CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!
I don't think Carter is eligible to be traded. Wasn't he a pickup during the FA period?
Ahh, thanks for catching that. I completely forgot about that. I guess he's off the block till offseason.

Dumb question. I know Reggie Bush is in the last year of his contract now. What happens at that time? Do I have the opportunity to sign him again, or did I just lose him and messed up by trading greg jennings?

thanks

Does he show up under the resign players page?

Pats would get:

DaAngelo Williams age 29, ovr 88, contract 4 years 2012 7.22M 2013 8.12M 2014 9.30M 2015 10.84M

Panthers would get:

Brandon Lloyd age 31, ovr 85 contract 3 years 2012 3.26M 2013 3.93M 2014 4,81M
TRADE APPROVED

Hope you guys can get this one put through. I really don't want to do any of that "cut and force" stuff the other league did to put trades through after the deadline had passed. And considering that Williams big contract was a major factor in this deal, scrapping it would change things quite a bit. Deals either need to go through this week or not at all.

fair enough im going to try and get ahold of him now.

Falcons- 20 Eagles- 3

Falcons defense did not play like the 31st ranked defense, they were able to produce 3 interceptions

Matt Ryan near perfect passer rating.

GG scrubo

gg sir. i played like shit, defense gave up big plays and i could not get my passing going at all. nicely played. i need to get better at this game

Yeah my advice to you would be you have Vick use him, he's not so much a pocket passer, and he just stayed in the pocket getting hammered, run with him, confuse the d a little make them dedicate a guy to qb contain and that might open up your passing game a little more.

Titans - 38
Colts - 7

Chris Johnson was apparently angry that he didn't get Player of the Week last week, lol. On a soggy day in Nashville (only reason I miss the Saints dome...though thank God the weather isn't near as bad as in Madden 12), CJ went off for 254 yds on 32 carries, and 4 TDs.

The Colts opening drive was halted by an interception, and after riding CJ down the field, Jake Locker found Nate Washington over the middle for the opening score. The Colts fumbled on the ensuing kickoff, which was recovered by Tennessee, which led to another quick TD, this time by Johnson.

The Titans took a 21-0 lead into the half, and were due to receive the ball to start the 2nd half. Surprisingly, Indianapolis came out in an onside kick formation. I tried audibling, but I guess you can only audible OUT of an onside kick recovery and not into one. I had to burn a timeout, but I also paused the game to ask snakemaster if he did indeed plan on going for an onside kick so we didn't have a mix up again. He told me yes, so I chose the proper formation, and recovered the kick.

I guess it's a little annoying that I had to burn a timeout, but I don't blame snakemaster. I don't know if I would have gone for the onside kick down 21 with an entire half to play, but I probably should have played it safe and came out in an onside recovery formation...and then audibled out if I needed to. I guess I would just advise people to plan for that if they have a 3 score lead and are due to get the ball back.

Chris Johnson ended up rushing for another TD on that drive, and the Titans took a 35-0 lead into the 4th, when the Colts offense finally punched one into the endzone. I started working the clock after that, and after a 20 yard run by CJ with about 1:30 left in the game which put me at around his 18 yard line, it seemed like the Colts weren't going to use their timeouts (they had all 3), as they just let the clock drain down. Seeing what appeared to be submission, I came out and kneeled the ball with about 0:45 left in the game. Again, he let the clock drain down.

I called for another QB Kneel, and once the clock went under 0:40, I just took a knee, so I could pull up the guide and begin typing my message to tell him "gg" and whatnot. Surprisingly, here he called timeout. This kind of miffed me a little bit as it seemed pointless and was just prolonging the game. After seeing that, I wasn't about to kneel it again, so I called a running play. I was REALLY tempted to call a playaction, but I didn't want to really be a dick because of a small hinderance that ultimately wouldn't matter. After gaining 4 yards on the run, it brought up 4th down, and he used his 2nd timeout. So, I kicked the field goal with about :10 left to give me a 38-7 lead.

With this late surge of aggressive play, I decided to do the realistic thing and squib kick the ball (which I did exactly according to rules...straight down the middle, no height/angle adjustment). This gave him the ball with :07 left. He completed a short 4 yard pass, used his final timeout, and then completed a crazy hail mary pass to my 30 yard line to end the game. I don't know if he just wanted the XP at the end or what, but it was an odd finish. Not really sure what to think about it, as I'm not going to complain when I got the win. Just not sure what the point was.

Titans
Jake Locker - 4-6, 56 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Chris Johnson - 32 att, 254 yds, 4 TDs
Nate Washington - 4 rec, 56 yds, 1 TD
Kamerion Wimbley - 1 tackle, 1 sack, 1 FF
Colin McCarthy - 3 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT

Colts
Andrew Luck - 15-30, 224 yds, 1 TD, 2 INTs
Donald Brown - 6 att, 7 yds, 3 rec, 42 yds
Reggie Wayne - 4 rec, 37 yds
Roy Williams - 3 rec, 32 yds
Vernon Davis - 2 rec, 39 yds
Donnie Avery - 1 rec, 43 yds
Austin Collie - 1 rec, 29 yds
LaVon Brazill - 1 rec, 2 yds, 1 TD
Pat Angerer - 7 tackles
Tom Zbikowski - 7 tackles, 1 TFL
Antoine Bethea - 6 tackles

Nate, me and fsecreast were scheduled to play later today but my Xbox is acting up, so could you set me to auto pilot so he can play the cpu? I'm going to try to fix it this weekend and if that doesn't work, I guess i'll have to buy another one next week.

Hopping on to do this now.

Can I get an estimated time for the trade between DarkRider and me? Scheduled to play my Week 8 game tomorrow afternoon, and if the trade gets approved, I would need to make the trade before I played.

Sorry, I just now forwarded it to the committee because Dark Rider had to resubmit it because he didn't include the players ages. I'm going out for a bit, but hopefully you'll have an answer some time tonight.

cool, sounds good. thanks for the quick reply

Thanks Nate. I think I got my 360 fixed. It's still kind of wonky but hopefully it'll hold out for a while as I would like to wait a bit before getting a new one. Been spending way too much money lately.
here is a trade submission between the broncos and the jets.

[broncos send] knowshon moreno - rb - 79ovr - age 25 - 2yrs - 8mil left

for

[jets send] laron landry - fs - 81ovr - age 28 - 1yr - 4mil

the reasoning behind this is, i desperately need a solid safety and he needed a good speed/receiving back. I have no need for moreno with hillman and magahee.
trade approved

i was getting on to play my game but he sent me a message saying he cant play tonight at the time we decided so he asked to play tomorrow but didnt leave a time so lets hope we can get are game in!!!
trade approved
We tried to do this trade just now but it's not going through. We each tried sendin it to the other while we were both online. We even both backed out and went back into the league. After one of us accepts, it still shows up as "Trade Pending".

And as I was writing this, I looked up the schedule and see DarkRider already played his Week 8 game... here's hoping EA made it so it goes thru after we advance, but doubtful. I'm guessing if the game doesnt have it go thru on its own, the trade is voided?

Yeah, it's most likely not going to work then. It sucks, but I'm really not in favor of doing what the other league did with cutting players and voiding contracts. To me, it alters too much. It was also brought up that the trade might not go through this week if either person had played their game, so it's not like people weren't aware. The problem is that even with a pending trade, it won't go through because no pending trades go through (the reason both users have to be online at the same time).

So, the next opportunity you guys would have to both be online when neither of you has played your game will be in Week 9...when the trade deadline has already passed. The only other thing I can think to tell you is to try again AFTER you've played your game (it would stand to reason that if both teams had already played their games, the trade shouldn't be a problem...but since when has EA dealt in logic?). If it doesn't work, you guys will just have to reconsider it for the offseason if you both still want to do it. Sorry, man.

Doctor Worm told me i have to play the cpu because we cant come up with a time to play and today is the last day, but he didnt give me a time when he would put it on auto so if he doesnt do it by 6pm est i would need you to do it N8 because i cant play after 8pm est. Just thought i would throw that out there so your are aware of whats going on.

Bears pull out a win over the Panthers 23-13. This was a lot closer than the score makes it look. The score at the half was 6-3 with Chicago leading. I'm not used to getting shut down like that on offense, or actually playing good defense. In the 3rd, I squeezed out a short TD run from Forte and a FG to make it 16-3 going to the 4th quarter. Carolina pulled closer with a FG to make it 16-6. I came out in a onside recover formation just to be safe, but Doo Mane was in a regular kickoff set, so I audible to a regular return. Then Hester proceeds to take it to the house with the hands team blocking. That was pretty crazy.

Good game, Doo Mane. Your D is pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if we meet up again in the playoffs, if I can make it, that is.

Also, Aaron Maybin continues to be a beast LB for me. He had a huge sack near the goal line to turn a 3rd and short to into a FG. I still can't believe he fell all the way to the next to last FA group.

Miami wins 28-10 over the Jets. A big second quarter, that included a fumble return and kickoff return for the Phins were the plays of the game that put some separation between the two teams. The Jets could move the ball up and down the field but the turnovers were killer for him and is pretty much what limited him to 10 points. GG droppin.
Looking forward to replacing Christian Ponder at my earliest convenience. What a terrible quarterback.
He is, I didn't realize that till week 12 in the main league. I got Carson Palmer, just played my first game with him and it went pretty well.

GG. those turnovers really killed it for me, and was wanting to quit and end the game as quickly as possible as I was so freakin frustrated. i was ready to throw my controller after that fumble and kickoff return lol. the RB button does jackshit! you and the pats defense is probably the two best I've played in any of my leagues. Couldn't do shit but pass to my HB or TE, otherwise it was a pick haha

Idk what Playbook you are using but I was in an offensive funk for a while, it seemed like I couldn't pass on anybody. Like you I did a lot of shotgun and I use the packers Playbook, so to help me get out of my funk I switched to a more run oriented Playbook, Cleveland to be exact. I forced myself to stay out of shotgun, run the ball more, and pass out of running formations. It sounds silly but just changing the Playbook can help. Also I'd take a look at the pats Playbook, a lot of interesting route combinations.

All right, we have advanced to Week 9! The Chiefs vs Raiders game didn't get played. What happened there, guys? Also, trading is over for the season! Whew! lol...not that I didn't enjoy the transactions, but damn it will be nice to not have to review trades for awhile. Any trades that didn't get done, I'm sorry. EA definitely didn't make it easy on any of us. You'll just have to stand pat and save them for the offseason. And now, the award winners for Week 8!

NFC Offensive PotW: Jason Witten, DAL - 5 rec, 169 yds, 2 TDs
NFC Defensive PotW: Brandon Carr, DAL - 3 tackles, 2 INT, 1 TD

AFC Offensive PotW: Chris Johnson, TEN - 32 att, 254 yds, 4 TDs
AFC Defensive PotW: Sean Smith, MIA - 2 tackles, 2 INT, 1 FR, 1 TD

Also, you'll notice that the candidates for the yearly awards and the pro bowl have now been announced.

Week 9 games will be due by 10/31! So, get your games in before you go out Trick or Treating!
Awh bye week...ill check pro bowl later. Hard to get anyone POTW when I spread the ball around so much.

Who would of guessed CJ is the current leader in probowl votes and 1st for the MVP voting. :p
lol...leave me alone! He's all I have, haha. I'm just glad that because of the XP system this year, I was able to improve his toughness rating. Otherwise, he would have been injured in Week 2, lol.
You think CJ's got big numbers now, just wait until he plays against my run defense.
Not buying into the false sense of security. I always remember your defense being pretty strong.

this game is killing me all dezzy bryant had to do is move his hand like 5 inches and they would have won this game FML
He said he tried and couldn't do it?
Nope. That's not right, lol. You go into the league settings, and I can't remember what it's called...."My League", I think (it's the bottom right one). Then, there's an option for user teams. You find yourself, press A, and then select "toggle auto pilot". People need to know how to do this. I don't have time to be loading up Madden multiple times a day to flip people on and off of CPU play. Like I've said before, if I could do it from the website (or from that fancy invisible app that EA has talked about since June), that would be one thing. But it's a pain in the ass loading up the game during a Sunday afternoon with my family.

Broncos take the victory 28-13

My defense stepped up, and it showed, causing six interceptions and a fumble.

Great game DVO! A lot closer than the score indicates!
