CAG PS3 Unreal Tournament 3 Night [On Indefinite Hold]

That was fun! Nice to have so many players with headsets.

If I'm getting the rotation right we're doing some Warfare next week, aren't we?

Hone, do you have any user-created Warfare maps that you'd endorse?

I can look into it.

First off, it's WAR night with randy. Second finally got around to finding some new WAR maps. I'm trying to stick to the 3 / week rule. These are all winners of the MSUC Phase 1.

WAR Valley - http://hone.makesad.us/ut3_ps3/maps/war_valley/USERDATA.JAM
WAR Beachfront - http://hone.makesad.us/ut3_ps3/maps/war_beachfront/USERDATA.JAM
WAR InfectionForest - http://hone.makesad.us/ut3_ps3/maps/war_infection_forest/USERDATA.JAM

edited the OP with dates tracking when you need what Custom Content to make it easier on people to keep track of they've missed a week. Couldn't remember when CBP3:V1 was required, so just lumped it in with CBP3:V2

Thanks, hone!

I'll see everyone tonight @ 9:30. We'll play 1:1 against skilled bots so all CAGs will be on the same team and we can strategize. Headsets are always appreciated.

I'll also set the minimum score to 2 points so we can easily move on to the next map after capturing the enemy node (instead of having to repeat the maps for the extra point, like we did last time).

Any other requests? How 'bout a speed modifier or regenerating health?

sound like fun, ill be there

PC Speed and Health Regen feel pretty much mandatory at this point. I like it because you have to be efficient when taking someone out, or else they slowly get their health back. It feels cheap at 1st but it actually requires more skill at times.

I feel this way too. I have two health regens so it's about 90% of your health in 30 seconds. That sounds like a quick time but remember this.

A point blank flak cannon or rocket kills you instantly.

Four hits from the enforcer kill you if hit quickly enough.

The link gun can kill you almost instantly due to how fast it fires. Same with the machine gun.

It helps if you can live long enough if you're hit, but if you're fighting, it isn't something you should really rely on.

Works for me. I'll have PCSpeedX and AutoHealthX1/AutoHealthX2 turned on for tonight.

It's not really necessary for everyone to DL them in advance, right? They can just DL them from me when joining the game.

You got that right. They're some of the small files so anyone that doesn't have em just downloads them from the host.

I am going to be about 20-30 minutes late. I'm putting some stuff up on sale for ebay right now, as I need some spare cash. I will be there at around 10 though for sure.

Game on! Password is "cag".
hmm 9:30 is coming up soon and I might not be able to make it since I'm finishing up some homework. :(
Booooooooooo.

Good games, guys...thanks for playing. The new maps were a lot of fun, too...thanks to hone for digging those up for us.

The lesson for tonight seems to be this: "average" bots are too easy to kill, "skilled" bots are too hard to kill. "Experienced" seems to be the way to go, for future reference!

hey hey now...we came back and wasted those experienced fools, just took a while...altho you did mention something about the win not being "legit" what was that about, did you do something to the bots?

I'm not complaining! Even when UT3 is frustrating I still think it's fun.

I actually think it was Matt who said that, but here's my take on it:

You get 2 points for linking all of the nodes and destroying their core, which ends the game.

You only get 1 point for having the most linked nodes after the overtime clock runs out, which means you've got to play the map again to get that extra point to completely finish the map.

So, if we had stayed on tonight, we would have had to hammer away at Avalanche again before we could move on. We won the battle but didn't win the war. ;)

Yep, we won on thanks to the two sweetest words in the English language. DE-FAULT! DE-FAULT!
what card reader do you have?
The $7 kind. :D

It's cool how we were at least turning things around at the end of that Avalanche game. We would have won even if it wasn't overtime. Still, it was a little frustrating and I'd be interested to see how we match up with Experienced bots. (But you're right, it's fun either way.)

Come to think of it, I think my friends and I got similarly destroyed when we did Skilled back in UT2K4 Onslaught. We mostly stuck to Experienced after that.

Hey guys, I'm getting this sent to me via Goozex and was thinking about trying to make a few of these nights. What mods or maps do I need to grab to play on Mondays?

Thanks!

awesome! check the OP there's links to stuff anything that is under the dates but before the "not required yet". I'm trying to add 3 maps or so a week.

Ugh, figures, the one time I forget to check the OP for needs. Thanks Hone!

Since home is starting to get launched soon, lets all make a Unreal Tournament 3 group. We can have other people join and find new recruits and so forth. Though I rather have it called the GENTLEMEN group. TF2, UT3, Warhawk and so forth.
Though I rather have it called the GENTLEMEN group.
Dreamer! :p

I'm sure hone will start a group for this as soon as home is public. And hopefully, like you said, it will help us to get more recruits.

CTF tomorrow. I was trying to decide if we need maps or not for this week. I originally picked 3, but decided against it. 3 new maps every week to me feels a lot really fast and doesn't give a chance to really play out some of hte older ones. I guess I'll shoot for 3 every other week for each rotation (gametype).

Not a bad idea, hone. Long as we have somewhat consistent new stuff I'm happy, adds a lot of variety. Takes awhile for the new maps to get old, though, so I'm in no rush!

Might not make it tomorrow night, I'm really busy this week, but I'll try!

yeah, I'm definitely in favor of a stream of new content. It jsut seems like a lot lately, but if you check the OP matt, I have a queue of a lot of maps :)

This week is going to be freakin' insane for me, too...I love my retail life.
I'll definitely try to be on for tonight, though.

I should be able to make it tonight, just have to double check and which maps I might be missing, I missed the last 2 weeks of downloads.

Almost that time again. I'll be putting up the server in around 10-15 minutes. Start off at a FacingWords as a warmup with voting to be the way. I personally want to play at least one Haco match this game.

sorry, it was the week before thanksgiving so a ton of crap was due for school and today as well. I should be able to make it tonight and host! hopefully, if not I'm sure paco will pick up the slack :) Sine this is last minute, no new maps and after randy's war night, I'll intro new maps for the next 3 rotations.

in short, TDM tonight same maps as last time.

I can make it tonight. Though I would prefer Vehicle Capture The Flag instead of Deathmatch. I don't care much for DM anymore.

I'll be there and I'm totally stoked for TDM. It's a good balance between mindless reflexive action and some teamwork, which is exactly what I need right now.

I'll stay out of it this week. I got a final tomorrow and I think it'll be wise to study it some more. Anyone can host this week. I'll be back with a Friday game if anyone wants to join though.
