CAG/PS3 Red Faction: Guerrilla Night [Thursdays @ 10pm EST]

Well... we were excited for other games...

Kinda looks like something that could hold me over until Twisted Metal comes out (I swear I will cry if none of you guys get that game )

Download only games=meh for me

Unless it comes out at or gets a sale that knocks it down to $5.

EDIT: Scratch that. After watching the video it's a no buy for me. Too many good single player experiences coming out in the near future to be squandering money on a mp only Twisted Metal ripoff.

Twisted Metal will probably be a day 1 purchase for me.

I actually have the new Twisted Metal pre-ordered. Looks like fun.

The only other TM game that I've ever played was Head On for the PSP.
Also... what don't you have pre-ordered randy?
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Gran Turismo 5
Medal of Honor
Mafia 2
Fallout: New Vegas
Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2
FIFA 11
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions
HAWX 2
Dead Rising 2
Guitar Hero: Warriors
NBA Elite 11
Front Mission Evolved
WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 11
DD's Mom

Also... randy, it was funnier before you added it, since it implied you pre-ordered my mom.
Also, also... I should've quoted your post... doesn't matter though.

I lol'd.

Those are games that I don't have pre-ordered, DD. That was your question, wasn't it?

For a minute there, I actually considered trying to add a game to the CAG database called "DD's Mom". That way, we could all add it to our wishlists. ;)

Games I am looking forward to this fall:

Test Drive Unlimited 2
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

That is all. I guess I want to play Dead Rising 2 but I don't think that needs to be a day 1 thing for me. I still think you should go back and give the first one another try, Randy, and just not pay any attention to the objectives for the first few hours.

The multiplayer in AC Brotherhood could be incredible if they can pull it off. It sounds like the stealth parts in Metal Gear Online (which were amaaaazing until people started shooting) or competetive Splinter Cell. Also it reminds me of that stealth shotguns game I tried to set up at GTA night long ago (which failed miserably for many reasons). Here's Joystiq's preview.

RF:Battlegrounds looks like it could be a lot of fun. I just hope the voice chat works for me.

There is not much coming out later this year that interests me other than Etrian Odyssey 3 but I still need to get plenty of the games that came out earlier in the year.

Yeah if you didn't like Dead Rising at first because of how horribly awkward the game plays, you should give it another chance. I didn't really like it at first but slogged through about 2 or 3 hours of the game on Metaly's advice and it ended up being one of the best games I've ever played.

Also Metaly you need to hurry up and blaze through Ass 2. If only to see how bad ass Ezio is. (It doesn't hurt that it's a really good game either)

I've got way too many games in the backlog to even consider a 4th attempt at Dead Rising. I hate when games use distant save locations and unnecessary time constraints to create tension; that shit's not going to change, no matter how far in to the game I get.

The only version that I have now is the Wii one, anyway. Maybe someday.

I'm a little confused by Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Is it Assassin's Creed III, or is it just an online/multiplayer-only expansion?

The only games I have pre-ordered for the back-half of the year are Metroid: Other M, Brink, Enslaved, Ghost Trick, Scribblenauts 2, and LittleBigPlanet2. I'm also kind of interested in Majin and that new Goldeneye. And I definitely want that Tomb Raider PSN co-op game.

Kube and Zen: You guys live near Seattle, right? Are either of you going to Bumbershoot? The lineup is pretty awesome (Decemberists, Rise Against, Weezer, Bob Dylan, and tons more).
Gran Turismo 5
Fallout: New Vegas
FIFA 11

I am shocked, the only games I want are ones that Randy doesn't. I am sort of suprised you have no interest in New Vegas though.

I would play through the campaign in Black Ops but I'm not interested in the other COD bullshit on that disc.
Unless it has more Nazi zombies.

I tried (twice!) to play Fallout 3 and I didn't care for it. I want to like it but I mostly just felt like I was either bored or just confused by it. Not my cup o' tea.

Fallout New Vegas (reserved, day one purchase!)
COD Black Ops (Hopefully I can get a review copy...I dont feel like paying for it)
Assassins Creed: Brotherhood...maybe, again it also drops in November, and monet doesn't come from trees, or does it?
Batman Brave and the Bold in September
Enslaved in October (looks cool...may wait)
Goldeneye Wii (again I would like to wait and see what the reviews say)

LBP 2 and Driver also look cool but I can wait or pass or goozex those

Randy I do believe Black ops has some sort of Zombie mode...

As for Bumbershoot, I'm not going this year, I"ll be at Pax Prime and even with that I can't get Friday off...

Yeah, I'm not surprised about Fallout:NV... maybe he would be into it if it had coop.
And regarding Brotherhood... according to wikipedia it's a direct sequel to Ass2, with multiplayer, but not Ass3, cause Ass3 will have a new guy.
I need to get Ass1 and 2...

I played it on the SNES...
I enjoyed it when I played it back in the day... if that helps any...
Part of me says you'd like it, but part says you might not...

Chrono Trigger is the greatest game ever made.

Edit: I should probably elaborate a bit but I've been playing it almost annually since 1995. I recently played the DS remake and it was as fun as the first time I played it way way back in the day. The DS version basically allowed me to finally make up my mind on my favorite game of all time. Chrono Trigger is it. You might not be an rpg fan, but if you're going to try one, you may as well try the best.

Thanks for the insights, guys. I'm thinking about it.

Also: happy birthday, Kube and Sweetsweet! I baked this for you:

Thanks! And yeah, happy b-day Kube!

That pic is funny, it looks a lot like what my birthday party over the weekend looked like:

Me either. I tried playing FO3 as a straight up shooter, but apparently you need to level up your ability with a gun before you'll even be able to shoot straight outside of using that VATS targeting garbage.

In the end I only got as far as wanting to nuke Megaton right after I wandered out of the vault.

Ahahahaha.

Happy Birthday, SweetSweet and kube!

Unrelated: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is $15 in the PSN store. GET IT.

Ha! That's freakin' hysterical!

The DS version of Chrono Trigger is definitely worth picking up. Though the new content that they added is pretty mediocre the core game is still there and is as great as ever.

I went to youtube to see what the normal version sounds like... I lol'd heartily when the first dozen comments mentioned "slowed 800%".

Also... that is actually pretty neat... I gotta play that completely sometime when I have nothing else I need to listen to... I'm also curious what other stuff sounds like slowed down 800%.

If anyone has Army of Two: 40th Day and wants to go through on coop, let me know... not likely, but I think someone did a while back (tctclmvphase (or something like that) I think). :D

So I finished Red Dead Redemption's Single Player (Spoilers Below Obviously):

I really think the game should have ended when Dutch dies. I understand why they gave you the missions with your family, to try to get you to really start to care for them. To me it really only worked with Abigail, I really didn't care about Jack, even less so for Uncle. Maybe its just that I naturally prefer happy endings to sad ones. Also, they probably should not have hidden the Edgar Ross mission behind a side mission, I found it but only by luck. I am just glad I won the duel first time .

I think I will go back and complete the human flying machine side mission, that was the only one that even still interests me.

I'd be up for some coop tonight before WKC (if kube/trw(or flik... I guess ;)) can make it too, it's way too unlikely to gold with two people) or friday or something.
Oh wait... tonight is the Goozex RDR night... I don't know if I'm going to join that or not...

I would be up for coop, though maybe not friday. How many here have RDR? If enough people have it, would be nice to boost through some of the online trophies
