CAGFC (UFC 2010 League) - 9/25/10 - CAGFC25: MELTDOWN (fights due by 9/30)

Franky, I'll be working from now till wednesday, from around 5PM EST to around 2-3amEST. I should have thurs/fri/sat free.

Also, I'll change my WW guy's name. It was a copy/paste job that I never got around to editing.

Wow that sucks for you! I should be available Thursday and possibly Friday but Saturday is out as I've volunteered my services to help a friend move. Very dumb of me

Post the videos from our fights Bubba. Show everybody your shoulder humping and submission spamming glory. It's ridiculous that to fight somebody like you I have to just pretend I'm playing a ranked fight and fight like a complete asshole. I'm sorry, but it's a completely bitch fucking move to be on bottom and submission spam your way out of getting punched. I can maybe see catching a punch, but grabbing for kimuras the second you're on bottom is fucked up and cheap.

So, I can't stand with you because you spam takedowns, and I can't take you down because you sub spam from bottom. That's fucking horseshit. There's just too many exploits in this game to play with people who play like you. These fights felt no different than playing ranked. Can't wait to see the videos.

Yeah, HW fight, you're getting completely trashed, so you try to go right to rubber guard. When you can't get it, you go for the kimura for no other reason than to stop getting punched (it's not like I was gassed or anything), and having absolutely no intention of trying to lock it in. After that, it's right back to spamming rubber guard. At that point I got pissed off and started fighting like a dick, wanting to spam you back...but knowing that my HW only has like 30 for sub offense, I knew I wasn't going to get anything. But I was sick of dealing with your garbage tactic.

As for the WW fight, same thing. Spamming rubber guard and retard strikes from the bottom that have no business doing that much damage. Then you use an escape, which might as well be a fucking omoplata because it's the exact same animation. Face it. All you've got is abusing exploits in the game and things that have a hard time being countered. This isn't "skill". It's taking advantage of the way the game is programmed. I suppose it's a coincidence that both of your fighters have rubber guard? Like I originally said, people who fight with your style ruin the game. You take every unrealistic part of the game and rely on it to win fights.

It's definitely a problem with the game's programming that these things are so easily taken advantage of, but you have to acknowledge that you abuse them. The fact that you can attempt a submission in almost any ground position (top or bottom) simply with the click of an analog stick is crap when people use it the way you do. The fact that 2 inch punches from bottom can cut people open and do damage is crap when people use it the way you do.

I'm telling you man, you're not going to be allowed to dominate this league by fighting like that. It's not happening. Nobody else here spams shit the way you do. If you think it's not spamming, tell me why you attempted that first kimura in the HW fight. There was absolutely no reason to do it other than using it as a crutch to stop getting hit. Go ahead. Try to defend it.

Oh, I guess I should report the results of the fights though.

First of all mister all my HW sub attemps were legitament attempts. I saw I had higher cardio so I went just to test to see how high ur sub d is. and I saw that it had to be under my Sub O. So when I rocked you I I figured better be more sure ending fight with submission and not risk him getting up from T(ko).

WW fight I knew you Ground game was not as good as mine so I did the same thing. But used my clinch to push you to the cage and get my slams and put you on ur arse. And I use rubber guard to set up sweeps.

Also I did a total of 5 submission attempts in 2 matches and I was 2/5.

Im not running around going in yo face in yo face. If you want a rematch CAGFC 18 you can get on for WW but it will be same results.

[Edit] It may not be cool it may not get many fans or glory but my hand gets raised and I walk out the champ. I won the title train for my style or lose.

[Edit Edit] Funny how you banned me in 2009 striped my belt for being unsportsmanlike.

I'm curious what others would think after seeing the videos. For the HW fight especially, my opinion is that you were getting handled until you spammed the two sub attempts from bottom. I maintain the stance that it's cheap to grab at a kimura just because you can and it's the easiest way to tie up and prevent from being hit. I don't need a rematch because somebody else deserves a chance to fight you and form their opinion as well. But I'm just telling you man, nobody is going to enjoy fighting you with you doing that kind of shit. So, again, it's going to be just like last year. You're the "champion", but nobody wants to play with you. What's the point?

Man, the video quality on that site sucks. Lots of playback issues. But I did watch the videos.

In the HW fight, Meaty definitely was spamming submissions while on the bottom. It's obvious that he tailored his fighter to take advantage of that. It's one thing to focus on submissions. I won't criticize someone for not standing up and striking. That'd be like those people in the MLB 10 league who complain because pitchers don't throw strikes. It's part of the sport. But when a person exploits something that they know is overpowered or hard/impossible to stop, then that sucks for everyone else. That is one reason why I usually dislike playing randoms on sports games.

And this has nothing to do with Meaty, but I'm not sure how you got rocked after only being hit in the head a few times prior to that ground and pound, although you did get hit about 7 times, hard, once you were down. I've just never seen anyone tap out so quickly in the game.

The second fight was similar as far as offensive attempts from underneath. I kept seeing submission/rubber guard attempts not because they could have gotten the win for Meaty, but being used in lieu of being able to get up. Again, I have nothing against Meaty personally and I wouldn't blame him for exploiting such things in ranked matches- it ruins the game, but most people who play ranked do it- but this is the CAGFC. It's supposed to be more about honor, respect, and simulating the sport and its most well known organization. It just doesn't feel right.

I almost forgot: How did the tap come so quickly, again, in the WW fight? That time, Nate's stamina wasn't even depleted. Damn it, game.

I figured the least I could do was watch and offer my opinion. As for my fight, Jay and I keep messaging daily but haven't been on at the same time. I did contact him last night when I saw he was on, but he didn't see the message till later. He wrote to me a little after 5 A.M. Eastern and I responded, but haven't gotten anything back. He's probably at work.

I'm hoping he gets my message and is able to respond before I (possibly) have to leave. But that's still a good 7 hours away, so there's plenty of time. Luckily, 2 CAGFC fights don't take half as long as one baseball/football/basketball video game.

Dude your stamina was yellow because all the body shots you took in the WW fight. I did sub spam once in the HW fight but that was just a scout tool honestly. In the WW submission My SUB O was higher than his and I had a quarter more stamina. It doesnt matter if its depleted. And if Im spinning harder than you I will win........ Atleast I dont lay and pray on you I try to transition.

WW fight your body was like 70% damage from all the slams which are all level 3's.

The tap occurred so quickly in the HW fight because I was rocked when he went for it. You can sub a rocked opponent pretty much instantly (that's how I got the "sub on expert in less than 60 seconds" achievement). Again, I'm not trying to get everyone to gan up on Bubba, as he at least seems one more year mature than he was in 09 (I'm guessing he's like 15 now). But I do want honest opinions.

And the fact remains, in another couple weeks, he'll have fought everybody in the league, and I doubt anybody will want to fight him again. So, Bubba, whether you're right or wrong (despite acknowledging it with your HW, you're still defensive as hell), that's something for you to think about. I'm sorry, but going for a kimura as a "scout tool" is bullshit. You're full of shit. You did it to stop getting punched. Period. I have a strong suspicion you would have spammed even harder had you remained on your back. If that happens in the future, you're gone.

OK im remodeling my cafs you want a stand up beast you'll get one. Its kinda stupid no offence. It's KO time.

Like I said, there's a difference between sub spamming from underneath and just plain being a ground based submission fighter. But yeah...

Jay messaged me back and said he's free from now till 8:45 Eastern. He's not on XBL now, so I'm going to watch an episode of Smallville on the DVR and then check again in 45 minutes to see if he's responded. I told him I'd be getting back on then and would like to play him before my MLB 10 game with cpac. Hopefully, that will work out, and we can get both fights done.
OK im remodeling my cafs you want a stand up beast you'll get one. Its kinda stupid no offence. It's KO time.
Dude, comprehend a sentence. The issue wasn't even YOU being on top. It was what happened when someone was ontop of you (ie. when you SHOULD have been in a disadvantaged position). It's just about not abusing exploits. Being able to grab for a submission at will as a means to tie up IS an exploit. I wish the game wouldn't allow you to just attempt a submission at any damn point you feel like it because in real life, there sure as hell is a lot more to it than "oh, here's an arm...let me grab it and twist it". Just out of curiosity, do you even follow MMA in real life?

If you're that much in denial, I'll set up a CAF to be the cheapest, most bitch move fighter ever, and then we can fight. I'll spam rubber guard, and omoplata escapes, and takedowns, and lay and pray, and submissions. Is that what it's going to take to get it through your head that nobody enjoys fighting a guy like that?

Look, I'm not saying I'm the best fighter here, but I know there are a few guys in this league who haven't put a whole lot of time into the game, so their skills aren't as sharp as they were last year. But let's just say for the sake of argument that the fights I had with you are the most competitive fights you'll have here. What is the point of you continuing to fight?

Instead of some snappy comeback, can you please answer my questions? (notice that each paragraph ends with a question) They're legitimate, honest questions that I'd love to know the answer to. I'm not trying to railroad you out of here because, in all honesty, this league is A LOT smaller than it was last year, and it would hurt to lose anybody. But it's going to hurt it a lot more if the fights aren't fair and/or competitive.

Pretty much agree with Matt here. Especially that random ass kimura in the HW fight. Attempting a sub off your back just after you got your face pounded in seems like you were trying to stall the fight, not "scout" as you said you were. I know you are the only one who truly knows, but from watching the vids, that's what it looks like.

And it's kinda stupid, no offense, that you're obviously the most die-hard player of this game here, and yet brag that you beat all of us who play this game once a week, if that.

I never bragged lol.

@Nate- I dont know how to answer your questions but that was not sub spamming and i submitted you because I spun the stick faster than you. Im sorry if I take offence to you calling me a cheating pussy because I play 1 video game better than you. I honestly dont want to fight in a league of cry babies its a game. Ive lost my fair share of matches but I wipe it off and try harder next time. Now im making my caf 100% Stand up so you ccant complain when ur ko'd.

Nobody's crying about anything. Nate's making comments based on your fights, and the rest of us are making comments based on the videos. Again, I have nothing against you, but you still have avoided answering any questions here.

Jay never messaged me back after the last one I sent him, so I guess we're not playing today. I messaged him on Facebook a half hour or so ago after not hearing back from him on here, hoping he'd get a notification on his phone or something, but I guess not. :whistle2:\

I never bragged lol.
Really...

Im 6-0 with one guy and 2-0 with another, and champion in both WC's. Also my other wins in 2010 for this league were by KO both in round one by stand up.
Simeon Lamhov for HOF...........

It may not be cool it may not get many fans or glory but my hand gets raised and I walk out the champ. I won the title train for my style or lose.

And the questions Nate asked have nothing to do with the designers of the game. Plain and simple, you're dodging his questions.

Hey Moo juice want to kick my ass tonight? I'm on anytime after 10est til late. If you need me to get on earlier I could pry do that as well.

LOL...WTF??? Do you know what a "?" is? (Oh shit! There it is again!) Since you truly seem dumb as a brick wall, I'll pull the questions out which are directly aimed at you:

1. Just out of curiosity, do you even follow MMA in real life?

2. Is that what it's going to take to get it through your head that nobody enjoys fighting a guy like that? (Now, this one is tricky because it references the sentence before it to give you context)

3. What is the point of you continuing to fight? (This one also uses the sentence before it to give it context. Have you caught on yet? Oh no! It's that fucking curvy symbol again!)

By the way...check the UOC boards, douchebag. :)
How does that make any sense?
Just because someone shoots you out of their crotch doesn't mean they're you mother

After 10pm EST sounds good to me. I should be on anyways, so send me an invite or i'll send you one if you're already on. Whatever works.

Truer words have never been spoken.

MLB 10 game wouldn't work thanks to SportsConnect. Jay was napping earlier, apparently, but he's on the dashboard now. I just messaged him on there and responded to his messages on CAG and Facebook, so hopefully we can get these fights done now.

Im a blue belt in BJJ and been kickboxing for 6 months now and wrestled since I was 4. I like watching ground fights. So you tell me do I like the ground? I also watch every MMA event I can even WEC, Strikeforce, and Belator.

Im not trying to fight on the forums and Im not answering your questions, Im following your rules there were none so I assumed why not just do this. If you dont want ground grappling just make it a K-1 league. Im not into arguing over a 6 man league in which everyone is pretty humble. Im not answering your questions because I dont have to and I cant answer questions that I already answered. Everyone loses n8 Im not gonna go 19-0 here one of you is gonna T(KO) me or sub me its how games go.

I've been in this league for just over a year now, and do you think Im playing you guys the way I'd play UOC guys? No I still like fighting with you guys because there is less drama and no assholes.

1. People like me have clearly stated that we are not suggesting a ground game is bad, nor submissions, but rather the actions under the circumstances which we mentioned.

2. "Im not answering your questions because I dont have to and I cant answer questions that I already answered" doesn't make any sense. Which is it- you don't have to answer, or you already have? The issue is that you're avoiding questions and making comments like that. If you weren't doing anything wrong (for lack of a less serious term) why refuse to answer questions?

I'm not trying to pick a fight. I'm honestly trying to understand what you mean.

@Nate I will give you two rematches right now scratch the other two if you leave me alon about this card.

Whatever. It's not worth arguing with somebody who has the comprehension level of a pencil. If people disagreed with me, I wouldn't have an argument. Let others form their opinions about you.

EDIT - I don't want rematches. The fights happened. That's fine. But am I going to treat you like I would any other CAG? No. Absolutely not. I don't trust that you won't try to fuck me over the first chance you get. But like I said, if it gets to a point where you're dominating the league, and nobody else is having any fun, I can't let you fight. I'm sorry if that sounds mean, but this league isn't just for you to parade around destroying everybody. There's a distinct difference in getting better at the game and learning all the cheap strategies that are difficult to counter. I can expect people to do the former. But I will not expect them to do the latter.

Yeah, we had a hard time getting things set up as far as being on at the same time (referring to the whole week) but we got it done. The time Jay posted for the first fight was wrong, but that doesn't really matter, I guess.

Matt Young l Aaron Alvarez l KO l 4:35 of Round 2

I mean no disrespect whatsoever in saying this, but I controlled this fight pretty much the whole way through. Unfortunately, due to the horribly confusing setup for assigning moves to a CAF, I realized after mounting that I somehow had no ground strikes in my repertoire. I'm definitely changing that right now. But Jay kept fighting and survived getting rocked, only to succumb to a head kick late in the 2nd round.

Fedor Emelianenko l Gail Pennyfeather l KO l 2:25 of Round 2

This fight was pretty much even and we both had good chances to win. Again, I achieved the mount and Jay kept getting out of it. He slammed me several times, but I didn't let him gain any position on the ground. So we kept standing back up and hitting each other. He started getting the better of that exchange, so I went in for a grapple. I got countered via KTFO. I need to stop doing that.

Fun fights, though. I'm glad we managed to get them in. Sometime, maybe we can get a party going in which a group of us can all chat while taking turns having some friendly bouts. I'd love to do that sometime this coming week.

Jack Locke l E. Honda l KO l 3:31 of Round 3

Prison Break this was not, Lincoln Burrows time may be done in the heavyweight class. As an aging fighter he struggled like a little bitch. Meanwhile E. Honda was off eating pizzas and cookie dough to put on enough weight to make himself available for the Heavyweight Class in a matter of clock ticks. E. Honda was pissed and landed a shot to Lincolns stupid mug.

Hahaha, nice write up, Franky! Looks like I was the only one who couldn't earn a split in his fights. Really great job getting these fights done by tonight, guys. That will put us back on our regular rotation, and I'll have the card for CAGFC18 up soon.

All right, records and rankings have been updated, and the card for CAGFC18: MAYHEM is now up! Since we were able to get back on our regular rotation, these fights will be due by August 5th at 11:59 PM EST. The opponents are all mixed up again, but hopefully everyone is still able to get their fights done on time.

Jack Locke looks to continue his quest to get off the island...err I mean up the ladder in the UFC rankings. Lincoln Burrows looks to exit solitary...err the bottom of the standings.

CAGFC 18 should be as epic as they come.

Well, Franky and I already got our fight done. It was nice to be able to get one fight out of the way so quickly. Again, I forgot to look at the time, but it seemed pretty late in the first round. I'm going to say 4:30, but feel free to correct me, Franky. I heard you saying he got distracted by Enriqué Iglesias or something outside the octagon when he got rocked, haha. I thought it was Kate though. He looked to his right and was like "KATE! WE HAVE TO GO BACK!!!" hahaha. Good fight though, man! :)

Nate Lisa | Jack Locke | KO | 4:30 of Rd 1

Yeah 4:30 sounds about right...maybe Jack saw Kate and Enrique together. I hate kate. I kept tries to do the EPIC flying punch for the season finale, unfortunately I couldn't pull it off.
