CAGFC (UFC 2009 League) - HW's Only! New Site! Details Inside!

Sorry Nate. I missed ya by a couple minutes. I was like hoping at 6 we'd just get it on and be done with. I'm on now and sent ya a message but I guess your just waiting in the screen for him lol.

Gary Russell | I Am DrP1zza | Tapout (Kimura) | 3:45 of Rd 1

Saginaw, MI (Backdoor Gazette) - DRP1ZZA LOSES! THE SKY IS BLUE! WATER IS WET!

Yeah, good match. DrP1zza got hosed though! (and not in the way that he enjoys) This was a really tough loss because I don't feel like I did one thing wrong the entire match. Considering I landed some strikes, actually threw you a couple times, mounted, threw heavy strikes, blocked transition attempts, and once we were back up, I blocked a slam into a guillotine choke (which I actually thought I was going to get because you had almost 1/3 red showing on the bar).

Then, you escape, go for a kimura, and DrP1zza goes limp like his own dick. WTF??? I suppose the only mistake I COULD have made was going for a technical escape, although I thought for sure you were stronger than DrP1zza since you used a power escape to get out of the guillotine. Like I said though, it's my own fault for expecting him to do anything other than fail miserably. I'd still like a rematch though because it wasn't one of those matches where I was just outclassed. I really thought I could have beaten you.

Well, there you have it, folks! Gary Russell moves to 7-1 with another successful title defense. Russell got the win over a distraught DrP1zza by locking in a kimura at 3:45 of the very first round. DrP1zza left the ring sobbing, muttering things about Paypal, and said "I feel like such an idiot!"

In other news, CAGFC has a brand new Lightweight champion! In a battle between the top contenders, Joey Acez and Ash Cambell fought for the title vacated by Andrew Kennel. Cambell came out on top, as he knocked out Acez with just 1:08 left in the third round. CAGFC has seen some recent additions to the Lightweight division, so Cambell will definitely be seeing some challengers for his title very soon!

CONGRATS ASH!!!

Ash Campbell|Joey Acez|KO|Round 3 (3:52)

Yep, good fight. Acez changed his strategy around, going for a lot of takedowns early, but Judo has a lot of good transitions and I ended up in mount. He survived that to end the round, and caught me in a clinch in the second round, but I was able to block most of it. The rest was mostly Acez trying to keep out of punching range, but within head kick range. I ate more headkicks than I would've liked, so I've got to practice my blocking better. I mostly just tried to cut off the octagon and threw a bunch of punches.

I've got two belts now, someone better come get 'em.
I knew this day would come sooner or later. The day I face Matt Young. I'm good basically anytime throughout the entire fight period exept for Monday and Tuesday. It'll be nice to fight someone I actually know for once.
Yeah, it'll be good to play something with you again. I just need to get back and practice... 5 straight league losses.

The reason Gary tapped so quickly is likely due to the fact that when you counter a move into a submission, those submissions are much harder to escape than regular ones.

Bill Brasky - Codi Garbar - K.O. 3rd

After being cautious of heavy hands Bill hung back and pick his shot. Deep in the 3rd Codi went for the take down and Bill Brasky landed a vicious knee to the head!!

Good fight

Bill Brasky | Codi Garber | KO at 1:47 of Round 3

Yeah my guy was a little underpowered in this one. He doesn't appear to stack up to the other fighters in the division anymore. He will fight on for now but he may see the twilight of his career approaching.

I will only play this game with CAG's now. I'm done with other people. After the tournament today, I won't ever apply to another tournament again in my life. I know I'm going all EMO but, It sucks ass when you actually think your good at something then get rocked by assholes who taunt ya the whole game and shit. Yah. I had to vent. As you can tell, the tournament went shitty.

Even though you're really good and play a lot, there will always be those people who focus solely on one game and kick most people's asses. It just sucks that they apparently had to be douches while doing it.

Alan said it best to me on AIM...there is a WORLD of difference between your Created Fighter and just the regular UFC guys, and your right as well Matt. But man, that hurt my pride. I probably wont show my face there till NHL 10 comes out. I just feel like such a fucking loser you know? Everybody is out to win the money anymore. Gotta pick the best guy of course while I pick the underrated guy. Oh well, looks like I'll have some fun getting FLASHED Sub'd for awhile with you guys. TWICE.....seriously?....REALLY? lol :D

Don't worry about it, Gary. Just remember that you could kick most of their asses in real fights. ;)

I need to get on this AIM thing one of these days...

In the spirit of UFC 100, I've started playing this game again (not that I stopped intentionally) and I've just finished year 5 of my heavyweight's career. After a long delay, I hope to have him finished for CAGFC 8.

Oh, and I don't know if there's any need or want for this, but I made a MySpace group for us: http://groups.myspace.com/cagfc

People still use MySpace?

Reason I never used Facebook for the longest time was I thought it was just another MySpace as I hated the look of MySpace and didn't like the amount of viruses and spyware that were on there. Maybe a Facebook group could be created as well for those of us who don't have MySpace?

I use Facebook more often now than before, but Facebook basically copied MySpace's strategy a few years ago and changed a lot. Also, Facebook is responsible for first bringing those shitty applications.

But if you want to make a Facebook group, go ahead. I'll join.
Mir an underdog? For real?

Lesnar
GSP
Henderson
Fitch
Belcher
First time I've ever guess it 100% right. Brock's interview was fantastic.

sorry to rain on your parade but belcher lost a controversial decision

yeah, especially with the one judge who got it at 30-27. Was this person watching the fight at all lol. I had it at 29-28 belcher. Him winning the 1st and 3rd. You could argue he won the 2nd also since he controlled 50 percent of the round in the stand up but I gave it to akiyama for octagon control on the ground for 2 plus minutes.
Belcher shouldn't have kicked that poor japanese guy in the sac, accident or not, it probbably cost him the match.
accidents happen, it didnt cost him the match because a point wasnt deducted so if the scorers were proper they didnt consider it. Don't watch mma much there do ya chief.

Very mellow fights for being UFC 100. except for Hendo!!!! Seen that coming the whole fight bisping kept circling out to his left and finally got waxed Ha Ha!!
I was still pretty pissed about Mirs poor performance on my first post changed so I didn't come off prickish. Lesnar did have fierce power for sure and dominated the ground. I still think Mir would have done better standing instead a flying knee to guard........That was stupid.

Ha, you're right. I suppose I should've read my own post first before quoting it :)

Got to give it up for his opponent though, after getting punted in the balls and having his eye swollen shut he was still able to go the distance, and even absorbed that crazy superman punch by Belcher. I don't agree with all of the judges scores (30-27 for Akiyama?) it was still a hell of a fight.

Watching GSP pick Alves apart was great, amazing that he pulled his groin and still performed like that. He was obviously in a lot of pain when Rogan was interviewing him.

I was surprised that Brock wanted it on the ground after how the first fight turned out. It'll be interesting to see who'll take the belt from Brock considering his size.
not to be a dick, but shouldn't all this talk be in the UFC thread instead of the CAGFC thread?
Ehh, probably, but as long as it doesn't turn into flaming or some huge debate, it's ok. I just don't want any of the actual league posts to get missed. For anyone who didn't know, here's the OTT MMA thread...in which I've been debating Brock Lesnar's moral fiber..or the lack thereof, haha.
Fiber is overrated, anyway. Makes you poop all the time.
Who doesn't enjoy a good poop?

Seriously though, even Lesnar fans have to admit ripping into one of your employer's biggest sponsors and promoting their biggest rival is a dumb play. Dana said he'd "take his word for it this time" (that he was just "jacked up"), but the only way guys like this learn is hitting them where it hurts...the wallet.

Or White could try to lead by example.

^I kinda agree, White should have retracted his statement against Loretta Hunt of Sherdog(he really shouldn't have said anything). This one incident showed me that Dana is a hustler and not yet matured into a businessman.

Sorry about the off topic post I didn't know there was a mma thread. I checked out the thread there's a lot of different opinions. The internets is fun. huh huh
Jeremy Hill - jean claude - T.K.O. - 1st round (1:31)

Also after last night Dan Henderson is now a favorite of mine; it was amazing how he just loaded up with his right and still won!

Granted, Dana went way overboard in his reaction to Hunt's article (it appeared that he just decided to tape his response IMMEDIATELY after reading it...which wasn't the best idea), but you have to recognize the difference in responding to someone who has already attacked you, versus attacking a company that supports your employer just because you don't like them.

I also think the reason Dana responded so strongly to Hunt is because she was dead wrong in the claims she was making. I can understand getting upset when someone is accusing you of manipulating your fighters in a way that alienates them from their managers. That's basically a conspiracy theory. Some of the words Dana chose in his response to her were crude, but he was defending himself. Brock's comments were unprovoked.

Drew, I contacted you the other day about playing our fight today, but I've heard nothing back. Maybe tomorrow?

EDIT: Just saw your previous post about not being available Monday or Tuesday. I didn't see you on when I got home and signed on tonight. I know you're a reliable guy, so just post or message me when you will be available.

Ok, that's cool man. I do hope you'll come back with a new fighter though. Personally, I feel that it takes 2-3 times through the career mode to really understand how to utilize your training, sparring, camps, points, etc. Hope to see you back soon!
JDMxB,

JDMxB,
I forgot the All-Star game was on Tuesday night so the only nights I'm open are Wednesday and Thursday.

Nate Lisa | Cung Le | KO | 0:11 of Rd 2

Crazy fight between me and cgarb. The first round basically consisted of us feeling each other out. Both of us landing some strikes, and both of us mounting some offense from the ground. The round ends, with neither of us looking particularly damaged or tired.

Round 2 starts. We come toward each other, pausing briefly to try to gauge each other's timing. I get closer and throw a superman punch. cgarb apparently had the same idea as he also goes for a superman punch, but a fraction of a second behind mine. Fortunately for me, mine got there first, and connected clean, knocking him out cold. That's one of the worst flash KO's I've seen in the game...only 11 seconds into the round.

Regardless, good fight cgarb. It easily could have been me on the receiving end of that exchange. Those are the breaks, I guess.

I'm playing Drew tonight, trying to end my 5 fight losing streak. Also, my heavyweight will make his debut at the next card, assuming Nate can fit him in. I will reveal who he is soon.
