No, not unless they get called up in real life.

The other issue is injuries and if they get called down. Do we want to be able to make our own rotations or use the ones that are in the roster updates?
 
damn...I can't believe I missed out on this league. Well, I started a thread for a 2.0 league if there are enough interested people. Check it out if anyone wants to get another league going. Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread. Just want to play some baseball!
 
I guess I'm in no rush for people to join so the league will be full now since I'll be out of town for the 1st round of the tournament in Birmingham til saturday.

I picked the Baltimore Orioles (fan of them being my local team), but when I went to select them in the league registration process, I didn't realize they had like the worst stats (their bars were so so short...), so combine that with the fact that I am a total noob at baseball games, and this should be a great league for me, lol. But oh well, it's all about having fun and just playing anyways :)
 
If we don't hear a response from these last 4 soon how about we invite those 3 or 4 guys who were looking to form a second league?
 
Yeah, sorry guys for the delay. Two of the remaining guys are gumming up the works by not responding to any of my PMs, so I'll have to kick them out. I was thinking of another alternative to the finding two more people would be to just abort the league and create a 14 team league with everybody that's here, but I can send a PM to the two guys that PM'd me before about joining if people dropped out before that becomes an option.

Just invite 4 other people. If it's taking them this long just to click and join the damn league, what do you think they are going to do when you actually have to play games?:roll:
 
They weren't invited and I'm not punishing two innocent people for the crap the other two are pulling. All we need are two more CAGs and I've sent PMs to them, so we'll see if they want to join.
 
I accepted my invite and joined the Wombat division (didn't see any instructions on which division to join and they were both the same size, but if I picked incorrectly let me know and I'll change). I really wanted to pick my beloved Washington Nationals, but unfortunately, they suck (at least in this game, I think they're going to be surprisingly solid, around 78-80 wins, but the player ratings suggest The Show disagrees). So I am going to be the San Diego Fathers.

You sent out invites to two others who were interested??? I only started the thread to try to gauge interest for a second league. What the fuck man?? Thanks for considering me, asshat. Like it would seriously be that difficult to find other people interested in joining.

And as far as two "innocent" people being kicked out, how long ago was their invite sent out? I'm guessing at least a week. If they can't check on the league once a week, how the fuck are they going to participate in it? Way to run things Selig Jr.

Woah, woah, woah. I didn't even see the other thread and didn't know you were still interested in joining this league. I'm sorry I didn't see you were interested, as I went with two who had recently contacted me about joining if somebody dropped. I didn't know there was anybody that was emotionally invested in joining this specific league enough to get this angry.

I have a feeling that there's a misunderstanding about what I was saying. There are two people that weren't responding to PMs and two that were, but the latter two's invites were dependant upon the former, so they were getting a raw deal and I kicked the former two and sent invites to the latter two this afternoon. I'm sorry I haven't run this league perfectly and with the utmost efficiency, but I've apologized to everybody involved at every step and they've been good enough to stick around and still be enthusiastic about finally starting this soon. If this is how you're going to act if another spot still remains, I'm sure not going to ask you to join now because of your attitude. Good luck with your league, but please stay away from this one.

LOL...whatever you say man. It's not that I'm "emotionally invested" in joining this league, but year after year, I get excited about FINALLY being in a league that won't fall apart one game into the season (if it even makes it that far). And year after year, it's a joke.

Your league would honestly be better off full of players like me who actually give a crap whether it gets off the ground or not. I know there's no perfect science of gauging people's interest, but it's just shitty when people "sign up" for something, but don't follow through with it. I know an online league isn't anything THAT serious, but it has to be taken a little seriously, or it's never going to work. I mean, there is a commitment to the other guys in the league. Some people don't get that.

But whatever man, if you don't want me to play because of my "attitude" that's fine. But it's beyond ignorant to claim you "didn't know" that I started a thread about another league. I only posted about it on this very same page. It's the 2nd post on the page...right below your post... :roll:

I honestly didn't see your post before you started throwing insults my way. I've been busy this week with both this league and the March Madness contest I've been running, so I hadn't read every post in this thread. Reading that post now doesn't really tell me that you want in if somebody drops, but that you've moved on to working on your league. Nothing personal, but that's just the first impression I got from it.

I know. I wanted to wait until the morning so I know I'm activating it on Tuesday rather than at nearly midnight.

MSU, there's no options to change rosters until a game and even then, it's probably the same as playing a normal online game.

Edit: It's been activated and the schedules are up in the OP now.
 
All I have to say is, thanks for putting me up against the best pitcher in the game first week. I haven't even played any single player games yet, addicted to RTTS. Guess I better get used to the new base running and other crap that will ultimately confuse the crap out of me.
 
Anyone know if all the individual player stats will be tracked online by sports connect?

runpuddrun, I believe the schedule was generated and not hand picked.

also, with my rotation my 1-3 pitchers are a lock but I'm not 100% sure who my number 4 and 5 guys will be. When do I need to let you know on that?
 
Yep, schedules are picked randomly when the league's activated.

Raw, try it get it in by the end of the week, but you can change it if your roster changes with the weekly updates.

dude... I haven't played an online game yet at all, so since you haven't even played a single player game, I won't play an online game before we play... because I was going to play some to practice... but I wanna be fair so I'll wait...

I was going to ask about this. We CAN change our rotation if a new update comes out?

Also, does anyone know if we can play weeks out of order if we see someone online? Example: We are currently in week 1. If I see that my week 3 opponent is online and we want to play, will it let us go ahead and play that league game?
 
I'm not for sure if everyone knows, but the first week ends on Apr 01, 2008 at 11:37 AM.

Almost forgot, good game GiantYankee. It got a little laggy there towards the end, but overall it was a fun game.

The fact that I haven't' played a single player game and only RTTS is compounded by the fact that I have only had my PS3 for a little over 1 week now, so learning the controls, mainly base running is going to be fun.

This game is awesome though, I love RTTS mode.

DestroVega, when do you want to play? Friday night works for me. I work until 10 CST, but after that anytime is good for me. Sunday would also work, later on in the day, but friday works best this week.
 
Ryno, I have an indoor soccer game today at 7pm central time, anytime so anytime before 6pm central today I am free. This weekend I am free during the days but I go out pretty much every night during the weekends. Next week I am pretty much free all week so pick a time and more than likley I can do it.

Friday is probably no good for me. I have an old friend visiting and will probably be intoxicated... plus I doubt he wants to watch me play a game for an hour...

Anytime Sunday is good for me though... or anytime tonight actually. Either way.
 
Supreme and I finished our game tonight. He won like 9-7, or something like that. I had a few exciting innings where I was possibly starting to mount a comeback. It was my first online game, and it was full of lag, so that was pretty hard to get over. Also, Supreme should get bonus points, he hit a home run off of the right foul pole in Camden Yards :lol:
 
Guys I don't think I can stand 15 games with this lag, it's nuts. How some of you are scoring over 5 runs with this is insane. I can't see any of the pitches, and the game keeps hiccupping, and when I get a rally going in the 9th inning it drops the connection. I have a 3 down/512 up connection and have absolutely no lag on anything with the 360 (this is the only game I play online on the PS3.) I do have a Netgear wireless router but like I said no lag at all on any 360 games, Halo, CoD, etc.

Rock, I'm sorry I was trying to hit the corners but some of those pitches just went wild because I couldn't hit anything on the meter because of the lag. Props to you as well for hitting a homer off the foul pole.

I'll give it one more game but if it's laggy too I may just drop out. It's nothing to do with any of you, I just refuse to put myself through this when I don't have the problem on the 360, just like what happened with Warhawk in Sept. I'll keep the game but I'll only play single player until this mess gets cleared up, if ever.

Yea, the lag was horrible. Is anyone else experiencing it or is just me and Hitman? I have the same situation as Hitman. Play on my 360 and have no problems online what so ever and played Warhawk and Resistance also with no problems.

GG Hitman, I got very lucky with that Ortiz home run.

I used to have lag issues. I had a friend suggest turning fast play on. It takes out the cutscenes. Most people just hit X through them anyway. It might not actually do much, but I've noticed it improved my lag issues somewhat.

I've had this same problem for the last 3 years with "The Show". I had 06 and 07 on PS2, but it was the ONLY game that gave me hell getting/staying connected to the servers. I don't know what the fuck kind of chinese web server SCEA uses, but it's flat out terrible.

With 06, you had to freakin forward ports on your router and do all kinds of tricks to get it to connect. It seriously boggles my mind that they can't use the same simple formula that every other game uses. It would be easy to make this a Live vs. PSN (subscription vs. free) issue, but it's just this damn game. You'd think they would have figured it out by now.
 
Hey I play, bt too late to join league. If anyone wants to add me I can play. I think playing people from cag is better for lag issues since I've read that you guys seem to get by okay with the lag. Some games I swear the guy playing me must be 100 meters from his router or something.
