Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Gen. Discussion & Info
Also, side note, I've fallen in love with Hardcore Team Deathmatch. You don't get as much XP as say Headquarters or Domination, but it is hella fun to play, not to mention super easy to get those 150 kills with weapons you're not good at. Seriously, throw stopping power on a sniper rifle and I could hit you in the foot through a wall and you're dead. That, and I got a three kill streak in last stand once, including two headshots.
I've gotten to where I'm only playing Hardcore now. It's just a little slower paced than normal team deathmatch and people that play it are typically more skilled and know how to use perks other than triple grenades and martyrdom to be able to get kills. I think it's funner unless you get a team-killer in the match.

By the way, does the CAG group play ranked games where you can get experience or are they typically in private matches.

Ranked games most of the time. Sometime on the Thurs. game night there are a ton of us on and we play private matches.

Yeah, the no HUD adds a challenge. I just made it a habit to hit X every few seconds when I'm not seeing any enemies to make sure my gun always has a full clip. The no radar makes for better team communication as you have to say "there are three in the blue building" or whatever to let everyone know where the other guys are instead of just looking at the top corner.

And yeah, team killing can be a problem. I usually have one every couple of matches from people running in front of me while I'm shooting. Most people don't even throw grenades unless they're sure our team isn't in there, which is great for those who hate grenade spammers who just look up and throw.

I think I will go through the list and PM Dave since you guys are liking that idea.

Damn, forgot it had friendly fire. That'll keep me out of it as I end up shooting at/knifing teammates all the time as it's kind of hard to tell who' who sometimes when things get hectic. Definitely harder than Halo where the red vs. blue makes it very simple.

I will often try to join CAG games, but they are usually full. We need a good system to get a second game set up, and then have them converge when people drop out. Also, don't kick peeps just because they don't have a CAG clan tag, I got kicked immediately upon joining, for I believe that reason.

The accidental teams kills are sometimes funny though. I had a match last week (I think with a couple CAGs) and we were playing hardcore S&D. We were destroying the other team and I thought (keyword thought) I seen one of the last two guys and decided to bust a .50 Cal round at the dude.

This is seriously what it sounded like:

Teammate #1: Two left anyone see one of them.
Me: No....Nevermind got one crouching here. He is in building 2.
Teammate #2: Alright get him.
Teammate #1: Tell us if he moves.
Me: Aiming, steady. (Trigger pulled). Headshot baby.... fuck!!
Teammate #1 &2: *Laughing*

Post match: Why the hell didn't you say anything when he was describing your location??

Every time I have played a Hardcore match there has been a team killer on my side. Kind of ruins the fun to say the least. Perhaps I will give it another try.

The CAG group usually plays ranked matches, but will go private on Thursday nights due to number of players.

That's why I try to get a full 6 man team together before I start to play anything in hardcore.

I tried to send a friend request to the CAGCOD4 group but got an error.

I think I probably had the worst accidental teamkill. I was playing as Marines on Crossfire and was up in the second story of that long building on the Marine spawn end, when I turned the corner and saw one of my team mates climbing that ladder at the far end of the building. I actually stood there thinking "oh man, this is going to be a great kill, I'll just wait until this idiot is off the ladder and I'll knife his face." I did just that and then remembered I was playing as Marines. The guy didn't believe me that I didn't mean to knife him in the face, and I felt like a complete idiot.

I may just get online too late since I get home after midnight EST. I've played one or two nights with CAGs, but for the last week it seems by the time I get online very few are on and none are playing COD although someone's getting their money's worth out of the HDDVD player!

Had a cool match yesterday. Got killed before I could call in an airstrike. Called it right away after respawning and got 7 (!) kills which of course earned me another airstrike which I dropped where most spawned and got 4 more kills and a chopper! Don't get caught in the Bog!

Yeah bog is always a nice place for airstrikes. Especially behind the sniper wall.

Lol been there, done that

Played a little COD4 online tonight and had a good time. Was my first time on and while I definitely start with a handicap I didn't feel completely inept. I do wonder how long it's gonna take before I can add the laser site to a weapon tho. That seems to be a nice advantage.
MLG OT > ANY CAG kids. Believe it.
3/4's of the "MLG" players i have played against are a disgrace to gaming. i see them going under a 1 k/d every time i have played them and then they ALWAYS make up an excuse about losing. they can never say good game, i just got my ass kicked... they have to say "you got no life" or "it was because my team was bad" or my personal favorite "it was lag" even though the ENTIRE room had 3-4 green bars and no one else in the room had any lag.

not to say that every single one is bad, because i have played a few good ones, but the majority of them suck as far as i am concerened.

Well...I was playing Hardcore S&D and my friend picked up the bomb. It was on crossfire and he was inside that really small room downstairs in that three story building. I walked up, accidentally shot him ONCE and thought to myself "How the fuck did he die? There was no one around him...".

lol I had a pretty good accidental teamkill. I had only been playing TDM and FFA, then I was unlocking new modes and I saw "Team Hardcore." so I jumped in wondering what it was, and right when I entered I just threw a grenade for no reason and had no idea that team hardcore had teamkilling ON. So I ended up killing a few teammates, and the fact that you could TK quickly became clear as I heard juuuuuuust a bit of cussing...so I quickly left the game cause I pretty much destroyed the whole game for my team lol.
MLG OT > ANY CAG kids. Believe it.
lol, thats a good one. Maybe some of the good MLG CoD4 players, but definitely not the OT kids.

Every "MLG" person I've played against was a little kid talking crap, and then he got his ass handed to him.

Post their stats. I doubt they any good.
Gotta love our state... :D

Now if only we could get rid of Granwhore.

Valor what area are you from??
Nah, Michigan sucks.. and Granholm was a much better choice than DeVos .

But anyway, I'd love to play a few games with fellow CAGers, always seems to be such a disarray with random people.

I wish I could be playing with you guys right now, but I've actually got to finish that pesky paper that's due tomorrow. It doesn't help that I'm having trouble holding my head up from being so sleepy to begin with.

I'll definitely be playing basically from Thursday night until next Sunday as I'll be on Spring Break and well, as a member of Cheap Ass Gamer its not like I can afford going to Miami or some crap like that. haha
I don't. Prove it. Post some of their stats.
Why post? Let's see if we can arrange alittle private match? I'm a Mod over at MLG and I'm sure there is another 5 people I can grab. We typically play late-ish. About 12-3. Let me know if yer interested. Mwahahahaah

What exactly is MLG? Sorry I'm not too familiar with clans or tournament type organizations. I'm guessing it's some sort of clan?

This douchebag has got to be kiddin' me. He thinks he can outplay JinSanity? That's a joke.

It's the largest console tournament. We currently support Halo3, Gears, and Rainbow Six.

Did I say I was better than Jin? I don't even know Jin. But I did say we could put together a better group of SIX son. Get organized and get back to me. Even if we lose it will still be fun and competitive.

MLG is Major League Gaming, one of the biggest gaming pro circuits out there (others being Championship Gaming Series by DirecTV and the World Cyber Games.)

It's not an "if" it's "Yes, you're going to lose"

If you want fun and competitive go play fuckin' Pokemon.

Personally, I'd rather not deal with all this cocky bullshit, as I prefer to just play for fun.

That being said, if this is really going to go down, I'm in. ;) I know JohnQuincy and I were making a killing last night.

Agreed. We're a bunch of OT kids and I thought it would be fun to play some of the CAG kids. If ya'll do get organized and figure out a group of six PM me here or send an F/R to the bigsauce. We're on for about 3 hours every night, between 12-3EST. We'll work out he host thing and gametypes when the time comes.
Preview of the map pack over at Gamespot.

No release date given other than "later this spring." Maps look cool, though.
Can't wait to play Broadcast with my shotgun.

A map based on the SAS killhouse training facility? I can only hope. They all sound like I should be glad I've been saving my MS points for these.

You know, you dont need to save them, you can actually buy more when you need them :)

Dude, I'm a part of cheap ass gamer. I'm saving them. haha

Also, anyone who is interested in giving the CAGCOD4 game night a try but isn't on the list, just send a message to hamsterxcore on xbox live and I'll try to get you in.

Lost so many games in a row, kept running into clans of people vs me and just 2 of my friends. We always competed just never really won

Finally got my Gold Cross and right when I quit I was ranked like 410 in kills. I might try to get top 100 havent decided

Hahaha... just gotta say that "Knives Out" (to borrow a Radiohead title) is my new favorite game mode. :) It helps that I actually placed well in it, too.

The knife fight was both hysterical and fun. I don't think I've ever had more fun running around trying to stab anyone in my life. Not only that, but I noticed alot of the people participating were much better at knifing in later games.

I'd apoligze for my bad upload speed hosting the first knife battle, but the hilarity that ensued was well worth it.

The way you phrased that makes it sound like stabbing people is one of your hobbies. That's ridiculous.... right? heh heh... *runs away*
