CAGFC (UFC 2009 League) - HW's Only! New Site! Details Inside!

I didn't realize you had the power to know how everyone has been communicating.
It wasn't directed at anyone specifically. Just a general statement concerning something that is a universal problem across all online sports leagues. Based on some of the posts in this thread, there are obviously some communication issues. However, if it doesn't apply to you, then don't worry about it. Honestly, I'm not really worried about when the tournament gets finished. I figure it'll get done when it gets done.
I say this from the bottom of my heart, with the most sincere kindness and friendship, but COMMUNICATE YOU LAZY MOTHERfuckERS! lol, jesus, how difficult is it to send (or respond) to a PM to let somebody know when you'll be available to play a 10 minute fight? This "Oh darn, I guess I missed you" shit is infantile. I'll leave you with an example that you can try for yourselves.

Lazy CAG #1: Hey Johnny, I was wondering when you'd be able to do our fight for the CAGFC league. I'll be available tonight and tomorrow any time from 7 to 10 PM EDT. Let me know if either of those works for you.

Lazy CAG #2: Hi Billy! I'm glad you messaged me. I've really been wanting to get our fight done so the league can move forward, and everyone won't be waiting on us anymore. I have plans tonight, but tomorrow at 8:30 PM EDT sounds great! Maybe, afterward, we can have some chocolate milk and watch "Leave It to Beaver". Gee golly! That sure does sound like a lot of fun! See you then!

Lazy CAG #1: Tomorrow at 8:30 PM EDT sounds perfect Johnny! I'll see you then. PS. My mom bought be a new decoder ring today! It's neato!

Amazing how revolutionary that concept is isn't it?
The Leave it to Beaver part is f'ing GOLD:applause:

I do think it may be time to cut some people. I live as busy a life as the next person so I know it isnt that difficult to find the time to play 1 match in almost 2 weeks time.
I do think it may be time to cut some people. I live as busy a life as the next person so I know it isnt that difficult to find the time to play 1 match in almost 2 weeks time.
Seconded. If people can't in 2 weeks find 15 minutes to get a match in, then maybe they should step down until more time frees up. Its just ruining it for the rest of us.

Andrew Kennel | Manny Pacquiao | RNC | 3:17 Round 1

Good fight, you really caught me off guard with that flying armbar attempt, I guess I just didn't think that would happen from the Pac-Man. It was kinda laggy on my end, don't know if it was the same on yours or not.

GG, it was really laggy for me. I was ready to stand-up and trade but it was too slow. Instead I figured the game would end one way or another on the ground. At the end, I couldn't tell I was being submitted til the animation showed you leaned back.

We should post in the OP what our region is so as one can know prior if the game will be laggy.

I'll be online if anyone wants to play some matches.

It doesn't matter what your region is. I've had horribly laggy matches with a friend who lives 30 minutes away, and low-lag to lag-free bouts with Nate and Vulcan, who are on the opposite end of the country.

And, as Nate said, we can just drop guys down the rankings if they don't fight. I just want someone to fight in the damn tournament, and now my fight is the only one left. I've been making a strong effort to play, but I still have received no correspondence from sleepy aside from the one post in this thread.

Congratulations to Andrew Kennel, CAGFC's first ever Lightweight Champion!!! Kennel beat Manny Pacquiao with a rear-naked choke at 3:17 of the very first round. The fight sounded action packed, with Pacquiao attempting to take Kennel out with a flying armbar early in the round. Kennel recovered however, and locked in a submission of his own to take home the victory. Below Andrew's name in the OP, you will now see this:

CONGRATS ANDREW!!!

--------------

Wow, lots of posts tonight. I think the general consensus here is moving on. I'm glad AK and seen got their fight in, but I really don't want to wait any longer for sleepy to wake up, So, in an effort to get a card set up for tomorrow, this is what's going to happen. There will be no Middleweight Champion decided by the tournament...

WTF??? Yes, I'm right there with you. But wait! There's more! :)

INSTEAD, the first ever CAGFC Middleweight Champion will be decided at CAGFC2, in a rematch between Matt Young and Jackie Chan!

Other belts will be on the line, and other fights will be scheduled. At this point, all fighters (unless there's an odd number) will be placed on the card, and all fights WILL BE DUE by Thursday, June 11th at 11:59 PM EDT. If you're unable to fight, notify me ASAP. Any fighter who flakes on two consecutive fights will not appear on ANY future card until a bigger committment is shown. I'm going to be putting the card together now, so stay tuned for more details!

Thank you. The last fight went to a decision, so hopefully the rematch will be good. This one could go 5 rounds, after all.

Alan, I have finals on Monday and Tuesday, but I'm probably going to be home most of the weekend. if we can't play tomorrow or Sunday, I can still play Monday-Thursday. I'll just be more limited in my availability on Monday and Tuesday.

Weekend will probably work best for me as well. Wrapping up my internship this coming week, so things might be a bit unpredictable.

All right guys, the card for CAGFC2: UNFINISHED BUSINESS is now up! Due to having an odd number of guys in certain weight divisions, some fighters were left off the card this week. I apologize, but rest assured, you'll get your chance to fight on next week's card.

Also, you'll notice that rankings are now posted in the OP as well. For the most part, these were done by record, but overall rating is still taken into consideration when tiebreakers are needed. There are many ratings that I'm sure are outdated. Anybody who wants their rating updated just post in the thread what your new rating is, and I'll get it fixed.

And with that...LET'S FIGHT!!!

fuck yeah, main event!

Alan, just let me know if there's any certain time that works for you. I may or may not be back online tonight, but as I said, I'll be home most of the next 2 days.

Oh, and one suggestion, Nate- Could you possibly list the dates the titles were won (and, when applicable, lost) in the OP? A history of championship reigns would be nice to look back on eventually.

Hm, Sunday afternoon would probably be best. I don't know if I'll be home in the afternoon tomorrow, but I'll probably be on at night both days this weekend.

Gillums when ever your ready. I must say. I like the way the Card looks now :D

Also, I'm just gonna throw this out there. I believe who ever is the Champion of there Weight Division, they should create the match and make it 5 rounds. That way they will announce you are the champ and blah blah blah. Just a little suggestion how ever.

We're 1 hour apart in time zones, right? It's nearing midnight here, now. Not sure if I can do Sunday afternoon, because there's that Lakers game and a WWE pay per view. I think both start around 5 Pacific/6 Mountain, though, so I guess we could maybe play before then. But if you are indeed available at night, tomorrow/Saturday night would be just fine. Are you playing 1 vs. 100? I'm going to *try*... maybe we could do that, and fight afterward. Just respond when you get a chance. I'm about to try to get some sleep.
BG, i can play tommorrow night anytime after 7pm eastern if thats good for you.
Moonknight, actually tonight isn't a very good time for me. Sometime Sunday morning or afternoon would work a lot better for me if that would work for you.

I don't know if I'll be able to make the start 1v100 tonight, but I am almost certain I'll be on an hour or so after it starts...so let's aim for after 1v100 tonight?

Plans fell through, I'll probably be on for 1v100.

Great suggestion Gary! I agree 100%. The title fights should most definitely be set for a 5 round length, and having the champion initiate the challenge seems like a good idea. I've added this to the OP in the "When Do I Fight?" section at the top, and directly under this week's card.

Title fights should be set up by the defending champion and set for a length of 5 ROUNDS (obviously, the MW title fight can be set up by Young or Chan).

Oh, and Matt Young, your suggestion was also a good one! I originally thought that just having the show history in the "Past Updates" section would be good enough. But having a "CAGFC Title History" section makes it a little easier to look at. I have now added that to the OP as well.
Heh, I waited for the next card and I'm not even on it :)
Sorry about that man. It's just the way it worked out this time. You're still the #1 contender for the title though, and you'll definitely be fighting next week.

Also, I had to make a change to the card. I guess due to all the chaos with trying to get the tournament finished, I somehow managed to forget to add Ultimate Matt X to the fighter roster (I know he had been talking about joining for awhile, but just posted his fighter recently). Anyway, that made the HW division uneven, but I really wanted the new fighters to have a chance to fight this week.

So, I decided to bump Brandon Craig and give Matt Domoracki his spot. I hope you're not upset Brandon, but you did have to forfeit your tournament fight due to lack of time. So, hopefully this isn't a tremendous letdown. You'll definitely have a spot on next week's card as long as you're available.

Wow for the light heavy weight title? Pressures on! By the way, my guys final rating is 78. I will be sending homeland a message on live today.

No worries, just thought it was amusing. Interested to see how PandaBot/Homeland turns out because either way it's a rematch for me.

I sent you a friend request but you never accepted it. I've just been waiting. My brother plays xbox alot more then me so I told him if matt young ever accepted the friend request or msgd me that just to fight him or call me if i'm home. Nothing ever happened.I'm going to send you another one right now.

Edit: it said your friend list is full cant add you.
I sent you a friend request but you never accepted it. I've just been waiting. I'm going to send you another one right now.
Um, unless something has changed, Matt's friend list on Live has been full for quite some time. This is another reason that checking CAG is important. I mean, maybe I'm assuming too much, but I generally figured that most people signed up for a league on this site because they come to this site fairly often.

All you need to do to be successful in this league is visit CAG at least once a day to see if you have any PMs. Respond to those PMs. And check this thread at least 3-4 times a week, responding to any posts directed at you. That's what...maybe 20-30 minutes a week to keep up with the league? That's not that bad.
Can I join this league? I suck but would love to play some CAGs online. I will not play randoms.
Yeah, man. Anyone can join. Just read the OP and post your fighters information (I assume you've started a career).

Yeah, I for some reason posted that and then read the OP. Thank you though. Gonna have to figure out some stuff first then I will post.

Hey Matt, just incase you dont get my msg via live...

I thought there was only one 1v100, taking place at 8:00 MT. Didn't know there was one at 6:00. I wont be able to get on until later, sometime around the 8:00 episode. Sorry if I missed ya. Let me know if you want to play during that episode.

Hey mikebike let me know when your free this week so we can work something out, i.e I throw you some bones for you go down in the 2nd :D

Alan, I just woke up a short time ago and totally missed 1 vs. 100. Sorry... I'll message you on Live if you're on now.

Sleepy, yes, my friend list has been full for a long time. Even when I do delete someone, it's usually to add another. If the friend request doesn't show up as "You have sent a friend request to XXX" on your list, it didn't go through. I never got one.

Also, a friend request on Live isn't sufficient communication even if the person has a spot open. There eneds to be communication in the thread and/or PM's, rather than waiting for someone to sign on Live.

Soodmeg, good to see you join! We've always interacted in league threads but never played each other. Also, Nate, thanks for going with my suggestion.

Is it Sad I spent about 90% of my day in this forum alone waiting for updates and PM's?

God, CAGFC is my life. Let's admit it.

Plus I like fighting CAG's cause I know they wont quit while in the second animation of the tapout.
Nate, you need to shave your head and say "fuck" more often.
But why would I want to be CheapyD...?

lol, in all seriousness though, I say fuck plenty. It's the shaving my head part I could never pull off. I'd look like I had Leukemia, haha (wait..did I say in all seriousness? WTF?) Besides, I could never top this

Dana has some bad analogies; if you are the Browns vs. the Patriots and are losing, even if your running game is better you still would want to pass more to keep the clock stopped...Seriously Dana has a great league but is unprofessional and that is the reason why he is not on prime-time tv.

Jackie Chan | Matt Young | Submission | 2:11 of Round 5

Great fight, but Alan raped me in the clinch and with blocking ground transitions. I couldn't resist his kimura, even with my 88 sub defense.

Jackie Chan | Matt Young | 2:11 Round 5 (Submission)

A lot more exciting than last time. I guess Matt threw a bit too many punches early on, draining his stamina for the remainder of the match. Otherwise, you should probably have been able to easily get out of it.

Uhh, I think you missed the point. He's saying that it would be like the NFL wanting the Patriots to win. So, BEFORE the game, they go to the Browns locker room and offer them money to NOT go with their strength (ie. running). Then, instead of doing what they do best, they're basically blackballed into doing what the league wants.

I'm sorry, but Dana is 100% right about this, and I love that he tells it how it is. Paying a fighter more to fight in a disadvantageous position is slimy as hell. It does alter the odds (which thousands of people are using to bet thousands of dollars) and it manipulates the fight.

The worst part about it is EliteXC was doing this on primetime television, as though it were the "premiere organization" in MMA, claiming that it had the "premiere fighter" in Kimbo Slice. seen, you've said before that you haven't followed MMA for very long, but you have to recognize, that's dirty business no matter how you spin it.

Wow, after a long wait, CAGFC finally has its first Middleweight Champion! Jackie Chan defeated Matt Young in what sounded like an incredibly exciting fight! Just as it looked like the fight was headed to a decision, Chan locked in a Kimura that forced Young to tap with 2:49 left in the 5th round.

Chan used his clinch game effectively and must have worn Young down as he was able to finish him off and take home the belt. Below Jackie's name in the OP, you will now see this:
