I have a Happs Vision Pro VGA/SVGA monitor (
http://www.happcontrols.com/monitors/491337vp2lg.htm) and when I try to run certain games I get an "out of range" error message. Examples are Tapper (tapper), Popeye (popeye) and Mortal Kombat II (mk2). Is there any way to get these games playable on my monitor? Is there a setting I can input for each game that is doing this so it will run in the proper range of my monitor?
I'm going to try and walk through an example... I am running "mspacman" perfectly with no modifications or special configurations other than specifying the "-ror" command so it rotates 90 degrees. According to MAWS, mspacman runs at a resolution of 224x288 and at a frequency of 60.606060Hz. Everything works perfectly for this game.
However, when I try to run "popeye" I get an "out of range" error message on the monitor. According to MAWS, popeye runs at a resolution of 512x448 and a frequency of 60.000000Hz. How can I instruct my monitor to display this?
Any help would be MUCH appreciated. THANKS!!
