CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!

The previous Dolphins owner ended negotiations with some key free agents before I took over the team, so now I can't re-sign a bunch of starters. Thanks, asshole. I wish I had known that before I chose Miami.

Any of you guys play fantasy baseball? We've got a CAG league going that has been running for several years now, and we need at least two more teams. We're at 8 now. We usually run with 12, but a few guys haven't rejoined this year. It's Yahoo H2H. The draft is at 7 EST tonight.
 
hey im billymcdugals friend...the one he had asked you guys about for joining your league..today was the first day i have been able to post. i was wondering what i would need to do to join your league..thank you very much in advance

No, it's head to head. Maybe you haven't played that type before. Here are the specifics:

Roster Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, Util, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL

Batters Stat Categories: Runs (R), Hits (H), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Batting Average (AVG)

Pitchers Stat Categories: Wins (W), Complete Games (CG), Shutouts (SHO), Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP)
 
right on...ive been reading the post for the last couple days and noticed you guys just got to the off season. i was just wondering if you still had an open team for this season and what team/teams are avaliable

i didnt know if anyone wanted to scrimage me to see if im up to par for the league..that way i could get in tonight if im good enough and follow the rules so i can check my team out and do the resigning and stuff instead of the computer
 
i havent been able to read the thread much lately but apparently im at -2.7 mil in cap room. Which is killing me apparently cause i cant resign anyone

Aren't those guys contracts up because the previous owner released them and they were only signed back to a 1 year deal? If you already re-signed them and are now trying to trade them, that will probably give you a large cap penalty that would negate the cap space you would free by trading them.

I would go to your Team Salaries page, scroll over to Cut Savings, press X to sort, then try to find expendable players. Try to find guys without bonus money so you don't get hit with a cap penalty when you trade/release.

Looking at your salary page, you could free an easy $4M by releasing your backup LT Demetress Bell. Releasing DT Mike Patterson would free another $3M. That would be a good start. If you still need cap relief, you have players you could easily trade. Not sure when trades open up. Game will not let you right now.

so after playing tiger in 2 online matches i feel like hes a good fit for the league. one game i beat him the other he beat me. i didnt see anything wrong with his playing style from what he showed me both games were enjoyable and we were on the mic as well seems like a good dude
 
i'm a little confused by the re-sign players part. it says that they have a 2014 cap hit, so theyre signed through next year just the game is trying to ink them to long term?

No. If they are in your re-sign players screen, their contract is up. Mark Sanchez and others showed a 2014 cap hit for me, even though they were only signed to 1 year deals. They should disappear from your salary page once we advance to free agency unless you re-sign them during this period.

i havent heard anything about it i was on madden a little bit ago and we hadnt advanced yet that was about 20 minutes ago. im not worried about it at this point. with both leagues being in the off season my biggest worry is draft day being the same day lol

Damn, Seahawks are losing a lot of good players this year. Chancellor is a possibility, Browner hates me and didn't take my money, Golden Tate is gone, backup TEs are both gone (Ballard and McCoy)...there might be others not listed in the current re-sign interface, because I thought I was losing a WR too. Also losing a starting OLineman or two but they suck so that's intended. Currently have under a mil in cap room :\ Hope that goes up a lot when these guys leave.

Browner and Chancellor (if he leaves) will hurt the most. D is the only thing going for this team.

Did we advance? I have been on the road for work and didn't really care who I lost, but I'm going to be home in about 15 minutes so if we waited this long I'm sure another half hour can't hurt to help me out :)

Anyone want Stafford? Currently holds the NFL passer record and has pretty nice stats last time I checked. Don't know if he lost anything in terms of accuracy this year when we started the offseason.
 
Maclin is gone... he wants like 12mil. No way i can do that. Also anyone interested in Asoumgha let me know, i'm looking to offload some cap and possibly get a cheaper option at CB

When we advance we will start the free agency bidding phase. There are three weeks where free agents can be competed for. Most free agents will sign at the end of the three weeks, some will sign when we advance each of the weeks. After FA there will be a "Scouting" period, then another week for the draft.
