Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Gen. Discussion & Info

i heard of a clan match where the 2 clans only used the knife and rpgs the entire game. only reason i know this is because we had played one of those clans before and they are about to move to vegas 2, so i was thinking about challenging them again until i saw that. while it would be fun, i only want to play a clan that will take it seriously.
 
Wow that map is going to be great. Carentan was by far my favorite map on CoD2, with Toujane following close behind.

Edit: and by the way, how do I change the difficulty mid-way through the single player campaign? I selected Normal at the beginning, but its a little easy...I'd sooner try hardened...

Remake of Carentan huh? I'd say that I love Toujane way more (as that was the map that won me the COD2 tournament and got me a free trip to LA to play COD3). I've actually met that guy in the video, though I never knew his real name, just the fourzerotwo he goes by on live.

Damn, I want to go play COD2 now. haha

I'm mainly a fan of TDM (not hardcore). It seems hardcore is overall meant for those who like to sneak around a bit more...TDM is great cause I can call airstrikes and choppers all the time on their location with the UAV :D.
Went 31/7 one match today in TDM and called 3 airstrikes and 1 chopper lol
 
The key to getting choppers is killing two more people with that airstrike. Once you get 5, run into a safe spot, then launch. You will have a much better chance of getting choppers this way.

I would laugh with you, but I TK'ed Simon four times in one match when I forgot to turn martyrdom off. At one point I killed him twice within 10 seconds. I threw a grenade up into the construction building on backlot, killing him and then when we both respawned I got insta-killed and then dropped a grenade, blowing up a car and spawn team killed him.

Love ya Simon! haha
 
I need this question answered once and for all.

This game is rated M and my XBL account is a child one. Is there any chance of me being able to download it? If not, is it possible to create a silver account, download it there and then play it on my gold account?

I have the same problem, but it sounds like dlc is ok. I have heard people with child accounts buy halo maps.

I think RB2 is gonna drag some people away but it still won't do as good as numbers at CoD does. I'm sure the amount of people that leave from CoD is gonna be greater than the number of people leaving from Halo 3, thus putting Halo 3 back on the top of Live Users. Can't wait to see the numbers in two or three weeks...
 
Im a R6 fan but this looks more like Rainbow Six Vegas 1.5 then a true sequel. Reminds me exactly like the Black arrow stuff from Xbox
 
Man those maps look great. I am SOOO looking forward to the Bonus map, KillHouse.. That looks like its just going to be a slaughter fest (Hopefully it wont turn into a Nadefest thought, damn spammers)

God I hope your right. The amount of Asshat's that play COD4 is staggering. I hope they stay right where they are. The COD4 community completely ruined the online game for me.

Ya coming from Halo3 I find CoD4's community to be quite awful. You hear much more online cussing as people fight with each other for no reason, and often you'll hear some kid whining or singing or screaming or whatevvvver. But that's only like 60% of the time...so the other 40% is usually ok.

I'm used to it though...I think more druggies play call of duty games than any other FPS I've played. I played CoD2 for like 2 years constantly and ever clan I joined in had people who smoked/did drugs...lol

The number has increased dramatically since the patch. Also, it seems that a lot of people have purchased the game recently. I really need to figure out how to quick mute people. However, playing with the CAG group, I find that at least the asshats are limited to the players on the opposing team.

Dammmn, yes, these were very interesting games! I think we had about 150 points in team kills that time :(

But it never fails to crack me up when I get Team Killed!

A few months ago when I was just playing with random people...I think it was Search & Destroy (whichever one has no respawn at ALL), the second the match started, I knifed my team member to be funny(not knowing it would kill him). He died, dropped a martyrdom, and killed my team of five guys, including me, thus ending the round!!

Oh, man, everyone was like "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, MAN!??!?!?!?!?!" "DAMN IT, SIMON D I!!!!!"

I don't think I've ever laughed harder in my life!!

Yeah, I've noticed that the community has changed a lot since the patch. The change might be a result of the time of year, too: a lot of schools (high school and college) are on spring break, so there may be more people playing than usual.

As for the quick mute, in the lobby, press A on a person's name, then bring up the Gamercard like usual. In-game, press the Back button to bring up the player list, navigate to the player's name (using the d-pad), and press the A button.
 
i have honestly muted well over 200 players within the last week on here. quick mute does not keep them muted the entire time (including the next time they come in the room). i don't know what it is, but it is either trash talking, singing, or just really loud people almost every time i hit a room now. the trash talking is the biggest thing, considering i try not to say anything unless it is to people in my party, i am started to get annoyed with the game in general.

i will get in a room and because of being 10th prestige; level 55, i have no life automatically. that or "all the 10th prestiges suck, we are going to destroy these guys" statements come up and as soon as the game is over (3-4 mins. tops), we all have no life on my team. whether i go 30-2 at the top of the board or 6-0 around the middle or so, i am always the person named with no life.

The thing that I hate is when we have 6-9 CAG's playing together and when we enter the room the first thing you hear is "OH A CLAN! CAG SUX! CAG SUX! WE'RE GOING TO KILL YOU!" But like DCriminal said, in that case, they're on the other team. ;)

Though it is fun when we start the room and one random person joins, only to see nine people with the same clan tag and quickly back out.
 
I usually don't play with a mic unless I am partying up with friends or the gameplay of a teammate questions me. Oh yeah, I also play with one in S&D.
 
So, I just got done playing around an hour by myself. I went something like 2-8. My first match was headquarters, and I got dumped into a game in progress, put on a team losing 235-15 with seven minutes still to go. The winning team was just camping the headquarters, not trying to capture it, but just killing the crap out of us.

I quit out of that game to find another that wouldn't be a slaughterfest, and got put back into the same fucking game! I got two losses from one game! I just stayed the remainder and sniped the guys killing the people rushing the headquarters and promptly backed out to never play headquarters alone again.

I was playing with nothing but noobs this entire time. I switched over to domination and actually heard somone say "No dude, don't try to go get C. We just need B." and proceded to rush B for the rest of the game getting massacred for the rest of the game. Fools.

I love when they do that, Its like they're blind "Hey if we go this way we can flank them and kill them from behind" - "No...that doesn't sound like a good idea...lets rush head on (apply directly to the forehead) and let our bodies pile up into a wall of death"

I just go ahead on my own and start my own killing spree while the lemmings distract the enemy team and at the end of the match my team is in awe over how many kills i have and how many times they fucked up.

Just played Ground War Domination with a shit ass team and went 30-6. On top of that we won. At least four guys on our team had no clue what to do and were level 15 or under. I'm really surprised that we actually won though.
 
By the way, for those of you that do not know, the new maps (4 total) will be 800 points on XBL. I'm assuming most of you already know. I just found out like yesterday.

Heh... lemmings is a great way to describe them. I wish it didn't have to be that way though, to where its just me and maybe one more person will accidentally follow me while the other four people just blindly rush in over and over hoping that this time something different will happen.

Hey thanks for the info, I was wondering how much they would be...

Anyone have any guesses as to when the will drop in cost? If at all.

Yea, I just got done playing and it's been a while since I played and the people aren't that friendly or just plain annoying.
