CAGHL 2k7 - League Champion: Thatstoobad (Nashville Predators)

Yes we are playing our game at 1 p.m. CST tomorrow. For everyone else, check my User Availability on my 2K rating to see times we can schedule a game. It's up to date.

Cheapy, I can do early morning stuff for you because of the time difference as long as our game gets done before 10:30 a.m. CST. Just PM me when our game comes up.

Also, does anyone want to do an NBA 2K7 league? I can't seem to find a league that stays together for longer than 1 game.

i'm playing my first game this afternoon, but i've never been in a league before.

how does it setup the game? do i just login to the league? and everything is automatic?
 
My advise would be:

From the main 2K7 menu go to Xbox Live, log in w/ your profile, go to My Leagues, select the CAG League, enter the league lobby and wait for your opponent to challenge you there.

here's a quick update on the games that have been played thus far

nashville defeats chicago: 5-1
st. louis defeats ottawa: 6-5
philadelphia over calgary: 10-1 (!!!)
buffalo defeats washington: 5-1
columbus defeats pittsburgh: 3-2
anaheim defeats atlanta: 3-2 (if sighlintbob and outrage don't get a chance to replay the game, that is)

hopefully the colorado/carolina game can get done tomorrow, since it is the last day for week one.

I'm anxious as I haven't played 2k7 in almost near a month outside of checking the leader boards (Funny the #1 player in the world has the name of Canadiansareturds) but if Cheapy D plays like that I'll be putting in some practice before I face him.

you have been reinviteded!

you'll have to log into the league site (http://online.2ksports.com/league/?p=360&l=65642), and you should have a message inviting you back into the league. i'm not sure, but you may have to go to the "online home" section, which you can get to from the red button bar just below the 2k Sports Online graphic.

if there's a problem, let me know.

Yeah defense is key in this game when people aren't abusing certain exploits that the creators have seemed to neglect fixing over the years. I felt we both played fair and I was honored to have a opponent that didn't give up or even skip the long intro :) So it was fun and I look forward to playing with you again in the future.

Don't worry...I haven't been practicing, I think I just got lucky (and my opponent was a self-proclaimed noob).

BTW, I just realized our league logo has the wrong year!

Also, we have an accepted trade awaiting admin approval.
 
So we're only missing one game to be played? That's pretty damn good considering 2k6's league where alot of people weren't playing at all... was really annoying. Wasn't the league creators fault though.
 
The announcers always make me laugh. "He shits, he scores!" That's what it soundsd like anyway.

Are the online settings separate from the offline player settings? Is there auto aim in this game? It seemed like my shots were on auto aim. Bah. I'm missing the skill stick. I need plenty of practice if I'm gonna win one game here. Haha.

i'll change the league logo thing at some point. i'll just take the year out, that seems easier.

i approved your trade, by the way. it would be nice if the website notfied me when there's a trade or something else that needs to be approved/taken care of/whatever.

it sounds like most of the commentary is the same from last year's game. of course they made sure to add in the "dodge hit of the game".

as far as the settings, at the player match up screen, press up or down on the right thumbstick, and you should see the name of the profile change on your controller, which should give you the settings you use offline. if that doesn't work, you have to manually change them in game.
 
Wow, sighlintbob and I just had an awesome game. He was ahead by 3 going into the 3rd, and I came back and tied it up. It ended up going into overtime and then a shootout where it took about 8 shooters each until he ended up winning. Great, great game and I look forward to the rematch.

i haven't tried editing my lines online yet, so i can't comment on it.

Cheapy and I just played our week 2 game. Ended up going into a shootout again, which makes 2 for me now. Any possibility of making the overtime period longer? Like 10 minutes instead of 5?

nice job to both of you guys for getting your game in so quickly. equally nice job to you for knocking off cheapy after that monster win.

i just checked and actually i can change the overtime length to 10 minutes. it sounds like a decent idea, since the period must fly by in like, a minute and a half or so. if anyone has any problem with the change, let us know, otherwise i'll alter it for next week's round of games.

Thanks. It was a very close game and I got lucky with a last second goal at the end of the 3rd to tie it up.

Yeah, it flies by very fast. 15 minutes might be an even better idea if that's an option. But if you think that's too much, 10's fine with me.

Sorry I havent responded, I am never on XBL to look for messages only to play my league games and really nothing else. Best way to contact me is via a PM here or just post in this thread. That being said I am available most weekdays after 4:15 PM E.S.T. and I am pretty free on the weekends, just check my on-line status to the left if I am on-line send me a PM and we will play.
 
i think 10 minute overtimes will be good. i can only go from 10 to 20 minutes, and overtime shouldn't be a complete period, i don't think.

Senators defeat the Avalanche 5-2.

Good game Amicus. That was one of the more amusing games I've played in a while despite the blowout. Big hits, shots off the post, and a goofy goalie that decided to skate to the bench in the middle of the scrum. Hilarious. The 3rd period was a blast, too. Though there was, I think, only one goal scored, the pace was great. Back and forth from one end to the other and some big hits at center ice sprinkled in.

and ur goalie waltzing away in the middle of the game. hate when u accidently select the goalie.

gg.[/quote]Haha...what's the button combo anyway to select the goalie? I was looking at him live as the play was going though and it didn't have a cursor around him so I didn't think I was controlling him. Hilarious either way.

And for the none goal off the post, I muttered "unbelievable" as well. Good game.
 
Monsta Mack, when you can you play? I updated my schedule on the 2ksports website, but I can basically play on weekdays after 6:30, but preferably after 10:00. I can also play on the weekend as long as nothing else is going on. Just post when you can play and we'll work something out. Maybe we'll even catch each other on live.
 
Sorry about that. I sent you msgs over Live not here. Anyways great game, silenced by the silencer 4-2 and you really knew my offensive plan and stopped 99% of my chances. Amazingly we had the same amount of shots at the end of the game, my goalie came up pretty big to. Look forward to another match in the future :)

my game is in...got smacked around by the Preds....stupid team couldn't stay out of the penalty box...even with roughness turned all the way down...I took 2 myself, but the computer was the other 6....

Ha. That was hardly a silencing giving up 50 shots on goal. Ryan Miller just got hot early and kept me in the game. I really enjoyed the game. You'll do just fine in the league. Very solid D. I think the computer AI got you in more trouble than anything else.
 
scp89 played really well in our game today. really solid defense. if it wasn't for the computer giving him so many penalties, the game probably would have looked a lot different. i had three power play goals (a pair from two man advantages), and that was really the difference maker.

earlier this afternoon, i played a few games online against random people, and it sucked. a lot. it was like constant one timers and defensively nothing more than an all out dive-fest. i won one of the two games i played, and received a negative feedback for my efforts. shit's lame. anyways, it's cool that there's this league, so i can play online without having to deal with the douchebaggery.
 
quick note to CheapyD (who I play in week3)...I tried adding you to my Friends list but it says yours is full....if you get a chance add me to your friends (PrineTime 360 is my xbl)
