CAG Madden 11 League 2 - Season 2! Week 10 Deadline Sat night. TEAMS OPEN!
Bv I still ain't heard from venom so its really up to u on wat to do... I hope my team loses anyways to get a high draft pick so sim would b okay by me I really don't feel like playing the cpu.... is the deadline def tonight?
Up to you. If you want to play the CPU, you have my blessing to do so. I'm fine simming it as well.

The two games we're really waiting on are:

Panthers-Cardinals
Chiefs-Rams

All four of these teams are owned, so there shouldn't be any issues. Please update me on the status of those games.

The following teams have permission to either play the CPU or grab a sub today (I don't care which): Dolphins (vs. Bills), Titans (vs. Texans), Seahawks (vs. Falcons), Steelers (vs. Jets)

We're advancing at 10PM EST tonight. All games not played by then will be simmed, no exceptions.

Venom never responded on Facebook. He's been on there, but I'm not sure what his situation is with XBL and all that. Side note: uber, you showed up as one of the friends listed on the left side of Venom's page, and I just wanted to compliment you on your killer mutton chops. :p

Wisco is under a snow warning. Whoever I play wanna go tonight? Its a state of emergency so work is cancelled tomorrow and I will be home alllll night.

Snow in Wisconsin? You don't say! :p

I hope it doesn't get too bad, Steggy. When I moved from Illinois in December 2006, there was a horrible ice storm and I went my last 3 days there without power. Condensation on the walls and being able to see your breath inside is not my idea of a good time. Stay warm!

Yea... they declared a state of emergency from the governor before I left work today. Shut down all state buildings to the public, and left it to the discretion of the employees whether or not they want to come in... I just started at the begining of the month, but I wont risk the drive. Its already ridiculous out!

Looks to me like none of those games have been played. I'm fine simming all of them, believe me. If there's a game underway at 10PM I'm fine waiting until it ends, otherwise I'm advancing in 40 minutes.
Where the heck is Uber - we were scheduled for 10pmEST...
Yeah sorry my xbox or my hd died. I should have it worked out tomorrow. I put my friends hd in and I got the same error so I have no idea what's wrong. E68 is a hd error but maybe it's the connection from the hd to xbox. I dunno!

I think you are down the road from me, just wind and drifts on my way home from work, bring on the snow I'm off tomorrow

gumbill/lexxon when do you wanna play Packers - Giants

I'm off all day tomorrow and besides shoveling in the morning and some in the afternoon I'm free all day.

Since I've sewn up the 3 seed pretty much and I'll be busy packing up to move the rest of the week I went ahead and played the CPU Jets since they're unowned. If anyone checks the box score and wonders whether I threw a touchdown pass with 3 seconds left to put myself up 53-10 in order to let off some frustration at having to move out of my ruined apartment and humiliate the computer controlled Jets... I did. And it worked. :D

Not to be an instigator... but how many games have you seriously played against the CPU to pad your stats?
Not to be an instigator... but how many games have you seriously played against the CPU to pad your stats?
None? This is the first CPU game I've played all season which didn't follow a disconnect where I was winning the game by a large margin. Obviously I don't have access to the original scores of those few games I've played the CPU, but for example my first game against the Vikings I was up like 49-7 when Azu and I disconnected. The only CPU game I've played which wasn't that sort of situation was against the Packers, redworm and I couldn't connect so I played the CPU and he has the option to do so against me at a time of his choosing.

If you haven't noticed I've been having more and more people play the CPU in games that don't matter the last few weeks in an effort to move things along towards the playoffs, I'm no exception. The bottom line is, I don't care about stats, but if you doubt I'm able to put them up without needing CPU games, feel free to recall the unholy asskicking I put on you a couple weeks ago with a team I'd never used before the next time you consider being an unbridled asshat for no reason. You know, not to be an instigator.

Week 16 Playoff Picture:

There are 18 total teams still alive for playoff spots, not bad at all!

AFC
1. Bengals (12-2) - z
2. Texans (12-2) - x
3. Broncos (10-4) - x
4. Patriots (9-5) - z
5. Jaguars (10-4)
6. Steelers (8-6)

In the hunt: Raiders (8-6), Ravens (7-7), Titans (7-7), Chiefs (7-7)

Notes: The Bengals have pretty much wrapped up a bye and look like the team to beat in the AFC (especially considering their only 2 losses were sims). I believe the Jags can still catch the Texans, but it would come down to the common game tie-breaker and I'm too lazy to figure that out. Those 7-7 teams could still climb back into it, but the Steelers control their own destiny since they own a head-to-head win over the Raiders. The Steelers have a huge game with the Panthers this week which will have a big impact in both conferences. The Broncos still have a shot at the 2, especially with a big game against the Texans this week. The only team whose position is pretty much set is the Pats.

NFC
1. Panthers (11-3) - z
2. 49ers (11-3) - z
3. Bears (11-3) - z
4. Giants (9-5)
5. Cowboys (9-5)
6. Bucs (9-5)

In the hunt: Vikings (9-5), Packers (8-6)

Notes: The top 3 teams are set, it's just a question of which two are getting the byes. Right now its the Bears on the outside looking in, so they'll need one of those other teams to stumble in the next two weeks in order to grab a bye. The Giants and Cowboys are still neck-and-neck for the division, with the other team still having a good shot at the playoffs. The Packers and Giants meet this week in what could very well be an elimination game for both teams, and certainly is for the Packers (sounds familiar). The Cowboys currently hold the edge on the Bucs thanks to strength of victory. All teams but these 8 have been eliminated from playoff contention.

 • z - Clinched Division
 • y - Clinched Wild Card
 • x - Clinched Playoff Berth
 • * - Clinched Division and Home Field

Not sure. I don't know what stats go into it, though that certainly seems like a pretty deserving performance.
What's the deal with Zurezo? Not sure what his situation is.
I'm surprised he hasn't been booted from the leagues since he hasn't really been communicating why he's been mia.
I'm surprised that Packers Giants isn't game of the week, it's a playoff game before the playoffs.
I think it just grabs the top two records playing. It should definitely be Packers-Giants and then Steelers-Panthers.

He has been in essence, but I'm not going to fill a team this late in the season which is likely to have a 1st round bye. If he'd disappeared earlier I would have just CPU'd off his games, but since he's guaranteed a playoff spot I'm not sure what to do with the Texans. I'm open to suggestions.

If I'm not mistaken, Listerfiend78 (CAG name: jlarlee) switched from the Seahawks to the Rams right? The OP states that the Rams are unowned at the moment.

Yeah, he did, I just haven't had time to update the OP, I'll do so later.

BV you wanna sub for the Texans? I could sub for them sometime this evening...probably after 5 p.m. EST. But like I said...I prefer only to sub as a last resort cause I don't like messing with other peoples' teams/stats. You already subbed for them before so I figure you wouldn't mind doing it again.

Lol alright, I can't wait to see how Arian Foster lines up as a WR...I bet he's in the 70's somewhere!! Biggie, what time works for you? Wednesday is supposed to be my free day but I'm going to the library for some group studying...I'm guessing it won't be longer than 4 hours or so (since our QUIZ, not test, is like 2 weeks away...don't know why we're studying this f'in early), so I'm guessing I should be home/ready around 5 p.m. EST if that works for you.

Yeah, 5 EST should work for me. Feel free to put Foster as a WR, as long as he takes over for Andre Johnson on the depth chart.
I have greg jennings and Lavernaeus Coles both injured so I can pick up a WR for depth right?
Sure, as long as they're lower than your lowest rated WR.

Yeah don't worry that was the plan all along...Andre Johnson is gonna be put in as TE. That is gonna make for some SICK spread offense formations!! And I might have to postpone it to 5:30 or 6 if that's okay...they wanna study til 5:30 but there's a good chance we'll end a little early so we could probably play between 5:30 and 6:00.
Chargers owner when would you like to play ?
First Master Awesome and now a 2nd game with Cru. What was that I said about this being a tough Madden week for me?

Deuce and I (colts/raiders) nearly made it to halftime with him leading 21-7. We are now having issues connecting again. If he builds another big lead and we disconnect, I'll let me play CPU. It's probably the ice storm in my area.

FWIW, my home phone service is down.

gumbill is having some internet issues today so we are trying to see if it gets better before trying to play our game cause neither of us wants a sim/cpu for this game

Raiders 26
Colts 7

Raiders are gunning for that last playoff spot... the secondary and defensive line has decided that they are gonna will us into the postseason. The linebackers have been hit or miss and without Palmer or Benson, the offense has had to get creative to get in the end zone. Luckily, the D gives them good field position.

GG Pacer

GG MA, Andre Johnson is a beast. That fumble inside the red zone at the end absolutely sucked and completely changed the outcome of the game.

Edit: Looking back at your second TD that tight WR formation broke my defense. Champ Bailey got assigned to a different receiver than he should have been on due to the positioning and just let AJ run past him.

Yeah I even went back and watched the replay cause I had no idea how the heck Andre Johnson got so wide open on that play lol. Brian Dawkins was just standing there COMPLETELY oblivious to what was happening around him...he was just looking around not defending anyone or blitzing or anything. Sorry if that was one of those questionable formations or whatever, I honestly don't know what formations I'm running 99% of the time...I just go to random formations and pick random plays, especially for a team whose playbook I've never used before. I just make sure I'm not running that one 4 WR bunch thing at the line, I don't know the other shady ones.

And yeah sorry about the fumble, I hate fumbles as much as anyone and it doesn't make me feel good at all when a game is decided by a fumble. I didn't try to strip it or anything, just a lucky break. And sorry about that one play where Brian Cushing zoomed by everyone right after the snap and tackled Moreno half a second after the ball was handed to him...that was 100% the CPU there. It might have looked like I was nano'ing or something, but I picked a play where Cushing was blitzing and as soon as you snapped it the CPU automatically pushed him forward on a blitz before I could even do anything.

It is a bit shameful when only 3 receivers had a catch that game and Andre Johnson had seven while the other 2 had only two each...but Andre Johnson is too f'in good to ignore. I actually consciously tried to throw it to other people (I would look at Jones or Daniels or one of the many obscure receivers on Houston first before throwing it to Johnson) but they would never get open.

And I hope 2 interceptions is good enough BV...those both came early in the game on a couple of the rare times I targeted someone other than Andre Johnson, so I started to learn my lesson after that.

It's better than NO interceptions. :D

Still, I'm pretty sure Schaub is a shoe-in for MVP at this point.
