After much debate...I've decided to throw JJ WATT on the trade block! He is an 88 OVR and I am looking for a top tier receiver.

I'm open to anything! :)

WTF...I think Will Witherspoon retired on me without the game making any note of it at all. He's just all of a sudden not on my roster anymore. I can't find any news story or anything about it. What in the hell, EA?

I read the rules on the front page, but just so I'm clear it's okay to have TEs at HB or WR if I don't have any more players at that position above them right? I'm hoping to fix this by the draft, but right now I don't have enough players at some of my positions to not have this issue.

No major free agents so far, but I have added some depth so hopefully I can make this team halfway decent. I'm debating on trading out of the #2 spot for depth or maybe I need playmakers more than depth. Not sure yet.

Well, you'll still need to be carrying 53 players once the regular season starts. So, it's not an excuse to have like 9 LBs and only 4 receivers or something. That exception was meant more to help when players get injured and whatnot. I won't say that you have to fill EVERY spot on your depth chart (ie. if you want to carry 2 QBs, 3 RBs, etc. that's your choice). But if you have a TE as your #3 receiver, something is wrong.

Compared to guys like Gonzalez and Seymour? No. I had Matt Birk retire on me and didn't get a story. I believe he was over 90 OVR. You generally only get a news headline or twitter comment for star players. That is all I was saying.

The game used to have a transaction log that showed retirements, trades, signings, releases, etc. Things would be easier to keep track of if that was still in the game. If you have an older player, don't just expect him to be back. I honestly think Reed will retire on me like Ray did. Ray waited until the final week of free agency, then left me. Better to have it happen sooner in the offseason rather than later.

Or they could just use the "my news" section properly. Mine has one story in it...which is Chris Johnson winning AFC OPOtY from last season. You realize continuing this discussion leads to you defending EA's horrible game design right? lol. I wasn't expecting huge grandeur over a mid 80s LB retiring. But informing me of it would have at least been helpful.

Maybe if he was 99 OVR like he is in the current roster update you would have better luck. I threw 91 OVR Marshall Yanda and 98 OVR Terrell Suggs out there and didn't get a single message about either. Oh well.
 
In other news, I wish I had played my rookies more at the end of last season. I foolishly just kept trying for a playoff spot, but it would have been much smarter to give them some development time. I've got a few guys with good base numbers, who have bad play recognition, awareness, etc. I'd really considering starting a few of them if I didn't think they'd turn away from the ball and fall down most of the time.

I must not understand what you're talking about. I thought you were talking about the news section that has all the college player stories, major signings/retirements, etc. I wasn't aware of a section that just showed your personal team news. Like I said, they used to have a transaction log showing all that stuff. I have no idea why they took that out of the game. Definitely not defending EA. I have a lot of problems with Connected Careers.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me with Ryan Pickett and Dallas Clark. You'd think your pro bowl TE retiring would be worth a note somewhere in the game but nope! Just a sudden hole in your roster.

In other news, Bucs are putting the 10th overall pick on the block. Looking for either a solid WR or CB or trading up into a top 5 pick in a package deal. Roster-wise I'm willing to listen to offers on just about anybody (including Ray Rice)

From that section, hold the LT, and you can scroll through "league news", "my news", etc. That would have been a good place to put it (though, I agree...a simple "transactions" page would have sufficed as well). That said, I expect zero improvements on this front for next year, haha.

The only good WR I have is Nicks and I cant afford to lose him, I have draft picks tho. Not willing to give up my number 4 overall pick either lol. Maybe im not the best trade partner but let me know

anyone know how to send trades thru the EA website?

for some reason the game is messing up the bengals/49ers trade we have tried multiple times not sure why it isnt working we both have the cap space open for the trade to work . so we want to try it thru the website

Do you notice your cap space changing when you attempt to make the trade?

When I was making a trade during the offseason in the other league - I noticed when I traded away Miles Austin he showed up in my depth chart still but my cap space improved (taking his cap space cost away) and the other person didn't get Austin. When we advanced he got Austin and he was out of my depth chart.

In short - you may need to wait until we advance. :p

Find a player on the 49ers trade block (Like if Moss is listed as tradeable, you scroll down to the list of available players and choose trade from the dropdown). Open the player's page and in the upper-right hand corner select trade under player actions. Once there you can pick any player you want from either side and submit the trade that way.

You can't spell easy without EA!
 
we sent the trade and it does nothnig on either side. it doesnt say trade accepted or anything did it do that for u as well superstar?

On my side of things it always showed the trade even when I accepted it. It was stupid. When he proposed a new trade it would just stack lol, so eventually I had 3-4 of them until we decided to wait until we advanced.

we have sent a ton of trades both accepting them and nothing happened. i sent it and he told me he accepted it but it doesnt show anything on his screen and mine stays the same. completely.
my salary and his salary are still the same and the pick doesnt show up for him. and culliver doesnt show up in my roster or depth. so i guess we will have to wait till tomorrow when we advance

very frustrating
 
ya if not we could try again after. atleast it has happen to other people before and worked out so i have hope
