CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!
anyway i can get in today so i will be able to resign my players or possible trade...and most importantly see my team!...haha
I hate to say this, but there's no chance of that happening. Nate has to invite you from the Xbox, as you can't do it from the website. He's on vacation till the end if the week. I am sure he'll get you set up then.

alright that's no problem..was just hoping to see my team...i only know a couple people on it from billy...i didnt know if he could do that from the website or not
alright that's no problem..was just hoping to see my team...i only know a couple people on it from billy...i didnt know if he could do that from the website or not
PM me a reminder and I will type out the OVRs of you players at each position when I get a chance. Not going to do individual ratings, but the OVRs should help you get an idea.
Take stafford and suh off my hands
whats suh overall/age same with stafford....and what are you looking to get for them

I'll post those as soon as I get home, and I am not looking for much in return.

Last year Stafford was at 99THP, 96 DAC, 92 MAC, 91 SAC. I don't know if he lost a few points anywhere, but I have 40k XP on him.
Currently have under a mil in cap room :\ Hope that goes up a lot when these guys leave.
I'm pretty sure the number your cap room is currently at will be the same number once we advance. Guys you choose not to re-sign should already be off the books because they don't have a contract. I could be wrong, but I "released" one or two of my guys I wasn't going to re-sign to see if my cap room would change and it stayed the same. You will probably have to release some guys so you have cap space to sign a full team unless you can get to a 53 man roster using only the draft.

Oh no I accidentally released almost all my top players!!! Bowe, Newton, Willis, and more, my team is ruined!!! If only we would have advanced by now this may have not happened...

Lol what?

Stafford's updated stats are better than previously posted: THP 99 SAC 91 MAC 96 DAC 95. 35,066 XP, 7.6 to raise SAC 8.6 to raise MAC 8.9k to raise DAC. Shit I didn't realize I got him into such a beast. No clue what his overall is because who gives a fuck when he has those stats.

Suh: 97 strength, 92 power moves, 99 blockshed, 96 pursuit, 90 play recognition, 87 tackle, 97 power, 88 acceleration, 86 awareness, 99 stamina and toughness, 93 injury. 28,097 xp.
Lol what?
I wasn't thinking and I was looking at how much Id save if I cut them. I had been accepting to cut them instead of cancel it. My team is ruined!!!

Are you serious? I thought you were joking. If true, that really sucks.

It doesn't look like you really did though, as they are still on your team.

I hate this game!!!
So are we waiting to advance until friday or will he advance from the site sooner?
The sky is falling, the sky is falling

All right, here's the situation, guys. The website is giving me a bitch of a time. Basically, the only thing it's letting me do on this connection (at least I'm assuming it will even allow this) is to advance the week. I haven't been able to offer my guys contracts or anything. Every time I try, I can't get the contract info to load for the players that are free agents. I also can't franchise tag or anything.

So, we can either wait until I get home on Friday to proceed further. OR, I can advance you guys and let somebody take over for me the rest of the way...because without free agency my team is pretty much dead. Honestly, I'm fine either way. It's not like my run to finish last season was incredibly strong anyway. So, whatever the majority wants, that's what we can do. Sorry about this. I really was hoping it wouldn't be this huge of a pain in the ass. If EA had ever released that mobile app that they bragged about back when they were trying to sell the game, it probably would have gone a lot smoother.

I am for advancing. I wish you were able to manage your team from the website. If it was just the time that has already passed then maybe, but with the playoffs already taking a long time I came to this decision.

Do you have have a lot of players to resign? I mean, if we're talking huge names, then I suppose we can wait. However, if no one is over like an 83 OVR, I see no reason to wait.

Are you volunteering to take over the league then? Probably should figure that out first.
Are you volunteering to take over the league then? Probably should figure that out first.
I mean if you want to use that as leverage against not advancing then yes I'd he willing to take over.

It's not just the resign I'm concerned with. If I'm not available to improve my team through open free agency, the season would just hold little promise. And that would pretty much do it for me with Madden 13

Wow...you're going to be that kind of asshole? It's not about leverage. It's just really easy to piss and moan and bitch when you don't have to do jack shit to keep the league going. If you've got issues, man the fuck up and say you're willing to put in the effort to take over. Otherwise, keep the smartass comments to yourself.

if someone new took over i would say i would nominate
Pitfall (even put u on top lol) ;)
Kaster
Blade
Troy

I've said for a long time I'd be willing to help or take over so don't act like this is something new. You called me out and appeared like that was trying to back me down from my stance.

Let's not do this, guys. Seriously. Let's find a resolution, not an argument.

I purpose that we advance every two days(or so). (Tonight, Wednesday, and Saturday, then draft on Sunday) This would allow all of us to start making bids, and allow Nate some time on Friday/Saturday to make free agent offers before it ends. Very few sign before the last week anyway.

Just a suggestion. Any thoughts?

If we do it now, n8 doesn't get a chance at free agents, and the new Rams owner won't get a chance. I'm fine with waiting until Friday. It's not the end of the fucking world.

And seriously, DVO? After one tiny argument, you really moved that fast to start nominating possible commissioners? And ice cold not to put me on that list. lol

We could also give Nate exclusive rights to the guys on his team that he hasnt been able to resign (I think he said Locker, Washington, and a couple others were up for FA).

I also feel like we should have a discussion about FA itself...I'm a little worried that with next season likely being the last we're going to see teams with tons of cap room throw a lot of money at some of the top FA's to get them signed to one-year deals. I'm not really sure how we'd regulate or anything, but I do think its worth addressing a little bit. Or maybe its just me.

couldnt the rams join by searching for the league and evtering a password? also for n8's situation make a list of everyone on his team that has 1 year left then go thru FA's see who actually left his team post a list of people we cant bid on until n8 comes back and gets a chance to place bids. and go by the schedule that Dark Rider proposed. seems like a fair met in the middle kinda of deal. then we can keep the advacements moving keeping people happy and keep things moving and n8's team wont be screwed once he returns

I agree with pitfallharry. It's not the end of the world if we wait. Nate is on vacation. It is what it is. Let him have a vacation! If ut were me, i wouldn't even bother posting on the forum. I'd just say "I'm not available and we'll advance when i get back."

Just put this league on the back burner until Friday. It's what's fair to Nate and fair to new owner(s) who aren't yet invited.

Oh lawsy I'm flattered but I'm way too busy. I think Nate is an excellent commissioner.

I'm in the not advancing camp as well. Even if we started FA now that's like, what, 30 more minutes of your day for free agency? Let's wait it out.
talks died off quick in here
Who else do you think could take over? What would you do first if you were appointed the new commissioner?

I don't see how you would regulate that either. Since all the contracts are backloaded, you could give a 6 year $100M deal just to assure you get a guy. It doesn't matter if that would ruin your team after this season because there likely won't be a 4th season. I do see the problem, but I don't think anything else can be done about it except what has already been done on restricting the number of contract years to the amount desired by the player.

I would say teams with the most cap room would be in a good position to get these guys in a normal year, so it's not that much different. I think good salary management should be rewarded. Owners with a lot of cap room have earned the right to use that money.
Who else do you think could take over? What would you do first if you were appointed the new commissioner?
lol well see if there was a way to get the rams new owner in the league via league search and entering a password if that was possible then get him in there asap then advance. then from there get together with the committee and build an offseason schedule together that best fits the leauge. also if n8 did leave i guess find a replacement owner for the titans as well.

Yeah, backloading is a concern too. Good salary management should be rewarded, I just dont want to see 1 year 20 million deals on some players.
Yeah, backloading is a concern too. Good salary management should be rewarded, I just dont want to see 1 year 20 million deals on some players.
You think they would take that over a 5 year 100 million deal?
Yeah, backloading is a concern too. Good salary management should be rewarded, I just dont want to see 1 year 20 million deals on some players.
That's already not allowed. You have to offer them the number of years they ask for. I don't recall any players worth naming asking for a 1 year deal last offseason.

it could be an easy fix but maybe not one people would like and everyone would have to take 2 different views.
the fix would be regulate how many years can be offer considering this is more than likely the last year of the league we could make the max offer of years be 2 years in case we do go another season they would still have thoughs players signed.

the other mess it would cause is people with little cap space that need to backload offer to be able to get there team rosters back to 53 players or as close as they can get it. unless of course the 53 man roster rule was gone which then we could do the 2 year max offer deal to FA's
You think they would take that over a 5 year 100 million deal?
When it comes to Madden logic...I assume nothing.

Ah okay. I remembered it being that you couldnt offer over the maximum number of years they asked for, but nothing about a minimum. Thats much better then.
