Edit: Just saw my opponet post in this thread. To anyone in the future who will play me. PM me or message me on live, do not just post in this thread. Thank you.

Found this GIF in another forum. Thought I'd share.

Matt Cracker | Brandon Haines | Triangle Choke | R2 (sorry didn't get the time)

Wow, what can I say. No excuses this week. I just can't stop his ground game or takedowns. I got a few real nice shots while standing, but obviously not enough for a knockout. Congrats man!

I wasn't going to risk those kicks trying to stand. I've been flash ko'd twice in this division and when you landed one of those kicks right in my face for a second I thought that was going to be it.

*Sigh.

I will never understand joining a league but never checking the league thread.

Congratulations to Matt Cracker for laying down the law and proving who the top dog in the Light Heavyweight division is! After winning a controversial fight to take the title from Brandon Haines, Cracker defended his belt in a rematch, defeating Haines convincingly. After exchanging strikes early in the fight, Cracker decided to take it to the ground and was able to catch Haines in a triangle choke at 2:24 of the second round.

In other CAGFC7: SHOWDOWN news, we've got less than 24 hours to the deadline (7/16 at 11:59 PM EDT), and there are still 5 fights that need to be completed:

Renato Sobral vs Jason Hart (LH)
Matt Young vs Drew Campbell (MW)
Brandon Craig vs Cody Ash (HW)
Small Light Smurf vs Michael Klein (LH)
Jay See vs Mach Sakurai (WW Championship)

There is one fighter in danger of being removed from future cards. Cody Ash joined CAGFC a few weeks ago, but has yet to complete a fight. That doesn't really start you off on the right foot. Kinda leaves me wondering why you signed up. I really hope you make an effort and get that fight done.

Let's try to get these fights completed guys. I figured as the league expanded, we'd have a patch of separating the novelty players from the real MMA fans. Hopefully as things progress there will be less trouble getting fights set up. Let's keep things rolling!

I'm pretty sure I'm retiring after this event. It's felt more like a chore than anything setting up fights. The fights I've had have been good and everyone was really great to play against, I'm just not that into it anymore.

Ok, well, that's up to you man. But I do find it ironic that the week you decide this is the week you're scheduled to fight a guy you know in real life. I'll tell ya, you can lead a horse to water...lol.

I have made two posts here and sent my opponent a message over Live, and he has not responded yet.

Well, that's the thing. I couldn't even apparently get this fight to happen. We were supposed to fight last night and I was on from 11:00pm-3:00am eastern last night and I didn't even see him sign on.

But don't feel like I'm taking my ball and going home in a "screw you guys I'm out of here." kind of way. I've had fun playing with all you guys and would love to continue to do so. If I'm ever playing the game online feel free to send me an invite and I'll still throw down. For all I know, this could be a Brett Favre kind of retirement. haha

Oh, no. It's cool man. It was just the irony of it slapping me in the face. As a longtime participant/organizer/scorned lover of online sports leagues, these kinds of problems always pop up in one form or another. But having two people who know each other in real life become victims of it is a new punchline altogether, haha.

I'm just really glad we've got a loosely structured thing here. I'd be wanting to hang myself if we had a "season schedule" to stick to and guys were dropping out. This format is far better for my mental health. Come back any time :)

EDIT - Also, you do know that Matt always shows up invisible on Live right? I mean, knowing him, he probably just passed out from not sleeping for 3 days and got butt raped by some Martians wearing Gary masks, but I'm just sayin.

Haha, well I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. Although Matt did tell me he was sucking on your titties the other night. I asked him who was enjoying it more, and he said you were because they were lactating, hahaha. He may or may not have been drunk when he messaged me.

Sadly, no...no, I'm not. Matt gets a little crazy in the midnight hours. I just hope he doesn't live anywhere near a farm or even a bar that has a mechanical bull.

Waitress: "Dammit, that kid is dry humping the bull again."
Bartender: "AGAIN!?! Hey kid...it's not real. You can't...ah, god dammit!"
Waitress: *sigh* "I'll get the hose."

Can't wait till he comes in here and reads all this stuff, haha :)

Well, this thread certainly has been... interesting.

Drew, I hope you're not referring specifically to this fight. I was trying to contact you over the weekend on here and MySpace, and then you made the post saying you could not play Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday, we communicated and agreed to get the fight done yesterday.

As for yesterday, I couldn't connect to the internet after 5:45 P.M. It was not an Xbox Live thing; I just wasn't able to connect to anything internet related, thus I had no way of contacting you. I couldn't even watch a movie I really wanted to see, that they removed from Netflix streaming at midnight. I just went to sleep while watching The Tonight Show.

I'd like to get the fight done today before the deadline, but if you find me at fault, I'll take a loss if that's what you need to keep you in the league. I was looking forward to playing you, though.

Oh, and Nate- We don't know each other "in real life", but we have played a lot of games together on Live.

It's not your fight. I guess since I've been in the bottom ranks the entire time I haven't been getting paired with committed fighters so it's felt like a chore sometimes trying to get into contact with the people who aren't into the game.

I'm in the early stages of a light heavyweight fighter's career so I might just come back once I'm satisfied with him since thats a way bigger division than middleweight anyway.

Sorry, just trying to keep myself entertained, haha.

I guess I thought you guys knew each other for realz because of the "it's nice to finally fight someone I know" comments. Me assume = ass out of me..and me again. My bad. I hope you guys are able to fight though. I get the unsettling feeling that people are getting tired of this game. I feel like I'm just getting good at it.

I'm retiring from playing Online ranked matches until they patch it, the about 6 or 7 times in a row that I've won a game only to have the opponent disconnect is so ball bustingly frustrating that I foam at the mouth every time i see that little disconnect popup. I need 5 more ranked matches to win to get an achievement and in 3 and 1/2 hours of playing online...I didnt get a single one due to lag, and disconnecting sociofucks.

So, I would like to join the league. Let me know how this works.

Name: Joseph Garcia
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 205lbs
Fighting Styles: Judo, Boxing
Overall Rating:
96
I get the unsettling feeling that people are getting tired of this game. I feel like I'm just getting good at it.
Honestly, if it wasn't for the league I would be tired of the game. The whole reason I went through single player again was to create a different fighter, and I stopped playing ranked recently because at 62-22 nearly every other fight is someone disconnecting. With the exhibition matches the AI starts to become predictable, especially in the mount position.

Until the game gets patched, CAGFC is the only reason I keep playing the game.

Yeah, if I could remember all the horrible messages I've sent to people after they disconnected, I might actually start to feel bad, haha. It's unbelievable that there are people who expect me to fight their 119 CAF, people who spam subs (spam as in using sub attempts as a means for transitioning rather than actually learning to play the game), people who cheese "guard offense slams", but yet when I bust my ass and battle for 3 solid rounds to finally get a submission, they'll quit.

I usually say something to the effect of "nice fight you fucking pussy". One guy told me "boo hoo" and I just couldn't help myself. I responded "yeah, that's the sound your mother makes when I'm done fucking her". It's like roid rage man, lol. I wasn't proud of it, but it just felt like he deserved it somehow.

The best was when I told one idiot to take his loss like a man. He replied "actually, I was winning. But you got a sub. Not fair." I was so baffled I couldn't even respond, haha. I also like to tell people "so, I guess you're just going to stop playing when the patch comes out?"

Anyway, as far as CAGFC...yeah, the fights here are ridiculously competitive. Since you've posted your fighter's info (I assume he's one you've taken through career mode), I'll get him added to the roster, and he'll be on the next card that gets posted tomorrow. After that, you'll have about a week to contact your opponent, schedule a time for your fight, and get it completed. Read the OP for more details on how to post results, etc.

I agree 100%. I like this game a lot but it has some problems and the online worn very thin quickly. That patch can come out soon enough and by the time it does I might be so jaded as to not care. I was stuck on 95 wins for a week and a half because so many people disconnected, the higher rank the worse it is.

The league is great though, Nate gets props for that. Even then I dont see this game going through the entire summer.

I only play this game now for the league now honestly. Ever since my heart breaking loss at Play N Trade, I won't play online. I did get my Rank 50 achievement and the black belt achievement. But it was a BITCH none the less. Last but not least is the trophy one and 1 million fans one. I don't know why BUT, I love flash KO'ing somebody online who can't quit in time, then tell you it's bullshit. There are so many people board quitting it's sad. I always send a message and they tell me to stop playing like a pussy. Cause I'm a slammer and it's what my guy excels at. Hell there is nothing more satisfying then taking out somebody who is 119 and then they send you a message asking for a rematch and you do it again and they call YOU A cheater/glitcher!

I don't have time to read the rest of the thread right now since I'm about to leave. I'll be back probably in 30 minutes.

So... are we going to play tonight, or are you just done altogether with your middleweight?

I'm not tired of this game. Single player, maybe, but not multiplayer. I just haven't been playing it daily like I was before since the newness has worn off, and I've gotten a handful of new games in that time.
Speaking of which, I got Red Faction, Drew! And if you still want to do our fight, I'll be on and off Live. If you don't see me on there, message me here.

Joe, good to see you've finally joined us. It's ironic, the timing with Drew and all, since I told you guys both that you should join during the same conversation. As for ranked, I'm only 3-1, but I'm waiting to dive in fully until after the patch has been released.

For that reason alone I hope when they patch they still let stat cheaters on Player matches. I love GnPing some 110 and up guys.

Mach Sakurai | Jay See | KO | 2:21 RD 1

Thanks for getting right on the fight tonight homeland.
Another successful defense for Sakurai. Jay See was able to throw one flying knee
before I was able to get the hooks in and take mount.
Then, GnP until he stopped moving.

ya good fight.

Nate can you remove my fighters. I barely play this game anymore and each week I'm getting my ass handed to me more embarrassingly. The quality of fighters in this league is just amazing, to the point where I can't get out of the first round, or more commonly the first 2 minutes. It was great playing with you all and Nate you did a hell of a job with CAGFL:applause:.

Ok guys, the results from CAGFC7 have been finalized. Also, some major housekeeping has been done. The fighters who asked to retire have been respectfully removed from the roster (and are welcome to rejoin at any time).

We had a few fighters who have just been lingering on the roster since the beginning, that I decided to move to the retired section as well. BoSoxFan's 360 red ringed right after he signed up, and he never rejoined us, and never had a single fight. pimpster's disc broke several weeks ago, and I wasn't sure if he was replacing it or not. I PM'd him, but he never responded, so I guess that means he's done. talonthrawn, one of the founders of CAGFC, sadly never came back from getting married. I know there's a joke here somewhere...

We had one fighter moved to the suspended fighters list. cashHD joined us a couple weeks ago, posting his fighter's information and raring to fight. Then, he never posted in the thread again and didn't complete either of his first two fights. Not really sure what the point of this was, but thanks for wasting everybody's time.

After cutting all the fat, you'll notice that CAGFC now has a much leaner roster. I hope this will allow us to run more efficiently. I know some people have said the only reason they still play the game is because of CAGFC. I just hope that's a big enough reason to keep you playing. I don't know exactly how many more cards we'll be able to have, but I'd really like to AT LEAST make it to CAGFC10.

If we ever get to a point where the same people are controlling most of the fighters and are fighting each other every week, I've got an idea for what we can do. But I'd still like to keep this running as long as possible.

In that spirit, the card for CAGFC8: TRUE WARRIORS has now been posted! We're calling it TRUE WARRIORS because the fighters we have left, who have stuck it out and are still going strong are the true warriors in this league. Thank you guys for continuing to fight and showing what true competition is all about.

You'll also notice there's a special main event, with a mystery opponent for Chris Moore. I can't say who that is yet, but all will be revealed soon!

The deadline for CAGFC8 fights is Thursday, July 23rd at 11:59 PM EDT

Good luck guys!

Nice, Cracker when do you want to lose your belt?

I can play anytime today from...well....right now until about 2 in the morning.
Although we missed the dead line, Klein and I just fought a match which I won my knock out in the 3rd round.
I'll change it just for the sake of the records. Glad it turned out the way I ruled it though so it doesn't mess up the card. If you had lost, obviously, you wouldn't have gotten a title shot.
Nice, Cracker when do you want to lose your belt?

Later tonight if that works, I should be available around 7pm EST. Careful with that kind of talk or you might find your controllers' batteries mysteriously dying during the fight.

Guys, my internet situation is too finicky and I hate holding matches up for people that are ready to play. The last few matches I've had have been riddled with lag as well because my provider decides when it wants to dick around.

With that said, I gracefully retire my CAGFC fighter -- Renato Sobral. Hopefully after I get a new ISP setup I can rejoin the league.

Thanks everyone, I will be back!

Damn it. I dont know what happened I came out so flat and had so many distractions. God damn storm outside.

Bah. Good match man. Next time I will be more focused.

Although I will say we vs a couple matches for fun and I won all of those.

Except the third one when I got a lucky choke on you. The leglock in the second fight was pretty close. WTF was up with those judges scores on that one anyway? I mean you certainly did more damage, but that one judge had it as a 30-25! Seven takedowns, a near sub, and some GnP and I got 25?!

But yeah, Matt Cracker l Small Light Smurf l 2:52 R1 with a Rear Naked Choke

I tried to stand during the second of the fights and that was a mistake. I couldn't get out of that boxing clinch. Those judo throws in the third messed me up pretty good as well.

My voodoo caused one fights batteries to die, and sent a thunderstorm to distract another opponent, who gets hit with the Cracker Curse next?

Hahaha, nice guys! A win is a win. Sometimes people surprise you and that's just the way it goes. That's the fight game. Maybe smurfs shy away from thunderstorms?

Joseph Garcia d. Jason Hart 3:29 of round 3 via guillotine choke.

Garcia frustrated Hart with his blocking of strikes and takedowns, while Hart had to defend many glancing strikes from Garcia when they got in close. When Hart did get Garcia to the ground, he could not get any strikes in as Garcia consistently countered Hart's strikes into submission attempts.

Hart finally fell to the 8th submission attempt of Garcia as he was choked out. Hart had more takedowns in the fight, but Garcia dominated Hart in transitions 4 to 1 so Garcia probably had the advantage on the cards but we'll never know.

Hart's record falls to 3-5 overall (1-5 in non-forfeit fights.)

Congratulations to Matt Cracker on another successful title defense. After seeing his record fall to 1-2 after CAGFC3, Cracker has reeled off 5 straight wins to put himself atop the Light Heavyweight division. He defeated Small Light Smurf at CAGFC8: TRUE WARRIORS by sinking in a rear naked choke at 2:52 of the very first round. It looks like the rest of the division will have to get serious if they want to take Cracker's belt away!

Introducing Chris Moore's mystery opponent:

l_4063ce6c72644daba8c82ed4ebc2b06d.jpg

Name: "Big Nasty" Gail Pennyfeather
Born: Stockholm, Sweden
Fighting Out Of: Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Height: 6'7"
Weight: 235 pounds
Fighting Style: Boxing/Wrestling

Gail Pennyfeather is a mild-mannered man around strangers, but when comfortable, he allows his eccentric, flamboyant side to show. Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Gail dreamed of 2 things while growing up: becoming a professional cage fighter, and finding a big strong man to spend the rest of his life with (not necessarily in that order).

Pennyfeather had a seat on the Swedish Parliament, but he was kicked out and banned from ever holding a government position again after proposing a bill that would have legalized sodomy in Sweden. Pennyfeather also served a 3 month prison term, where he learned both how to fight and to fuck.

With government work unavailable to him, and since all the people in Sweden were total pussies, Pennyfeather was forced to move away in order to pursue his dream. Gail settled on Montreal, Quebec, as a place of residence because there, he could train to fight while still being surrounded by a bunch of funny talking fellow queers.

Pennyfeather, to this day, is undefeated in professional mixed martial arts, but has finally left French Canada to pursue a career with the most prestigious organization in the world- the CAGFC. Now, after a slight delay due to visa issues, the man affectionately dubbed the "Nordic Negro Nutlicker" will make his much-anticipated (in Sweden) debut at CAGFC 8!

Cung Le and Chris Moore, I can maybe play tomorrow, and I can play after 8 PM Pacific time on Sunday. After that, afternoons or evenings are good for the rest of the week. I'm at the bottom of middleweight now, too. :(

Russell says to bring on the Flamboyant one.

Who knows, there might be a backstage brawl between the two after his fight Matt. :D

Nate, you know the deal with me. Same thing Regian. Never have a problem getting in contact with me ;)

There you have it, folks! The mystery opponent for Chris Moore is The Swedish Sodomizer, Gail Pennyfeather! There's no telling who will come out on top in that one, but someone is sure to get it in the end!
