Ah, that sucks dude. No need to take a forfeit though. Your opponent went on vacation last week and said he MIGHT be back for this week's card...but that's why I said it could get moved to CAGFC9. If you also need the extra time, the fight can definitely be moved. Hope you're able to get back up and running again soon though.

I had a scary moment in the wee hours of the morning. The power went out and came back on within a few seconds. I was playing UFC. I got the red ring of death, but upon turning the system off and then on again, I was able to play normally.

EDIT: Gail Pennyfeather has finished up his Canadian fighting obligations and his final overall rating is a 96. Also, I have PM'ed both of my opponents.

n8rocker, I'm good to fight again now. Though it's good that I'm not on this card anyway as I'm going out of town and it would have been a pain, but you can put me on the next one if needed.

Good to have you back, man. The Heavyweight division was starting to get a little thin, but you're the second addition we've had this week. So, maybe it's starting to turn around.

Well, I am up and running...for now, thanks to several reformats and a windows re-install. I think my HD is gonna crash soon, but I sent sleepy a message. *hopes everything holds*

Congratulations to Mach Sakurai for an unprecedented 4th straight title defense! Sakurai moved his CAGFC record to an impressive 6-0 with a submission victory over newcomer Bill Brasky. Sakurai was able to catch Brasky in an armbar in the 3rd round.

With only 3 fighters in the Welterweight division, and Sakurai illustrating his dominance, he'll take a night off at CAGFC9. Bill Brasky will fight Codi Garber to see who deserves another shot at Sakurai's title. Either way, it's not going to be an easy task!

Great fights fowlbeast, both were anybody's fight until the subs got locked in.
Brasky was killing me on the standup but so far nobody can stop Sakurai from taking full mount.
I think a re-match would be a great action fight. If he can get by cgarb, that is.
We need some more fighters in WW division! I hope it doesn't die out.

Very exciting fight in lhw division also, action packed and I got lucky to get that 2nd armbar.

I hope people aren't getting tired of the game yet, I still enjoy the weekly cards even when I am on the other side of a beat down! Great job so far N8, thanks dude.

Where ya been Nate and Regian, I use to see you online all the time, now I barley see you at all. Well when ever I'm on send me a message and we will get it on like donkey kong!

I am just throwing this out there but since a handful of people have already brought this up I figure its a good time to say it.

Is there anyway we can up the amount of fights per week? Yes, I know it will make it hard for all the matches to be completed in a said week (hell we have a hard time getting them all done when its just 1 fight a week) but as many have said the game is starting to wear thin.

The only time I play this now is when vsing you guys and once a week isnt enough for me to keep a full game (although there really isnt anything else out which helps)

The league is fun...playing against random is not and THQ seem to be taking their sweet ass time in fixing the online part. We have already had a chunk of people drop out so maybe more fights will keep people interested in it for a longer period of time?

I dont know...just saying.

True.

cgarb and I had a great fight, but I fucked myself in the end and the losing streak continues. After a very even, brutal battle, I had Cung Le on the ropes with my clinch uppercuts, but he reversed me and then I accidentally pulled guard. After that, he used his superior ground skills to mount me and punch me to death.

Cung Le l Matt Young l KO l 3:47 of Round 3 (mounted punches)

Cung Le | Matt Young | KO at 3:47 of Round 3

Yeah really good fight. I had trouble with the uppercuts from the single collar tie but I was able to withstand enough punishment to get the KO. We seem to be very evenly skilled overall, which makes for some very close fights.

Yeah need more fighters here. Those fights were intense man, had clamly palms trying to keep the fight standing up but sakurai's takedowns and mount are strong. too bad last night he couldn't pull it off at DREAM, still good fights.

By the way, I finally got blackbelt cheese the other night. I never quit a match and like everyone else had about 20 or so people quit on me.

Still, I am pretty happy about getting it with a 74 percent winning average.

Actually, this is the OPPOSITE of what people were suggesting. Some were wanting the cards to be only once every two weeks. Personally, I feel one per week is the sweet spot. It's no where near too demanding, but it's often enough to keep the people who care about MMA involved.

I'd definitely second the idea of doing exhibition matches, and maybe even finding a "training partner". I think that would give you the best of both worlds where you could stay sharp, but still have the flexibility to try new tactics and strategies without it going on your record.

I totally hear where you're coming from though, and I also feel you need to play the game regularly to stay sharp. The problem is no matter what we do, it won't please everybody. My hope is THQ will release the patch sometime next week, and then we can all use quick matches (that are actually fair) to keep our skills fresh.

Eric Ortiz | Jackie Chan | KO | 4:27 of Round 3

Dude great fight. You're always fun to fight against.

Round 1: Your first punch of the fight was a superman punch and knocked me down lol. I fought back with a lot of takedowns the rest of the round. I had you in the grey, half knocked out at the end of round 1 though. You were one punch from being knocked out lol. Saved by the bell.

Round 2: You fought back and it was pretty even. You wore me down a little and threw on a Kimura that was WAYYY to close to finishing me lol. Luckily I was able to get out of it.

Round 3: You kept catching my mid kicks and throwing me around. Your Muy Thai clinch had me yelling at the TV not to get knocked out with every whip you did lol. A good left cross got you into gray followed immediately by a superman punch for the knockout.

Great fight man.

Eric Ortiz | Jackie Chan | KO (4:27 Round 3)

Eric Ortiz with three straight wins over Chan. Again, it was mostly domination all around by Ortiz. A superman punch from Ortiz late in the third round connected, dazing Chan. Before Chan could recover, Ortiz followed with another superman, knocking Chan out for good.

Nice fight again. Didn't really get into my "rhythm" until halfway through the second, but you still outfought me the whole game. I honestly am surprised I made it out of the first without getting KO'd. I really need to redo my guy. No sense in using MT if my clinch grapple rating is mid 70's- I could only get in two whips before sleepy could escape.

Edit: Haha, yeah, definitely saved by the bell. When I heard the 10-second warning as soon as you rocked me, I was just hoping I could hold on.

Well, it's a good thing Ortiz/Chan happened when it did. Shortly after, this happened

Hey Vulcan, I'll be on a bit tonight and probably late tomorrow night as well. Been going all ADD with new games coming my way.

Hell froze over? Is that when Ortiz was supposed to beat Chan? Damn...that's some good shit talking right there! :)

More specifically, Saginaw, Michigan. Isn't that where Satan's retarded son lives?

Who the hell was suggesting we play once every two weeks? Thats such a long time for 1 match to happen. I was more leaning on having like a CAG PPV event tourny or something.

Bah, I am just restless, its your fault N8 because you made the league too good. Now all I want to do is league stuff....beating random bums online is not only easy but pointless. Pfft. You are such a dick N8te....I real friend would have made a crappier league so I wouldnt feel bad randomaly quiting.

DAAAAAAAMMMMMNNNNN YYYYYYYOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!11111

Anyway, any one want to play a couple of quick matches with me later on?

WOW, dude. I wish I could have had that on a fucking saved replay. Regian went in for the takedown and I knee'd him right in the face. WOW. It looked SO brutal. Good Fight Regian.

Gary Russell | Shaun Parent | Knockout Rd 2 2:27

Gary Russel | Shaun Parent | Knockout | 2:27 of Round 2

How it happened? Face meet knee. Knee meet face.

Owwww.

Good fight, dude.

Man, it would be fucking fantastic if we could get some replays or some type spectator mode.

Actually come to think of it....I knew of a league in APF2k8 were they had whole games up.

In fact.....since I am a Camera Op/Video editor in real life maybe I will save some footage of some of us fighting and make a video.

Well, no wonder I lost if I had to fight a heavyweight as a middleweight. How about...

Jason Miller | Nate Lisa | Tapout (Kneebar) | No fucking idea when because I spiked my controller into the floor, smashing it, and somehow sending me back to the dashboard of Rd 2

In other news

I Am DrP1zza | Brandon Craig | KO | 1:36 of Rd 2

You must be referring to 2k football strategy. I believe they used Hava to stream the games.

Haha, nice. I might have to put that in the "WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING" section of the OP.

If someone is interested, I could probably stream my matches on like Justin.tv or something using my gamebridge. Or just record them and post them.

It's ok Nate! It's just a game remember! That's what you guys told me when I lost the tournament! In due time young padawan......in due time! You still love me though right?

Why does Gary only ever win with a kneebar? Excluding the flash KO's like the knee counter to a takedown, that is.

I'm supposed to have my heavyweight fight with Cmoore tonight. I hope he can play at 5 my time instead of 4.

I'm guessing he waits for the standing opponent to gas, then boom, takedown to kneebar.

Nah... He doesn't wait for anything. He (as a heavyweight, anyway) slams the shit out of his opponent till there's nothing left. Thankfully, I now know how to both counter standing slam attempts as well as how to prevent him from picking me up off the ground.

The kneebar is usually the first submission available when the fight goes to the ground (open guard offense). Generally, Gary doesn't waste time transitioning to positions for cooler/fancier submissions. Just like his hookers, he likes it quick and dirty.

I could have fought him smarter, but even with my 100 vs his 101, I felt like I couldn't touch him. He's basically like the CPU on expert. If you can stay ahead of him, you can beat him. But once he has you, it's over. The kneebar he got me with was his only submission attempt of the fight. I wasn't really gassed either. He just goes for it, and it's done. He waxes that stick like a professional.

I don't have any trouble against the CPU on Expert, save for a few select fighters. But Gary, now that's a different story.

I need to practice using the stick more, with my 88 sub offense that my middleweight has. I tried it in one fight and it worked well. The only problem is that it's hard to do when you have sweaty palms, deep into a fight.

And Cmoore, if you read this, get back to me on our fight. You said you wanted to play at 6 central, but I checked Xbox.com and you haven't even been on. I did send you a PM asking to play at 7 central instead, but you haven't been on the board since this morning.

Have you fought much Lightweight on expert? There are some ridiculous wrestlers in that division. I'm actually having a hard time with my new CAF because all those guys are so good on the ground. Some of them spend the entire fight just trying to take you down. Throwing kicks is pretty much not an option. And once they have you down, they block almost every transition. Lightweight is the toughest in my opinion.

Are you talking just career, or exhibition? Because career is a lot harder than exhibition.

I'm slowly going through each division (maybe 3 fights at a time) to get the achievement for playing as everyone on the roster.

Career. Yeah, even guys like Rich Clementi give me freakin fits in career mode. Going through Lightweight career is like being picked on by a bully where they just pin you down, wait for you to tire from struggling, and then fart on your head (although, replace farting with armbarring you in this example).

Tuffgong, will you be available for our match either Weds or Thurs evening? I sent you a couple messages while you were on Live, but you must have been doing something.

Yah, If I see an opening I go for it. I don't try to transition to a better position so I Get a fancier sub. I don't know whether that's a bad thing or good thing about me being different than the CPU lol. But alot of people know my weakness and can take me down. It just depends on the mood im in and how I want to play really. Sometimes Slams, sometimes being a douche ground game person. I'm ready for Matt.....that's for sure.

Let's do an exhibition match or 5 sometime soon. I won't be able to challenge for your title for at least a few weeks, and that's if all goes well for me, which it hasn't been at middleweight.
