CAG PS3 Unreal Tournament 3 Night [On Indefinite Hold]

When I return with a working PS3, I shall layeth. The Smacketh. ON YOUETH.

And I want to do it on new DM maps. Preferably something small so it doesn't take an eternity to find someone.
 
eta? What do you mean? And it's the blu ray drive that's messed up. The box comes tomorrow so I should be back in about two weeks time.
 
I could be down for before next Monday. Wednesday is no good, Thursday perhaps. Weekend nights are less sure since I kinda do whatever and usually end up going out.
 
Usually 10, but BP hasn't been very oragnized as of late. I'm cool with thursday though.

Exactly what should I have downloaded though hone? Should I just get everything in the OP?

so what's a good time for thurs? just do it at 10? Re downloaded. Ideally d/l everything, but I'm probably just going to run Campgrounds2k8 + the CBP3:V1 maps. That's enough new stuff to get us through the night plus some regular maps we're used to. It's probably not a good idea to introduce too much new stuff.
 
As far as I'm concerned I'd do UT3 at 9pm. BP can happen at 10. There's only a few cross over players and it doesn't mean that UT3 will finish at 10 just that you may lose a player or two come that time.
 
i hope you guys play longer than an hour.
i just got home and need to eat dinner and spend a bit with the family.
im tryign to load all the content from the op as i do that.

sorry dude, if you didn't have to do the map loading would the time still be ok? I might try to push it to 9:30 start time to accomodate pst people.
 
Good games, everyone. It was cool finally getting to play this with people. My PC version has been collecting dust almost since I got it. I really need to find a better setup though because hunching over a keyboard on my coffee table got pretty uncomfortable.

No. It means YOU need to get one. I also use Mouse with controller. I use the controller to move around, voice chat, change weapons and my mouse to aim, shoot, jump and scroll weapons faster.

Eh, I had my moments, but maybe I was a little off comparatively. I've had better games, for sure.

That'd be great, except the reason I got a PS3 was because I don't really do PC games any more specifically because I have some pretty harsh tendonitis in my wrist, which makes using a mouse very miserable. Internet browsing is one thing, but frantic, quick movements for extended periods of time (IE more than 30 minutes) just murder my hands.

I was half-joking when I said they should be banned ;) I'd certainly not expect it strictly on account of me. But it is frustrating to know there are better controls I could be using if I wanted to ruin my hands even more.

Soon our controller filled hands will overtake their mice and keys . . . . . . . soon . . . . . .

Honestly, we stayed with them pretty good for the first few matches, but once they got warmed up we were in trouble. But, that's when we swapped teams and had a nice balance going.
 
Yeah, there was definitely a decline as the evening went on. Sniper rifles are almost useless with a controller :)

Indeed you did, Randy. It was discussed since Tuesday, gotta visit the thread more often!
 
I'm afraid if we do then we'll have smaller turnouts for both. I know I probably couldn't make 2/week on a regular basis, but it would be nice to have an option if we miss one.

if anything, Monday should stay the big night (you know, when 6 people come instead of 4!).

i really enjoy the little ive played ut3. its hard for me to make a planned gamedate when it starts 6-730 pst
thats my family time and i cant really sit down to play in the middle of it.

a bit later is better but im sure thats not the case for those of you eastern folks.
i would however like to play more often with cags.

what's the earliest you can play?
 
it depends on the day really.
like today im home from work now.
saturday and sundays really anytime unless its
during a charger game.
but prior to dinner is always best.

id say as a general rule for m-th starting around 5
 
I think for Monday I'm going to shoot for a 9:30 PM EST starting time (6:30 PST). Can everyone who plays regularly post what times work for them on Mon/Thurs? Also, if you got the content for last Thursday( CBP3 + Campgrounds2k8 ) that's all I'm shooting for this Monday. thanks!
 
Sony has received my console. With any luck, I should be back on soon. Though Hone, wouldn't the auto health mutators add to the game? I believe that with the auto health mutators, they make the fire fights more hectic and just a touch more strategic and require even more aiming.
 
Can anyone fill me in on the mod maps , I haven't played since a little after the Master Chief model came out .
I have alot of the maps up to that point .

Are there certain maps that are must haves for CAG nights ?

i prefer auto health 1&2 and pcspeedx mutators
it does make it more hectic and more fun IMO
 
I'd be in favor for the pcspeedx, but I feel like for people who use controllers it puts them at a disadvantage. I'm willing to try the autohealth mutators, but I've never relaly liked them since they promote a more run/hide tactic. Plus pure dm games have never really had autohealth. I would hold off on the mutators for monday though since I'd be more in favor of people just getting the 2 custom map d/ls.

I've already been using PCSpeedX for a while. I didn't hear anyone complaining. What I do remember is people saying if it was any faster, then it would be unwieldy for controllers "that speed is PCSpeedX+ which is 20% faster then the pc game"

The auto health may be hide and seek in some areas, but with Morbias, and smaller maps, that have no health, it is more of a the one with the best aiming lives longer, even if they do get hit by a lucky shot. And 3 health per second isn't much when a lot of the weapons can kill you with one good shot.
 
yeah, but I think it's good people with good aim die in maps with no health. I mean that's the point of the game. If mappers wanted more health they would add them in.
 
yeah pcspeedx+ is too much. i think normal pcspeedx is perfect.

since Paco has been running PCSpeedX, I'll try that on Monday. People who don't have it I think it autod/ls it but not sure.
 
No idea. I thought the one on UT3mod.com was PCSpeedX+ which is 20% faster then the original PCSpeedX mod. It may be safe to tell everyone to download it though.
 
It's one of those things that if someone doesn't have it, they download it from you since the file is so incredibly small "About 60 kb I think" So anyone that joined most likely had it.
