CAG Madden 11 League 2 - Season 2! Week 10 Deadline Sat night. TEAMS OPEN!

I found this on RealGMFootball and I figured you all might find it interesting:

The Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears have agreed in principle to a blockbuster trade that is now up for approval in the CAG Madden 2011 League 2 (aka Electric Boogaloo).

In the proposed deal, orchestrated by Indianapolis general manager 'PacerPerspect' and Chicago colleague 'bvharris,' the Colts will send multi-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Reggie Wayne to the Bears in exchange for young receiver Earl Bennett and two 2011 draft picks.

Indianapolis will receive Chicago's first- and fourth-round pick in this coming offseason's draft.

With the trade deadline looming, the Colts are opening to numerous deals because of their 0-6 record.

When reached for comment on Wednesday afternoon, Wayne had the following to say in the wake of the trade:

"I'll always consider Indianapolis my second home and I'll miss Peyton Manning's pinpoint passing, but I'll give the chance to play for a winning team in Chicago with a quarterback in Jay Cutler that at least thinks he's the best in the game."

If approved, the Bears will have totally gutted their 2011 draft in acquiring their new receiving threats. Their 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th picks are gone in the Wayne and Heap deals.

Let's hear some opinions, obviously I'm inclined to approve the deal. ;)

Considering that the price for Fitz in the other league was just a 1st rounder (which ended up being #29 overall), I'd say Pacer did pretty well.

Schilliens came back with that first rounder for Fitz fyi.

As for the deal, I have no issue with it based off football IRL, but I don't really know how good Bennett is in the game, or his rating.

Sorry, that's the downside of the news-style announcement. :D

Bears get:
Wayne - WR - 97 - 33 years old according to the site, but I believe he's only 32

Colts get:
Bennett - WR - 74 - 24 years old. B potential
1st round pick
4th round pick

I'd forgotten Schilliens was in that deal, you're right. With progression I'd say Schilliens was right around where Bennett is now at the time of that trade, maybe a bit better, which is balanced out by the 4th rounder. I'd say they're roughly comparable deals overall.

Sorry, I thought I'd responded. Venom is the owner, but he's gone until the 3rd.

I believe Deuce said he wanted to keep subbing, which I'm fine with.

ok cool

I'll be out to dinner for the next couple hours but if there are no further issues with the deal I'll put it through tonight before my game with the Skins (the Colts are on a bye).

Bears making a run on the SB this year? That similar Fitz deal ended up making the rest of last season absolutely miserable. Now that I have Romo I'm missing him in a big way. :(

redworm and I played a game that was much more competitive than the final score.
Key plays were two ridiculous Adrian Peterson fumbles returned for TD's to seal the deal against the Vikings, as the Packers gained a significant win over the Vikes.

And when I say ridiculous I mean no respect to the redworm who played a great game.
Oh, and lag acted up during my 2 missed field goals which drove me nuts, but otherwise lag wasn't an issue.

Packers 52, Vikings 35

Jags/Chiefs in the books, 23-8 Jags.

It was a defensive game throughout the first 3 quarters. Chiefs were 0 for 6 on 3rd downs, at least 4 of them being 4th and 1 mostly in their own territory. Jacksonville was finally able to get some separation in the 4th quarter after playing the 2nd half only up 9-0. McCoy caught both TDs. The 2nd one sealed the deal on a screen pass as KC looked to be run blitzing on 3rd down. GG Rames.

I knew going into the game peterson would hurt me but I knew he also had hands covered in crisco so I hoped it would turn out in my favor.

Ryan Grant really showed up to play, he might have even had his superman pants on.

that video felt like what bigat did to me with jacobs

All these trades and no one wants to sell me a quarterback? I am also willing to trade off receivers and pretty much anyone on the offensive side of the jets.

So the Bears get to play for sole possession of first place? Woot.

Since there don't seem to be any major objections to the trade (or any at all) I'm gonna put it through now.

I'll be on in about 20 to play my game.

i would have taken my game out and gave it to my dog as a toy after that

At least it didn't cost him the game. I had one of those against the Giants which was a backbreaker since it resulted in a late TD on a 3rd and long. The amazing thing was it was Bradford, not Jacobs.

Darth and I played a really good game, although I came up short again. New England (Darth) controlled the ball for most of the first half, but we managed to go into the half tied. He and I each had some bad luck with dropped passes on what should have been first down conversions, and a penalty or two did go my way, but nothing game changing. It was pretty even most of the way, but I'd say he outplayed me slightly overall. I kicked a field goal rather than going for it from the 4th and goal on the 9 yard line with 2:30 or so left, putting me down 24-20. I regret that, because while I was able to barely stop him and drive down the field, I threw that end zone INT from a few yards out and lost again. I had chosen a run play, but he completely psyched me out. I still probably could have run it in with Rivers, but I somewhat panicked.

New England Patriots 24, San Diego Chargers 20

I just have to point this out again: My luck with injuries (mainly in ubernes's league) and losing close games (both leagues) has been very reminiscent of the real life Green Bay Packers, just without the part about me being one of the most talented of our group, 'cause I'm not. I've played 4 games in this league, and I've lost by 8 points or less each time. Three of those 4 games ended with my game winning or tying drives stalling a few yards short, or in the case of this game and one other, I was intercepted in the end zone. Darth and I both seem to agree that the other is better than our records have indicated over these seasons.

Definitely a gg, I got super lucky trying to change that last play up.
It was pretty hilarious, my wife walked in the room right as Welker dropped that 3rd down pass and she simply, uh ohed and walked back out.

Patriots still clinging on to 1st place in the division.
FYI, Colts are holding a sale, but Peyton isn't available. Neither is Garcon, unless I'm getting a decent WR in return.
If I'd known it was a firesale I would have brought a longer shopping list. :D
don't get comfortable
You've seen my division in the other league. I'm NEVER comfortable.

You've unfathomably dominated the competition for Posting in the Wrong Thread 2K10.

Edit: Leave your mistake!

Late writeup, but yesterday the Broncos defeated the Raiders in their first divisional game of the season, 28-24.

The Broncos were quite shaken early on in the game, when their star linebacker Elvis Dumervil was taken out of the game on a stretcher. [Ed. note: Just in time for the hardest part of my schedule FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU) The loss of their defense's captain greatly affected the team and it showed, with the Raiders taking a 21-14 lead into halftime. After a rousing halftime speech from their coach, Denver came fired up for the second half and managed to hold Oakland to just 3 points the rest of the game.

The game was well played throughout, with both teams combining for just a single turnover.

Stud running back Laurence Maroney (OVR: 75) had a great game, picking up tough yardage whenever it was needed and scoring 3 touchdowns. The win pushes Denver to 7-0 on the season.

GG Deuce.

Bears 34, Redskins 13

The Bears move to 5-2 and take over sole possession of first place in the NFC North with a convincing win over the Redskins, played in the pouring rain at Soldier Field.

Jay Cutler finally reversed the growing trend of turnovers he's been responsible for, going 17 of 22 for 273 yards and two scores. Greg Olsen was the leading receiver with 86 yards and a score, fellow TE Todd Heap added the other receiving touchdown. New Bears receiver Reggie Wayne had a solid debut, catching 3 passes for 78 yards and looks to get more involved going forward. It was rough sledding for Forte in the conditions, rushing 15 times for only 38 yards, though he did have a TD.

Once again it was the Bears D who stole the show. Though they didn't get a sack they were in McNabb's face all day and though they didn't have a pick they managed to drop about 10 (yay passes deflections!) They were strip happy as usual though, forcing three fumbles and recovering two of them. The run d was excellent, holding Portis to 16 yards on 6 carries, the only lapse being a 13 yard TD scramble by McNabb on which he broke several tackles, that score accounted for the only Redskins TD of the day.

gg itlnstln! I really don't know what happened, but at some point between last season and this season (in both leagues) I magically acquired the ability to play defense. Maybe it just comes from practice as well as from familiarity with the guys in the league, but what was once a major liability for me is becoming, if not a strength, certainly something that's not going to kill me from week to week.

very good game. my receivers weren't getting open in the second half and when they did, your line was getting to Palmer just before he threw the ball... looking forward to the next meeting

An update on 49ers/Panthers: Something just came up for me; I PMed him asking to postpone our game to any time after 7 p.m. EST tonight or tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you know what we come up with as soon as he PMs me back.

Rainy games are so retarded...in the rare occasion when Alex Smith wasn't throwing the worst passes I've ever seen in my life, my receivers were dropping them. I actually managed to contain mog's running game (except for a 70 something yard TD by Williams), but wow when I managed to get an open receiver, it didn't even matter. I lost my 2nd and 3rd string WR (Ginn and Morgan) early on and had to replace them with Westbrook and Briscoe....both extremely overrated in my opinion. Also lost Haralson my starting LE. Broken collarbones for Ginn and Haralson...out 6 and 11 weeks.

But mog's passing game was a lot better than I expected...although it's kind of dumb when Clausen scrambles and my team's coverage just completely breaks down for some reason. And the one time I was actually in position with Willis to intercept a ball thrown to his TE, Clausen WAY overthrows him lol.

In contrast with the Superbowl where I just completely got destroyed in a fair game...I thought this rainy game was complete b.s. I've never seen so many missed throws/dropped passes. Although mog's receivers didn't drop any passes that I remember...his DBs definitely dropped a ton, but a lot of that was due to Smith's retarded accuracy. I wish the whole world was rainbows and sunshine so we didn't have to deal with rainy football games!!

Just to check we are following the same policy for draft pick as we are in the other league for players traded? I wouldn't have taken another team anyway, but I got some picks coming my way (2 1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and I might be trying to cash a couple of those in early. :)

I don't think so, given that our rosters were further along in the season, but I'm willing to hear opinions on it I guess.
It's not about honoring trades, really. It's about teams not giving away their good players with nothing in return. Why would the Pats get rid of Richard Seymour if they weren't getting something back? This ensures that they do. Same goes for Holmes, McNabb, all trades our teams in this league have benefited from. If we don't enforce these pick trades then those teams are getting star players for free.
If I can get Moss, Seymour, and whoever Carolina picked in the 2nd round of this year that'd be grrreat. I'm sure Bigat would take Brandon Marshall and Matt, Cromartie. That could be a easier solution :D. bling bling!

I'm not the one you need to convince considering it was MY idea in the other league. :D

I'm not ruling it out, someone needs to put together a list for me though and we need to look at what picks have already been traded in-league.
