CAGHL 2k7 - League Champion: Thatstoobad (Nashville Predators)

What can we do if we can't get our game in? I've sent 5 PM's here since Thursday and multiple messages on XBox Live and my opponent doesn't respond unless I'm away from my computer or playing WoW. I can't be on CAG 24/7 to wait for a response.

Since I got home from work today I have refreshed CAG every commercial break during the championship games and no response to the PM I sent last night. I work 11-5 CST tomorrow and my opponent is leaving Monday for the NHL All-Star game. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you may only get PMs from him when you are busy, but the same could be said of when he receives PMs from you (maybe, at least, since i don't really know). you have obviously communicated with him somewhat, since you know he's leaving tomorrow, so you guys probably should have scheduled a game time before now, instead of just hoping to catch each other online at the same time. that stuff doesn't usually work.

either way, if he's leaving tomorrow, that's a good chunk of the playing week that's disappearing, so i'd be inclined to give you the win for your game.

Week 2 game with MSUHitman is in 3-0 win for the Pens with M.A.F. standing on his head in goal stopping all 55 shots he faced.

Anyone having problems with there game discs. I was trying to practice over the weekend and start a season but I kept getting disc read errors when ever I tried to start a franchise game.

I played some quick games but could not get a franchise game started. The disc is in perfect shape so I'm not sure what the problem is and I played a bunch of other games this weekend with out any problems.

Might I have a bad disc?

you may. i've been playing through franchise mode and haven't encountered any problems. i would try to exchange the disc if possible.

Just a heads up possibly to you guys and a question: Anyone else getting black rectangles showing up in the top right corner of their screen only during the faceoffs at the start of each period? It worries me a bit since I've never noticed it before. Unfortunately, I've had this game for ages and bought it online, so I can't swap discs and I'm uncertain whether it is actually the disc itself or the console *knock on wood* that it isn't.

Have you tried holding "A" while waiting on the game to load. I heard that clears the cache and can keep games from getting disc errors. I startiing doing that with Madden and haven't had a problem since, but it could just be coincidence. It's listed in one of the official help threads, but I don't have a link.

since the last game can't get played, i advanced the schedule early. if you notice, you still have through 02/02 to get your games in, which is how long you would have had if i waited until tomorrow to advance the schedule.

I'm working 12-9 Saturday. So my availability is...

Tonight: Now to 1am Eastern
Saturday: 11pm-1am or so
Sunday: 10am-4pm 9pm-11:30pm Eastern.

I haven't decided the rest of the weeks availability, but will work something out if we can't get a game in over the weekend or tonight.

:) Well I don't mind losing, but winning the league achivement would be REALLY nice. I think theres gonna be some tough opponents for me down the road, especially since I've been playing my DS alot lately, Wii and too much Rainbow Six. I'm rusty as hell, and last years version I put in over 200+ games online, only about 30 or so this year.
 
Well that was embarassing.

14-1 ass kicking to the Stanley Cup champs. My goalies never got off the bus giving up 8 consectutive goals stick side low.

In retrospect Washington may not have been the best choice for a team.

Oh yeah Jagr69 is really good.

Your goalie should be fired. Every rebound was pretty fat. One timers went pretty well, but the rebounds were the reason for all the goals, and occasional breakaway.

I enjoyed the game regardless, you'll do fine in the future.

Me and OuTrAgE(Ducks Owner) played our game yesterday afternoon but it did not seem to register. It ended up as a 3-2 win for the Penguins, M.A.F. stood on his head again making 71 saves.

How the heck do you check people's game availability in this game? I put the game in last night and fiddled about in the Live League page of the game and all I could find was people's stats and feedback ratings. I couldn't even find how to set up "My Availability" like there is in NBA 2K7.

i have no idea.

i've never entered any information about when i'm available into the game (i didn't know you could). i just send my opponent a PM with my availability for the coming week and hope that he finds a time that coincides with his. it's worked thus far.
 
Then I wonder why that feature is even in the game. If you go to your 2K Sports Gamercard when online in a 2K Sports Game, there is a section called My Availability that you're supposed to use to put in when you can be reached for a game. It's even an achievement to set it up ;)

Edit: OK I think the thing I setup is just when you're browsing on the game when in the XBox Live section on 2K Sports games. I found a section on the website under my profile that I updated that claims it shows to others when you're eligible to play. So apparently there is something to fill out in game on your 2K Sports Gamercard and there is a seperate thing to fill out on your profile on the 2K Sports website. Sorry about that.

Sorry about that.[/quote]Yeah, I've seen the scheduling you can set up in College Hoops 2K7 and NBA 2K7. I wasn't able to find it in NHL 2K7 though. And I couldn't find any way to access a person's availabilty card in NHL. All I could pull up was the person's records and game ratings. I'm sure someone knows where it's hidden.
 
CheapyD beat me 2 to 1 on a late 3rd period goal....

now for the even worse news...my 360 was crashing before game, then I got it to work, but now it craps out with the HD attached...I'm gonna try the HD cache clear trick, but I'm betting its hosed... ;(
 
MSU's Blues beat the Avs 1-0 in a shootout (is that how you report a shootout score?). Went all the way to the 7th or 8th skater I think. My bid to be the Oakland Raiders of this league took a bit of a hit though as I got it to OT and got one point for my futility. Damn...next to last behind of Washington.

BTW, sorry I couldn't use my mic. I was on the phone. Good game.

If you keep playing this game you'll get better. Just looking at your Gamerscore your gonna be real good at NHL someday.
 
Yeah good game I kept wondering if I was ever going to score and finally broke through right before the horn for the end of 2nd period. Score was 3-2 after the shootout.

The problem is ever since 2K6, I've only been playing league games and no offline games at all. As they say, practice makes perfect. I spent most of the game last night trying to figure out how to do icon-switching on defense. It's as if, every league game, I'm trying to figure out some basic gameplay control mechanic. The previous game I was trying to figure out how to get down to block a shot. At least the two goals I got this time I worked for and weren't of the one-timer variety. That was satisfying.

you guys are awesome. i don't remember ever advancing the schedule early last year, but after today, i'll have already done it twice this year.

i remember SteveMcQ did pretty well in the past couple leagues. so once he figures out which button you press to shoot, we'll probably be in for it.

Thanks Silencer, sorry I couldn't play last night. I was playing like 20+ of my regular season games (trying to finish up a season and win the cup), and before I knew it It was midnight and I was really beat. So I had to sleep. I'll be on and off the next few days, and if you wanna throw down some matchs or some Rainbow Six or any other games lemme know.
 
I got screwed yesterday. We experienced some really bad lag when we were playing yesterday so we aborted the 1st game and tried again. Then I got a DDE during the middle of the 2nd game. I was winning both times too and I get the lose. Sucks but I guess I'll just move on then.

You know what else sucks is that fact this is a brand new copy of the game. I was having major Dirty Disc Errors with my previous copy when I tried to start a franchise. So I called my local GS and they said they would return it for me for a new copy. Everything seemed to work fine then all of the sudden DDE again.

I have this problem every year with 2K Hockey games. I had it last year too! It is really frustrating. Hopefully I will have no issues when I play against Cheapy.
 
I played my game with Amicus earlier this afternoon. He was leading 1-0 going into the third, but I managed to put a rebound in to tie the game. It ended up going to a shootout, which had to go to extra skaters, but I was lucky enough to come away with the win.

I'm sorry, I didn't know that you guys had the game end early like that. If I had known, I would have waited on advancing the schedul. Since I already played my game with Amicus for this week, I'd prefer not to set the schedule back. Sorry again.
