Hosting is hard! Trying to come up with something fun to play while learning the ropes of all the different menu settings for the first time was a challenge... It was a fun night, nonetheless. ;)

The cheapy award posts now have polls... though I'm upset to see "scumbag CAGs who abused ECA code" isn't in the villain thread.

Yeah... CAGs full of whiny bitches who overreact to everything (how many times do you see "ZOMGZZZ!!! They charged me already!!! I better get my money back!!!" whenever a glitch deal shows up that doesn't end up shipping, regardless of how many times people say "Its just a pending charge, they never took your money.") Hal's going to get villain of the year and he didn't really do anything besides advertising benefits of joining the ECA (any idiot should know membership benefits are ALWAYS subject to change) and not having a functional way to cancel online.
 
Found this interesting info on the RFG boards... the building stress system almost didn't make it into multiplayer. It's funny to read the explanation of the "new" destruction features that we all take for granted:

Hit a building with a rocket and watch large chunks of it crumble away as opposed to just the section you hit like in the beta. Adding in the Stress system also allows players to increase the number of ways they can kill an enemy with a building, since they no longer have to wait for someone to be underneath the structure before knocking out that last piece.
In addition to that, tall, thin building destruction has been improved as well. Buildings will fall down more realistically now than in the demo. If you take out the left side, it’ll fall to that side.

The destruction in the early multiplayer sounds a lot like how it works in Battlefield: Bad Company, where it definitely felt like a gimmick. (Then again, you didn't start with a sledgehammer in BFBC.)

Edit: Voted for both the RFG as best value and the RFG thread! I'm sure the ECA scandal thread will win by a landslide, I'll be proud if this gets second place.

I got mine from a server hosting firms website, almost all the one's linked through the official battlefield blog are giving away codes.

Also, gamestpot is giving away Command & Conquer 4 beta codes.
 
I would totally skip out on RFG to play some PC Battlefield, but where are they giving out codes? The sites the BC blog linked to were giving server errors or were just overloaded, pretty much par for the course for DICE.

Edit: All right, requested a key through EA. Now we'll see if they send it. Also I think I found that server hosting page you mentioned but their signup form is pretty dead. :bomb:

Shouldn't we be playing 2142 anyway, Mr. B? ;)

I was focused at us climbing that 'ladder to nowhere'. I wonder if there is a longer ladder out there in Guerrilla-land? :whistle2:k

And when the ladder was knocked off and like four of us were standing on top of each other... That was funny too! :lol:
 
That would've been a better picture, all of us standing on each other's heads...
We should do that on that map with jetpacks... try to get everyone standing on someone's head... could work. :lol:

Edit: Tried the BFBC2 beta. It's a million times more fun without having to use a controller, but it's no 2142. :nottalking: I'm just not a fan of Rush mode because all the action centers around the two crates. I wish they put Conquest in the beta instead.

YES... Everyone gets on everyone's head, then metaly (I'm figuring him since he's the one that likes to take pictures/videos) sets a singularity on the bottom, runs back and starts recording it, so we have a video of a tower of people getting tore apart with a singularity! :whee:

I think I'm going to spend a little time before Monday running around looking for a larger ladder... :twisted:
