distance/marathon runners do it. I can only run at a sub 7 minute mile pace for 3 or 4 miles and then I'm done. I had to dial it way back for the 11 miles today. I think I'd pass out if I tried to run a marathon.

You worry too much about your weight. Ignore the scale and focus on body composition.

Cardio is great, but you're doing yourself a disservice by skipping the weights.

He's right, you know. I can't get below 186, but I'm developing pretty impressive abdominal definition myself. Numbers vs appearances, my friend.

LOL - I know. I also can't stay away from the weights even though I want to. I lifted a bit this morning and I'll probably work in some super-light/high-rep weightlifting most mornings. Gotta keep the tone!
